On the Grid : Keeneland

"There’s more to horse racing than the Kentucky Derby. If you’re lucky enough to be here during the two months out of the year in Fall and Spring when the races are running you can head to the track to bet on some the best thoroughbred racing in the world, eat Kentucky burgoo, and people watch. No matter what time of year, the stunning and historic track is worth a visit. Get up early to watch some of the most impressive thoroughbreds in racing get in their morning workout - it’s free and open to the public year round. No big hats required." - Bullhorn

I loved having the opportunity to view of these beautiful horses exercising. They are awesome athletes that deserve huge respect. The facility is beautiful and our guide gave lots of great information and track history. Would definitely recommend.

This was a lot of fun. Keeneland is a great experience. We walked around the beautiful property. It was interesting to learn about betting on the horses. The staff were very friendly. It got really busy in the afternoon. Consider taking an Uber, the parking lot is a little crazy.

We watched the horses workout. It was amazing! This is a wonderful outing for ALL! The track kitchen is delicious. Stick to your ribs breakfast. Very affordable. Such Southern hospitality! We will be back.

The tour around the facilities at Keeneland is one of my most favorite sightseeing adventures I've done. I went the day before the Kentucky Derby, so no racing was happening, but I can't wait to come back for the spring or fall meet. Our tour guide, Lynn, was amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly. We got to see all the ins and outs of the facility, including standing in the Winners Cirlce to watch morning routines. We got to go inside the clubhouse and learn the history of the founding of Keeneland. This is such a cool experience and historic track.

Very interesting place. My daughter and I and two of my grandkids went to check out the place. We heard in the morning between 6-10 you can go watch the horses get exercised. We got to talk to a few of the people who worked there and even got to pet one of the horses. Learned several things about race horses. They find it hard to get weight on them since they are so active. The horses drink 15 gallons of water a day and eat at least 15 lbs of food a day. I loved watching them a lot and learned a lot. You have even have breakfast at the race track kitchen.

As long as you like horseracing ,it's a very neat place to see, even better when they are racing... We saw the whole track, winner's circle, store, bleachers etc. Our visit was topped off with an appeal of many of the horses doing morning workouts. Our host provided numerous insights as to how rCes, warmups, etc were conducted and had us some history on the park as well . FASCINATING!!! 👌👌👌

This property is so beautiful and well maintained! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and created a relaxed environment to learn more about the track and racing. It was so nice to watch the training as well!

An absolutely gorgeous racetrack steeped in equestrian racing history. When I visited for the first time, it was quite empty, giving us plenty of opportunity to explore the entire premises. The second time, I returned for the spring meet, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. I must say, the grounds are aesthetically more appealing than the much better-known Churchill Downs.
