"Serious home cooks flock to this Japanese grocery for sushi supplies and the freshest fish, but the sushi bar is also a solid lunch destination. The menu is pretty simple, including rolls, chirashi bowls, and tempura udon, and the price is right — it’s easy to dine here for less than $15." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Good quality sushi rolls for a fraction of the cost. Great customer service from the lone employee too. The menu is limited and they don’t have all the items they used to have. Check their instagram for their current menu.

Google
The calamari sushi was unique and something I had never tasted. I enjoyed the mix of textures with the crunch and flavor. I just stumbled upon this place, but if I am ever nearby, I'd definitely come again. They have some Japanese dishware also on sale and unique Japanese drinks and snacks I'd never tried or heard of before. I even saw a few Hawaiian products. There were not a lot of customers, so the service was quick with an easy order menu you fill out on a card. I wish I had taken pictures of my order, but I was hungry and delved right in!

Google
K. It's a grocery store. Actually, it's more of a wholesaler I think. But it's a fun small store. Ignore that part. This is the most legit lunch sushi you can find in Dallas. Period. And, it's very reasonably priced. Amazing.

Google
Why aren't customers allowed in the store? I have driven a significant distance to get there twice and been turned away both times. Once during covid and again today. So, forget it. --- Update: Sorry I was so pissy. I am sure this place is great. It is true, I am a monster...😥

Shawna

Google
Amazing made to order sushi and lots of Japanese and Hawaiian foods and products to choose from in the grocery section.

Google
This place is over rated !!! The food isn't anything special. It's small and closes early. The bathroom is clean. They have some cool stuff in like a grocery store kind of setting but it's over very priced compared to other Asian markets with and even bigger variety for cheaper. The actual restaurant part is cheap and it seems to me that this is the best part of kazys ... The price ... The staff when I went in here was very clueless and just didn't want to help. I won't be coming back here

Google
5.08.23 The store front is currently under remodeling construction. You can still call in your order or park and wait for one of the guys to walk up to your car and take the order. I think you can also order online but I didn't do that. The kitchen is taped up but functional. The kitchen is still open for business W-F 11-3p per the attendant but it operates as to go/ takeaway only. Again you can call it in. Their restaurant supply business was still making deliveries happen. They are expecting another two (2) months of construction. So maybe July 2023 for reopening? See photos of the empty place.

I have lived in Dallas for almost 5 years and had some trouble looking for Hawaiian Portuguese breakfast sausage. I had it all the time growing up & I have been looking for years and finally stumbled upon Kazy’s gourmet shop through a Facebook post from someone who posted they purchased from here in 2020. I picked up a few a couple of days ago and it was definitely worth the wait. I was so excited to tell my family & friends who also live here and they are so excited to make their purchase as well. I hope this shop never stops selling this, because it is so hard to find. It is so nice to have a store that serves the Asian/Pacific Islanders community as well. They are only doing curbside pick up, but they are so kind. Once I got there someone came out to assist & there was another gentleman who approached my car just to make sure I was taken care of. There was no wait time at all. I can’t wait for their store to re open so I can make regular purchases, but definitely always coming back for the breakfast sausage lol.

Yelp
Kazy's just re-opened in 2024. I was so excited to hear this news because last time I tried this shop years ago it was FANTASTIC! I'm happy to report they are still serving amazing, FRESH sushi. Dare I say... some of the freshest in Dallas. Each of their rolls are served in 4 pieces which is great because you can try lots of different rolls. Here is what I ordered and how I'd rate: - Spicy salmon (7/10) - Jalapeño (7.5/10) - Lady bird; yellowtail (8/10) - LBJ; shrimp tempura (9/10) - California (10/10) - Salmon avocado (10/10) - Eel (10/10) The shop not only has the sushi bar/restaurant but offers lots of authentic Japanese food and ingredients in their market area - think sushi grade tuna, eel, tobiko, Sailor Moon soda, mochi and more! They also sell Japanese pottery, chopsticks and fun sushi candles. It's just an awesome vibe! My only tip is to order ahead; they can get really busy and it's a small business so you may have an unexpected wait (I think I waited 20 minutes past when they said it would be ready). Nonetheless, it was soooo worth it! :)

Yelp
I come here when I need some local food from Hawaii they have renoldo's port sausage and red hot dogs, lau lau and other stuff I grab from the islands. I am happy we have them here! Prices are a little higher but it's understandable. Nothing to complain about always fast service.

