Kelly’s Roast Beef

The food is really good and fresh here . I been to Thai location a few times. They also have seating and public restrooms inside . The food price is good for the quality . They have plenty of parking . We went through; drive thru , staff is friendly. I got a fish plate with fries and onion rings and extra Tara sauce it was really good.

We were wicked excited that Kelly’s finally opened after many long months of passing by construction. The food taste as what I remember the Kelly in revere minus the hungry seagulls and sand. I thought there was definitely some consistency in the Kelly’s brand. The food taste great! We went to the drive-through and ordered only two things. The drive-through had a long line and I could see why people were not willing to wait there. Obviously depending on the order depends on how long you wait in the drive-through. Once we ordered the whole belly clams and lobster roll. When we finish paying there is only one customer waiting for their order because it must’ve been a complex or massive order because there were 3 cars that had already received their order and left. The Kelly employees do make you standby with the car near the side door for orders that may take a little bit longer to prepare. When we finish paying for our transaction, our order only took two minutes to be delivered to our car in the drive-through We were expecting longer wait times after submitting our order, but we did get our food in a timely manner. I think that once they open their doors to have eat-in, that comments of soggy fries and food will go away. I think the community needs to be a little patient with the shortages of workers. I would definitely order again I had a great experience 😁

Best roast beef sandwich get the 3 way . great Cole slaw. Place is clean , service is polite and friendly and fountain soda machine with many flavors and free refills.

What happened to the lobster????! The quality of my food was excellent as per usual, but the quantity?? I did not pay $33 for a PINCH of lobster in my bun. If Kelly’s is going to advertise overfilled buns of succulent lobster, then please do me a favor and provide that to your customers. I’ve never had a problem with the quantity of my food here until today. This place will not make it, if they continue to overcharge for minuscule portions. I was better off buying a whole lobster and making my own sandwich at this point, which I assure you will happen if I ever have a hankering again. Please see attached photo. Kellys oh kellys what happened to you. I spent a lot of time in my 20s in Medford and found myself eating at Kellys quite often. I loved the food but the one in dedham I have tried twice and didn't even want to finish the food either time. Both times bland and cold. Staff was nice enough but food no thanks.

Service was polite, restaurant was clean but WHAT HAPPENED to the food? The roast beef had so much fat on it the fries are flavorless and the chicken was just dry and bad.

Even though some drivers at drive thru were impatient. The guy working at the window, was very courteous and friendly. He made sure we had the correct orders, because some customers were ignorant and drove off. Once we came forward, he asked what we ordered to make sure it was correct. It may take time, but people need to realize these items are freshly made so it takes a bit to cook and serve. My suggestion is, please be patient with the staff they work hard to make sure we get the best service.

I have a wheat allergy. They were really great about showing me the allergen menu and answering any questions I had. The food was good too. I would definitely recommend them.

Great classic Kelly's food ! This is a new well maintained restaurant with polite staff that serve the great food Kelly's is known for. The service was prompt and courteous. The ambiance is clean and modern. There is plenty of parking and easy street access. The roast beef was great and what Kelly's is known for. On a previous visit, an item was not in the takeout bag and Kelly's promptly sent us a gift card. They stand by their product and service. We will definitely return ! Jim

The seafood was cooked perfectly and delicious. I ordered mozzarella sticks and was extremely happy that there was a good cheese pull.

" The fish plate , is everything " I have been coming to Kelly's since a child . This one in Dedham is a new location. However the taste is just as mighty and delicious. The signature tarta sauce takes me back to my childhood . Yum ! Prices went up a bit but not too much . The service here is good , mostly always in Kelly's in general. The vibe is super friendly and welcoming. We went through the drive thru , however I seen tables inside if you want to eat inside . They have a parking lot so parking should not be an issue .

