Free Cereal at Wanna Spoon This Wednesday | Eater Nashville

"Opened on February 2 at 209 Indian Lake Boulevard in Hendersonville, Keke's Breakfast Cafe is a Florida-based chain known for all-day breakfast and this is the brand's first location outside of Florida; the restaurant was founded in 2006 by two brothers who modeled it after their go-to spot in Philadelphia. The Hendersonville cafe will feature create-your-own omelets, stuffed French toasts, a variety of Belgian waffles, and signature Florida pancakes topped with strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and powdered sugar, and the menu also includes salads, paninis, and a bacon cheeseburger with two quarter-pound all-beef patties. Keke's is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

This is THE place to come for breakfast. To begin, our waiter was so sweet! He was super attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu :) I really recommend their hot cocoa, it was perfectly sweet and so yummy! Then onto the food… y’all! I got the stuffed French toast and it was SO good, I mean just look at the plating. The bacon was so crisp and their home fries were to die for. Overall this place is a 10/10, you cannot go wrong!

Google
They served the most congealed Eggs Benedict I've ever tasted. Drizzled with a light, tangy hollandaise sauce and set atop a wonderful, buttery, crispy English Muffin. The grits were decent but a little watery and I didn't appreciate having to ask for a spoon to eat them with as well as the citrus garnish a little dried up. Other than that it's a beautiful atmosphere and friendly faces.

Loved the food. Was seated fast despite being a crowed Holiday weekend. Service was quick and server was friendly and happy to help us with recommendations. Great overall experience! We will be back!

This is my second time coming to Keke’s and it’s just one of the best spots I’ve gone for breakfast/lunch/brunch ! This time I brought my sister out for a birthday brunch and we got chicken and waffles, fresh fruit french toast, and scrambler bowl (added green pepper, tomato, onion, and turkey bacon) . Everything was delicious!! And service was amazing and free parking which is just a small plus :)

We drove up here to go to church and found this wonderful breakfast place. My son was super excited as they had a breakfast wrap “burrito” and he was able to customize it to his liking like the ones we got back home in Colorado. My wife got the eggs benedict. That was okay as they as they over cooked the egg but fortunately that is the way my wife likes it. I am the boring one got eggs, sausage and pancakes which was very tasty as well. The pancakes are massive so beware before you order but they are fluffy and fantastic. Would definitely recommend you check it out.

The staff is so friendly and hospitable here. Breakfast food is my favorite so I’ve had this place on my list for a while. I stopped in around 1:00 PM on a Thursday and it wasn’t busy at all. It took a second for the hostess to see me but once she did, I was seated immediately. Tannah was my server and was really helpful going over the menu once I told her it was my first time there. I got the KeKe’s Breakfast Combo and it was very filling. I’m so glad they offered turkey products because most places in the south only have pork. The southwest omelette was the highlight of the four items for me. It was really flavorful and cooked to perfection. (Kind of spicy though so I’ll ask for light jalapeño next time. The petal sauce is horseradish based so it has a kick to it too.) The pancake was ok but too sweet for my liking (it was reminiscent of a funnel cake). The potatoes were home fries style with onions like a southern grandma would make. I liked them but they could’ve been more crispy. I also requested my turkey bacon crispy but it didn’t come out that way so I had to send it back. However, they made it right the second time around. The price was fair and the staff added to the experience so I would go again if I’m in the area. Next time I want to try the French toast.

Google
First time here and will definitely be back. The manager said they were short staffed to please be patient but we would've never known by the service we got. The food is so delicious and worth the wait 😋

We were so glad we stopped in for breakfast. Layla was great and very attentive and the food was delicious. If you are looking for adult beverage to get the morning started, be sure to get their Mimosa!

Yelp
This was my second time to visit, and once again, NOT impressed. The service was okay, nothing special. We didn't get all that we ordered - two sides of bacon were never served even after a second request. I ordered 2 blueberry pancakes (not realizing they are about 9" wide and and inch thick). I was only able to eat about a third of my meal and of course, one of the bacon sides was for me, but I never got. Also, the meal wasn't as hot as I would have liked and we were not served at the same time. The meal for the four of us, including tip, was $80+. A little pricey for a nothing special breakfast . Probably my last time for Keke's.

