Kelley's Tavern and Grill

Amazing service and food was excellent!! We got the Patty Melt, Bratwurst, and BLT. Everything was cooked to par and the taste and flavor was soo good. Definitely recommend! Our server, Melissa, was also very sweet and attentive to our table. As a first time visitor, I will say we will mostly likely be visiting again in the near future!

We were started off with peach corn muffins and with the nick name Cornbread my skepticism of southern staples runs deep but they did not disappoint! Dad chose to build his own burger with baked potato salad while I had the 1/2 basket of chicken livers with sweet potato fries that came with a cinnamon marshmallow fluff dipping sauce. Everything was flavored or fried to perfection, will definitely be making the 2hr trip back to try more off the menu.

We are visiting from out of town for work so we wanted something easy for dinner. We ordered to go meals for dinner. It was ready in a timely manner and was perfect portions for a lighter dinner. The jumbo chicken wings were jumbo and you can choose one sauce or one dry rub per 6 wings. These were the garlic Parmesan. I ordered a large house salad and added tuna fish salad to it. I liked that the tuna salad wasn’t full of mayo and had a good flavor to it. It was a generous portion and I picked ranch to go with it. I had to try the sweet potato fries based on reviews and it came with a sweet almost marshmallow and cinnamon flavored dipping sauce which was amazing. Overall, the food was good and it was a nice easy dinner.

Magnificent! Absolutely Perfect. The food was Beautiful, and sooo delicious with portions large enough to share or take home. Our allergies were taken seriously and happily met with tasty alternatives. The staff were happy, and it was a joy to be there. I've included pictures because the food was so beautiful. That gorgeous, heaping salad is a SIDE salad!!

The food here is absolutely amazing. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The waiters and waitresses are always so nice and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. They have a family feel to the restaurant which I love! Definitely one of my go-to spots!

I had the build a burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was delicious. Probably the best burger I have had at any restaurant. Nice flavor and juicy. I have never had peach cornbread muffins that were brought out before the meal. I will neither confirm or deny that I ate more than one bowl often them. My lunch was absolutely delicious.

A very welcoming local tavern/restaurant with excellent food and service. We enjoyed a lunch with another couple for a later lunch and the food was delicious. My wife has a new favorite place as their fried chicken livers (she said, I do not eat that!) were outstanding. The "1/2 Chicken Liver Basket" was more than a single person could normally eat so grab a takeout box! I had the (need a fork) Kelley Dog. Yep, filled with all kinds of goodness. (Cheese dip, Chili, red onions & jalapenos. Our friends had the excellent Patty Melt and Kelley Burger. 4 thumbs up! The waitress was excellent also, just perfectly attentive.

First time visitors. Came on a weekday during lunch and our server was Tyler. I had previously looked at a dinner menu without realizing it, however he checked with the kitchen and was able to get me the hamburger steak plate that I wanted, which was excellent. My husband had the fish and chips and was pleased as well. Overall great experience. Would definitely come back.

I saw a review recommending the Reuben so decided to try it. I went with my wife and daughter. I had the Reuben with fries. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough with okra. My daughter tried the fish and chips with sweet potato fries. All three were exceptional. Inside was smaller than expected, but nice and clean including the restrooms. The bartender waited on our table and the service was excellent as well.

Visited on a Sunday while in the area for a soccer tournament. We didn't look at the hours, and therefore didn't realize that they close on Sundays at 3, after their brunch service (we walked up at 2:50, and I hate being that gal that walks in at closing). We were going to turn around and find another place, but they welcomed us in! The wings had pretty good flavor and were satisfying in a pinch. My guy had the chicken and waffles, and they smelled divine. We had some beers and were out the door in 40 minutes. Lovely place, comfy booths with a nice bar. Thank you to the wonderful staff. You guys were so friendly and accommodating!

Burger was awesome, especially with bacon, service was good, everyone was great. Drink was good, vibe was good, had tvs on by the bar.

Solid upscale sports bar atmosphere with better food choices than most sports bars. Not giving 5 stars because well, that's saved for fine dining in my opinion. I got the shrimp and grits, very tasty! My husband got the French onion soup and it was average, the cheese wasn't melted and enough. Our drinks were good. Be prepared to spend more than you normally would at a sports bar but I felt the prices were fair for heat we got. Service was good, parking I could be tricky we got the last spot unless there's a back lot that I didn't see? Worth a try!

