Kelly's Roast Beef

I got a 3 way roast beef sandwich. It was my first time trying to understand a Boston accent so I didn't really understand what that was until after I ordered (barbecue sauce, cheese, and mayo), but it was the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had. The balance of flavors was perfect and the bread was toasted to perfection. I wasn't going to leave a review but that sandwich single handedly changed that. I don't even like barbecue sauce normally. Would very much recommend if you're passing through Boston Logan Airport

They don’t show gluten free on the menu, but if you do ask about gluten free bread, they just might have it! The male employee checked for me and instructed on how to order. On the tablet under special request, type “Gluten Free Bread (Gluten Allergy).” Turned out to be the best airport meal for me, getting to experience a local Boston spot! The Steak and Cheese and Roast Beef Sandwiches were so killer. So happy I got to eat them!! And I did not get sick! Thanks for including gluten free, Kelly’s!

I’ve walked by this place several times when visiting BOS, but never stopped in until recently. I stopped in the morning, during breakfast time and got their roast beef sandwich, which is pretty big! The service was great that I received from the manager who took my order. They will make the sandwich the way you want (toppings). I also got a side of fries with it, which were tasty and piping hot. The sandwich had very fresh, moist, and flavorful roast beef on it. The bun was really good and nicely toasted, and the combo of the two made for a great sandwich. Definitely worth stopping in!

I know 4 is high for any airport restaurant. Kelly’s is better than average. Good menu, they may have gluten free rolls (you have to ask and they’ll check), the bacon cheeseburger is always actually pretty good and the fries are hot and crispy 8 times out of 10. Kelly’s Roast Beef, Logan International Airport. Stopped in for a quick bite. Self Order using a tablet. Ordered a roast beef sandwich. Arrived cold and warm as if it were heated in a microwave oven. Despite the odd temp, roast beef was a bit on the salty side but otherwise acceptable for airport fare. Great service.

I ordered and paid at a kiosk with no human interaction (plus for me). I got a Reuben and my wife got a meat and cheese steak sandwich. It was very surprising how good quality food. Also, the prices were reasonable, around $14-15 bucks. Each sandwich came with chips. They seemed to be pretty small bags but still they were part of the meal. We each got a 20 ounce bottle of Coke Zero for $3.25 each. That was high, but it is an airport restaurant. There were charging plugs at the bar where we ate so that was a plus. All in all it was good for airport food.

This is the steak and cheese with onions served with a pickle spear and a bag of Lay’s chips. The sandwich was very good, but could’ve used a bit more cheese. I would’ve preferred something other than chips as a side, but I thought this was a great meal at an airport.

4.9 for an airport bar/grill this was perfect. Beer was SUPER cold on draft. I got the turkey club wrap and it was perfect. Wife got the fish sandwich and it was delish. I know it’s odd to review an airport spot, but we WILL be back here in future flights.

[ Background ] Monday, September 16, 2024 at ~7:15 PM A tale as old as time: I was stranded at the airport with a few hours to spare until my flight's departure, and I was getting hungry since it was dinner time. However, I wasn't sure which restaurant to patronize. After skimming the Eater Boston article about the best restaurants in the Boston Logan International Airport and searching up the options near me (Terminal B), I landed on Kelly's Roast Beef since it seemed affordable with relatively large portions [1]. After a short walk to this establishment, I noticed I could either order with the employee or with the two self-serve kiosks at the front counter next to the register. I opted for the latter. The kiosk was nice because it showed me which food items were out of stock. [ Food ] Because I didn't have time to eat lunch, I was extra hungry and ended up ordering two items: * Clam chowder, pint ($11.99) Arriving in a plastic pint container, the clam chowder was warm and comforting amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport. The clams and potatoes tasted good, but the consistency was a bit thin. If you're a real snob about clam chowder, then this dish might be a skip. The order generously came with three oyster cracker packets. Overall, I thought the clam chowder was pretty good for airport food. * Surf & turf ($22.90) As indicated by the name, this order consists of two components: 1. "Thinly sliced USDA choice roast beef on a grilled sesame-seed roll 2. "4 oz. lobster roll". A bag of chips and a pickle wedge also comes on the side. At the kiosk, I had the option to customize the roast beef sandwich with all types of different toppings and condiments. Overwhelmed by the numerous choices, I only selected jus as an add-on. The roast beef sandwich tasted decent but not super flavorful (not surprising since I basically didn't add anything). And in my opinion, the sandwich was still a bit dry even though it came with jus. If you want to learn from my mistake and actually experience a traditional North Shore-style (also called a "three-way") roast beef sandwich, I would recommend reading up on the specifics [2, 3]. Basically, you want to add on barbeque sauce (James River), cheese (usually white American), and mayonnaise. But at least I'll know how to properly order a roast beef sandwich the next time I'm in Boston again. The lobster roll tasted decent, but I was spoiled from eating higher-quality and fresher ones on Cape Cod. Also, I wasn't a fan of the toasted hot dog bun's texture. However, if you're looking for a lobster roll on a budget, this order will satisfy your craving. [ Service ] The service was relatively quick. I received my food in a takeout bag after about 5-10 minutes. There are plenty of tables and seats in the restaurant's food court. [ Tips ] The order came with a fork, spoon, and knife. I'm guessing people here for the roast beef because is sure isnt for the fish. This was the worst tasting fish sandwich I've ever had. The only good thing was the tartar sauce. However, neither the tartar sauce nor ketchup could help this sandwich one bit. It was bland all the way around from batter to the actual fish.