Yelp
We were here for my daughter's business trip. This was our last day in Nashville and we were wanting a very great breakfast while we waited on her to finish her conference. My hubby wanted pancakes but every restaurant that we pulled up just wasn't grabbing our attention. I came across KeKe's three times and most of the reviews were amazing. I took it as a sign to go. Boy was I glad that I did.... LOU was our waitress and omg she was the best EVER!!! She was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. She also warned us that the pancakes were plate size but I guess it hubby didn't believe her and ordered three lol. He tried his best to finish them because they were melt in your mouth delicious but he just couldn't. He usually will not eat just anyone's grits but he took a chance and couldn't stop talking about how good the texture and taste was. I of course had almost tuned him out cause I was in a potato coma, lol. Those house potatoes was on point!!! I also want to say thank you to the young waitress that was cleaning the table next to us. Our son has a mild case of autism and is obsessed with straws. He was acknowledging the straws and she immediately began holding a very caring conversation with him. After she walked off he commented how pretty she was and how ahe seemed to be a really kind person that loves children. I didn't get your name but THANK YOU for being so patient and kind. I definitely will be returning here EVERY time we come back to Nashville because this place is where to be. I wish I could give you all 100 stars because you are very well deserving.

Yelp
I've been two or three times and want to like it more but something's always "off" for us. It's not the decor- all of that looks great. The food is fine to really pretty good, depending on what you order. Sometimes you'll get your syrup with whatever you've ordered & sometimes you have to wait an extra 3-5 minutes for reasons. And ask a couple people where the syrup is for the pancakes (sometimes if one doesn't advocate for what they're supposed to get here after having ordered it, you might just not get it??). Or a slice of bacon won't be served with the thing that's supposed to have the bacon on the side according to the menu. Some of the wait staff seem on it and attentive, some are chilling out, shooting the breeze. Everyone there seems happy/nice, & like they're having a good time, but yeah, as a customer I want what I ordered to show up and be able to eat it without having to remind people to bring us stuff we ordered. There's a promotion now that is also "$5 kids meal with adult entree," & all signage online and at the restaurant say this. The manager (we were later told) believes this applies to just one kids meal & not two (this isn't communicated anywhere, but the manager has decided it should only apply to one kids meal- I'd have indicated that on a sign, but that's just me) It's a few dollars, so I wouldn't generally flip, but the vibe I get given other stuff I felt/saw is the manager isn't as on task or involved as some other restaurants in town I could name. Very professional on the surface, pretty casual on the service, a little deceptive on the advertising of at least one special they're running. Would eat there again if someone I was with really liked it, but wouldn't pick it myself.

Yelp
Oh Keke's, how I have missed you! I lived in Orlando for a few years about a decade ago and that is where I fell in love with Keke's for the first time. I had no clue that it was a chain that extended into middle TN until I was cruising around Hendersonville last week and spotted Keke's from the distance. I am so mad that I didn't know my beloved Keke's was mere miles from my house, but I am now thrilled to know the same! This location of Keke's sits on Indian Lake Boulevard among all the shopping and eateries. It is situated in a small plaza that shares the larger space with other retailers. Parking is enough, but can be limited when it gets busy, however the large surrounding lots have you covered. Keke's is known for their breakfast and lunch, more so breakfast staples. The food is no frills, comforting and classic. My favorites have always been pancakes, breakfast sandwiches and cheese grits. For my first visit in nearly 10 years, I opted for the pancakes, side of sausage links and a sweet tea. And it was perfection. Service was great from entry to exit. The hostess greeted me quickly and sat me even quicker. My server, Bailee, was friendly, nice and helpful! Prices have gone up since my Orlando days, but what hasn't become more expensive. While I am still a fan, $3.99 for a sweet tea is WILD! I won't fault this location for the prices, but dang... Overall, glad to know Keke's is within reach again!