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Excellent sushi: super fresh & straightforward. When you use good ingredients & fresh fish, you don't need to have over the top fancy rolls. Came here on a recommendation from someone else & so glad I did because I never would have thought to stop here just driving by. Will definitely be back!

Kelly L.

Yelp
We just drove there and a man at the parking lot told us it is closed and won't be open until 2024. There is major construction on 635 and especially around that area. Next time I would get 9ff Greenville and not listen to my GPS!

Dave A.

Yelp
Incredible sushi spot as an amazing price. While their food is next level and the service is good, they're grossly lacking in ambiance as I have to wait in my car to take my food to go. For some reason, these guys have never moved on from their fear of COVID, hence only giving a 4 star review.

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Used to come here all the time. Today, despite the "OPEN" sign being lit, I was met outside and told the business was closed and the building was for sale.

Brian Q.

Yelp
I've been going to Kazy's for 12 years now and while it has undergone several changes over the years from interior renovations to menu changes, one thing hasn't changed, it's still a good place to get some decent sushi or Japanese food at a discount price. Kazy's is primarily a fish distributor and Japanese market but they also have a small restaurant inside. You order at the cash register and they call your number when it's ready. I'm disappointed that they got rid of all the nirgiri options but they do offer churashi bowls now with salmon, tuna, and/or hamachi. The sushi rolls here are smaller than other places (4 pieces per order), but most the rolls aren't very expensive which allows you to get a larger variety if you are dining solo. The chicken teriyaki is pretty good, but my chicken was a bit dry during my last visit - as if I had been presliced an hour earlier and left under a warmer or reheated in an oven. They also have udon noodles, miso soup, and a few other appetizer items which I've never had any complaints about. For dessert, the green tea ice cream is a new addition which I haven't had the opportunity to try yet. It's not the best Japenese food/sushi in town or a fancy place to take a date, but I'm still a big fan of Kazy's for a quick, affordable work lunch.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Kazy's was one of my earliest Yelp reviews (nearly ten years ago!), and I'd been coming here for over ten years before that! But wow, I just visited for the first time in a while (as I no longer live in Dallas)! So much has changed from the days of the yellow awnings, tiny kitchen and busy metal shelves. First, the look of the place! Now painted slate blue with bamboo blinds, and the caricature fishmonger prominently featured on the side of the building, it looks very sleek and up to date, as do the wood shelves, large wooden tables for dining in, and refrigerator cases spanning one wall. The kitchen is about three times bigger, and the front counter repositioned as well. The hours of the sushi bar have also been reduced. Products included all manner of Japanese food and cooking items, as well as snacks (mostly at the front counter), plus an array of Hawaiian foods, and even Japanese cosmetics like Dolly Wink mascara, Palty hair dye, and camellia oil. Food was still good, though dine-in chicken teriyaki is served on a plate rather than the old donburi bowl. Gotta say I miss the chicken being cut into chunks rather than strips; easier to eat with chopsticks! Tuna sashimi came on a glass dish full of ice and was very fresh. The menu has been streamlined since the past, but they are featuring past favorites from the old menu as specials, like the unagi eel rolls I also got. There was a brisk lunch crowd (mostly guys, so ladies take note, haha). The kitchen staff were bustling to serve everyone speedily. If you wonder why the stock and menu seem pared down, it may be because Kazy's is doing wholesale business in several states; a Dallas friend said she's seen their trucks around town multiple times. The young man at the front counter was friendly and helpful; enjoyed chatting with him for a moment when the rush calmed down. Kazy himself passed away a few years ago, but his benevolent presence is still here in the form of a large, smiling photo near the front and in the bones of this long-standing Japanese store. May it last forever; I'll be back any time I'm in Dallas.

Jackson G.

Yelp
Got Hooked up close to 20$ for .7lbs of tuna and .4 of salmon. Came while they were closed on accident and they were nice enough to come out and still get me. I'll definitely be back Thank You.