Ok. The idea of a roast beef sandwich for breakfast in an airport food court sounded really weird to me, but I decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised. It really hit the spot. This sandwich had lots of roast beef and the toasted bread was fantastic. The ordering system was a self-serve kiosk and it did the job. Overall, it was a great experience.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with au jus. It was a lot like Arby's but cold sandwich and au jus. Service was good, but the sandwich was just mediocre as was the au jus. I might try this place again, but would order something else.

Mostly good. I chose this place because airport food can be quite overpriced and they looked reasonable. I ordered on the self serve. I ordered the chicken strip meal and after I added it to the cart, it asked if I wanted to"upgrade my order" to cheese fries and I said yes. It turns out they DO NOT mean upgrade but add-on. I ended up with two orders of fries. The chicken was okay but I really enjoyed the cheese fries. Service wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything other than calling out my number.

For airport food, Kelly's was pretty good! I came during the day before Thanksgiving dinner rush in terminal B. They had 2 kiosks where you self order and pay. I got the buffalo chicken wrap which came out to $12. The portion was quite generous, and it came with a pickle and a bag of Lays chips. The flavor was great, and the fried chicken was well cooked. In terms of ways to improve, the food took a long time to come out (15-20 mins), and there were no napkins included in the bag. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could.

Familiar with Kelly's all my life and dropped by the location at the Terminal B food court recently. I had an okay steak and cheese, but it lacked the Kelly's magic. Average at best. With a tiny piece of steak, it seemed like it could have come from any quick service airport stop. While the employee handing out orders was friendly, I can't say the food would bring me back.

I had fish and fries. First several bites are good then too greasy. Quickly get full (good or bad). Quite airporty food.

Heard some good reviews of this place so got one on the way out of Boston airport. I really like how loaded these sandwiches were! Got the plane roast beef with lettuce and pickles. It was a really good flavor. Roast beef was nice and tender. Only thing missing was some sauce. It was a bit too dry plain on its own. I added some mustard and turned out really good after that!

Finally got to the restaurant I've heard so much about. Have heard rampant praise, but sadly I don't think it's warranted. Is it decent? Yes. Is it great? No. Their roast beef sandwiches are better quality than Arby's. I must say tasty and desirable cooking. Yet for the portions sizes, way too much money. Is it because this is an airport location? Certainly yet I think more fries or bigger sandwiches, should be part of this cost. The self service kiosks are fairly user friendly, but I hope they'll take a look at the software. It didn't allow for some simple changes. Nice employees and glad to have tried it. Yet I don't share the enthusiasm others do.

Hey Kelly - you sure do know what you are doing with your clam chowder goodness!! If I can be real I'm not a huge clams fan but I'll indulge when it comes to the chowder version. This is the freshest version I've probably had in life!! Maybe because I was in New England?! Go figure. They had the roast beef sandwiches and fries and such. I'd like to try that the next time when I have a hankering for that. This location also had a nice bar area and the self checkout up front (which I have noticed is more of a thing basically everywhere you go post covid/up north). Great selection of sandwiches and super pricey lobster rolls but I suppose you get what you pay for on that. This I heard was one of the well known Boston eateries so I enjoyed it. Wishing there was a little more variety than just your sandwich and soup fare but I'd likely return.