Hubs and I wanted to go to a roast beef place while we were in Massachusetts. The last time we went to a Kelly's Roast Beef was in New Hampshire. The place is your average fast food joint, with crisp white walls, a large counter to order your food at, and two red Coke machines standing next to it. We sat at a wooden booth by the window. Hubby noticed that he's been to Kelly's more than McDonalds which is big because we don't live in Massachusetts. We ordered the following to share: Large roast beef combo- thin slices of roast beef on a grilled sesame seed roll. Hubs remembered this sandwich being rarer the first two times he visited one of these locations. It came out a bit overdone. He said that he wished that he inquired about the rareness of the meat, but he's still happy. Daughter liked it and thought it was ok. Popcorn shrimp plate- Daughter thought it was tasty. She loves popcorn shrimp and was glad that there were so many on the plate. HUbs loved the onion rings and thought it was the best fast food onion rings ever. I've ordered the frappe, in other locations. So, I was happy to see that they still have it available. They come in many different flavors, but I ordered coffee frappe. Service was quick. Will return when in Massachusetts to try other items on the menu.

Very hard to find so go on Rte 1 and you'll see it from the highway. Go thru the Drive Thru then and order. I ordered a delicious succulent Lobster roll with a potato chips and a slice of dill pickle. My husband ordered his favorite fried clam plate because of the "bellies"! The clam chowder was thin but had lots of clams and chunks of potatoes! The roast beef sandwich was good too! Drive Thru service was fast and efficient! Will be sure to be back when visiting Boston! So glad for this Dedham location which is much more convenient!

So very happy for this new Kelly's in Dedham that opened about a year ago. I've only been twice now as it's a bit far for me but when I get that roast beef craving it's worth the drive. This location is clean, bright, and plenty of seating inside and out. I think they make the food to order especially the fried stuff since it's always hot and fresh. The roast beef sandwiches are great, and the grilled bun is the best although the roast beef is not always warm. They have a bunch of highchairs and the soda machines like the ones at AMC where it's computerized. They have a drive-through and a huge parking lot .

We tried the Dedham location when it first opened a few times. First time the lobster roll was undercooked. Second time they got order wrong. No big deal, trying to give them grace because they are new. Just ordered take out tonight and ordered 2 sandwiches and two sides. Gave us a roast beef sandwich instead of chicken sandwich. I understand mistakes happen but super annoying to find out when you're already home. Maybe double check take out orders?

It seems like employees serve portions as if the food is coming out of their pockets. Tonight's 2-way combo should have included fries, rings or both, BUT INCLUDED neither of the latter two items. I am sure I'm not the only patron this happens to. Always wondered why the parking lot is never full. Now I know. Too bad...when your seafood was good, it was really good. But overall, y'all make it hard to give a good review. Can't beat Royal Roast Beef and Seafood in Eastie.

This location is not it... Granted I haven't gone to a Kelly's in a while since other than this new location, it's not really convenient. So we were excited to try this out since we normally really like Kelly's. Not only was the food quality mediocre now, the service was way worse. We ordered a clam plate and they gave us roast beef instead. Like... what? Not even close to the same thing. Already left so wasn't going to go back. People should definitely double check their take out order...

When this place first opened was not impressed at all!!! No flavor or seasoning on the fish, onion rings, shrimp, fries who ever is cooking has no love for cooking at all!!! So six months later today 5/27/25...I try you guy's out again!!! Tryed a roast sandwich had no flavor what so ever bland as hell, it's like it was just put in the oven with no seasoning at all "NO LOVE FOR COOKING!! Also tried shrimp and and fish again nothing good to say at all someone should take the cook out back and beat him with a damn rubber chicken... And I'm a cook!!!...Never again

Scallop dinner was cooked perfectly, service was good. Place was quite maybe 2 tables with a couple of people. Prices went up quite a bit here since it got bought out by an investment company. Scallop plate was $26.95 now it's $32.50 the surf &turf up $8.00 , all the other seafood plates up $3.00 to $5.70 that's a lot when supposedly prices are coming down some what. I drive by every day and can understand why the place is not busy.