David T.

Yelp
I haven't been down to Kazy's in a few years. We stopped in on a visit to some family and it's just as delicious as I remembered. We had edamame, a couple of Chirashi bowls, a few rolls, and an udon soup. The girls said the fireball and spicy tuna rolls were the best. They enjoyed shopping for Japanese items in their store. Next time we're in town we'll be back

Karen W.

Yelp
We love this place. It's sad they pared down their menu but we still love it. Our kids love the udon, California roll, LBJ roll, salmon avocado roll. We also like to pick up large pieces of sashimi and take it home. We can easily take off the skin and cut. It's always so fresh. Solid every time.

Yolanda H.

Yelp
This is my favorite stop for sushi. The shop is always well known for fresh fish/seafood for things that are well beyond my cooking skills. The prices are ridiculously reasonable. About 2-3 bucks for a roll. They recently reduced the sushi bar menu and I sorely miss the bento box but all was not lost.

Kyle O.

Yelp
Did curbside pickup and they had the Hawaiian products I was looking for! I ordered a lot of Portuguese Sausage and some Aloha Shoyu. Will definitely be coming back and can't wait till they open the inside.

Jordan N.

Yelp
Ok, I came here by chance, since I had to go to the post office nearby as it was the only one open on Saturdays. I didn't even remember that this place was here, but driving past it, I knew I had to stop by after I was finished with my errands. So I stopped by for lunch. It's third market, third kitchen, and third tables. So basically the market was kinda small, but it has everything you'd want in a Japanese place (at least, I'd hope so). In the middle of it all is a cashier station, and that's where you order the food, or make your purchases. The woman behind the counter wasn't exactly the friendliest person, but she's not a Japanese Nazi either. She is just not the smiling, attentive kind and doesn't make much of a conversation with customers. I looked over the menu, which is by the cashier (if you look at the menu above the kitchen, that aforementioned lady would call on you to get back to the cashier and look at the menu over there), and decided that on this chilly day, I'd get ramen. And when the ramen came out, it was just barely ok. If you're used to getting ramen by the subway stations in Tokyo, maybe this could compare, but this is not restaurant-quality ramen. It's the ramen of the working class, and unfortunately, after having so many bowls of better ramen bowls, this one is a miss. A bit too salty, poor choice of thin noodles, few pieces of thin and overcooked meat (and mine was even clumped, shriveled together), few pieces of veggies, and a whole lotta of liquid broth. But at, what, $5.99 a bowl, I guess, you get what you pay for, since most ramen bowls in this city are double the price. As it stands, I probably should have scoured the reviews and followed Tiffany D's recommendations since her experience seems to parallel mine. I'll have to come back to try her suggestions of the karaage chicken bites, fireball roll, miso soup, and chicken curry bowl. But yes, if you're wanting to go out, can't find a dining partner, need to eat something that's different from your usual routine, and want to spend the least amount of money possible (this place is really dirt cheap), then this place could be an option - but be careful with what you order since there's only a few things to really enjoy. Avoid the ramen.

Wendy T.

Yelp
So my taste buds might have been a little messed up the day I went, because I thought the sushi was pretty darn fishy @.@ and I *never* complain about fishy seafood! But kudos to their wasabi, which was one of the most potent I've ever had, yummy~~ I'll stick to the yummy looking curry bowls next time I come :) The big thing for me at Kazy's is their selection of ceramic plates! :D Need a fancy serving dish, a cute rice bowl, or a teapot gift set? They have it! There's a small selection in the grocery area, but they have tons more upstairs (just ask where the stairs are)! Really fun to browse ^^b They also sell those plastic sushi to-go containers and take out boxes~

James P.

Yelp
Kazy's is a solid sushi supplier and does a good job with its customer service. I wouldn't recommend eating here though unless it's convenient. They just have your basic Japanese food.

Ashley W.

