KEDAI Indonesian Cafe

Really enjoyed my time here. I stopped in and tried their hot latte and the chicken skewers with rice, and everything was really good. The food tasted fresh and the latte was smooth and comforting. The atmosphere is great too. It’s a nice place to get some work done because it’s not too loud, but there’s still a good amount of people so it has a nice vibe. There are plenty of tables and lots of parking, which makes it really convenient. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the relaxing music made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back.

One of the most delicious dining options in Upland! If you're craving a meal that will keep you coming back, this is the place to visit. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. My favorites are the almond pastry paired with an iced mocha coffee made with coconut milk. Their prices are very reasonable compared to other spots. I highly recommend this place :)

This is a nice find for Indonesian food in Upland. I just tried their ox tail soup. Also orders the Sumatra coffee. Both were delicious and fantastic. Ox tail soup is just as you would like when mom made it for you. Vegetables and tomatoes sliced in were not overcooked and brings good texture to the soup. I will certainly try other dishes next time. On second visit I had their americano coffee. Since this place is a cafe the espresso based coffee are quite nice too. I came during off hours so this place might get crowded during peak hours. Parking at the strip mall looks adequate.

Food is absolutely amazing, we had the rice porridge, nasi goreng, and noodle soup and all were great. Even better were the pastries and prepared snacks. Highly recommend coming here, it’s worth the drive. Our only complaint would be there was a bit of unnecessary waste. Shrimp chips that came with the entree were served in a mini ziplock bag, for example, which is unnecessary.

Good place to go to if you want to have Indonesian food or really good soup. I had the oxtail soup, which comes with oat crackers and a bowl of rice. It had a flavor close to a combination of tomato soup and a rich beef soup. There is also another soup called soto betawi that I usually get. It uses coconut cream to get a creamy consistency. Highly recommend it. One bowl of soup is more than enough for two people, but if you're still hungry, I suggest getting an order of one of their sweets like an ube pancake or fried banana.

I drove by this place a couple times and was excited that a new Indonesian place was opening up. It's a really nice and cozy cafe that serves old school pastries, the kind I would eat in my childhood. When I moved to the States, you can't really find those pastel, kroket, risoles, or lemper, not many restaurant sells them, or even makes them from scratch. So when I saw all these pastries, I went crazy and I knew this place would fill the missing parts of my immigrant life here. I would say this is one of the only place that would bring back all those nostalgic memories before moving to LA and I would drive 1 hour just to get that fresh, made from scratch pastries. I haven't found any other Indonesian cafe that would bring back all my happy childhood memories of hanging out with my friends at a cafe, eating pastels & risoles with chili and sambal (the real one, not that fake wannabe bullcrap from HuyFong). Oh and the coffee? Stop going to Starbucks that serves fake coffee using Indonesian island as their name, you're better off going to the real place that serves the real, authentic, imported Indonesian coffee for the same price. If you have a doubt about this, my last name is Indonesian as hell, I grew up there, and I approve this as one of the most ethnic & authentic cafe. **Fast forward to now, June 2024. Kedai is still very special to me. I just came back from Indonesia, had the pastries (pastels, risoles) back home but let's not fool around. Kedai's pastries still taste waaaay better. First of all, 1 pastel in Indonesia is now about $2.50. You Indonesians who think it's still cheaper to eat in Jakarta can suck on deez. Second of all, the pastels here are about twice the size, so you're already getting a good deal. Lastly, the pastries here (especially pastel) have more flavor than the ones in Indonesia. You can taste the difference in quality. You 90's Jakarta people surely know what Indonesian pastries are supposed to taste like. I'd rather get Kedai's pastries, and I'd be more than happy to pay $5 for the taste Kedai has to offer. Kedai's recipe is still the classic, the ones I grew up with, and will always be very special to me. In the pictures are pastel, risoles, choco banana roll, and Dutch roll, with ice americano and pandan latte.

Note: I did not have a lot of experience with Indonesian food and can't tell how authentic it is. The chicken satay is really good (tasted like teriyaki chicken), the beef dish is a little dry thou. Overall, I would say it's on the pricy side. ($17.50 per dish)

Very nice small little cafe! The rendang comes with vegetables, tofu and tempeh, and your choice between coconut or yellow turmeric rice. Pretty good portion and prices!

