Kavkaz is a cozy gem where you can dive into hearty Armenian and Russian dishes, like khinkali and lula kebabs, amid a charmingly rustic vibe.

"The only thing that we don’t like about this North Miami Beach Georgian restaurant is the harsh LED lighting that reminds us of that moment when they turn the house lights on in a club. So if you’re sensitive to lighting, just ask to sit on the cute patio with a trellis and fake vines. The food here is very solid—and we like the pkhali dip platter (order some homemade bread for it), lula kebab, khinkali dumplings, and excellent adjaruli khachapuri that they mix tableside for you. But the one dish that stands out the most here is the kharcho, a beefy tomato and rice soup with a complex mixture of spices and herbs. Together with a cheesy khachapuri, it tastes like a more satisfying (and flavorful) grilled cheese and tomato soup. You should absolutely finish with the Kavkaz dessert: thin slices of sponge holding together globs of whipped cream, caramelized condensed milk, meringue, and walnuts." - Carlos C Olaechea

Restaurant Kavkaz is love at first sight (and at first bite)! The atmosphere is simply magical: cozy interior, stylish details, soft light - you want to photograph every corner. An ideal place for beautiful photos, especially for girls who appreciate aesthetics and taste. And ... the food is simply divine! The shashlik is tender, khachapuri is like from Georgia, they did not overdo it with spices, everything is very balanced. The presentation of the dish is a separate pleasure, everything looks as if the food itself is posing for Instagram. 💃 Girls, if you are looking for a place to eat deliciously, chat with friends and take cool photos for social networks - you should definitely go to Kavkaz. This is not just a dinner, it is a whole oriental experience! 📸 The food in the photo looks no worse than it tastes - proven! 💗 I will come back here more than once!

Everything was just amazing! the food was simply impeccably delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the service and maintenance were top notch! I will definitely come back with great pleasure!

Google
The food was delicious and the portions were great! The weird part you have to find how to enter this place because the actual entrance is locked and we went around to meet uninterested & unfriendly grill master, who we asked how to enter and he just nodded in the direction of the kitchen, so we went through the kitchen into the back door. There the friendly lady greets you, she is doing her best, but she doesn’t speak English. Loud Russian music is quite disturbing. The atmosphere is very old fashioned, maybe this is what they aim for.

This review is a specifically written about Lamb Kebab by Kavkaz restaurant: We ordered lamb kebab. That is a worst experience of my life with meat. We left the food and they cheekily provided bills. But I am happy with it. We were ready to pay more than this bill just because exact to know where we are not gonna eat again and recommend.

Google
The purpose for a visit to this Armenian mom-and-pop is the food, and food alone. What may be lacking in atmosphere is compensated by flavor. Beef lulla kebab, wonderfully grilled — served with hearty fries and fresh salad. Perfect to wrap in complimentary lavash bread. Khinkali, extra large dumplings soupy within, eat with hands and suck out the juice (think xiaolongbao) before devouring. Side of pickles, a must.

Google
Your Armenian grandma's home cooking! Well, I don't know for sure but it certainly tastes authentic and made with love. The decor and tables were fancy like a family Sunday night dinner but homey too. The serving sizes were large and the dishes were hot right from the grill. We loved the imported lemonade and the bread for the table. The whole experience was a little outside our comfort zone (never had Armenian food) but well worth it. You will not be disappointed and very pleasantly surprised. Be sure to give them a try.

Google
chef killin em (the kebabs) here!!! this place is so good. true soviet service vibes here, but i think it’s kinda charming. u come for the flame grilled kebabs out back, which are delicious. the first time i stopped by here some ten years ago a group of jovial (tipsy) old men gathered around one of the tables offered me shots of vodka. super unassuming spot off a freeway entrance, all the better.

Google
As always food was amazing 👏! This is one of those little places that you may be driving by everyday and not even notice, but once you stop by and try their food..man it is good! I have discovered it 16 years ago and up to this day everytime I am in LA (I live in Sacramento) I will plan my day to make sure I stop here for lunch and dinner. It is mostly Armenian food with amazing choices of different kabob but also some mixture of Slavic food. Same people working here since 1st day I ate here. I just love this place

Yelp
I can't praise this Armenian restaurant enough! The service was impeccable; the staff was gracious and made me feel right at home. The food was a revelation - the lule kebabs were juicy and flavorful, and the gata dessert was a sweet ending to a fantastic meal. The ambiance was cozy, with authentic decorations that added to the overall charm. I left with a full belly and a smile on my face, knowing I've found my new favorite dining spot.

