Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden

My girlfriend and I had an incredibly pleasant stay here. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly and proactive, always looking for ways to enhance our experience. The rooms were amazing, and the spa facilities were a particular highlight—everything was pristine and relaxing. The only minor disappointment was that three out of the five restaurants were closed during our visit. However, the quality of the service and the beauty of the property more than made up for it. We look forward to returning another year to experience the full dining selection!

A fine hotel with excellent service and offerings. Exquisite food and beverage program delivered by professional and gracious staff. Bar in lobby is cozy and outside terrasse with superbe view. Hotel well run, clean and efficient. Spa area is enjoyable and 2 pools. |Nice little town and Konigsee is a relaxing treat. Need a car.

Nice hotel, but reception staff was cold

Visited this wonderful hotel whilst on a day trip from Austria. I have been here before and wanted to show my fiancée this amazing hotel and it’s beautiful surroundings, with a view to staying here in the future. We stayed for lunch which we had in the sitting area near the bar. The food was excellent and good value. My better half had the veggie burger and said that it was the best veggie burger that she’d ever had. The staff were very polite, attentive and courteous and the experience was the highlight to a lovely day.

I understand that we are a Taiwanese tour group and were seated off to the side so as not to disturb other guests. I respect local cultural etiquette, but is it really that difficult to ask the breakfast or coffee counter staff for a latte? The female staff member said, “You already have coffee on your table.” What I wanted to say was: who would want to drink a cup of cold black coffee? P.S. The hotel’s scenery is truly beautiful and very relaxing.

If I was told to get my affairs in order because I may be passing on, going back to this Kempinski Hotel would be one of my top priorities. I’m in love with peace and the beauty of nature, and the Kempinski Berchtesgaden does it right. It’s such a gorgeous area with stunning alps, crystal clear lakes looking like free flowing streams of Evian, peaceful clean community and air, trails through the wooded alps… The moment I arrived at the front door I was impressed with how authentically friendly and professional the service team were- the best hands down from any hotel/resort I’ve visited. Anything I needed they provided with a genuine smile and desire to serve you (I’m not high maintenance though). The hotel was immaculately clean from top to bottom, the decor, lighting, and design of the entire grounds put me at peace. Waking up to the view of the alps from the bed, relaxing in the shower and stretching in the room before eating a well crafted breakfast buffet, days of adventure on the e-bike to the Königsee Lake and the salt mines, comatose in the saunas (there are about 3 at different temps) after a long day of bike riding down and up the alps, a gorgeously curated dinner with wine pairings at sunset… I am ready to return just typing this. Thank you Kempinski Berchtesgaden team for an amazing experience.❤️

Absolutely stunning hotel with breathtaking mountain views. The service is warm and professional, the rooms are elegant and comfortable, and the spa is perfect for relaxing. A peaceful luxury escape in a beautiful setting.

This is the most exquisite hotel. It’s our third visit here and it is a five star experience in every sense. The staff are wonderful. They are professional but friendly and helpful. The service is discrete and not overly intrusive. The food is locally themed and perfect. My husband and brother ordered the chateaubriand and declared it to be one of the finest dining experiences of their lives! Joahanus, Ana and Carmel were very attentive and we enjoyed chatting with them. Max in the bar and Andreas from the activity team were also fantastic but all staff were excellent. The rooms and pool area offer spectacular views. We were lucky with the weather. Already thinking about when we will be able to return again.

Alpine location. Could spend a week here hiking, biking, fishing, and stream walking through the mountains to Eagles Nest and in the clear water stream surrounding the charming town downhill. Beautiful bathrooms and alpine sleeping. Bonus: winding roads to exercise your car. -- the 3Sec Rambler

My husband and I recently celebrated our ten year anniversary with a six night stay at the Berchtesgaden Kempinski! We chose this hotel specifically because of Flying the Nest's YouTube review! It was an absolutely wonderful experience. We speak very little German so we appreciated how well the employees spoke English. Our suite had a very private balcony with a stunning view. The luxury robes and spa bag were appreciated. Ordering room service was a smooth process every time. The nightstand had a small wooden mountain to place on your bed if you wanted housekeeping to change the linens - that was a nice touch. The small things never go unnoticed. The breakfast buffet and the Johann Grill were absolutely phenomenal. I cannot say enough about the restaurant staff. They are simply the best - especially the breakfast hostess, Rada. She went above and beyond to remember our names and make us feel at home each and every day. The lobby and valet employees were very kind. They even scheduled our taxi back to Munich for us. We also really enjoyed the lobby bar. We highly recommend the strawberry cheesecake cocktail and the golden rush! They also have food options available. One evening we enjoyed a nice quiet dinner in their outdoor courtyard on one of the swinging benches facing the mountains! The hotel includes a city transportation pass for your stay. But the walk to the bus stop wasn't as easy as we hoped. However, it was understandable since we were staying at the top of the mountain. The bus schedule was sometimes inconvenient. The last bus seemed to run around 6pm every night so we were unable to enjoy dinners in the city like we hoped. However, the hotel restaurants were so wonderful that we were glad to come back for dinner each night! I just wish the hotel had a shuttle that at least went to the Hauptbahnhof and back. Overall, we had a wonderful five star experience! We will definitely be staying at more Kempinski hotels in the future!

I wish I had booked more time here! We did a road trip through Austria and Germany, and I honestly would've taken off two other stops just to stay here longer. There isn't a single bad thing I could say about this establishment, the staff, the service, the restaurants in house, or the view. I will absolutely be coming back here in the future- for a much longer stay!

This place had changed my view of winter vacation (in the Alps). Michelin star (Le Ciel by Chef Ulrich Heimann's), heated indoor-outdoor swimming pool (Spa) with a killer view of the snowy mountain-tops (indoor and outside) with a full bar-menu service. Whether lounging by the spa, or sipping by the fireplace, walking in the winter-wonderland of the pine forest, or a quick skiing down the slope, this place is one of my ultimate top destinations. I can't wait to come back. Kempinski really knows its luxury component. Happy Travel !!!

What an incredible experience!! The best view and service in the world. Five star service with Bavarian hospitality. Tons of activities to do, and all reasonably priced. Perfect place for a family getaway or a romantic honeymoon. We loved it!!