Amazing!!!! I ordered 3 different plates. The picture below only has 2 plates and they half eaten hahha because it was that good! Okay the soup!!! OMG BOMB. Never had anything like this. It had beef and tomatoe. Their cendol drink + banana chocolate dessert amazing. I am in love and coming back

I keep coming back to this cafe during my lunch break because the food is incredible. I am astounded how few people come to this place. I'm moving to OC so I came here today for my last lunch break :( This is my favorite place to eat in all of Upland. Nasi Kuning Sate Ayam (Chicken Satay Plate): 4.8/5 - It's giving gourmet restaurant-style food, but in a cafe. The star of the plate is the Chicken Satay (as it should be). The char is perfect and the chicken is as tender as it gets. A dip into the peanut sauce or side of hot chili takes it to another level. It comes with a good portion of tumeric or coconut rice. They could just serve plain old white rice, but they care about delivering great flavor! I've tried a lot of the dishes here and this is my go-to, so it had to be my last dish before I leave for the OC. I'm surprised none of the social media foodies I follow have seemed to discover this place. Because if they did, I know this place would explode with business. If I ever find myself back in the area, Kedai is at the top of my list! Support small businesses!

outstanding local spot!! i think the cafe is run by a husband & wife duo with the wife being responsible for cooking. she came out to ask us how everything tasted :) both main dishes were made to order and piping hot. it was apparent that so much attention to detail and care went into each dish prepared. satay chicken - marinated, flavored and cooked perfectly. lots of sides included; i get tired of food fast so i loved the variety bubur ayam (rice porridge) - my first time ever trying this. so homey and comforting. next time i'll order it without the chinese donuts as they became too soggy. kaya toast - brioche is so buttery and i think they used even more butter to grill the bread. i found it quite heavy. it was a nice treat but i wouldn't order again! i prefer plain white bread for kaya toast. cendol - not overpoweringly sweet. amazing on a hot day we tried an assortment of pastries, all of which were baked to perfection and stayed true to indonesian flavors. i would 100% recommend kedai to my friends and plan on coming back with them!

So happy there is an Indonesian spot in this area! After coming back from Bali, I was in need of my Indonesian food fix. We got the beef rendang and chicken satay. Food was flavorful and delicious. They also sell a large variety of pastries. I will definitely be back!

My wife wanted something different for lunch so we decided to try this place out. We tried the satay plate, stuffed tofu, fried tidy, the pandan crepes, and the rice cake. The satay plate was huge with the skewers, Tempe, rice, and salad. The chicken was nice and moist. I fried tempura was ok, but the stuffed tofu was great. Tried out various sauce combinations and it added a new dimension to the dish. The desserts were also great especially the cake. We were also able to have a nice conversation with the owners. Great staff, great food

This is truly a hidden gem in the IE!! I've come here twice for breakfast and they did not disappoint. Knowing that the place could get crowded I made sure to get there when they opened. Not only did I get my food very quickly, I got to briefly chat with the people working there. I even got to chat with the nice lady who made all the wonderful delicious miracles!! So far, I've tried their signature porridge and noodles with fried fish cakes in the comfort food section in the menu, as well as most of their fantastic pastries. All mouth-wateringly delicious!! Oh, and so are their pandan and ube iced lattes!!! What a great place, with clean and casual ambiance, and great people and great service, I'd absolutely go back, and brave the crowd during lunch hours!

Cute and cozy family owned cafe with food and coffee. Ordered the satay plate and rendeng. Even the picky kids ate a few bites. Will have to try their cendol next time bc I haven't had a cendol outside of KL that I liked. Service was friendly and welcoming. They were out of a few items on the menu that we wanted to try so may come back if we are in the area.

So impressed by the breadth of Indonesian dishes they have here! I have yet to come here for a meal but stopped by for a snack and got their pisang bakar and bika ambon. Both tasted very authentic and such great portion sizes especially given the price! Service was amazing and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Very cute, quiet and peaceful cafe- great place to eat, work, enjoy a coffee, or catch up with a friend. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area!

Hidden gem! Our first time here and will definitely come back. My husband and I ordered the special combo rice plate with a few pastries and left satisfied and full. For dessert I highly recommend the Kaya Toast (coconut egg spread). This is a small restaurant owned by a wife and husband. I'm so impressed how the wife can manage the kitchen in the back creating colorful and home cooked dishes. The pandan latte (iced) wow. A must try.