Yelp
1. On the picture of Pork ikbir the restaurant shows Rice, vegetables, grilled tomato and paper. But the sent me ONLY MEAT. 2. The bread that went with the soup "solyanka" was spoiled and had mold on it.

Tariel G.

Yelp
Hinkali! First bite resulted in only three words that could describe it! OH My God!!! Wouldn't take lamb chops and pork ribs next time, those ended up too dry. But Hinkali are amazing!

Yuriy P.

Yelp
Food is below par... Do not waste your money... I saw my food was microwaved. Go to McDonald's instead.

Emma C.

Yelp
Delicious kebabs, rice, grilled fish and very consistent. I've been coming here for years and am never disappointed.

Emily G.

Yelp
The service was not exiting. Ordered lamb kebab with rice and salad. Meat was good seasoned but cold. Rice very salty and cold too. Salad was good. Second dish was khinkali. $4 per piece The dough was very thick and salty the broth and meat was very salty to my taste /impossible to eat. A few khinkali was already open and broth was out. Kharcho was nothing special, fat , meat, rice everything was added together in hot water like a salad but was not cooked together... we had better Lavash was stale The Restarant do not take credit cards. It was a huge surprise to us. We was not ready to pay cash... No sign was visible to us like " cash only" Bill was $80 It was very unpleasant experience to us.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday recently. Quiet little hole in the wall, strange smell to the place that I couldn't identify. Ceiling looked like it needed maintenance. My party got the combination platter to share with fries, and we were served lavash bread straight from the bag and a salad with tomatoes. One friend and I also bought Russian sodas.m (Tarakhun, I think? It's "Russian Lemonade" on the menu). We also got the buns that you see on the first photo for this restaurant (khinkali?) I thought the food was mediocre overall, and my friends didn't care for it at all. The meat from the combo platter was cooked well and I did find them tasty, but they were kind of boring- just salt basically. It needed a sauce or some other spices and herbs to enhance their flavor. Fries did have other spices to them and I liked them well enough. Nothing to write home about, however. Khinkali was actually pretty good! Reminded me of Chinese baozi. Salad was fine; ingredients seem to be good quality. Bread was straight from the bag and was very mealy and honesty a little tough; maybe I should have gotten some hummus or appetizer as well? Alternately, if they toasted it and buttered it it would have been a lot better The soda was interesting though. Service was slow. Never brought out water for my friends. To be honest, this is what I disliked about this place the most. I can't write it off simply because it's a Russian neighborhood restaurant; Spotty service is a thing in Chinese holes in the wall as well, but at least they serve tables in a timely fashion. I'm glad I tried it and I'm willing to give Russian/Armenian cuisine another chance but I don't think I'm coming back to this restaurant

Mandy A.

Yelp
I was excited to try Russian style dishes, and we had kebab, dumplings and salad. For drink we had yoghurt drink which tasted pretty good but it was expired way before ling time ago which we didn't notice while drinking. I don't know why they were selling expired items. The food was okay, little bit salty and the salad (cucumber with yogurt) was good. My 3 star is for the drink we had which was expired.

Yelp
Best soup! I was beyond happy when I discovered Kavkaz!! This place is special. I feel very lucky to have been introduced to such an authentic restaurant like no other in Los Angeles

Emil Q.

Yelp
I would give negative star if i could. Very disappointed. I have been a customer of this place for 6 years and have never experienced a shitty customer service and garbage kababs before. Maybe chef was not in the mood or maybe his wife fought him in the morning, but kebabs i ordered was tasting a cardboard, so dry and tasted my girlfriend's period. Seriously, didn't you think your customer will have to eat this shit? It went straight to the garbage, couldnt finish the first bite, i almost throw up. I noticed this had been an ongoing degradation in the quality of the food over the years. Was there in front of chef when he prepared the kababs, mishandling the meet and poor hygiene caught my eyes. I was about to call some authorities to report this kind of food mishandling. I am calling the restaurant owner to fire this chef, or you will loose many many of your loyal customers and be a bad example for new customers. Anyways, i am definitely not returning back here unless i see a different chef. What a coward and bastard to let his customers consume this kind of unhygienic meet. I will also tell all my surroundings and friends as well not to use this place again.