Ordered a small scallop side 3 way beef Roast beef had a strange taste like overcook to pot roast? Was ok... Scallops were abundant number for a small side... Tasted ok, not the sea scallops or fiber scallops you may get at other fish spots like legals, clam shack, Tony's or JT Farnhams or Captain Mardens Wellesley... maybe frozen before or not local ? Anyway... they ok and did the job ... their tarter I hate as like cement... Young guy serving was nice guy and rest of help trying best there... I do t see many visitors the tines I ate there. I was going to ask manager to turn heat on as was colder than the slice of cheese on my 3 way ... Another issue.. cheese should be put in hot toasted roll to soften or better melted ... Bbq sauce I recommend ask for on the side as One time sandwich not enough, another time swimming in it with sandwich doing the back stroke to survive the saucing... Tuesday is kids eat free night... Bargain with a cheeseburger, drink, ice cream... No age limits...I will bring a virtual kid and order a adult meal and get the free kid meal to go have one for lunch and other f or dinner

I've been meaning to try the new Kelly's when driving south on Rt 1 and now was my time. I was a bit surprised with the nonexistent line for drive through despite it being lunchtime. It's telling and it's not telling a great story. My buddy a big meat eater, was excited when Kelly's first opened but warned me it's just fast food now, pretty good but a bit pricey for what you get. Nothing special. He tried a few things and said stick to the roast beef and leave the seafood for seafood joints. At $27 bucks for a lobster roll I wouldn't dare unless you were paying! As for the roast beef, the Large is $11.25, and the Small is $9.95. At that price point who wouldn't spend $1.26 to get the Large? When you consider that all food prices have gone through the roof (especially it seems fast food) I believe the Large is priced about right. I could see them adding a Jumbo on an oversized bun for another couple of bucks. I would opt for that as the Large is not overstuffed at all. The portioned meat fits almost too nicely in the bun. The other sandwiches on the menu include burgers, fish, pastrami, corn beef, turkey club and a few more displayed on the website. I have to say the pictures of the sandwiches are pathetic and unappetizing. The food staging and photography is below average at best. Nothing looks great or in this case scrumptious and therein lies the problem. High expectations intentionally lowered by crappy depictions leads to below average results = 2 stars. They definitely need to "beef up" their whole game. Kelly's has name recognition synonymous with great roast beef going back to 1951, way before I was born. Perhaps franchising and the need to cost crunch everything dulled the mystique and diluted the product. Judging by the comments here which are more bad than good corporate franchise directors should be concerned as this location has a large footprint on a desirable stretch of highway which means they need to do volume. Years back when I was yearning for a roast beef sandwich in South Florida as well as Maine Lobster and whole belly clams and South Shore bar pizza, I wrote to Kellys. I asked with so many transplanted Bostonians in Florida why not open a store there. Nobody but Arby's had a roast beef take out. Well finally it happened, and they have several stores on the west coast Naples, Ft Meyers and St Pete. There's room for a store in Delray or Boynton Beach but after this visit I would say let somebody else fill that void! Look it's still a decent sandwich, just not exceptional. No complaint on the amount of beef it is sufficient. Taste was middle of the road with the mayo. Next time mayo with BBQ or Ketchup on the side to dip. The onion rings were really very good though and elevates the review to a 3 star. I could eat 2 orders of those with a beer and be happily burping all afternoon. And I would come back again if I was over there, I just wouldn't be salivating in anticipation like I used to be in the old days ..ah the good ole days.

Stick to the roast beef sandwich. The cheese steak is pretty disappointing with more bread than beef. The fried seafood batter used is unflavored so the tartar sauce is where it's at. The onion rings fall apart and are pretty watery but if you air fry them at home, they turn out great. In terms of best to worst for fried seafood, clam belly, scallop, fish. This location now offers dine in, whereas the past two months have only been drive thru. Clean, bright, and with plenty of parking, the roast beef sandwich here is leagues better than the one at Costco.

I eaten two meals here. Fish and chips. And the Lobster roll. Both Delicious and fairly priced. The service is great and the restaurant is nicely decorated.