The *only* reason I stumbled over this cute little Indonesian cafe was because I was looking for Southern style oxtail. Well, this ain't it, but I suppose you could at least say Indonesia is to the south of us, and they do have an abundance of their own version of soul. I have little to no knowledge of their cuisine, but we have never let that stop us. We hopped in our car without a second thought to the 60 miles we would be adding to our odometer. Stanny and Sebastián, the owners, are a hard-working, soft-spoken, friendly couple who immigrated from Indonesia to this country to discover the American Dream. They both went to Cal State Long Beach, where they majored in subjects that have absolutely nothing to do with restaurants. But lucky for you and me (if you are curious enough to try Kedai), you will be glad they chose to do this instead. Their culinary talents amaze me. Oxtail soup (Sop Buntut). Imagine a lovely big bowl of unadulterated, beefy broth with carrots, potato, green onion, and two huge oxtail bones full of meat cooked so perfectly that Grandpa wouldn't need his choppers put in. Perfect for fussy eaters, this is also well suited for a chilly winter evening. A bowl of steamed white rice accompanies this dish, as well as some tasty, super thin crackers (padi oat) they make fresh in-house. It's a delightful combination that I knew would guarantee Mr B's happy mindset. Beef Rendang (Rendang Sapi). Outstanding and so flavorful, this is described as a curry dish. But this is not like spicy hot Indian curries we know. The rich brown gravy, made of coconut milk along with a complex (but not spicy) combination of herbs and spices, creates an exciting dish. On one side of my plate were tender beef chunks, and on the other side, bites of tofu, tempeh, and omelet, all dressed in the same gravy. I did not realize that I was not eating all meat at first. The plate included my choice of steamed coconut rice or turmeric rice. I chose the turmeric style, which turned out to be a delicious, yellow coconut rice, topped with crispy fried onions. I loved every bite! This is also served with a freshly fried shrimp cracker about the size of a mini tortilla. Sensational, all of it. We also tried a crispy, stuffed potato ball called Kroket. It came hot out of the fryer with a small cup of a creamy, pink, tangy-sweet sauce that I have no idea what it was. Yum! I could not keep my eyeballs from staring greedily at all the other savory and sweet desserts and delicacies in the glass showcases. These, too, are all created from scratch in their tiny kitchen. I have no doubt I will be returning to snack on some of these along with a good coffee drink from their coffee bar. The menu is small but so varied and unique. Not at all your typical cafe. They even have a couple of fun breakfast items I will definitely need to look into further. Ube-Banana or Peanut-Hazelnut pancakes anyone? They also make a shaved ice treat called Cendol (pronounced chen-dal) made with coconut milk, condensed milk, jackfruit, and colorful pandan jelly that is similar to Thai and Filipino iced desserts. What a find! And not so far from where I live that I can't indulge over and over. You really must try this!

Parking: Easy, private open lot I came here for a snack. I ordered the kaya toast but saw the chicken rice roll and decided to try that too. The chicken rice roll was simple: shredded turmeric chicken breast rolled in sticky rice. It was a tasty snack if you're in the mood for something savory. Later, I ordered the kaya toast. It was sweet, and the coconut flavor was very strong; it overshadowed the pandan. Probably not how i would like my kaya toast but still tasty. I'd come back for either dish, but next time, I'll get a cup of coffee with the toast. All in all, i would definitely come back

Kedai is a gem that offers Indonesian hone cooking and pastries. Food is made to order and tastes wonderful. The satay that I had was juicy and rich in flavor. You can also find a variety of Indonesian drinks and coffee to pair the food with! The whole restaurant is extremely clean and relaxing, and the staff is always attentive. It's definitely a good find!

100% recommend this lovely breakfast/brunch/ lunch spot. I am so glad I came here. Indonesian pastries and sweets. And so many lunch options. I came here with my husband for some breakfast. We each got two pastries and coffee. I absolutely LOVE that they have pourover coffees too! Plenty of seating indoors. Really clean atmosphere, friendly service, and lovely decor.

I don't think I've ever had Indonesian food before today!! I placed a to go order and even on a to go order presentation was on point. I ordered the chicken satay which was delicious and loved dipping the tomatoes and cucumber in my leftover peanut sauce. The tofu had good flavor but I'm just not usually a fan of tofu in general. Very cozy vibe inside when I walked in, too. Maybe next time I'll have to dine in.