Yelp
We have been coming to Kazy's for years now. They shut down for a bit for renovations but the kitchen is back and better than ever. Sure, the super way low prices raised a tad, but honestly, it's great sushi (and well proportioned too), for a great price. I love Salmon, so I got 2 salmon avocado rolls (4 pcs each) and a Philadelphia roll (salmon, cream cheese and cucumber, 4pcs). I couldn't finish everything, and I was sad I didn't have room left for dessert. Next time! Kazy's does get quite busy during lunch hours. We arrived around 11:45am, right before the rush. We were able to snag a small table in the corner. There is window seating as well as 5-6 tables. If you don't have time, call ahead. So much easier. Overall, great quality sushi (this is the seafood supplier for many restaurants in the area) at a great price. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
REVIEW FOR STORE ONLY NOT RESTAURANT. This is a great place for Japanese items but more so it's a great place for Hawaiian Island Food items. I'm going to slip into Hawaiian Pidgin for all the Hawaii transplants living in or near Dallas. Eh Brah try speck dis place out. Dey get manapuas. Freaking MANAPUAS. Da real Hawaiian kine too. Golden Coin Brah. So ono just like small kid days. Also get Lau Lau, da same frozen kine dey always get out here in the da mainland but what you going do? Also get Kalua pork, Portagee sausage, mochi, Japanee kine snacks and candies. Oh yeah and had Poi too. Oh brah wen we went find dis place it was like one treasure trove. No joke, was like da time my tutu wen hit big in Vegas! No Zippy's frozen kine stuffs. Kinda pricey yeah but you know since dey stay out here make sense. So for all you Locals out here who stay ono for some local grinds, stay go Kazy's. Your opu going tank you. Standard English. Kazy's also has a nice selection of Hawaiian food items, including Hawaii style Bao, Lau Lau, Poi, Sausage and Kaula Pork to name a few. Items were a little high priced but considering the distance they've traveled it totally makes sense. As Hawaii transplants my wife and were very excited by their selection. Excellent place to go to pick up some authentic Hawaiian Island Food items for your next Luau or Hawaiian themed party.

Vincent S.

Yelp
I don't often leave reviews but I had to for Kazy's. This place is a Dallas institution and I place it in the same high regard as Jimmy's Italian Food Store and Kuby's. Its been some time since ive visited but their grocery items and food service have been phenomenal. Im greatly looking forward to the day where they reopen their cafe. Where I can enjoy a comforting bowl of udon, their LBJ roll, and purchase some curry to make at home. you Kazy's.

Steve S.

Yelp
I've been going to Kazy's for 20 years, and it's changed a lot over that time. Today, it's each of these things: 1. Sushi restaurant: They make some of the best and cheapest sushi in town, served to go or dine in, upstairs in a comfy space or downstairs in an open area by the market. 2. Asian Market: staple groceries are offered (dried, packaged, and frozen), including some of the most unique noodles (ex:buckwheat soba in the freezer), fish (also frozen), and affordable, unique plates and cups for very reasonable prices. 3. Wholesale Fish Market: behind swinging doors in back of the store, a great place to get bulk flying fish roe, uni, and many other sushi-related treats. Kazi's supplies many sushi restaurants in the area, so it has serious creds and solid performance over time. Go check it out, and I'll bet you find something you love, and many reasons to return back soon.

Nga N.

Yelp
Cheap Japanese food that satisfied my tummy during lunch time. Most rolls are less than $5. Rice bowls around $5. Bento for $7 and $10. Nigiri around $1 a piece. Ramen and udon for $4. $1 for one scope of green tea ice cream. Can you beat that? I like coming here for lunch, but the food takes a long time sometimes. They can be very slow and inefficient, which annoyed me b/c they have plenty of help in the kitchen. Beside that, the food is good enough. The ramen is probably the best thing here. The squid salad is good. The rolls are decent. The green tea is strong with matcha flavor, but still good. And since they supply sushi grade fishes for many Japanese restaurants around the area, you'd think their fishes are really good, but it's just average. I'd skip the nigiri. They also have Japanese snacks which I love. Most snacks are green tea flavor so that's a plus. You can also get green tea Kit Kat here, just FYI. For the price and decent food, can't really complain.

Jon D.

Yelp
Food: this place is awesome! So close to really being in Japan again! The greatest prices for some super good quality food! Store: While they have a lot of good stuff and I would love to buy some. I cannot bring myself to pay such high prices for stuff I can order online, you know?