They have the coated/battered French Fries. Fail. The cheeseburger was just not good. And the whole thing was put in a plastic container that didnt match the food. Serve your fries in a carton and wrap your burger in foil or get a little box for it or something. People want that experience. ​

I had a terrific time on my trip to Kelly's it was my first time ever getting to dine at one of these locations and it won't be the last. I got a fish plate and it was absolutely delicious and the service given to me by one of the employees I believe his name was Amund was spectacular we had a nice conversation, and he answered all my questions very politely, and very professionally.

Kelly's has sold out and ruined a good thing. The food is terrible and the service is just as bad. The fries and onion rings are different and not for the better. You can't get your own ketchup anymore and when you ask for extra packets they want to charge you. I grew up with Kelly's and this is disappointing. I can't imagine this business is going to last. It's awful.

I'm not in the area often but I had seen this place being built and was curious. I wasn't even sure at first if it was open because most of the parking was in the back and if not for the one car I saw at the DT window I would have assumed it was still not open. It was peak lunch time and not many people there. The young guy working the from counter seemed not to happy to be there and took my order while leaning over onto the counter. I could barely understand his mumbled words when talking to me. I ordered a fish and chips plate and a coffee frappe. I got the frappe first and it was just okay, seemed like it needs some coffee syrup added from the milk watering down any flavor from the ice cream. The fish and chips were actually a generous portion and the chips being a mix of onion rings and fries was a surprise. The food was pretty good just wish it had coleslaw included, the food quality being decent was at least a plus. I can't say I would go out of my way to come here as I live near millers and Walt's in RI and both have better service.

I am going to start I ordered my food and I was waiting for my food. I saw a lady serving my food without glove she touch the food with no glove that was so f disgusting. I couldn't eat my food I never agin Personal me not coming back here,

As a longtime fan of Kelley's I went to try their new Dedham location. I was very disappointed with the total lack of customer service. I waited at the counter for 5 MINUTES, no one seemed interested in taking my order. I won't be back. Staff was totally unattentive. Being very disappointed, I don't think that I will try that store again.

If I could give this place a zero review, I definitely would. It is the worst fast food place I have ever had in my life. First off, the food is definitely overpriced and not worth it. Second, the food has no flavor whatsoever. Everything is so bland it just tastes like plastic. Even the sauces lacked flavor and The kids max and cheese was literally krafts mac and cheese and lacked all flavor. Complete disappointment. You're better off avoiding this place.

At least 5 times here. Always very friendly service at the drive through and food has been on point!! The surf and turf is definitely at least 2 meals and for the price it's amazing! The lobster roll would be at least $20 elsewhere...it was delicious and all meat! The roast beef was delish as always!

Food was great as always at Kelly's. Service was quite helpful. Not much ambience just places to sit to eat clean and neat.

So I come to Kelly's at lunchtime and wait ten minutes in the order line. One open. Order my food (two large sandwiches, side of clams to go) and notice they have a bit ten sandwiches at lunch and get one free. I ask the cashier to stamp the card. She says she is not sure what I bought is eligible (?) so she goes and asks someone else. He says yes. She gives me one dot. I say I bought two sandwiches. She says oh it's only one per visit. Huh? I told her to keep the card. Let's see if I'm willing to pay 52.80 and add a forced guilt tip of 15% again. I doubt it. Thanks for negative experience. Two stars cause I'm assuming the food is going to be good. It usually is.

Stopped here after a wake to try to for the first time. Drive thru line was 2 cars plus me. Ordered a 3 way and a beef meal. 30 bucks for 2 meals and huge drinks. Was excited to try it. Waited fifteen minutes for it in the drive thru line. Might want to consider cutting out the drive thru and do online ordering if its going to take that long. Get home to open the food. My fiancés meal looks great, open mine up to maybe 10 fries and a sandwich I didnt order. Are you kidding? Staff were nice enough but get rid of the drive thru, implement online ordering and train staff on proper portions.