I don't live relatively close to this cafe but, considering how few and far between Southeast Asian restaurants there are in the inland area, I decided to make the trek. Kedai is a small cafe but with a very cozy atmosphere and cute piano music playing at your typical coffeehouse level. The male staff at the cashier was so patient and calm. Much appreciated if you are unfamiliar to this cuisine, don't be afraid to ask all the questions! Although it is a cafe per say, you can enjoy a nice dinner and a desert. Their curry was one of the best curries I have ever had. A perfect balance between spicy and sweet. The chicken satay cooked and seasoned to perfection. I'm obsessed with coconut so I loved the touch of coconut flakes here and there. I also tried their rice porridge to go, which is such a great standard for comfort food. If you are still hesitant after all I have had to say, at least try their delectable deserts and snacks! They have a lot of options for those who want semi-sweet pastries like their chewy fried sesame balls and pandan honeycomb cake (rice-based). Honestly, where else can you get these in such a convenient manner! This is one of my favorite spots in all of Socal and I highly urge you to stop by Kedai Indonesian Cafe.

What a great find in the inland empire area. Cute little indo cafe. Beef rendeng is good. The other dishes are fair. Not sure why they don't have noodle dishes. Sadly, they recently raised the prices on some items.

I haven't been here in a few months. I love this small business owned restaurant. Their menu is easy to read & understand their complex Indonesian cuisine. Since it is a cold night, I decided on their oxtail soup. the meat must have been simmered for hours or cooked in a pressure cooker because the meat was just right, tender but not overly cooked at all. The beef broth was very tasty, slightly acidic, with a hint of spice or chili. Perfect sliced carrots, potatoes, and onions. Great service from the owners. They allow you time to peruse & select from their menu. The best part of r this restaurant is the snacks that they sell, dessert & baked goodies. I opted for hot jasmine tea - I really wanted coffee, but I have to work tomorrow. There are a number of Indonesian restaurants from San Bernardino to San Gabriel Valley, Thank God this is close by.

This place is amazing. I wish I had come sooner! It's located in a small shopping center next with lots of easy parking. The shop inside is styled and decorated so nicely, with green hues, plants, and comfortable seating. There's plenty of seating as well. The menu is on the wall behind the counter, but there is also a full menu at the found at the counter you can browse. They also have QR codes on the tables. The owners/staff are lovely. Nice and welcoming with overall good vibes. You can tell they love what they do and love making good food. I've had the padan pancakes with coffee. But this time came for lunch. Pork Satay plate with turmeric rice 10/10 Chicken Satay plate with coconut rice 10/10 The meat was flavorful, savory, and had so much depth. The rice was fluffy, cooked to perfection, and flavorful. Both plates came with Cucumber, tomatoe, and salad. As well as a peanut base sauce and lemon wedge for the meat. The food was so good forgot to take a picture until I was half way done Please give this place a try if you love good food

Incredible food and even more incredible owner. She came out to talk to us all about her love of cooking and wanting to keep Indonesian family recipes alive. Nice chill atmosphere to study and relax in. This is a must, and I'm definitely coming back. Check it out if you can.

The place is very small inside fitting about 4 tables. Nice decor and friendly atmosphere. It's run by a husband and wife (didn't see anyone else). I was worried the food would take a while to cook but food came out quick! First time eating Indonesian and it was great. I forgot to take photos of the pastries I ordered. They were very good. I got one Dutch roll, one Kroket, and one pineapple turnover. I love the sweet spicy sauce they give to go with the kroket and Dutch roll. The pineapple turnover was not too sweet and was so good. Tasted like the pineapple filling was made fresh. Oxtail soup - husband liked it a lot. Light soup. Chicken satay plate - you can't tell by the picture but the chicken was soooo tender. And the flavor was soooo good, especially dipping in the peanut sauce. And they aren't skimpy in the peanut butter in the peanut sauce. The sticky rice had a good texture with a light coconut flavor. I loved the (stir fried tempe = soy cakes) on the side too. It had the same flavor as the chicken. They have a coffee bar and I ordered a Sumatra iced coffee. It didn't taste like anything special so I'd skip this next time.