Airport food is never great, and the key is to find decent food served quickly. The fish sandwich at Kelly's was HUGE and flavorful, a large freshly fried filet of whitefish with enough flavor but not too salty or greasy. Exactly what I needed for my flight. Add a soda and a bag of chips, and it was more than enough to keep me going until my next meal. If you're in the airport and looking for a decent fish sandwich, give Kelly's a try!

Our hamburger was less than adequate. Our clam chowder was very watery and the clam pieces were like little crumbles and the potato was bland. Terrible flavor and liquidy. Probably out of it 20 gallon tub and microwaved. But wait, gets worse. I showed up to the bar at 7:26 p.m. I waited for the bartender and actually had to call out to get his attention. At 7:00-28 he told me the bar was closed. I asked what time. He said 7:30. I showed him my watch in my phone and said I would like a beer. He begrudgingly served me a beer. I asked him if I could still order food and what time the food was being served until and he said we are closed. And I said well the line around the corner at the to go cashier's open and he said to me the bar is closed. My colleague said customer service at the cashier was not much better.

Located on Terminal B at BOS airport. Located across from Potbelly sandwich shop, this restaurant offers a fish platter and a fish sandwich with fries that was outstanding. Make sure you go directly to the self-service kiosk to order your food. All prices are reasonable for this locale. The temperature and texture on the fish on either plate was just perfect. The fries do not have any excess oil not are over-fried. All ingredients were fresh and adequate. Ambience was good and simple. Service was a bit slow but otherwise ok. If you are traveling out of BOS Logan gove this place a try you will not be disappointed.

My go to place for delicious fried clams Whenever I have a hankering for fried clams, two places come to mind: Woodmans in Essex and Kelly's. I am a snob when it comes to evaluating fried clams, and Kelly's checks all of the boxes:,generous portions, golden brown color indicating careful watch on frying, large and succulent clams. I returned today for lunch for the first time in quite a while. I was not disappointed. The meal lived up to my fond memories and expectations.

Stopped at this roast beef shop in Terminal B Boston Logan Airport. This is a local chain with a lot of notoriety--so wanted to give it a try with their signature roast beef sandwich three way...mayo, white American cheese and bbq sauce. If I could go 3.5 stars that is where it would be -- it is good but certainly not mind blowing...much better than an Arby's for certain. They also have a full bar which was nice.

Stopped by in terminal B. Good news is, place was quick and convenient. Utilized the self checkout. Price, no real savings. Typical airport food prices. $11 for clam chowder. Unfortunately, the clam chowder was one of the worst clam chowders I've ever had. If you like runny, this is your jam. Mine had a zero thickness and was complete liquid. All of the clam and potato sank to the bottom. No real taste either. If you want a great bowl of clam chowder, I would pass on this place. Can't speak to the other offerings.

Honestly one of the two best vendors in the airport (the other being Legal Seafood). The fact that there's now a Kelly's is mind blowing. The same roast beefs we all love.

I was so excited to see that there was a Kelly's at Logan international. Unfortunately my excitement turn to unfulfilled hope of luster. I anticipated a huge plate of full belly clams some scallops and of course the famous fries with tartar. Unfortunately this location doesn't serve clams or scallops, so I settled for a fish plate I was anticipating big fat white fluffy pieces of fried fabulousness and I received skinny crunchy and tasteful pieces of fish. The fries were also a disappointment as they were nowhere close to the quality of Revere Beach. Out of my entire meal the only thing that I can go home and rave about is of course the tarter and my water. :(

Stopped in on the way home at this airport location in Logan terminal B. Wife got a steak and cheese sandwich. I got a pint of clam chowder. Had an angry orchard bottle and a twisted tea for drinks. Both meals were good. Sliced Steak was tender. And believe it or not I rate their creamy clam chowder up there in the top tier of what I've had before -lots of clams diced into it along with potatoes etc. no skimping. Of course it was priced like other airport fare but I will add this to my list of places to stop in again.