Julio R.

Yelp
I really like how quant this place is. I gave it a 4 star because the sushi isn't great but it's good and their teriyaki bowl is good. The price and "hole in the wall" feel is what makes this place a go to spot for me. You aren't gonna have your socks blown off by the food here but you aren't going to break the bank either for some good food. It has a total of maybe 7 tables and has a convenient store setup up as well so you can come look for some Asian products that may be hard to find anywhere else. I only come for the food so I haven't done any shopping at the little store part. Looks like they are a fish vendor as well judging by my curious peeks to the back. Overall it's close to where I love and easy and cheap if I want some sushi. I have been here a few times.

Tu H.

Yelp
Love this place! great prices on sushi and their udon portion was huge and good. It's a cute little cafe inside a grocery store. i think it's also a wholesale fish market because I do see a lot of people coming in to buy fish by the pounds. For the price i think it's worth trying and eating here! :)

Mel N.

Yelp
The price is good for what you get. I paid around $10 for about 16 pieces of sushi. The seaweed salad is at a good price too (I didn't buy it though). Some of my sushi pieces were falling apart though. I got a shrimp tempura one and the tempura wasn't crispy. I was surprised to find that there were no Asian people in the store (the sushi makers as well as the cashier and the guests), so this is probably not an authentic experience, but a good place to get a quick sushi fix. I'd probably skip the actual market because there are a ton of other Asian stores in the area with better prices.

Edwin S.

Yelp
Overall (2.4 stars composite score): Come here for tasty bites at a great price. Don't expect fast or friendly service though. In life, you usually can only pick two from good, fast, or cheap. Food/Drink (60% 1.5 star total): Food was great and very reasonably priced . Delicious hand made gyoza. Super fresh fish in my Nigiri. Salmon was very nice and real crab was a treat. Rice bowls however aren't so good. Meats are overcooked and in some, the meats portions are skimpy. Service (20% of 1.5 star total): Order took too long to be made. I got some attitude from the kitchen when I asked if the order was ready. "We're busy", with a look of contempt, was what I received. This really upset me, as it's unnecessary to speak to customers in this tone. Lady behind the counter was impatient and was rude when I asked questions about the food menu. Really failed in the customer service department. I wonder if complacency makes them this way. Value (60% of 1 star total): Prices are very affordable. I would have given a better value score, but only the fish is worth coming for. Any of the bowl items are average and you can pass on them, no matter how cheap they are. Atmosphere (60% of 1 star total): Clean Bathroom and functional seating setup.

Lara C.

Yelp
We love coming here for a budget friendly & tasty lunch :) don't expect to be in and out quickly - it does take a bit for the food to come out but you can always call and place an order Togo or cater too! We spent around 20 bucks for lunch - we ordered a lot.

Juan G.

Yelp
https://kazysgourmetdallas.wixsite.com/mysite NOW DELIVERING GROCERIES !!

Chris F.

Yelp
Food is great and place is pretty cool especially if your looking for hard to find Asian food/treats but the old lady at the counter can be a major dick. If you want more business and happy customers, get a new friendlier, more accommodating, and happier employee working the front. Other than that, this place would be 5 stars from me. Was gonna buy some goods to take home but I'd rather not put up with her.

Ivy W.

Yelp
I can't get over how cheap this place is!! If you're looking for a one-stop, cheap but decent quality Japanese food, this place is it. You can spend less than $10 and walk out with a food baby. Process: 1) Fill out your menu and pay at the register 2) Grab your condiments and utensils at the counter 3) Sit down and wait for your number to be called They have the regular nigiri selection (tuna, salmon, squid, etc...), cooked and raw rolls, and entrees such as curry, iron, and pork cutlet. They even have green tea ice cream! I think their sushi is very good for the price you pay. However, my boyfriend got the kobe gyoza and pork cutlet bowl and hated it :( The "restaurant" is located in a Japanese convenient store. It's a little tucked away right off the highway. You would never guess it was a sushi joint. They sell everything from household appliances, groceries, to make up & skincare. It's such a simple and cozy place. Music consists of the chef singing and chatter around the room. There aren't many decorations, and it's not like the staff is going to serve you on their hands and feet. But I personally love a chill/simple environment with decent sushi all for $10 and under. Parking is limited and the food takes a little longer to come out.