Yelp
The chicken & waffles were amazing. It seems like everyone makes the chicken spicy on this menu item but Keke's did it without the spice and I truly appreciate that. It was so delicious. We also got the Blueberry Stuffed French toast which was very good. Our waitress was friendly and came to check on us a few times which was nice. Our food came out pretty quickly after ordering. When we arrived there was a wait and we were told about 20-25min. It took 35min to be seated. But it was certainly worth the wait. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was casual. The restrooms were also clean, although the stall in the ladies room is very small.

Yelp
The food tasted good although I was a bit disappointed with the stuff frenched toast. The basically take the French Toast and cut it in triangles, smear some cream cheese on it and put it together like a club sandwich. It had good flavor, just wasn't what I was expecting. The home fries were more like fried potato slices and had an excellent flavor. The bacon was flavorful and crispy. The waitress kept our coffee and drinks filled but she didn't follow up much at the end. The booth was comfortable and the restaurant wasn't too noisy.

Lynn H.

Yelp
The food was tasty. A typical breakfast place. Nothing really special though. Our service was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
I love their Greek omelette here. I was able to sit down quickly and staff helped us with the menu. The café has a small diner feel.

Yelp
The food was really good. It wasn't super crowded. Our server was excellent. The portions are large. The prices are reasonable. The bathroom was also clean. I will definitely come back. New fav breakfast spot

Yelp
Deb was our server and she crushed it! Huge portions, clean place, managers and staff checked on us frequently and the food was fresh! What a neat place!

Yelp
I visited Keke's Breakfast Cafe this morning for breakfast/brunch and had a fantastic experience! We were greeted and seated immediately, despite the moderate crowd. Our server, Bailee, was excellent--attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They even let us order from the lunch menu just before it officially opened at 10:30. We tried several things from the menu, Create Your Own Combo (great value), the Steak Panini with onion rings, Silver Dollar Pancakes, and a Sunshine Bowl. Portions were generous and delicious, though the home fries were slightly greasy for my taste. They bring regular syrup by default, but I requested maple syrup, and they brought out the cutest little mini maple syrup bottles! If you prefer maple syrup, just ask--they've got it! For drinks we had water and one of the 3 offered cocktails. The White Peach Bellini, served with a mini champagne bottle and juice, was a fun touch! The decor was bright and inviting, with a casual vibe. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms. They have a parking lot right out front with plenty of spaces. If it's busy, you may need to park in the shared lot with nearby restaurants and shops. Open Daily 7:00 am - 2:30 pm Highly recommend checking Keke's Breakfast Cafe out--I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Really enjoyed the meal at Keke's! Very clean and. service was prompt. All the French toast was light and airy even with the toppings and the bacon & potatoes was cooked perfectly as part of the combo!

Yelp
5 stars for service! Chelsea was very pleasant and brought coffee refills often. Mr. T came by a few times as well, making us feel like he was a family friend, just making sure we were comfortable. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was perfectly?waffled? And the chicken was tender and crispy. Highly recommend when in Hendersonville.

Yelp
I just left my first visit to KeKe's with my family, and unfortunately, I left very disappointed--mainly because of the customer service. I ordered the 2-egg scramble bowl with grits and added bacon. I hadn't eaten anything all day, so I was really looking forward to this being my first meal. While the food overall tasted fine, the eggs were cooked hard--completely overdone--despite me simply requesting scrambled eggs. The texture and flavor of the eggs overwhelmed the entire bowl, so I asked if I could have the dish remade. Our server, Mikayla, came back and explained that it would take longer since they had to make fresh grits. As we're getting our food after closing. I told her not to worry about it--as I didn't want to eat much later than my family, who had already started their meals. She insisted, so I agreed to wait for the replacement. When the new plate came out, the grits were undercooked--still hard and clearly rushed. Grits require time and care to prepare properly, and it was obvious they hadn't been cooked long enough. When Mikayla returned to ask how the food was, I told her honestly that the grits were hard. She immediately raised her voice and said, "Oh my god, okay well I'll get it taken off." Then, from the kitchen--where we were seated nearby--I could clearly hear her raise her voice again, saying, "Well we have to get this taken off anyway," followed by more inaudible remarks. Up to that point, my experience was okay. But the way the situation was handled was completely unacceptable. A simple apology and a calm, professional response would've been appropriate. At the very least, a manager should have come out to check in or acknowledge the issue. But no one did. This wasn't a complicated order--just eggs, grits, and bacon bits. It was my first meal of the day, and I left frustrated and still hungry. I would like to return and actually try the food under better circumstances, but I sincerely hope the service is handled with more care and professionalism next time.