I ordinarily love Kelly's! I ordered today from DoorDash the total came to about $143. The clams were chewy. The scallops had no taste. The french fries were soggy. A lot of the onion rings had no batter. I ordered two small roast beef sandwiches with James River barbecue sauce which is spectacular! There was very little roast beef on either of them. It used to be rare roast beef and sliced really thin and piled high. Not even close this time. The lettuce was mportly the hard piece down the middle rather than leaf lettuce I got hot sauce but no barbecue sauce and I had ordered extra barbecue. DoorDash refunded me $1.61. I now have two $11 sandwiches I will throw away. If you go here make sure you get the right condiments. That sauce is spectacular it makes all the difference in the world And for the prices, make sure you're getting well prepared food and roast beef piled high

We ordered in the airport. Half the order was right, half wrong. I'd still try it again. Messy to eat in the terminal, find a table and enjoy it. Make sure the bun gets toasted tho and get some horseradish yessss

Absolutely TERRIBLE! Chicken finger platter fries were cold and disgusting. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with horseradish and lettuce, I had to go back to get the lettuce. The guy behind the counter didn't speak very good English and handed me tartar sauce instead of horseradish. Pretty sure he had no clue what that was and just turned away and ignored me. He didn't even ask his coworkers for help, he just thought it best to act like I didn't exist. Terrible service and food, go somewhere else!

Great deal in the surf and turf. Generous "4 Oz." Of lobster on the roll, plus a roast beef sandwich. $25. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the beer was ice cold.

After finally landing home to Boston, and being up in the air for 12 hours, I needed something to eat. Kelly's at the Airport is NOT a fair representation of the Kelly's outside. However, it gets the job done. I ordered the Original Roast beef Sandwich which was good, the buns were nicely buttered and toasted, where there is a nice golden brown crunch on the outside and a chewy center. The Roast beef was a little on the under seasoned side, the was moist juicy and had that nice pick color to it. I'm not sure if it has to do with the price of everything going up or because we are at the airport, but the size of the sandwich is noticeably smaller. The lady that took my order was not rude to me, but could till that she defiantly was not in the mood to be there, nor did she want to be taking orders. Form the time I placed my order to receiving it, was well within a reasonable amount of time it would take to get this order completed. In short, its nothing to write home about, but its also not a horrible experience. If you are on the run at the airport and need something quick, this place will do the job.

Average place to eat in the Boston airport. The food is decent but I didn't feel the friendly vibe as I witnessed a customer ahead of me ask kindly for extra sauce. She was greeted by a grouchy face. Unfortunately that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

I have to say the sandwiches here are delicious! Plus the pricing is a great deal for the food. Between the taste and the price it is well worth visiting! They include chips and a pickle with every sandwich as well. While I was here I purchased the steak and cheese sandwich. It is a little greasy in all the right ways. The bun is fresh and the steak and cheese were on par. I always get a side of hot sauce which just completes the meal for me. Hopefully you will enjoy this as much as I did while you are traveling. They are have beer if you have time to sit and eat instead of taking it to go. Well done Kelly's!

A roast beef sandwich sounded really appealing. Boston has good delis, so one might have expected at least marginally good roast beef. And while a good roast beef sandwich is something appealing, a warm roast beef sandwich sounds like something else which might be good (like a warm roast beef hoagie)? ... nah, it wasn't. Kelly's isn't super fast, but the food tastes like low-end fast food - not only was the roast beef mediocre, the fixings on top were assembly-line quality, the bun was low end, and the staff was both bored and less than engaged. I won't be going back. Yes, it served as a late lunch before boarding a plane. Yes, it looked better than its neighboring fast-food establishments. Yes, it came at airport prices ($12.25 for a sandwich with tax). But no, it wasn't a good choice. Never again.

Food is decent, but way too overpriced in my opinion. A bottle of water, some fries and a pint of clam chowder cost me 2 including tax.

The Potbelly at this terminal were extremely rude so I'm glad I walked across to Kelly's Roast Beef to satisfy my sandwich craving. Also, the sandwiches are more reasonably priced here (compared to my friend's Potbelly order). TURKEY WRAP - 11.95 I forgot if this was the price but it's around there. I appreciate being able to customize and change up the order a bit since I didn't want ranch dressing or bacon. They give you a good amount of turkey deli meat here and overall, it was pretty satisfying. Nothing amazing, but it was a good amount of food and came with half a pickle and a small bag of Lay's. I guess it's pretty "cheap" for airport standards. The person who took my order was also pretty nice, too.

