So I want to admit something, I almost didn't come to this location after seeing all of the other reviewers' concerns about safety. It wasn't until I noticed a theme in WHY people felt unsafe here that I decided to come anyways.
I was here on a Friday night and there were no gangs, handguns, or anything to be concerned about. There was just a bunch of hispanic guys that appeared to be gathering for beers after work, which Keller's does sell. The whole back of the lot was full of people drinking beer, but it wasn't in the least bit concerning.
The environment might be unsettling for those who aren't used to it, but your safety isn't in the least bit an issue here.
Also worth noting that this location is definitely a bit run down in comparison to their other NW Highway location, but I don't need renovations to enjoy a good meal in my car. If I remember correctly the original Keller's location closed back in 2000, and this location has been around longer than the NW Highway location.
So set your comforts aside and just eat a dang burger here already.
Everything is incredibly cheap, it all tastes amazing, and the service was friendly and quick. What's better than that?
Even their onion rings are great, and I typically despise wet battered rings.
The chili here is absolutely addictive. I'm a fiend for chili cheese fries and I could easily gobble up a bucket of theirs. It is worth noting that they use a slice of cheese, not shredded cheese. To each their own.
The burger though. It was fresh and satisfying. So hearty, yet light?
For clarification, beef in general is typically dense and greasy for me. It can easily lag me down, but this burger didn't. I was able to stay up well past midnight for once, which is nearly impossible nowadays especially after a meal like this.
Their chocolate shake is also good, but pretty on par with most places. Appears to be made with soft serve ice cream. Still cheap though, so that's a win in itself.
Overall you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least swing by for a meal. This place is a gem in itself, just maybe not the kind you're used to.