Yelp
The service was the worst I've ever experienced when a restaurant was not busy so being not busy meant they had time to at least acknowledge my presence

Les C.

Yelp
$4.00 for a tiny cup of Luke warm coffee. Oh yum! Ordered a sausage omelet with cheese. Not much to it. Actually the worst I ever had. My wife ordered a ham & cheese omelet & if it had been bacon, it would be like bacon bits sprinkled in the cheese. No flavor & flat. The waitress said usually wheat bread comes with it. We asked is that the o lot choice? We then ordered an English muffin that came out almost 10 min after our breakfast was served & it was so cold the bitter what there was of it wouldn't melt. I decided to call her back for another cup of coffee & asked if they had a toaster for the bagels She then brought hot bagels out but still no coffee. Finally asked another server for a refill. We had a coupon for next month so gave it away as we will never be back. The place was pretty empty & with small portions & high prices they won't be here long

Todd A.

Yelp
Unbelievable breakfast. Keke's, you out did yourselves. This is my first visit and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great spot, but hostesses need to work on their skills. I counted three open tables and they were quoting 45 minutes for wait time. It's a great place to eat, but hostesses staff is maddening. Don't go on a busy day.

Sandi R.

Yelp
I waited until we dined in more than once before leaving my review. Today was my third lunch visit - all three times the A/C was not working well, very hot, waitress mentioned they were having issues. Today it was close to closing, only a few customers finishing up yet they did not wait on us for over 20 min - apologized and someone finally took our order (only 3 of us). Took awhile for the food to come out - my Carolina Chicken salad was listed chicken strips, pecans, bacon, tomatoes, cheese and lettuce. I was surprised how little of the above ingredients were in the salad and everything including the chicken was diced into tiny pieces. Sadly it was disappointing.
google avatar

Jeff P.

Yelp
Great service; I had sausage and eggs and ordered one pancake; I was worried that might not be enough, but...that one pancake was HUGE and maybe the best one I've ever had anywhere. Incredible!

Amber B.

Yelp
The food was amazing along with excellent service! My husband, son & I traveled in from GA, went here for brunch & were completely satisfied with the Apple Cinnamon French toast. We'll definitely be back when we return to TN!
google avatar

Codie W.

Yelp
Visited again today and was blown away by the service provided by our server Daniel! He was very informative on menu items and charges. I opted for the scramble bowl and my partner had the Create A Meal: Pancake with pecans, potatoes and sausage. Food was delicious! The restaurant was clean and tidy per usual.

Yelp
We loved this place! The wait was totally reasonable for a Sunday lunch. We were told 20 minutes and we waiting 15. Our server, Le'Eric was fantastic. The food was wonderful and our family of 4 all found something we really enjoyed. We will be back!
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
I go here every Sunday when I'm in town after church and the food is great service is average and ambience is OK. I'm writing a review today because the first time I got chicken and waffles was awesome but the last two times when it's supposed to with the sauce that come with it comes plain. Even our waitress had a problem why they did that last two times I got it it was like this
google avatar

Tasheba L.

Yelp
OMG the service was amazing I love it I'll be going back with my friend I recommend this place for anyone I ever bought my Grandparents a gift card that's how good it was!!!

Mei Lin D.