Thomas T.

Yelp
If you go, the fries and lamb kebabs are a must. My brother and I ordered the lamb kebab and the lula kebab dishes. The lula comes with beef and a meat of your choosing. You get to choose a side of fries or rice. I tried both and I thought the fries were excellent. The food here is cooked home style and is very pleasant. I love how the tomatoes and cucumbers taste. The bread is not shown in any of my pictures but it is thin and pairs very nicely with the entrees we ordered. You get to wrap everything up in a thin bread and eat it which only adds to the fun-ness for me. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken kebabs but I loved everything else. Thinking about this place again makes me want to wrap food up in thin bread and eat it. Yum.

Jessica R.

Yelp
Hmm... I'm not sure about this place to go... cuz they must try more practice and paint the wall.. Unfortunately but i really don't recommend this place.

Alex D.

Yelp
I was trying to order from here over the phone. A man picked up the phone and started speaking in Russian, not very welcoming for people who don't speak the language, is it? Yikes. I felt something was off while I was placing my order and called them back to double check. My intuition was right.. the order was not placed.. The man said the phone line jammed.. whatever. So I proceeded to order the kebab and the borscht and he says they didn't get the meat yet.. so no borscht, no kebab. Midday Friday. After calling them 3 times I felt like whoever answered the phone had an attitude from the get go.. I had a feeling I couldn't shake that I was either bothering them or they were not willing to do the work. As such I though I'd be better off spending my money somewhere else.

Akylbek T.

Yelp
Nothing left. So delicious and marvelous. Reasonable price. Portion size is great. I would highly recommend everyone.

Yelp
Perhaps the people who have left negative reviews and said the couple that run it are "rude " are just used to the traditional American service where people bend over backwards at your whim and don't accept anything else because I found the couple, while insanely busy, to be kind. They basically do everything themselves so No, they won't be bending and scraping over you. Also be aware everything is made from scratch so don't go expecting a super fast meal. Came with my dad last weekend and shared the dumplings, lula kabob plate and borscht. Everything was FRESH and delicious! No frills set up, very simple but good food and large portions. We will be returning.

Yana K.

Yelp
We ordered food to go, pork xorovatz beef and a beef kabab. Two out of three were spoiled. I could taste that nasty "old" going bad taste on my xorovatz.

Sklar T.

Yelp
Quaint little Mom & Pop operation, serving up Russian Armenian regional dishes. Both husband and wife speak limited English, but try their best to accommodate their customers. Both speak Russian and Armenian. Their xenkhalis are well seasoned, very tasty. Had them plain with black pepper. Since my friend and I couldn't make up our minds for the main course of kababs, we ordered their combination platter for 4 for $50. It came with char grilled pieces of filet mignon, pork loin, lamb chops, and chicken and beef lula kababs. The combination platter came with a generous portion of rice pilaf (though a bit too much on the wet side), as well as a side salad. There was a lot of food, but some of the meats were a tad overcooked, particularly the lamb chops. Everything was well seasoned. Credit cards are accepted here.

Graciela M.

Yelp
This place is great. Is service fantastic? No. But the food more than makes up for it! We entered the restaurant and were asked to confirm that we don't speak any Russian, to the chagrin of our waiter. Then, we were handed a single menu to share between the four of us. Though some would likely complain about this, and I imagine we would had there been a different table in possession of the menu, it added to the charm. Now the important thing-- THE FOOD. So good. So cheap. So filling. We got the greek salad (they gave us a double order when we thought we ordered a single, but we ate most of it regardless), hummus, 6 khinkali, lamb kebab, and beef lula kebab! Everything was good. The greek salad is somewhat atypical and definitely no frills, but well seasoned. The hummus was very standard good hummus. The khinkali were AMAZING, and I would definitely recommend trying. They are filled with some beef and a little broth (my Hong Kong raised Grandfather referred to them as large xiao long bao). Both of the meats were very well seasoned and delicious. With drinks and tip, the meal came to 85 dollars for 4, with plenty of food to take home. Atmosphere is certainly strange (we spent most of the time alone in the dining room, but were checked on enough), and service is not unfriendly but definitely isn't doting. But the food is delicious, and we will definitely return.

