We came for the ice sculptures and festivities as part of the Winter Carnival. I understand it is usually at Rice Park, but due to construction, it was here this year. Nice view of the river and plenty of parking nearby.

The potential here is huge, the area is gorgeous. However with multiple tent cities residing here the past year, the area needs a little love and deep power wash to rid the smell of urine & get the garbage out of the fountains

Great park during the day and amazing site seeing or scenery overlooking the river. However at night time its a great spot to see the night lights and enjoy a cool breeze........ along as you are not mugged or surrounded along with being out numbered by desperate individuals including the homeless robbing the homeless. "Help one another not by kicking them when they are down"

Very scenic location overlooking the riverfront. There's trash sometimes (that always gets picked up eventually anyway) and it even looks good in the winter at times when things are dreary. In order to get good sunrise pictures, postion yourself so you are facing Robert Street Bridge. For sunset, face towards the Wabasha bridge. Do you like boats? This is a great place to casually observe aquatic vehicles of all sizes rolling by, and if you have children who have never seen a barge or ferry, don't miss the chance to stop here. There are also train tracks and trains also frequent the area below.

Today a red tent went up near the trellis. This park is across the street from the Inter-Continental Hotel and many apartments. It is a sweet little park. This park will probably have many more tents in the next few days. Who is going to bring their kids or walk there dog here now? We the taxpayers can't enjoy the parks. Homeless have carte blanche.

I was there for the Saint Paul Winter Carnival to view the ice sculptures. It was a wonderful place to be frozen. The sculptures were beautiful. The view from the park was nice. The stage hosted good musicians. The concessions were yummy and warm

Yelp
This park is located in the heart of downtown St. Paul and is pretty basic. It spans 4.2 acres and was developed in 1922. There is metered street parking, with a 2-hour limit, in front of the park and there is other metered parking and commercial garages with in a reasonable walking distance. This park is very scenic and has a lot of potential. It sits up high and overlooks the Mississippi River. The park has some decent green space pockets that could be used for picnic and possibly frisbee or playing a light game of catch. It has a bunch of trees that provide a decent amount of shade. There is also a nice paved walkway around the parks perimeter that can be used to walk/jog. You will find some benches along that walkway that had a bunch of homeless people sleeping on them and a few people from nearby offices eating their lunch. The park could be maintained a bit better but, it is not horrible. The park an arcing pergola and two operational fountains. They are the best part of the park and make for some very nice pictures. The park is riddled with a bunch of homeless, as I mentioned, they were on the benches and one was in the fountain. The park has hosted events such as Saint Paul Winter Carnival, Country Flannel Night, Food Truck Friday: Voices of the Community, Francis Ford Coppola Winery Happy Hour, Hops & Hounds, and UCare Sunday Music in the Park. Either way, this is a nice park to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the big city, whether to sit and hang out, eat lunch, walk along the river overlook or just chill by the fountains.

Yelp
This is an ideal park for panoramas. You won't get a better view of Raspberry Island and the bustle of St. Paul can be momentarily forgotten while walking here.