Yelp
The decorations/building is so cute! It is a great atmosphere to catch up with a friend. However, the food is very mid and the service is average. I went there today and my meal was cool. I wouldn't say it was cold, but it was the temperature of a meal 20 minutes in rather than when it first hits the table. Additionally, I asked for spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms (the Scrambler Bowl comes with 3 vegetables). Mine as you can see has no vegetables at all. I asked about it, and the waitress said they were out of spinach, but she could bring me some other vegetables. At this point, I said it was alright and asked for tomatoes and onions on the side. She brought them to me, and later charged me for them (it is an additional cost if you add more than 3 vegetables). We politely asked her to take that off the bill, and she did. I am not upset, just dumbfounded with how this was handled. The logical thing to do would let the customer know, "We are out of spinach, could we substitute another vegetable for you." Instead, they didn't give me any vegetables and they also charged for it ‍

R D.

Yelp
Sitting here now to write a review-havent even gotten my food yet. Before coming in, I expected from the logo to be a high-end-too fancy of a place for me that was expensive. I was wrong. So clean and accommodating and huge portions and affordable. Very very nice and i'm so pleased with the generosity of staff.

Yelp
Our family was finally able to try this restaurant. With it being new to our area, it has been busy. Have realistic expectations considering this; expect to wait at least thirty minutes. The ambiance is nice, clean, and very welcoming. The majority of the staff are lovely and helpful. Our server for the day forgot about us, but the owner and other servers assisted us anytime we needed something. The food was just ok; our little one loved his chocolate chip pancakes. My husband enjoyed his eggs and bacon. The cheese grits could use some help! Note we have Southern roots, so we should have known better than to order them. My omelet appealed to the eye, but the vegetables were not sauteed. This made the omelet crunchy, with a few eggshells I found, which was strange, considering the eggs tasted like a powdered mixture. With that being said, they have specialty pancakes and French toast, which I plan to order on our next visit. I saw other plates, and they looked and smelled amazing. I will try a restaurant three times before not recommending it. I encourage you to try them out! P.S. They do not have their liquor license yet.

Teeza K.

Yelp
We placed to go order and checked with associates how long for the wait. She has no clue about our order after waiting 15 mins in the store. It's ridiculous.
google avatar

Jack S.

Yelp
Eggs a bit overcooked but still had yolk. Bacon crispy. Perfect! Sever was great. Design was beautiful. I give it an A.

Mike A.

Yelp
I've never been here before. The service was great and the food was delicious. I'm very happy to say I really actually enjoyed this a lot. I will be back. My server, Le' Eric was great. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a new place as much as this. Really good all the way around.
google avatar

Mashekia T.

Yelp
While the food was good, I was disappointed that they couldn't accommodate my nut allergy. I had to order the omelet, breakfast potatoes, and grits. The food was good, even warmed as leftovers the next day. I also got a mimosa, which was good.

Jessica T.

Yelp
The fajita omelette was wonderful!! It was seasoned and cooked incredibly!!! And the waitress was very friendly and helpful!!! My family and I look forward to returning again!!!

Yelp
Visiting family in TN, found this restuarant on YELP that's close to our hotel. It caught my attention by looking at the menu online. I recognized what I consider good clean cooking like I try to do at home. Which is so hard to find when eating out. When we arrived, we were impressed immediately with the cleanliness and friendliness of the hostess'. Our food was so good! The food came out hot and seasoned just right. I had the egg whites, toast and turkey sausage and hubby had the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. He loved his too. I'm sure we will be back before we go back to TX. Don't miss out on this restaurant. Kudos to Tannah for taking such good care of us.

Melody L.

Yelp
I had no idea what to expect from KeKe's but was pleasantly surprised. We walked into a very clean and crisp environment with smiling staff members at the host stand. The hostess who sat us did a great job and sat us in a secluded area. My daughter can be anxious in public settings, so the hostess really nailed the right spot for us! We enjoyed all of the food we ordered! The ham Benedict was beautifully presented and the poached eggs were picture perfect! My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and it was actually one of the best looking cheeseburgers I've seen in a while! She scarfed it down pretty quickly so it's a given that she enjoyed it! The music was at the perfect volume for the time of morning we were in and the staff was calmly and diligently working. Everything was super clean and the decor was adorable. It's almost like if Denny's was their dad and First Watch was their mom, and maybe IHOP was their cousin. It was giving both nostalgic and present moment vibes which as a woman in her 40's, can fully appreciate! I loved the balance of it all. Would not hesitate to eat here again.