Adiya A.

Yelp
DO NOT EXPECT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT! The food is very good / authentic. Meat was seasoned, grilled the right way and delicious. It comes with a salad, rice and lavash. Prices are cheap. But the owner is kind of rude which is ok if I'm happy with food. If you can't tolerate it then I would suggest to find another place. I would also say it's a good choice for take out. Dining room was not cozy at all.

Şerefhan A.

Yelp
Food was below avarage service was bad No one speak english or spanish mezes was old rice and meat probably expired . First they didnt accept apple pay they said they accept only cash I said I dont have cash I can make zelle. Then they said okey you can pay with card. But my card was in my car I told them abd they follow me to my car.

Gabe Z.

Yelp
This restaurant is everything I was hoping for - weird location, on-the-nose Russian/Armenian ambiance, delicious food, fun people, low prices. If you are a genuine lover of LA's ethnic food scene, you will really enjoy Kavkaz. If you are a basic person, you will not. Simple. We ordered grilled pork and a lula kebab. The nice owner (he and his wife do most of the cooking) recommended we not order anything else (it comes with rice and salad) and he was very right. The food was perfectly cooked, fresh, seasoned well and very very delicious. They don't stay open late, and the parking situation is a bit weird, but don't let that deter you. You (as I) will likely be back. And to the people kvetching about the service - I hear you. Everything here could easily get weird. But that's what you get when you eat out at amazing mom and pop places in LA. Weirdness. If you want it to be consistent and perfect each time, may I suggest PF Changs?

W T.

Yelp
As they say, "you can't eat the atmosphere"; that is unless you enjoy the flavor of a bombed out Eastern Bloc back room with flickering lights and a TV blaring Soviet era war movies and the elderly whispering in Russian. An unusual dining experience to say the least, where they tell you where to sit, when to order, and when to speak (which is never, no one spoke but more than a few whispered words during my hour long lunch). I felt like I was in the owners' home for movie night after Bingo. That said, the food was what might be served in babushka's kitchen - with homemade pickles and salad fresh from her garden. So that's what a tomato tastes like! I had forgotten! The hummus tasted homemade and the lula kabob was hot and charred over an open flame, oozing juices. Great Turkish/Armenian coffee for desert. There are certainly far more fun options for Russian food in LA. It's safe to say this is the least festive restaurant I've been to. Maybe ever. But you will be hard pressed to find better Russian food in town - in spite of its rather limited menu and "charming" ambiance. About the owners: They are older, speak little English (so order in Russian if you can). They are not rude, just a little gruff at first and warm up quickly. I look forward to next time!

Azelia K.

Yelp
The only thing that was kind of good here was the lula Kabab. I had ordered manti and the lula kabab plate. The manti was subpar, I make it better and that's not being conceited but my flavorful manti is by far the best manti I've ever tried (my hubby seems to agree). The guy that owned this place was friendly but frugal. He gave us one bottle of water to share amongst the three of us. It was a Kirkland water bottle, the one that comes in that pack of 30 something. Yes, that tiny thing. The rice along with the lula kabab plate tasted a bit spoiled like it was out all day yesterday and today and the vermicelli pieces were hard. I don't think I'll be coming back. Ohhh and btw, for those two items, it was $30 something... just a heads up.

Ambrus D.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. That is, is you are looking for a Georgian/ Eastern European spot to eat. It is authentic, not rude. Just don't expect them to be nice to you without first you being nice to them. I feel like some reviewers might have been fishing for some eastern flavored American place with American customer service. You won't find that here, this is as real as it gets. Delicious, fantastic food and awesome people with lots of character.

Kostyan K.

Yelp
The lamb chops were delicious but the potatoes seemed like it was old and they just used the last of it by end of the day. This place is old school don't expect someone to kiss your butt. They do things as they know.

Michael M.