Wish I had found this place sooner! Really great. Don't miss the Tahu Goreng. Lightly fried triangles of Tofu dipped in a sweet & spicy sauce. Crunches like a really great French fry with a soft center, dipped in the side sauce blew my mind. I could have eaten 3 plates of this alone. I'm coming back again. Love the family business vibe of the place. Come say hi!

My car charger broke. In a pinch, I found someone selling a new cable car. The meet up was in Montclair. We brought the entire Family for this exchange and went to Kedai Indonesian Cafe afterwards, a place my wife was eyeing on Yelp for quite some time. Honestly, in was a bit worried. From first glance, it seemed to only have beverages and pastries. We took a chance anyway since we were hungry. We parked in an unassuming small plaza. There interior was a transformative experience from their deeply, dark forest painted walls to their tropical banana leaves decor. My wife started looking at the plentiful pastry options and one of the workers (possibly owner) asked if we were joining them for lunch. She said yes and he offered us menus and an extension table. My wife also inquired if any of the pastries had nuts and he replied no. After perusing the menu, we both went up to place our orders and the worker asked us if we would like a different sauce since their usual sauce is peanut based. How thoughtful!! I will be transparent. We made three separate payments because we wanted more! The first time, we ordered the oxtail soup, Jakarta soup, ube banana pancakes, special rice combo plate, a pastel, and a kroket. The pastry items of pastel and kroket came out first with the different honey mustard sauce. The pastries didn't need any sauce and were stellar on their own. The kroket was a deep fried potato ball with ground beef, carrots, and peas. Our kids loved this one. The pastel was an empanada filled with vermicelli, chicken, eggs, carrots, and potatoes. Our lunch entries promptly came and we were blown away by the depth of flavor in each dish. The best one was their Jakarta, slow cooked beef in coconut milk, tomatoes, and green onion. My wife got their oxtail soup which was light with a healthy serving of vegetables and a large oxtail bone. The special rice combo plate came with turmeric rice, tumeric fried chicken, beef rendang, stif-fried tofu, and vegetable curry. Absolutely delicious with a splattering of everything. The kids loved the ube banana pancakes and they were not overly sweet like typical pancakes, but more of a hearty, homemade taste. The second transaction was dessert--buttered layered cake, special cendon (pandan jelly, palm sugar, coconut milk, and jackfruit), and another fizzy cendon made with fruit and soda. All of these were delectable to the point where we got pastries to do (third transaction). For authentic Indonesian cuisine, Kedai is the place to go.

The food was out of the park delicious, fast service, warm and fresh. The bathroom was spotless and the man at the front was patient and friendly. Overall for 2 main dishes, 1 salad, 1 side dish, 1 affogato and 2 desserts it came out to under 100$! Cant beat it for the authentic charm and flavor!

Wow! What an incredible first experience. If you want real home cooked Indonesian food, this is it! The combo plate is the best, to get a taste of everything. However, my favorite is the Rendeng. For dessert, treat yourself to some incredible home made Indonesian pastries and cakes; the chocolate banana pastry is by far the best. And finish off with a perfect coffee or expresso. The place is very intimate, so if you are choosing to dine-in, especially with a party of 4 or 6, be patient as tables may all be occupied. All to say, I can't recommend this place highly enough. Can't wait to get back there again.

My favorite Indonesian restaurant! I've been to places in the San Gabriel Valley, but none compare to this! I have been eyeing to come here when I'm in the area and am so glad I finally stopped in. It's a small mom and pop shop that has both desserts and their main dishes. One of the items we wanted ran out, which we know means it's a popular item that I'll have to try it again next time I visit. The portions are so generous and the price is very reasonable. The service was appropriate for the type of food we ordered. Everything came out fresh and hot. I really enjoyed the warm environment. It was quiet, welcoming and colorful. If you're interested in trying an Indonesian restaurant, this is the place to go! Even if it's just to try their dessert! They even offer Indonesian breakfast!! I tried their breakfast as my dessert. Already looking to my next visit.

This cafe is amazing - food, service, ambience. I cannot recommend it more. The staff working today were attentive and kind - they even warmed up my honeycomb cake, which was simply the best I've had. After getting the Dutch roll, I immediately wanted another. That's how good it was. They didn't skimp on the filling, and the pastry was flaky as hell. Thanks Kedai - I'll be coming back with friends.