Kathy C.

Yelp
The food was good, service was good and I like the atmosphere. They hadn't been open long at all but they have a great staff and everything went smoothly. I'll be back.
google avatar

Jacqueline A.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant twice (for breakfast) since they opened, and I've been disappointed both times. On my first visit I ordered an omelette, and it was flat and not fluffy, so just not to my taste, so I figured I'd give them another try. But, today I ordered Eggs Benedict and the Hollandaise sauce was tasteless and the eggs were poached hard, which is a huge faux pas. Unless a patron specifically orders the eggs hard, yolks should always be runny for Eggs Benedict. Very disappointing, and I'm done with this place, at least for breakfast items.

Yelp
Food was perfect!! Service was fast and cordial. Carlos was a rock star, great dude, on top of everything. Keke's is my new regular spot for breakfast and lunch. You gotta try this spot ...5 diamonds all the way. Billy D

Yelp
We were so excited when we found out that Keke's was opening in Tennessee. We have loved Keke's for years in the Orlando and Tampa areas. Sadly, this location only shared the name Keke's, but other than that, it was a far cry from being anything like their FL locations. My wife and I tried this location this past Sunday. We arrived at 9:50 a.m. and sat around 10:07 a.m. We quickly placed our order and waited. We only had one soda and a mimosa. Around 10:30 a.m., we noticed that many tables around us, including those that had sat before us, were still waiting on their food. At 10:50 am, who appears to be a manager, walked around to other tables, giving away free drinks and saying something about delays with online orders. This was the first time we were told about the ticket time issues while sitting there. I flagged our waitress to cash us out and told her to cancel the food, sadly she rang up the entire meal for $43. That same manager then brought out our food around 11:00 AM, and I told him no, to take it back as we were already late for our planned event. I asked to cash out as we waited for 50 minutes for some simple eggs and toast. The guy stated they were new, it was a Sunday, they had many orders and a lot of excuses, but they only deducted the meals from the bill, which were later put in boxes and tossed in the trash as we got to our appointment. I get this is a "new" location, but any breakfast joint should be well prepared to handle a Sunday AM rush. Even the waffle house can turn tables and orders around better than this.

Yvette T.

Yelp
The pecan pancakes were amazing!!! The restaurant was clean and our waitress was wonderful!

Robert H.

Yelp
This used to be one of our go to restaurants and for sure a 5 star in the past for me. However, recently service and food quality has changed. Not sure if management changed or what's going on. I ordered the 3 egg breakfast and my wife ordered the 2 egg breakfast. When we got our breakfast, my wife had a little more eggs on her 2 egg plate. I asked the waitress if she is sure I had 3 eggs. She said the manager (I guess the manager was cooking???) might have switched the eggs for me to just take some of my wife's eggs. Hmmm. That wouldn't have gone over too well. As for the quality of the food the grits were outstanding and the eggs this time were just ok. Usually they are great too. Also, they don't like substitutions here. I asked if I can substitute the home fries for the side of pancakes. On the sides menu, they were close to the same price. She said there would be an up charge of at least $2.50. She wouldn't know the up charge until she rang it up. Very frustrating. I did notice only half the tables at the restaurant were occupied when normally there is a wait on Saturdays. Maybe others have already discovered the same issue(s) and going to other places. We won't be returning anytime soon.

Yelp
Wonderful food, i had a chocolate chip waffle and it was wonderful, possibly the best drip coffee i've ever had! Deja our server was great, and it was a great atmosphere, and the entire experience was great.

Yelp
Food was hot and fresh. Pancakes were great. Lots of combos to choose and customize your order. Service was good. Only indoor seating. Open window to see in kitchen. Very clean.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! We got there around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and had about a 30 minute wait, not too bad. Service was great, and food was outstanding. Just a warning, the pancakes are huge! I could only make it through half of them, and I'm a pretty big eater. Definitely would recommend, it's worth the wait