Size lrg is big! Very good. Beef cooked perfectly. Could've used a little seasoning but overall very good. Seafood combo was very good. Light batter on clams and lit dusting on fish. Came with half fried n onion rings. Tasted fresh and good. Tater sauce just a little to think, but good. Single Hot dog, no side. Hot dog was average size but all beef n good taste. Buns are buttered on the griddle and is delicious. Tell them the condiments you want in it.

I love Kelly's but today's order was more than sub par. The scallops are burnt, and the clams are falling apart and nit breaded well. It's a mess!

Tried the Dedham location for the 1st and now last time. Ordered a fishermans platter which the cashier did not know what it was but we figured it out as a 4 way. ordered 2 of them and a hot dog. asked for the tartar sauce and cole slaw to be put in seperate bags as I don't eat either at all and have had the contaniers open up and get on my food. well I can say the hot dog was good, the 4 way which also came with french fries and onion rings were both under cooked and the onion rings the breading was gritty. the fish was ok it looked like a nice sized piece of cod and was cooked well. the 2 (yes 2) shrimp were just ok, the 5 scallops had no taste at all but the breading did stay on. the clams with bellies was the big disappointment, they were huge and I thought i could order a clam belly box the next time but the clams (8 or 9) were very very salty to the point i threw them away after trying 3. they also did not follow the directions and the tartar sauce was in the box with the food. The next time i will take the longer trip to Saugus where after ordering from there well over 100 times the only mistake was a forgotten scallop box 2X. once i was able to fight the traffic and go back and the 2nd they took my name down and the next time i came i got it for free.

We've been going to Kelly's in Dedham for take out large roast beef sandwiches on Thursday or Friday lunches for over six months and they've been perfect. The rolls are soft, toasted crisp with very thinly sliced roast beef round that is very tasty, medium rare. I plan to go there tomorrow and the meat is always tender, flavorful and moist. It's my go to and much easier than driving to the North Shore for others that maybe as good. I must add that I believe their best services are made when they are busy, the beef was likely roasted recently and it is warm and freshly sliced then.

My stars are purely for the service - first off the place was pretty empty when we went in around 530p on a Sunday. Not a big deal cuz we know it's a new spot. We settled at a table since we had 4 adults and two babies. I, then get this gruff man coming up to me "you can't have outside drinks in here" with a condescending tone and I'm like oh sorry but also when I looked around, there are NO SIGNS STATING SO...so is it really a rule? Or you just trying to be rude? Could you try and be human cuz it felt like you think I purposely brought in my coffee as a eff you to you and this establishment? No sir, I'm just a tired mom of a baby who has coffee with her all the time. So that put me off immediately. By the way, the man who was rude and gruff was the meat cutter. Had a beard. Didn't smile or anything. Like he hates people and he's just there...maybe he does hate people and needs this job...but wouldn't it be a bit easier to do this job if you got tips cuz you ain't getting tips with that attitude. Anyways, we go to the counter, there are 4 workers, all not making eye contact and it just feels like we're intruding in their space except isn't food service all hospitality?? Finally someone makes eye contact and in a monotone voice takes our order. I tried to crack a joke and smile the entire time so my annoyance at Mr. Gruff Hates People Man didn't affect my response to the other workers, but it didn't yield much. We ordered. Sat. Got our food which was delish! Coming from Cali, we loveeee the seafood in Boston so yes to all the lobster rolls. The guy who brought our food over did smile at our babies and so I'll give a star back because when I started this review we were at 2 stars. So long story short, come for the food and not the service which is a shame because the place looks so nice and spacious - worthy of a lot of family and friend hangouts. Maybe next time we'll just do take out?

tricked you into paying @ DRIVE THRU ONLY. then made u wait 15+ minutes for a PLAIN ROAST BEEF SANDWICH& told u REPEATEDLY "it's coming" So is Christmas. May God Bless them

Man I wish we hadn't taken them for granted. They were in Jordan's Furniture for a while and we so got used to getting either Fish & Chips or the Fish Sandwichs with Cheese in a minute. Love you guys the food is always consistent. Thanks

The roast beef is good as usual, but the fries and onion rings are terrible! I don't know what the deal is, but they are totally tasteless. Are they frozen? If so, do they not know how to defrost them properly? Kind of ruins the entire experience. The service is good, and the restaurant is new and clean, but I'm just stuck on those terrible fries....yikes.