Tasteless food and poor service. I can't figure out why their parking lot has cars other than employees'.

Not too many reasonably priced Tavern lunch spots out there these days that smoke their own ribeyes & smoke brisket for their take on Philly Cheese Steak, French Dip & corned beef sandwiches, things that Kelley's Tavern does very well. We met friends for lunch on Black Friday & expected a mad house but surprisingly found the establishment not busy at all. Parking was easy in their own lot. Menu has bar food favorites including a fish & chips plate & salads. Spacious booths provide diners room to spread out & we were pleased that the tap room's TV's volume was kept to a minimum so that we could comfortably converse. Service was provided by a team of pleasant individuals. All HOT sandwiches ordered came out of the kitchen piping hot. Salad's beautifully presented & put together with fresh quality ingredients. Kelley's is a great find & we will be back.

I haven't been disappointed yet with the food at this restaurant. I chose to get something different this time, and the service was quick as usual, food was ready in 15 minutes! I got the tavern salad this time and this sweet and savory salad had me wanting more. The candied pecans with the goat cheese is such a great pairing. I did choose to use my own dressing (equivalent to a balsamic vinaigrette) just because I didn't want the walnut berry vinaigrette that comes with the salad. The ambiance here is very welcoming, darker lighting setting the mood for a relaxing atmosphere with great food.

Very clean and simple tavern vibe with great food and drink options. Service was friendly and the French onion soup hit the spot on this cold evening. Guinness beer chicken was awesome...crispy skin with delicious flavor and a brown sugar finish.

No way will I ever go there again.! Wings were dry and tasteless. Went to see a NFL game on a Saturday and they have Pee-Wee Herman on tv's, No audio for games, Place is dead and they acted like it was a full house. I felt bad for the waitress bcuz it was out of her control. Go to Buffalo Wild Wings which is 10 minutes away from this sad place. Do not go there unless you into Pee-Wee Herman.! True story.! 1/2 a star but they don't have that option.

We stopped in for lunch after Church. Nice find! We got the hamburger and Chicken salad. They were both very good. We will definitely be back soon!

Service was fast. The wings came hot and cooked to perfection. The cornbread needed butter, but a nice free gesture. Overall, wood recommend.

We tried this place for dinner last night. Big mistake. Our experience was somewhere between bad and awful. The bad: wife and I ordered the $13 burgers, very well done for her, medium for me. Something was "off" with the taste of the meat (the menu described it as local grass fed "Talmo Beef") We both noticed it and it wasn't a good thing. My side salad was wilted and soggy, and served 5 minutes after the burger. Her side, mac and cheese with white Cheddar and spiral noodles, was OK - just not what she expected. Overall, the service was average, as long as you don't mind making multiple requests for napkins, water refills, or the side you ordered. Now the awful: I was sick all night - stomach cramps and diarrhea. I don't have a weak stomach and eat red meat cooked medium to medium rare on a regular basis without any issues. Just saying. I'm not buying all the 5 Star reviews here and neither should you. There's better food, service, and ambiance at more reasonable prices around the corner at Wild Wing Cafe. If you're thinking about having a night out at Kelley's, JUST DON'T.

We came here for a lunchtime meal on a Saturday a few weeks ago. They had a special lunch/brunch menu that was cool. I got a delicious burger with pimento cheese and bacon and bacon jam. I loved every bite!! I also got a side of fries. They were seasoned perfectly! I couldn't stop eating them. This would be a great place to watch a game or meet some friends for a meal. Pretty laid back vibe. Booths and tables available!

We have been here multiple times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Most recently I took my Mom on Sunday for Brunch and it was delicious. She especially enjoyed the Sweet Potato Fries. They were short staffed and busy, but everyone had a great attitude. Our server, Madison, was working tables in addition to the bar and she was excellent. Give this local place a try and you will not be disappointed.

Never disappointed, amazing food and great vibe. Owner is present and pleasant. You know he loves what he does. Always a good time, staff is friendly and fun. I am new to area and treated like family. A must experience.

