lemme tell ya 'bout Kelly's Tavern. Shiiiit, them drinks was cold, that Bloody Mary was fire, and dem bartenders? Lawd have mercy, they was fine as hell. I went in for a lil' somethin' somethin', and lemme tell ya, I almost forgot why I came in the first place. I was too busy watchin' them mix dem drinks. It was like a magic show, but instead of rabbits, they were pullin' out these incredible cocktails. Let's just say I left there feelin' good, both inside and out.

Man! This place is so cool! All the people there are local friends. The community is definitely here. Friendly, respectful and rowdy.

As far as I know, they don't sell food. But the vibe is good and drinks even better.

Small little joint. The atmosphere was pretty chill. I went during a Dodger game night so it was packed with Dodger fans. They had a DJ playing some tunes, people were either dancing, talking, laughing, or playing pool. Yes, there is a pool table, but I didn't really get a good view of that part of the bar. I just noticed there were people playing as well. There aren't too many seats available fyi, oh and also, the parking is located in the back of the bar because it sits right on Firestone Blvd.

Awesome place to enjoy a go vibe and pool table is for play nice homie environment clean and very well and neatly set for anyone who need a good get together.

If you're looking for a place to people-watch without the pretense of a fancy bar, Kelly's Tavern is your spot. The beer is cold and the bartenders are surprisingly easy on the eyes. My buddy Peppers, who's normally a bit picky and being the creep staring at the female Bartenders but after a few brews found himself drooling over the bald dude behind the bar. (Weird, right?) Just ignore the local barfly, Jerry, who seems to think he's a coyote. His howls might be a little unsettling at first, but they've grown on me... it's super easy to full up your toolbox with "ratchets" here

Went in on Tuesday night expecting a quite chill night. Bee was bartending, first time I ever received service from her. It was a very busy crowded night. Her vibe was amazing. Even though she was busy she was smiling, vibrant and friendly. Rudy who also works there was off that night but sitting at the bar enjoying his evening. His vibe as well was amazing. Kelley's was fun that night thanks to Bee and Rudy. Security was also on point. No drama. Very chill. Restrooms were clean. Service on point. All in all an amazing night. Thanks!!!

Welcoming Bartenders drinks are yummy and live DJ Fridays and Saturday's always a good time and they have security to keep you safe.

This place was popping on a Saturday night. They had a DJ playing and there was a Taco Bar right outside. I felt the DJ played great music. The crowd was loving it. 10/10. The drinks were a little weak. I felt like I was at a chain restaurant where they measure the shot, which is annoying. More soda water than anything. This isn't my local bar so I totally get it. The service was still good. The bar tenders were none stop and still stayed on top of it. You can tell they give better service to the locals. All in all, I still had a good time. I highly recommend for the music and atmosphere on Saturdays.

Very fun dive bar. Pricey for what it is because the place is very very small and narrow but there is always a vibe on the weekends. I've never seen an issue with the patrons which is great when you walk into a divey place. You order at the bar which is always fun

The atmosphere is great. Staff are amazing and very attentive. Everybody knows everyone. A home an away from home. If you're old school you'll know about the tv show Cheer. Great bartenders.

I love coming to this bar. It's a cool dive bar, there is DJ some nights so it does get loud. It's fun on those days. Also when you come in early. It's very chill. I typically come after a long week and look forward to Mondays for the karaoke. All the bartenders are very nice & make great drinks. Not a single one messes up my mixed drink. It's perfect. Thank you to all those workers.

Found this lil gem in Downey. Has a full bar. Dj on hit, Friday nights after 9. You can vape and even start dancing. Security is really laid-back, but on point. Staff is Kool, and bartenders serve good drinks. I will come back to this place before I go to the overcrowded club next door.

When you walk into this bar, you feel welcomed. Service is on point, and all bartenders, especially Evelyn, make sure we are attended to. That's why we keep coming back. Period, done.