Food arrived pretty quickly but the place was also empty- went around d 4:30 on a Saturday. Service was just ok- small glitch with charging us for an extra pint of soup we didn't order but they refunded us. Roast beef was pretty bland and the sandwich wasn't hot- barely warm. Clam chowder was like a cup of milk with rubber bits in it. My son confirmed it was the worst chowder he's ever had. Close to $80 for a family of 4. I don't need to come back.

We arrived here for lunch and the drive-thru line was all the way to the street. The dining room was closed, so we had no choice but to use the drive-thru. It took 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. We ordered two roast beef sandwiches and a large order of French fries to share. The food was ready in about 5 minutes. The bag was big and felt heavy, so we took it and went on our way. When we arrived at our destination, there were no fries in the bag. No napkins either. We called the restaurant, hoping we could go back and get the fries we paid for, but no one answered the phone. The sandwiches were good, but not good enough to make up for the long wait and the improperly fulfilled order. Probably won't go back.

I ordered from Kelly's online, and was planning on picking order up from the take-out window. Apparently, that is not allowed so I went inside. The place was filthy: tarter sauce on the counters, napkins all over the floor; trash cans were full an over-flowing. There were only two people eating in the entire restaurant. It was NOT busy. I waited in line at the counter for about 5 minutes while the one person at the counter took, what I can only assume, was an angry call from a customer. There were about 5 people in the kitchen area. My food sat and got cold on the shelf. There were three bags on the shelf. I was eventually handed two bags. Luckily, I checked the ordered because the third bag, was, indeed also part of our order. The food itself was pretty terrible. The scallops were tough, cold, had a strange flavor, and color. Oh, and it was all pretty expensive! So disappointed as I was hoping that Kelly's would be a welcome addition to the Dedham area.

Tried it on a late Saturday afternoon after it was busy said one of the employees. Definitely need to put more effort in keeping store cleaner and glass on doors, pretty dirty. But two roast beef sandwiches were as expected and hit the spot.

Went there today and was excited for a Roast Beef sandwich and boy was I disappointed! The beef was cold, dry, over cooked and absolutely no flavor. I only ate half and threw away the rest.

This new location in Dedham recently opened (take out only for now with limited hours). The roast beef sandwich was great as I expected it to be. Unfortunately, it took forever to get my order after paying at the window. They asked that customers pull around the corner in the lot and the food would be brought to you. Well, there were many cars waiting and it took 20 minutes before my roast beef sandwich arrived (and I didn't order anything else).

Roast Beef sandwich was delicious. I do suggest you get extra barbecue sauce with it.

Finally stopped in for a roast beef and lobster roll And wish I hadn't It may say Kelly's on the sign but you wouldn't know from tasting it. Dry roast beef, overcooked , cold roll. The lobster roll was edible but the bun was overcooked, just a huge letdown.

The place is clean and it is a beautiful new build building. The staff were very kind and helpful as it was our first time there. The roast beef, unfortunately, did not have any salt or pepper. The sandwich was bland and cold and our fries looked like they had been sitting out for a while.

When today with low expectations but I was surprised to see that the inside was now open. I had the combo plate of clams and fried scallops that was pretty good. Onion rings that came along with fine but to my amazement they don't know how to cook french fries. They were soggy undercooked and very greasy. I've waited many months to eat here and I will give it another try but it's not up to Kelly's standards yet.

Disaster. I've never seen people this slow in my life. If I feel I want a Kelly's sandwich from now on, I'll probably just drive to Revere. Those people know how to hustle. This is a disgrace. Waited for almost 30 minutes for an order they screwed up anyway. Unless you want to waste all kinds of time, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. Absolute disgrace, and stuff like this will eventually kill the brand, which is very sad to me.