Theresa K.

Yelp
This is an out of the way, road less traveled location Japanese Food Store on Marksville (off Greenville Ave, and the LBJ service road. They have a eatery inside where you fill out a sheet that you order from, pay, get a number and wait for your order to be freshly made and prepared. All ingredients are 100% fresh and delicious. The sushi I ordered was the California Roll made with FRESH crabmeat. You get 4 for $2. I ordered a dozen for $8 and ate every last one! It included fresh ginger and Wasabi. You can't get a dozen Sushi of this quality, for this price ANYWHERE! The other items on the menu are equally delicious. Order to go or sit at the picnic type tables inside. Roam around the unique store and try some of the interesting candies or desserts. The Japanese KitKats are soooo good! Do yourself a favor and explore this Japanese Store. You've passed it hundreds of times and never knew what you've been missing if you enjoy Japanese cuisine. It's not at all fancy, but it is amazing! It is a fun Japanese store to shop and browse.

Eric T.

Yelp
Quick review: I do not see the rave on this place. Food quality is boring. They may be cheap, but I feel like the they really not that cheap because of the amount they serve for the prices. I did not try the nigiri, maybe that is the best that they offer. I tried tonkatsu ramen. While the broth was good, the noodle might have been from those fresh prepackaged ones. The meat was thinly slicked pork, but not enough... only about 4 slices. This is probably something I can make at home. I got the fireball roll. 4 pieces for $2. Quality was meh, and it was not made nicely.

Francesca L.

Yelp
I went there before because I had heard good things, but my friend that was meeting me was turned off it being "too hole in the wall". Going in there, it's not a very attractive place..dusty Japanese lucky cats and packaged food piled all over the place, but it really reminds me of anyplace you can see in Hawaii for example. It's a small Japanese grocery store with a food counter. This time I went with someone who wasn't scared of the atmosphere, whew! I ordered the LBJ roll (shrimp tempura with avocado, cucumber, and sweet sauce), veggie roll, tamago (egg), and another roll (yellowtail and green onion). I spent $8.50, the rolls were all very small (i think 4 pieces), but I guess it's slightly about the price you pay in the grocery store for a prepackaged sushi set. I would go back if I just wanted a quick lunch or early dinner to eat with one other person or by myself. The grocery store part is just too pricey compared to going to any other larger Asian market. Note* only credit cards for purchases over $10

Merlinda I.

Yelp
There is always exactly one lone parking spot in their teeny tiny lot which is just waiting for my teeny tiny car - it was fate from the start. While this place is mostly known in restaurant communities as the fish supplier for many sushi restaurants across the metroplex, as well as a purveyor of many Japanese groceries and kitchenware, it's the sushi I go for . Why not just go to the source y'all? I will say that I took a colleague once and have also brought takeout sushi home for the roomies who weren't as impressed. To put it lightly, they're insane in the membrane. I love this place. Love. Another one of my favorite loner lunches when I don't feel like going to Chipotle, Bop House or Jersey Mike's with the work lunch bunch. As many have mentioned, the rolls are served in 4-piece quantities but they are still dang cheap. The eel roll and the fire ball roll (simply salmon, hot mustard and cucumber) are my go tos and I also enjoy the tempura udon bowl and the curry bowl (both less than $5 and $4 respectively). Often times I just go for a sushi combo and a $0.75 huge cup of miso soup. My favorite is the Denton Combo which is a mere $8 for a nigiri sushi piece each of tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, salmon and eel - all ultra fresh plus a spicy tuna roll to boot. It's so beautiful it makes me want to openly weep. I haven't actually purchased any dishes yet as I figure I should probably take the sushi rolling mat that I purchased two years ago out of it's plastic bag before I financially commit any more resources to my lofty sushi making goal. They definitely look high quality and well priced though. I do buy eel sauce and dried shitake mushrooms here on occasion though - not cheap nor expensive. I do think their sesame oil is cheaper than normal though! Or maybe I've just been getting gypped on sesame oil my whole life. Ehh. So just go, don't pass judgement on the meager and humble interior, and enjoy!