Of course a bartender will refuse to serve you if you're already drunk when you walk in. Any smart business would. All the bartenders Evelyn, Karina, Rudy, Mayra, Annette, Bee, Jay and everyone that works in the establishment make a great team to look out for patrons safety. Also shout out to the guy who wrote the review about the jukebox. That's not how it works. It says right there in your photo that you have to play 400 songs (not all at once) to see the next song on the queue. Everyone is a customer with the jukebox including the bartenders. Lol!

Been coming here for a few months. Bartenders are friendly and welcoming. Walking in, it's great to see there are patrons from all walks of life. Their happy hour is great. The girl with the glasses, I think her name is Evelyn, always cards and doesn't over serve. The vibe is fun especially when there are games on the screen (Dodgers). Overall, friendly and responsible servers and a great attitude. Am making this my regular bar.

Service is very quick during the day. The bar does get crowded Thursday through Sunday nights. Pool table is well maintained. A large selection of top self liquor, even Japanese whiskey. The best part of the bar is plenty of parking behind the bar.

The bartender was so aggressive and mean, we just walked in and she refused us service. We didn't feel welcomed or tended to. We were celebrating our friends promotion, I don't know if this matters but he's gay and he felt a certain way by her. She was very cruel and manipulating. She didn't even speak to us in a respectful way, she just judge my friends and told us she wasn't serving us. We felt very discriminated. I personally said great things about this bar and was sorely mistaken. She wears glasses and has her people. She isn't open to new customers or women. She just wants to service men that are regulars. I really wanted to regular this bar because my first experience was great. This time this girl was awful to us. I hope she changes her ways of thinking, we're not against you girl! Hustle! All men in here but not gay. Listening to boys in the hood in a bar full of man is not my vibe . I can tell that they did some revamping to place. I just walked in and walked right out no thank you.

Came out this passed Saturday night.. Shoutout to Jay for the phenomenal drinks! I've come here x amount of times and felt like the drinks were ok but he made them great! Fast service considering how busy it was. Shout out to the security, Big Sean, as well. Funny guy! Dj was playing some good music which had everyone dancing

The one star is for the DJ. Where do I even begin. This place is a locals only vibe. If your not a local, good luck trying to get a drink. The bar tenders ignore you, there were a handful of throw up incidents inside and outside the establishment, not a friendly ambiance, bathrooms were dirty, and the cherry on top was that one of the bar tenders was washing her foot on the bar sink after being thrown up on. She just threw her foot on the bar and started washing it very casually as we all watched. This place is sketch, nothing like the other Kelly's Tavern. Needless to say we will not be back.

Her name is Evelyn. She is a Master of her craft! Born and raised in the area, a local who is welcoming of all walks of life. She is the epitome of grace, respect, and just wanting to have a great time while serving US in a responsible manner. Let's be real, if you walk in already crossed eyed drunk, it's her duty to help you not make an ass of yourself, Bianca P. You walked in with your crew, and used the homophobic card to excuse that you should've just taken your ass home. You should actually be thanking her!

The bar tender has 400+ songs playing on the jukebox so unless you're looking to pay 7 credits to skip them forget about listening to anyone else's music. Seems like they have their obnoxious friends in the bar and ignore everyone else.

Good place to come and have a drink. The music is nice and the bartenders are very nice and good at their job. I didn't have to wait a long time for my drink and it was not weak like other places. They know how to make a good AMF. Definitely going back with some friends.

First timer, consider my self a "dive bar" aficionado, I'll give it my "go to" place when passing through Downey. Front facade you may barely notice, pull in the back parking lot, backdoor entrance. Not sure why, but everyone is asking for a lighter? ;) Nice long bar, was mostly full on a Friday night after work hour 6 pm. Diverse crowd, Ill assume mostly local. Music was eclectic, all over the map, sound vibes for everyone, bartenders seemed to know everyones name, first timer here so was OK without the personal reference or hello when I sat down. Pool table area was active, all around everyone was having a great time.

Great place good music. It gets way too busy for just 3 bartenders though on a Friday or Saturday night lol. Nonetheless bartenders are good.

