From Sacramento to Yosemite: How to Plan the Best California Gold Country Road Trip | Eater SF

"When we needed a place within walking distance for lunch while waiting for emergency car service, Kabob House beckoned with a meze plate of ground lamb‑stuffed dolmades and creamy hummus; the chicken kebabs were juicy with hints of garlic in the accompanying tzatziki, and the calming white‑washed walls and Grecian colonnaded statuary soothed everyone’s frayed nerves." - Christina Mueller

Absolutely stunning food, so fresh, and beautiful perfect flavors. The Eggplant saute with Kutabi was perfect to start. Every bite was a journey and the flavors were incredible and so unique. The lamb & lulya was so heartwarming and hit every right spot. So warm, filling but only in the best way. The Kavaz tea was a beautiful ending to a lovely meal. HOWEVER THE BORSCH WAS THE BEST THING IVE EVER (no exaggeration, no hyperbole) E V E R TASTED! Thank you to the family for being our first Azerbaijani experience. Will be back very soon!

What a hidden gem! You absolutely need to give this place a try! The food is amazing. Flat out the best taziki sauce and hummus I have ever had. I don't know how you can get any more authentic. I also don't know how this place wasn't packed! Seriously! We did have to wait a little while for someone to first greet us, and then waited a while for the check. That said, the woman waiting on us was very friendly, polite and attentive to our needs. I feel the prices are quite reasonable - we had 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 sweet and hot tea for $68. Look at these photos of the food! My gosh the food looked like something from a cooking show or magazine! I am here on business but my coworker says it usually very slow like tonight. I will try my best to come back every time I am in the area. Please, if you do go, leave a review for them. I think it is slow because people don't know about it. I would love to come back next time and see the place be busy.

This is one of my favorite local spots for chicken kabobs. The chicken is so tender and flavorful, the rice is fresh, and the amazing red sauce that comes with it really elevates the flavor. I’ve also tried the Turkish coffee before which I enjoyed, the baklava is great, and I tried the pita soup which was very good. I’ve brought friends here and they definitely said they would want to come again. I plan to come back for sure!

Loved their food. It is basically family owned establishments. I loved their service. The food is delicious, try dolma, and every kebab entry was just delicious. The host , she was so sweet and nice. I will go again.

Our friends and we always meet at "Kebob House". We joke: "The meeting place cannot be changed" (this is the name of a cult TV series from our past). We like the cuisine of three ancient nations: Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani, performed by the wonderful chef Greg. We know that the welcoming and hospitable owners of the restaurant, Greg and Nellie, will always be glad to see us, and we are always glad to come to them. We wish their business success, are ready to support it by often coming to them, and we invite others to do the same. Solomon & Galina

Grigorii cooks the best kebab around! We order from Grigorii all the time for family parties or just come in for any occasions! We had our wedding celebration in Kebob House, everything was great!

The food here is delicious and the service is great. It tastes homemade and has fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is friendly since it is family owned by those who cook and serve the food, so the owners seem to take great care to ensure that people enjoy it. It’s my favorite restaurant in this area.

I live in DC, and every time I visit my mom, who lives in the area, we go to Kebab House. My mom is very hard to please when it comes to restaurants, and this one is a favorite for both of us. To my taste, the kebab here is much better than other kebabs I’ve tried. This is probably because of the marinades they use, which you can taste in the meat, along with the smokey flavor from the grill. We also like many of the other menu items that are wonderfully prepared here, like Dolma (meat wrapped in grape leaves), Kutabi, eggplant salad, and Baklava for dessert. The prices here are very good too.