Yelp
DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDING !!! On my first visit I had given them 5 stars * * * * * and posted the following review: "GREAT DEAL Tasty food, decent size portions, very inexpensive. I will write more detailed review latter. Definitely be back. " ******************************* The second time I visited them, I decided do not update my review, cause I was not satisfied with the portions. There were two of us, and we ordered 2 beef kabobs and 2 lamb chops kabobs. We wanted to eat over there and take the leftovers to go. Guess what? They downsized the portions. What was plenty - the country style fried potato. We could not finish potato, have no kabob left. Both of us are normal guys, not overweight and definitely not glutenous ! We also ordered a salad and 2 bottles of lemonade. The bill was for $106, I paid with a credit. Guess what? They brought the receipt and had already charged the card for $116. Explaining that they had forgotten to include the salad. I think they should've let me know first about "forgetting to include..." I thought OK, next time I would order just one kabob per person and pay with cash. GUESS WHAT ?!?!?! They out played me again :))) I came on Sunday afternoon at around 3:00 pm. Parked my car at their parking. A worker came and locked the door right in front of me, saying I could not eat inside and had to order to go, pointing to the back of the building. OK... I went over there and the grill master has told me he would take my order not earlier than in ONE HOUR !!! Apparently they were short on staff ! REALLY ?!?! He was talking to me like I owed him. Lack of customer service !!! Very sophisticated way to attract more new customers and keep they old ones wanting to come back. GUESS WHAT ?!?! I HAVE LEFT. I will find a better place to spent my money ;)))

Jahcobie C.

Yelp
I had a huge salad leftover for my work holiday party last night. I was trying to stomach it and force myself to finish eating it. Something was missing from the day old salad, there was a flavor that was really needed. I suddenly remembered the chicken on the salad made it so much better, pretty much elevated it to perfection. I finally figured out what would make it the perfect leftover salad- kabobs! I'm a huge fan of Middle Eastern food- like I can just keep eating and eating. I always imagine myself marrying into a family that loves to celebrate around food. Plus middle eastern men are hot. To the food. I parked on the street outside of Kavkaz. I had called earlier to check on the prices and can confirm the prices on yelp pics are valid. I first originally went inside and seen such a decadent dining room space, very well decorated and packed for efficiency. The tables were beautiful and had arranged lien draping from the inside out. I was instructed that for to-go I had to go around to the side. I went around to side and after the owner (I'm guessing) got off the phone I asked him a few questions. I wanted a pound of kabobs but wanted to try the lulu chicken and lulah beef. I asked if I could do half pound each and said yes. I put in my order and he told me it would be 15 mins. He cooks the food of charcoal grill, fresh right after you order it. 15 mins later, I paid and rushed home trying not to tear into the box while driving to eat it. I got home and loved the presentation and the meat made my mouth water. I enjoyed the lavash bread and onions that came with it. The chicken lulu was so juicy and every time I would cut into it the juice would pop out! The beef was cool, not the best but still very very good. The salad was perfect now- I could take some pickled veggies, kabob, onions, and salad and wrap it bit by bit in lavash- amazing! I happy I found a new place near me to get my fixin'. I don't understand the reviews about being rude! I'm from the East Coast and many times you don't get people being overtly happy to get praise from you. Eat the food, no one's rude, say please and thank you. 4/5 until I try some other things on the menu and also come back a few more times! Thank you Kavkaz

Ruby R.

Yelp
Where do I start? From the moment me and my family arrived, the lady owner was so rude. First time visit here. We found this place on Yelp and how it has 4 star reviews is beyond me. We are 9 people and the owner didn't want to put two tables together and told us to sit at two separate tables. My mother told her that we live in two states and this weekend was our chance to be together and that we wanted to have lunch together, not separately. She finally moved the tables together. She was not welcoming. Never smiled. Her Husband brought us one ripped up menu for the whole table to share...wow. We ordered a table of full of a variety of appetizers (we are vegetarians). She didn't like that and rudely said "no meat, no meat?!" At that point my mother told her she was really rude and we all got up to leave. Seriously EFF this place.

