The 18 Best Restaurants in Budapest, Hungary | Eater

"In the past few years, countless specialty coffee shops have sprung up in Budapest, but only a few of them have something unique to offer beyond the typical third-wave cafe playbook. Snug Kelet Kávézó, located along the increasingly fashionable Bartók Béla Boulevard on the Buda side of the Danube, draws an eclectic group of locals with its book-lined interior, quality espresso, filter and Turkish coffees, and vegan cheesecakes. The cafe also hosts community events, like a recent exhibition of Hungarian architectural photography from the 1970s." - Tas Tobias

Visited on a weekday morning: it was peaceful and perfect for light reading/journaling. The literary interior design is so lovely and soothing. Coffee was yummy and the cakes hit the spot. There is also local craft beer available with plenty of other alcoholic selections. Sandwiches and light meals are available after 12pm. Come by for a visit!

We’ve been in Budapest for 3 weeks trying all the coffee shops and this one is by far our favorite. If we want to make sure that we have a great cup of coffee and tasty banana bread to pair it with, we always come here! So consistently delicious and the atmosphere is perfect.

They were having a happy your from 9-10pm with discounts in the beer. We ended up having a vodka soda and a beer. Great place with cozy vibes

Friendly staff, delicious food and coffee. We didn't know that big portion is that much, so we couldn't eat all of the food, but we can ask a box for them. I recommend to order small portion of sandwiches if you're alone. Next time I ordered for take away too. And I recommend to reserve a table, it's a busy place. :)

Nice atmosphere but not suitable to study at the ground floor level due to rule of no laptop after 12pm*, WiFi was slow and dim light. But upstairs had brighter light

A very beautiful and cozy place with vegan options for both coffee and pastries. There’s plenty of space, and the tables are comfortable and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, when I visited, there weren’t many pastry options since it was right after a holiday, but I’d definitely come back. One suggestion: it would be better if the pastries and coffee were served at the same time—I always receive them separately, which doesn’t make much sense. Also, the coffee could be hotter, as it’s usually just lukewarm. Overall, I really like this café and will return. Plus, it has WiFi!

Had breakfast there on Friday, and the interior was lovely—the bookshelves filled with books create a unique atmosphere. Ordering and paying through the phone was easy and convenient. The coffee was excellent, and the pepper jam-filled omelet was delicious. The friendly staff added to the positive vibe. A fantastic spot!

I really like this place and I have been here many times, but something happened with this iced latte… There was no foam and just three miserable cubes of ice, so the drink wasn’t even cold. But the place is cool anyways!