Made the Mistake of asking if I can eat at the Bar. Female bartender replied, ONLY IF YOUR DRINKING!!! 1st time I've EVER heard that & with an attitude. Mind you it's 11:00am. My response well I planned to but I'd rather not now! Went to order food at the kiosk, pretty simple but no option to pay cash. Ordered a Roast Beef, not only was it Cold but the Bun was Very Hard. Don't waste your money here to get mediocre food with Attitudes from everyone.

They give you a large portion for the price (17 bucks for the fish and fries meal) but it's so bland. No flavor and an unappealing crust that looks like it was de thawed after a month in the freezer. Edible but not really good.

No one working at the counter, automated touch screen ordering, card only. No thank you. I'll go to Potbelly across the hall.

Stopped here on July 11, 2024 for lunch. Ordered the fish and chips. Fish was cooked perfectly. However, it had absolutely no seasoning and no amount of salt and pepper and lemon wedges that were borrowed from the restaurant next-door could improve the taste. The tartar sauce was equally as bland as the fish and did not improve the flavor. I would pass on the fish and chips. Maybe the roast beef is better.

Ordered a fish sandwich and had plastic in the breading. It had no flavor, and they forgot the cheese. Also forgot fries. The service was decent. Decent atmosphere as it was in the airport.

It was self checkout and fast probably bc it was completely cold and looked like it had been sitting all day in a fridge. The tortilla was soggy. It's worth walking to another part of the airport.

Forced to place my own order and they still can't move orders thru. And what happened to the option for horseradish??? No pickles???

I had a long wait for my roast beef sandwich and noticed that numbers higher than mine were already being called but I still waited patiently knowing that it happens. While waiting I saw this guy from the outside return a sandwich (you know where I am going with this). It sat on the counter, I heard my number, the sandwich went through the kitchen/front area window to the kitchen. Sat there for a bit while the cashier went inside and took it from the counter inside and finally called my number. Mind you I never took my eyes of the roast beef. So as he was trying to give it to me I called him out stating that I'm not going to take the sandwich because someone else already had it and it had been returned. It was of course denied so I told him, I never took my eyes off of it. At which point he offered that another one be made.

Popped in here today for a couple of Sam Adams beers. The bartender poured us a Cold Snap and the regular lager. They were perfect, but a bit pricey, near $20. We were going to order the steak sandwich but noticed it was very small for the price you pay. There's lots of bright seating here, with many tables featuring power outlets.

Grabbed a quick sandwich here before heading back home. It's not bad, it feels like quality ingredients. The only issues we had were there really wasn't a lot of flavor in the beef and they were out of au jus. Outside of that, it was pretty solid. The folks behind the counter were quick and kept everything clean. Not much more you could ask for in an airport.

Looked good. Smelled good. Memories of actual Kelly's locations were good. Extra time waiting for plane so why not!? Fish tasted like city tap water. Tarter sauce was straight Mayo. My stomach started hurting before made it half way through. Nice workers at least...

Given that this location is in Logan airport please consider this rating within that context. The location is clean and well kept! The employees were all friendly and helpful! I had the roast beef sandwich. It was good but they could have stacked a little more meat on it.... I enjoyed a Sam Adams summer beer and it was fresh and cold! If you're looking for a place to eat in this terminal it's great! Some tables have plugs for you to charge your phone while you eat at the bar...

Not consistent but ok for fast junk foods with some quality products, tartar sauce is excellent and lobster roll , claim plate ( not strips) . Roast beef, chicken roll and fish plates always great.

Look it's the airport people - let's keep our expectations low. This place has a window to order to go or you can sit by the bar and order food there. The bartender was really kind, a lot more so then the woman working in the to go area. He made hell of a screwdriver, not too much OJ and we ordered chicken tenders and a turkey wrap with bacon- both items were tasty and came out fairly quick.

Trying to revisit memories of late night Kelly's roast beef (Saugus, over a decade ago!), we visited the BOS location on a long layover. The roast beef sandwich was pretty darn good, but a bit more dry than I remember. Prices are high, but in keeping with airport prices. The fish and chips was pretty horrendous, however. Fish batter was hard and crusty, not good. Fries overly salted. Clam chowder was pretty watery. Of the items we tried, stick to the roast beef!

I normally don't review airport food but this was the best burger I've had in a long time. Toasted, buttered bun?! At the airport?! Perfect fries. Quick. Didn't cost me my firstborn.