Lester S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for about 10 years food is always good...but yesterday I came and order the pork kebab plate...pork was great but the RICE was BAD...it looked creamy, like milky...I thought it was because of the meat juice but no...it had gone bad...I know they knew this, because they gave me way more rice than what they usually serve (maybe twice as much or more) and they gave me 5 pieces of meat , when they only serve 4....like they were making it up for me, for giving me rotten rice...that rice gave me a stomach ache...obviously after eating 4 spoons I noticed it was bad and threw it away....I don't know if I'm ever going back there again.

mariam g.

Yelp
The most horrible place and rude, angry owner!!!!!!Run away from this place. We were in Los Angeles and decided to go to the Kavkaz. We came in and there was no one there. Then later one old armenian men came from the kitchen and said we closed, go away, we aren't open. We were shoked! Then I asked him maybe he knows other place where we could eat armenian food and he said I dont know and turned away and left....First, if your restaurant is closed put up a closed sign. Second, say sorry, apologize and nicely say that I forgot to put up the closed sign, come later or something like that. At least be nice..... !!!! SHAME ON YOU! !!!!! Worst experience ever!

Don J.

Yelp
Poor customer service. Very poor Ordered from here a few times. The people on the phone are horrible Seriously hire someone that will handle the phone you are losing customers ..... They give you attitude. They do not let you place an order on your time. And tell you they are busy. Just because your order isn't big enough. Seriously ? Why do you even have a menu then ? Very wack !!!!!

Sabi A.

Yelp
Poor service we drove all the way from different state and we were so excited to come try this place, but as soonest we walked in they told us they were closed at like 1pm lunch time !!!! Rude and unacceptable !!

Ryobi W.

Yelp
Clean establishment and friendly staff. The food was just okay. The cabbage salad was very oily.. I dont know that I would come again for the food. However the people are very warm and welcoming.

Giorgi T.

Yelp
The best shashliki in los angeles. 3 portion for 2 guys is perfet, with onions and lavash. Highly recommended to try shashliki. I often order from kavkaz. Never dissapointed.

Lidiya M.

Yelp
Here's the thing--the service is really horrible if you don't speak a language that the owners do (i.e. Russian or Armenian). You will get misunderstood and the language barrier will pose a problem. You won't get refills or babied at your table because that's not the Eastern European way; you order what you want (in a very straight forward manner), you ask for what you want when you want it (e.g. "may I have more water, please?"), and you have to get the attention of your server. Oh well. That's life. Order take out if anything. The food makes this place worth it. It's truly delicious kabob and lula kabob and hummus and potatoes and rice. Mouth-watering, finger-looking authentic cuisine. My mom reminisced about some time she spent in Armenia when she ate here with me. And it's affordable! The two of us had an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks for $25. Very reasonable. Depends on what cuts of meat you get, of course, but I noted that the pork was tender and the chicken was white breast meat. Choice! The pilaf was a very good side, albeit on its own it would've been slightly bland. The vegetable salad was crisp and well-dressed; a nice light accompaniment to the meal. And the hummus...man! A little homemade hummus and lavash and I'm a happy girl. Give it a try! Parking is a bit difficult; their lot only has two spots, but the owner assured me that you can park at the market in the back and have no problems. It's free, but space is limited. The place accepts cash and cards, and as far as I understood there was no minimum charge. Heads up--they only serve bottled water and beverages, so the cost goes up and there are no refills on standard American drinks (cokes, water, etc.). I'd definitely recommend coming here with a Russian or Armenian friend--at least the first time. But if you've got a backbone, give it a go alone and taste how awesome this place is.

Yelp
I came a few months ago on Sunday evening but it closed at 7 pm. Last Sunday I and my boyfriend had a chance to come here again for lunch. The parking lot is on the left side of the plaza beside 101 Freeway sharing with bakery and Armenian market. There are small about 5 tables inside and 2 tables outside and had TV for guys who want to watch some sports. I chose Chicken lula kebab. It usually comes with salad and rice. I chose potato fries instead of rice. My boyfriend chose lamp ikibir. We were going to order some more, but the waitress who I think she is an owner's wife told me to hold on because the food we ordered would come in a big amount. And, it's true... I could not finish it even though the kebab is so delicious. It's home-made, so it's so soft and yum!! I love it!!! When the lady waitresses gave me the bill, she asked me kindly like my mom ..lol... why I didn't finish the food.. it's not delicious? (she asked me in Russian, but I can guess..lol... my boyfriend translated for me too.) After lunch, we stopped by the bakery which is good too. I'll write review later :)

Whitney C.