I was craving sushi one day after work and decided to hit this place up. The place is super small with limited parking, but I found a spot so it wasn't too bad. When walking in, I went up to the cash register. There were forms there that you fill out and hand to the cashier. She then hands it to the kitchen where they prepare your food. As I waited for my food, I walked around the store and checked out all the stuff they had for sale. It was like a mini convenience store. I ordered the Dallas combo and the volcano roll. The food came out quickly. Everything was super fresh. The volcano roll was full of crawfish. There was no skimping there. The Dallas combo had super fresh sushi. The fish tasted amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely come here again. Actually, I am planning to pick up some food here tomorrow after work lol.

Yelp
There are so many choices of oriental grocery packed in this tiny store! The food here is cheap and really good. The oyakodon was only $4.5 (I think) but the portion was so generous that it actually lasted me two meals. We also bought 1.5 lbs of sushi grade salmon, two servings of sushi rice, and a bundle of bells and whistles all for less than $30. Cut up the salmon at home and you can easily build a nice bowl of poke - better than any I've ever had in town - and insanely cheap! When I came here I made the crucial mistake of parking in the employee parking lot in the back, and I got trapped when I was leaving, since the staffs were loading their vans and trucks for the wholesale/catering business. I realized Kazy's is probably just a retail store front of a much bigger company - they have 4 vans and a semi all painted with Kazy's logo! My theory is that they actually supply to Japanese restaurants in town, which explains why the price here is so cheap and the fish so fresh, as we are buying directly from the distributor in a way. Oh and the staffs here are really friendly and nice too! other than the manager in the front, she could be a bit snarky if you don't know what you're doing in the store, but she's got a business to run and I respect that.

Yelp
You can't beat the prices here. Sure, it's nothing fancy, and they don't bring your sushi out on a giant wooden boat, but the sushi is delicious nonetheless, especially for the low low price. I loved the LBJ roll. The fireball roll was also good, but really spicy. I think my boyfriend cried a little after eating it. I also had the spicy teriyaki chicken. All in all, I was satisfied. I liked that while I was waiting for my food I could browse around the shop. They had a lot of cute stuff and a lot of delicious stuff as well, including a wide variety of ramune soda. In the end I think I payed more for soda than I did for sushi. So, if you want sushi and you don't have a lot of money, this is your place. If I lived closer I would go all the time.

Yelp
Bad bad bad, Stay away! Got the grilled salmon and almost threw it up on the spot, Asked to get something else instead of it, The lady in the front called the manager on the phone and she declined! Never coming back!

Yelp
The sushi-grade fish was AMAZING! It was so fresh and delicious! It was my first time making sushi and it was a hit! Thanks for having all the necessary items for us sushi lovers! I will definitely be coming back soon to get more. Also - the guy who answers the phone is always so nice and helpful. This place is a hidden gem. Due to covid no one is allowed inside now but I can't wait to go inside once it is open again! The restaurant inside also looks great!

Yelp
Cute small Japanese grocery store/mini restaurant right off 635. Non-existent customer service. As a matter of fact, the lady just stared at us when we walked in. No hello. No how are you? Nothing. Just a blank stare. CREEPY! Anyways, we got what we came there for and that's all. I noticed they have a small dining area too. Great spot to shop/eat for your sushi/sashimi fix, but don't expect much service (if any at all).