1st time visiting this establishment. Service was extremely slow at lunch time. 10 min just to get a server to take our order. The salad was soggy! By the time 2 salads came out we were there 45+ minutes. Had to ask for a refill of a Diet Coke several times to different folks. I think these folks are clueless of how bad their service is. Unfortunate but True.

The vibe for this place is chill and calm. The bartender was a gem herself and entertaining definitely a plus. The drink was strong and not watered down at all. I did like that and the fact the wings were on the money. The prices tho are high so come prepared.

The service could be much better. Today the server dumped French fries in my husband's lap saying "Oh, sorry", then walked away. When we compl our meal, our waitress was at a table with another waitress talking. We waited over 10 minutes for her to complete her conversation. I gave up and walked up to the register to pay our check. She walked by me and said "I guess some people are in a hurry". She then said "I hope you have a better day". My h stated that we had been waiting over 10 minutes for her to come to our table. She replied "well I just like to talk to people. We are very disappointed in her rude attitude.

Excellent food and service!!! We ordered the pretzel bite appetizer which comes with honey mustard or cheese sauce. My girlfriend is allergic to Jalapeno pepper, so we asked if there were any in the cheese sauce. We did not say anything about her being allergic. Our server said no but before serving us she double checked and let us know in fact there were jalapenos in it and wanted us to know. We chose the honey mustard instead. Our server did not have to do that, and I feel went above and beyond to take care of her customers. The appetizer as well as the entrees were great, service was top notch. We will definitely recommend Kelly's and will be back!!!!

Food not very Good, not as good as the reviews made it sound like. Would not go back. Chili was very good. Burger was not cooked to order, too pink. Couldn't eat it. Sandwich was off in taste, hard to give accurate description. Staff very friendly. Service good.

Been here a couple times now and 5 stars each time, but especially this last time with Tyler as our waiter. He had so patience for our party of 9 and joked around with my uncle, which I appreciated. We had great service. The food is excellent. The corn muffins and fried cheese bites are my favorite appetizers. We ordered the steak flatbread, wings, burgers, salads, prime rib dip sandwich etc - everything was great. My parents had old fashions which they enjoyed and my uncle and I shared the giant beer tower, which was fantastic lol even though the elderly around us kept starring Highly recommend this spot if you are in the area. It's new, very clean & all the staff was very kind.

Always great service and the food is terrific! Reuben's, chicken livers, wedge salad..... I recommend Kelley's to everyone.

My writer friends and I go here for dinner every 2nd Thursday of the month. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I LOVE this place. I always look forward to going there for our authors socials.

This was by far one of my favorite finds! I was driving from Dahlonega heading home & stop by this tavern. Our group of 10 was seated within a reasonable time & we ordered one of each category of food. We loved it all! Our sever MJ was the sweetest waitress, the rest of the staff was so kind also. It's about 45 mins from my home & i can't wait to go back again.

Found a great new place in Gainesville near but off the square / on Main St We had the Reuben ( grilled w butter) and sweet potato fries - that was awesome And the black n blue burger w Mac n Cheese Also great! Mac n cheese is not the creamy style but w great taste The Sweet pot. fries had an unusual tasty dip made with marshmallow fluff n cinnamon that was spectacular ! Big menu variety and you can order things any way you like too Y'all gotta try this place Please put closed captioning though on a couple of the TV's / so u can know what's going on without sound (plus I'm hearing impaired so CC is handy for me) We shall return !

Always have had really good food here not the case yesterday. I wanted to go for Sunday brunch to get a Reuben. The Reuben had very little meat in it and the home fries tasted like they were fried in old Greece. Gave me heartburn all afternoon. Also you cannot order an appetizer on Sunday. And they don't bring muffins and jelly on Sunday to the table. Will not be back for a while.

Wanted to love this based off the reviews. It was just fine, but definitely nothing special. It was good, but not great, and a bit expensive for what it was. The burger did not come close to filling the bun (see pic). The fries have some sort of coating to make them crispy, gave them a bit of an off taste. Lots of better options around.

I've been here a few times and stopped in for lunch today. The bartender JP is awesome. The fish and chips were amazing and the lunch menu is priced way more reasonable than the dinner menu. I would recommend Kelly's to anyone looking for American bar food!

Such a charming place to eat with a wide variety of fresh food. The Tavern Salad was outstanding. Very friendly staff as well. We will be back for sure!