Yelp
Had a lunch here with my armenian friend. Salad was good, but lamb chops were no so great. Some were charred, some pieces bloody.

SweetM B.

Yelp
I hate the reviews on Here! I am from out of town. This place had amazing food was great and 2 elderly Armenian speaking couple were super nice. I could see most reviews are based on language barrier but whatever it's like walking into an Asian place and they don't understand wth I am ordering!!! Same concept. This place has amazing bbq as well as xinkali.

Hro O.

Yelp
Best Armenian Barbecue in town. Sturgeon steaks Lamp chops and Chicken lula are the best choice.

Yelp
Me and my friend have been in this place 2 month ago. And I was dissatisfied of this costumer service .i was waiting my order 50 min. My server was very rude with me. When we finish we ask to split the bill and my friend leave 5$ as a tips but I decide that this service do not deserve even 5$. When we get out server run after me and push me to leave them tips. I am very disappointed in this place.

Yelp
Fantastically fresh, kind generous people providing some tastiest kabobs this city has to offer. Will be returning every time now I need a bite off the 101. Don't let the run down post World War Two decor and feel and you'll leave pleasantly with a happy tummy.

Yelp
Perfect mom and pop if you want some homemade food. Being on the road all the time, it's hard to get a wholesome meal.

Yelp
I love this place, have been coming here for years. It has changed from Golden Fork to Kavkaz and has changed management but the quality of the food has always been amazing! I didn't feel like cooking, so I called my order in and picked it up within 30 minutes for a family get together. The kebabs were juicy and cooked to perfection!

Yelp
Listen up, folks, 'cause I'm gonna school ya. It's listed as a Russian restaurant, and according to our dining companion, that's right on the money, not just for the food, but the service. Like no other restaurant I've been to, this place has a protocol. The listing says it closes at 9pm. Ignore that. If you walk in off the street after 6pm you will be turned away, so get there EARLY. Yelp has a photo of the menu online, so use that to figure out what you want to eat before you get there because - get ready for this - they only have one menu. We had five people in our group and needed another chair and place setting, but they didn't seem particularly interested in getting one for us. No problem, we just pulled them from a nearby table. About a third of the menu items we ordered weren't available, so we made alternate choices. They might not have your favorite beverage in stock, so be ready to choose another one. In short - BE FLEXIBLE. The food? It was out of this world. Between us, we ordered the beef, lamb and chicken kabobs, and beef and chicken Lula (it's like a casing-less sausage) that was absolutely delicious. The portions? HUGE. The price? TINY. Like, fourteen bucks (I think) for two huge skewers of meat, plus some sort of pickled persian cucumber and tomato salad that was excellent, and seasoned fried potatoes. Two responsible people could share an entree and not walk away hungry. We started with hummus, Greek salad, cabbage salad and eggplant salad to share between us, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. We walked out of their door feeling as if we'd just come back from a trip to Russia. The language barrier and the all the little caveats make this is a challenging place to eat, but it is SO worth it! If I didn't live halfway around the country I'd tell all my friends about this place, and eat here at least once a month. HIGHLY recommended!

Yelp
Great lamb kebab. Friendly owners. There is one thing I hate about this place: it's a TV-set that blasts some drama soap operas all the time which makes it impossible to relax and eat in peace. That's why 3 stars. Other then that, the food is good.

Yelp
Kebabs are amazing. Sweet old couple runs this place and they make the best home cooked meal you could ask for. They also play Russian soap operas, which stimulate me in many ways.

Yelp
THE WORSE customer service ever. I went to this place with my friend. We were served 2 or 3 days old kebab and their lavash (bread) so very very old. When we asked the old lady (worker with an attitude) to bring us a fresh salad (tomatoes with cucumbers)first she said she is too lazy to make one and then she brought us couple of different leftover salads from their previous party.DO NOT trust or even waste your time reading other 5 star reviews because they are FAKE!!! or probably have been written by their relatives. Only stupid people would go their to waste their money.

Yelp
Cousine is perfect! But the Customer service is not that good as their food. Servers were a little bit rude with costumers.