Yelp
Oh, velvety, buttery succulent salmon sashimi... If only I could have you to myself in my own home, instead of having to put forth this facade at public sushi restaurants that I am composed and calm while enjoying your awesomeness. What's that? You say I can? Could it be true?? Answer: YES! I just recently turned on to the idea of having sushi/salmon at home. Naturally I found Kazy's right away in all internet searches for such a thing in Dallas. Seems like everyone knows about Kazy's but me. Not one to waste time when food is involved, I went there straightaway. What a strange location this is--tucked away at the end of Markville (off of north Greenville) dead-ending into the LBJ access road, you can't miss the bright yellow awnings with squeezed-too-tight Arial font "GOURMET" letters printed on them. Inside is a smallish half-market, half-"chaat bar" where you *don't* step up to the counter, but instead approach the cashier island in the middle for an order blank. They'll make all kinds of good stuff for you and while you're waiting, you can shop for Japanese-specific grocery items. They have lots of good stuff jammed into just a couple little aisles of shelves. Also excellent freezer section. ANYWAY, after conferring with the staff, I walked away with a lovely big ol' portion of salmon--enough for two people and then some--for about $8!! Also nabbed some ruby-red tuna (it was more expensive--maybe $11 for a sizable portion). Got home, sliced up those bad boys and had at it! Wonderful! I've been back a couple of times and when I leave the place I feel like I've stolen something. All this wonderful treasure? For usually $8? Ha!--okay, whatever you say, sir! I have to go now! (sounds of footfalls decrescendo into the distance, then car door slams and engines revs and speeds away...)

Yelp
I went on early on a Saturday. I bought a bunch of rolls to go (to share with someone!). Anyway, it was good, good service, will be back! Make sure you pay attention to the hours the kitchen closes maybe an hour or so early.

Yelp
Awesome stuff. Coworker introduced me and I am hooked like hooked on phonics. Love to get hot with cold.

Yelp
Best kept secret in Dallas! This place has the freshest sushi (outside of crazy expensive places) and it's so inexpensive! There is a whole sale fish market upstairs and the street level is where you order. They also have a shop inside where you can buy some neat items from food to teapots! It's an awesome place to check out, I've had almost every sushi roll and it's always so yummy! They also have things like rice bowls and curry for the non sush eaters in the world (weirdos). Check this place out next time you want some sushi for an excellent price. My two cents, take it to go because they have limited seating.

Yelp
This place is very unassuming. The inside is nice and clean; great customer service. It's like a little Japanese store and sushi restaurant put together! You get the best of both worlds! The food takes a while, but it's well worth the wait. I recommend the rolls over anything else. Any rolls; you can't go wrong. You can taste that everything is made with fresh ingredients. My favorite is the salmon skin roll.

Yelp
We have come here many times for sushi The counter service has always been a little spotty not what I would call "friendly" The guys making the food are great though. We came in last night for an early dnner to findout they close at 3 now. They were not terribly apologetic either I might be back if I want Sushi for lunch. Two stars is for service, I would give the food four stars because it is always pretty fresh and the prices are good.

Yelp
This review is not about the restaurant portion of the store. If you want to just eat some cheap sushi at the restaurant, this is fine. If you want to make your own sushi or sashimi at home, then keep searching for some other place. What I was hoping to find was a nice Japanese market with decent selection of sushi grade seafood. I came here specifically because I read reviews saying you can buy fresh fish here, where many Japanese restaurants source their fish. I'm originally from the West Coast, so I'm used to go making my own chirashi and sashimi meals at home from fish I buy at Japanese markets. Kazy cannot help you there unless you are only interested in salmon and tuna. This is not really a grocery store. They sell knick knacks like bowls and some frozen stuff. (But they do have some cute pottery and bowls) Most of their fish is only available to commercial buyers. On the day I went, the only fish they sell directly to consumers for taking home was some very old and not at all fresh looking tuna and salmon. If you're looking to buy anything beyond those the most mainstream fishes then you're out of luck. At least 99 Ranch also sells octopus, squid, and even occasionally some uni. Whole Foods offers some limited selection of sushi grade fish. Ultimately, you can get the same things at other grocery stores without making a stop here (because it offers no additional selection) if it's out of your way.

Yelp
Been coming here since about 1999 and the prices haven't changed much, nor has the quality of the food. This is the best place in Dallas to get good sushi for cheap. Over the years the place has been drastically remodeled and made pretty on the inside (plus it's kept way cleaner now) but the bones of the place remain the same: order at the counter, eat, shop the Asian grocery. Not the place for ambience so if you want to drop $$$ and impress a date try Blue Fish or something. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 for 3 reasons: 1. the location at a busy service road intersection is kind of insane and you might get creamed entering or exiting, IF you can find a parking space. Speaking of which, 2. The space can't really handle crowding at all. It's small with limited seating. And 3. Most importantly: no sashimi. Lame.