We were really excited to try this place & I have nothing bad to say about the food, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. The problem was the service. Our waitress was incredibly sick - no voice, coughing up a lung, eyes glossed over, could barely stand. I don't know how they were letting this woman serve tables. Other employees dismissed it saying she "just had allergies" and had "been to the doctor" but she was incredibly sick and being 38 weeks pregnant myself, I cannot afford to get sick right now. We got another waiter, but they should've never allowed her into work in the first place. Very poor business practice.

Dining here has become an at least once a week tradition for me and my husband. The drinks are excellent and the food is absolutely delicious. I can't say enough about the service and staff. It's so hard to get quality customer service but we found a gold mine. Melissa and Tony are amazing!!

I grabbed food from here while visiting someone at the hospital. Burgers were tasty. There's not a lot of options in the area, so I'd order again if I was there!

Shoutout to Nicholas for making everything perfect. The food was amazing and hands down probably the best food in Georgia. The menu has anything you could want and they will probably make you something off menu. They made my boyfriend great mocktails and made sure his food came out extra hot just how he likes it. I travel the country for work and it's live in GA. Best burger in Gainesville hands down !

In my younger years, I worked some in the restaurant business waiting tables. As a result, I have high expectations when I go out to eat. My first impression left me a little skeptical when I entered the restaurant. Being on a Thursday night, the clientele were rather quiet and the atmosphere just seemed dull. Once we were seated, my skeptical first impression began to disappear. Our waitress was top notch. She asked all the right questions, perfectly attentive, noticed what we needed ahead of time, and did not make a single mistake. On top of that, the manager was being just as attentive to customers needs as he oversaw the restaurant. Concerning the food, as I perused the menu I was also skeptical as the prices were a little higher than I expected. Once the smoke cleared as the saying goes, I felt it was the best priced food I have eaten in months! I settled on a grilled chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and a side of chili as a safe bet. My son ordered the burger and my wife the Reuben. As food was being dropped off at nearby tables I was looking on in surprise. Everything looked great. In no time at all, our food was delivered and once I took the first bite I knew I would be back again soon. I looked at my son as he took his first bite of the burger and we were thinking the same thing. The food quality was exceptional. Even the chili was way above average and I'm not even a chili fan because most of the time people put way too much seasoning and not enough substance. Most places nowadays seem to focus on cheap quality with tons of sodium to maximize profit so it very refreshing to find a place providing quality good. All I can say is great job. If I could give this place 6 stars I would and keep up the great work! See you guys again soon.

I finished my Philly steak later that night and have to say the chips had a lot more flavor to them. I don't know why that was but they tasted much better .

First visit today and we will definitely be coming back. The food was so good. The Gainesville burger was phenomenal and the cheddar grits are the best I've ever had. Give the fires green tomatoes a try if they are serving them. Our server Bear was extremely polite and quick with service. Can't wait to come back and try something else off the menu.

My husband and I stopped for lunch while traveling. We got there right at lunch time on a Friday. We ordered the chips with cheese and salsa whichwere very good. We both ordered wings. My husband said they were the best wings he had ever eaten! The service was also great, but I was most impressed by the cleanliness! I doubt we will ever be back in the area but I will definitely recommend to friends!

I came to Kelley's on a Monday and it was not too busy. I got a hamburger with pimento cheese and it was really good. Fries were good too. Service was a tad slow for not being too busy. But I'll be back.

Everything from the food to the service was horrible. I don't know how this business stays in business. The ambience was not even good. Too much lighting, and the decor lacks any character. Please shut this place down.

Wife had the French Dip, I had BLT with Chili. Incredible for such simple dishes. First time in downtown Gainsville, GA. Younger than me gentleman who served use made us feel like at home. I hope to come back.

Overall, the food was nice. It has a nice venue and I would love to come back. However, the pricing is what kills it the most for me. There were items on the menu that were more than they should be. For me, it's definitely an experience that's worth coming over with friends for a nice lunch/dinner. However, this is definitely not the place to come to on a daily basis.

Not too shabby! Very clean, friendly staff, and the food is good. I got the Philly Steak. I only wish they offered more steak on the hoagie. My buddy got a burger and it looked legit! Next time.