Definitely not the Kelley's from the high school days. Even though previous owner was a huge racist and lame he kept the Irish tradition going which was cool. Seems like a Irish Mexican bought it and has a totally different vibe. Even though looks like they brought all the girl bartenders from the Glen definitely feels awkward and lame. They advertise happy hour all day but their prices are high and the bartenders act stuck up and too good for U. I guess I'll try the Stardust see how it is see if they kept the same vibes.

This bars has the worst bar tenders. No personal skills, customer service, and the girl that helped us had an attitude. She was rude, impersonal, and a total 100% bitch. We still tipped her, but she deserves nothing. Owner needs to re think staff and have them go through training. Won't be back ever. Wish I could give 0 stars.

New owner has done suttle changes, place looks great yet kept that traditional local Irish bar hang out. Been stopping by after work for the last few weeks. Great vive, very chill, great bartenders and drinks, cool crowd. Great drink specials and happy hour.

This place was my first time here and the bartender was so rude. Not personable and he was serving drinks after hours. He rushed us to finish our drinks and especially on one side of the bar because cops "would see us " and then he said patrons paid before the cut off. Highly doubt it , it look like favoritism. I asked and he had a worse attitude with me and said "you're one of those". Whatever that means. In all he was rude even though I tipped him $10 for our $50 service. I will not come back here.

Spun the yelp wheel for dive bars near me and found this bar. Great little dive bar, bar tenders were fun and talkative, paid alot of attention to me and my date. We left happy and would definitely go back again and highly recommend others visit too.

This place has pride of ownership written all over it. The new owner has done wonders with this gem. New Bartenders, new pool table felt, fresh paint, new AC units, ample TVs and more. Very cozy, great Happy Hour Prices, food vendors, great Djs and Karaoke :-)

This bar is horrible, will definitely ruin your evening, stay away, you been warned! The lady bartender, with blue hair does not possess any sort of customer service skills. I asked her for a mix drink, and her response was, "this is an Irish Bar, we only have Irish drinks." That was an unacceptable answer, if it was my customer I would have conveyed that message in a positive way and offer a different drink. However, it appeared as if I was a burden to her. Not all bartenders were bad, Ben in the other hand was a cool, respectful and catered to customer needs. If the bar owner understood his client base, he or she would make the necessary changes to ensure client needs are met. But what do I know, I only hold an MBA!

I was here to celebrate St PATRICK'S day at this Tavern.. But this mediocre bartender ruin my night. I asked her to pour my beer in a glass cup, she gives me plastic. I said to her my beer is going to get warm, she replies by saying, " drink it fast" and you won't have that problem. Honey you are on the wrong business, especially when you rely on tips! You need to find a new occupation, clearly you are not bartender material !

I was out with a group of friends this past rainy Saturday, when we decided to check this place out...SCORE. Nice calm diverse crowd. Drink prices are very fair, 3 beers + 3 mixed drinks + 2 waters = $28. Music was a medley of old and new tunes! The only complain, there is no privacy in the men's restroom.

Honestly i dont go anywhere else then kelleys because the vibe is right and the regulars are very friendly. Come here if you want to be social!

I use to go to this bar all the time when I was younger before I moved to the OC, we loved coming here. Last night was so BAD 4th of July weekend 1 RUDE ass bartender! She was rude to everyone at the bar, making it seem like it's our fault she the only one there giving drinks and cleaning glasses! She lucky I didn't snatch that blue hair off of her at the end. I don't know how she continues to work there, just because your the owners STEP daughter should be a reason for bitchy service. She took forever to give drinks out, normally bartender are fast and on to the next but she would talk and complain about her being the only one there and people trying to get her attention for a drink! Well yes idiot your a bartender! One of the worst experiences at a bar I've ever had! And at the end she does last call, take forever to give us our drinks and is rushing us to drink it after she took more then 20 mins to give it to us, threatening she will take the drink and throw it in the sink. And I quote " you guys have 10 mins to drink your drink or I'm throwing it in the sink!" After we waited forever to get it! She's the worst bartender in the entire world! Get rid of her asap! You don't need that kind of negativity in a local bar we once loved!