This place is soooo good! Everything about this place will make you happy. The food, the pastries, the coffee; the ambiance, literally everything. I had a meal, a sticky rice chicken pastry, and some authentic Indonesian coffee afterwards and nothing disappointed, I would give it 5-stars across the board. The owners are also extremely friendly and will give you some great recommendations if it's your first time. Give it a try, you definitely won't regret it!

If you're looking for delicious comfort food and amazing service, you have to come here. The cafe is located in the Upland Village plaza. There's plenty of free parking in the lot. Clean bathrooms. Free WiFi is available. The girls working here are probably some of the sweetest, most welcoming employees I've ever encountered. Super helpful, welcoming, and seem genuinely excited about their food. The food itself it great. Everything is full of different flavors, and nothing feels heavy or greasy. Portions are standard to a little on the larger side (for lunch specials). A few hours later, and I still feel satisfyingly full. They have tons of drink and pastry options, and a nicely curated food menu. I will definitely be returning to try their various sweet and savory pastries!

On the pricier side, but solid place to get decent Indonesian food. I've had chicken satay plate. The satay was okay, but the yellow rice, tempeh goreng was good. The peanut sauce was okay too. I think it was made considering the American taste palette. I also ordered the marabak telor, that was excellent. I would definitely get that again. Pisang Bakar was also okay. You definitely have to mix the cheese and chocolate together when you order. The only critique I have is the plantain was a bit undercooked. Service is awesome. Environment is very chill and inviting. So the overall experience is a five star.

This is a gem of a restaurant in Upland \Ontario California. The food is authentic Indonesian Cuisine with a taste of homemade from scratch. From the entree, to the desert and even the Black tea. This was the second time I have eaten there and plan to go back again.

Amazing food!! It was my first time trying some of the dishes on their menu and I enjoyed my selection. Super friendly and welcoming service and they have some great desserts!!

We went there after seeing the positive reviews of this place. The place looks very quaint and is run by a very sweet couple. We ordered the pork satay with tamarind rice, Fried Banana, Kaya Toast, Kroket and a to go of Fried chicken plate and Chicken wings. We also ordered the Lapis Legit for Dessert. The food overall was more on the sweeter side and that was a disappointment. The pork satay and the fried chicken was dry and it did not taste good. The Fried banana was not fried but rather pan fried with a topping of cheese and condensed milk which my wife did not like. The Kaya toast however was pretty good and so was the Lapis legit dessert. It reminded me of the dessert I had in Goa called Bibinka. The portions are small. So do order a couple of them. The prices are a bit on the higher side though. The service is good and fast. Am I going there again...? I don't think so.

Probably the best chicken satay in California. Moist and flavorful. Would love to buy some frozen ones to bring home and bbq on my own with charcoal. This is such a hidden gem. My friends and I stumbled upon this place extremely hungry after strawberry picking in the heat. My bf is Indonesian, so he was looking forward to introducing Indonesian food to us. We started with the risoles, lemper, dutch roll, and a pastel. All of it was so good, especially with the sauce included. The lemper and dutch roll were my absolute favorites. For entree's, I ordered the soto betawi, my bf's favorite Indo comfort food. It was so comforting, so I understood how he felt. Unfortunately, it wasn't until later that he mentioned that I should've added the kecap. But when I did, it was really good. My bf's rendang was also really good. I think the meat could've been slightly more tender, but the flavor was quite good! The servers were also really sweet as well, especially since we ordered so much food. It's a little cafe that is much more than meets the eye. I don't know when the next time I can come here will be, but I'm so glad we found this place.

By far this is the best Indonesian restaurant that we have ever visited compared to other Indonesian restaurants in LA. Ambience is so cozy and super clean. Thankyou Om Sebastian and Tante Stanny buat makanan enaknya, definitely go back here

Delicious food; friendly service; and clean and cozy atmosphere. Food - delicious. The pandan pancakes are fluffy, yummy, and a great deal. Also tried the coffee, which was strong but smooth. The savory pastries and sauces are so savory and slightly spicy. There is also a small selection of desserts. Ambiance - intimate, clean cafe eatery. There is a display case on the counter with the savory pastries and a lower counter display case with the cakes and muffins. There are a maybe 5-6 tables you can eat at inside. No tables outside, but plenty of parking. Service - very welcoming and informative. I'm not Indonesian so I asked about some items on the menu and they were very informative. Also the food is relatively quick. Lovely customer service. Advice - order the Dutch rolls and honeycomb cakes. Yummy!!!

What a cute Indonesian cafe! They have a small menu for dine in meals but lots of pastries and snacks! I wanted to try everything but ended up going for the oxtail soup which came with rice and a side of chips/crackers. So good and comforting and a nice large piece of ox tail too! I definitely want to come back soon to try the other items off their menu. The owners are super friendly and soo nice! This was such a good local find! Definitely thinking about that soup right now at work so have to go back soon! Easy plaza parking.

This place is truly incredible! The food is amazing the chef came out and spent some time with us talking about how she made the food: it is authentic from her family's kitchen. We could taste the love in the food and amazing quality. We were impressed with all the flavors, sauces and variety. We ordered the first plate item on the menu that has a little of everything plus the fish with noodles and cucumbers. If you haven't tried this place, it's a must try! Best and only Indonesian food I've ever had!

Food is absolutely delicious. The sate was so moist and flavorful. The owner and his daughter were so warm and friendly. It was a little drive for my husband and I but well worth the trip. We will definitely be back.

Super cute establishment! We went here a couple months ago but I forgot to leave a review ops! Service was kind and quick. We tried the two of the pastries but I unfortunately can't remember which ones--i think it was the beef kroket and apple turnover. I do remember that both were delicious! afterwards we had Ox Tail soup and chicken rice porridge (photo), both were also great in flavor and decent portions. if we lived closer to here, we'd no doubt return :)

A true tasty gem I definitely must recommend! Enjoy the homemade taste made in-house? Well, just read up on this delicious adventure! I started off with two of their desserts which were the Lapis Surabaya and the Bika Ambon which are the honeycomb cake and I'm guessing their version of a flavored pound cake. They both delivered with sweet flavor but before we could make a dent I them because of my annoying picture taking. LoL! The mains came out looking so scrumptious! The beef rendang with yellow rice was and is simply delicious and a perfect portion not to put you in a food coma. The turmeric chicken with turmeric rice and anchovy chili sauce was just, well my words can't really describe it since it was my first time having this but it was simply amazing for short. I must not forget to mention the shrimp crackers it came with and the garlic chips the beef rendang had on the side, perfect complements to both dishes. So I saved the drink for last, the Cendol. It takes about 15-20 minutes to make but well worth it! It comes with Pandan jelly, jackfruit, Palm sugar in coconut milk. This was a liquid Mouthgasm and the perfect end to this adventure. That's my take on it, Peace...

I regret eating at this place because it is far from my house and I probably won't be able to go back for a year. We were in Upland to see our new accountant and found this place. My wife and I went to Amsterdam last year and due to the Dutch-Indonesian relationship ate some great Indonesian there. We hadn't had any since then so finding KEDAI on Yelp, we just had to go. I had the combo special and my wife the chicken sate. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. It's so easy to overcook chicken and dry it out but all the sate and fried chicken was perfect. The owner came out and she was SO NICE. We talked about how and when she launched and so much about even the Netherlands. I wish it was closer!

The curry was kinda watery and didn't have much of a potent curry flavor. It was very mild. I wish it had more flavor and creaminess. The beef in there was good and tender, it wasn't melt in your mouth tender however. I love how the rice comes with fried shallots and green onion, it gave it a more interesting texture and extra aromatics. My friend got the chicken satay Plate which he loved a lot. The chicken was charred beautifully which imparted a delicious smoky depth to it.

Excellent food, I can tell everything was homemade!we tried almost everything and everything was delicious. The place is small but beautiful decorated, the service was excellent. Clean, super recomendable!! Happy to find it!!

Food: hands down, a proper home-cooked Indonesian meal with grandmother's recipes passed down from generation to generation. Chef was amazing and her food was phenomenal. It's reminiscent of my mom's home cooked meal. Simple. Is. Best. Service was speedy and punctual. (Note when we went there was not a lot of patrons). Please exercise patience with them as they're only a two person team (husband and wife), mom and pop shop. Ambiance was quiet. I can actually talk with my indoor voices and hear myself think. It's great. Please visit and support your local business!

Family owned restaurant that I highly recommend! Food and dessert were both delicious. Couldn't stop eating the flavorful sauces that really made the dish. I'd come back to try other dishes or even get the same dish again! As for dessert, definitely beed to try the variety of different options they have. Free wifi here and was able to take a meeting while eating dinner.
