From our very first email, the service was exceptional — polite, attentive, and truly proactive. I would especially like to thank Mr. Adrian Rušiti from the reception for his outstanding assistance in organizing our special evening. Thanks to him, we truly felt cared for and warmly welcomed. The romantic setup prepared in our room upon arrival was beautifully arranged and thoughtfully designed — a wonderful way to begin our stay. We were also deeply impressed by the dinner: special thanks to Chef Tomáš Chilý for the exquisite menu and the impeccable taste of each dish. It was one of the best dinners we have ever had. We would also like to highlight the delicious and diverse breakfast — a wide selection of dishes, fresh ingredients, and a pleasant atmosphere made every morning enjoyable. The SPA area and all treatments were excellent as well. The staff is highly professional, very courteous, and attentive. Overall, we would like to praise the entire hotel team — from the reception to the restaurant and SPA. Their coordinated work, attention to detail, and genuine desire to make guests feel special are truly impressive. Kempinski Palace Portorož is a place we will happily return to. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable and truly meaningful experience.

I recently stayed in the Presidential Suite at Kempinski Palace Portorož, and once again, the experience was outstanding. The team has an incredible talent for anticipating needs before they’re even expressed—every detail, from service to comfort, was flawlessly handled. The atmosphere is luxurious yet warm, and the staff’s professionalism and attentiveness make every visit unforgettable. This level of care is exactly why I keep returning. Truly a world-class stay. Highly recommended.

To sum up: oysters gave me food poisoning. That’s already enough to describe the quality of the food and the hotel. The cherry on the top is that complaints are not taken into account. Management has never been called. The idea is that what you say is thrown in the bin. So for a 5 start hotel this is disgusting, not professional and overall disrespectful towards the clients. We have been to many Kempinski hotels and this is not only the worst but so bad it kind of destroys the trust we have built through the years for this chain of hotels. Dinner for new year did not respect what written online (no canapees served at all). We had a small child and planned for food accordingly. We asked and they told us that they were not going to be served at all. Another complaint, again words thrown in the bin. They told us we will be called to address the issue and possible compensation. The bad thing is that this becomes almost a legal issue as the Slovenian law is quite strict about what is presented in the menu and what is served and this kind of lie is not taken lighlty. They told us they can’t do anything about it. Well I guess you could think about suing the hotel about this. Final notes: the breakfast is extremely lame for a 5 start hotel hotel and everything is quite stale especially the croissant and crepes and waffles. Basically nothing can be ordered à la carte so soy are stuck with cold food. Price is way off for what you get. Well. Lesson learned. Bye bye Kempinski P.s. I am still waiting a formal response for all my complaints.

What a beautiful location for an equally beautiful hotel! I did not realize there was a new and an old part of the hotel. We were oceanfront in the old section but we loved it. The lobby is spacious and very modern. We loved the wide hallways and the doorbells for the hotel room itself. The room was a decent size overlooking the gardens and out onto the beach. It was clean, service was prompt and it had all the amenities you expect. The new section, from the outside, is very modern and does not blend with the original part of the hotel at all. It did appear that those rooms had larger balconies to sit on, whereas, our balcony had 2 chairs that were literally placed sideways to fit. Breakfast was served in a grand room with a decent selection. The private beach part was great. We had a cabana/lounge area right by the water. Service at the cabana was meh- that would be the only negative. Great area to relax for a few days.

Probably the best hotel on the coast. Wonderful breakfasts, great rooms, pillows and beds. Gorgeous view from the old building. Incredibly friendly, helpful, acknowledged and courteous staff. The beach and pool area are clean, comfortable and well taken care of. The bar is hosting an incredible craftsmanship in cocktails creation, tailored to your desires. Adore their spa. *Gym could be improved with variety and weights selection. Hosting different interesting events from time to time.

This was our first time staying at a Kempinski hotel and we absolutely loved it! Our room was beautifully designed with a stunning view. The location couldn’t be better, right across from the beach, with private sunbeds that made relaxing effortless. The breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of delicious options, and the overall atmosphere throughout the hotel was elegant and welcoming. Honestly, we tried to think of something we didn’t like… and we couldn’t. Everything was just right. Highly recommended. We’ll definitely return!

We booked two rooms at this lovely property and stayed for four nights in August 2025. iMaps takes you to the front of the building, but it's easy to find the entrance by taking two left turns to the back. The rooms were spacious with stunning views of the coast. We dined at the hotel on two of the nights, in different restaurants. There is a good choice of food, though we think the lobster main course in the Sofia restaurant is far too small and we're unable to order sides to embellish it. The wine lists is excellent and there are some superb local Slovenian wines to explore. We enjoyed dining in the marina nearby in local fish restaurants where a fantastic variety of seafood is available. Drinks in the hotel bar - in the bar itself, on its pretty terrace and on the lawn under - were lovely and service was slick. There is plenty of choice at breakfast in the hotel's glorious crystal ballroom. This is managed by smart and friendly Maitre D' who greets you each day. We enjoyed our daily walk to Piran each day, which took around 45 minutes on foot. Its churches are stunning and the amazing views from the castle walls of Piran are a must-see. Two issues did occur during our stay, but we were so impressed by how the management dealt with them we regard them as quite forgotten. I would recommend this hotel warmly. It provided a very happy stop during our tour from Germany to Italy.

A wonderful three-night stay! I love the combination of historical grandeur and modern comfort. A lovely spacious modern room (grand deluxe seaview) with a balcony. Wonderful breakfast area in the old ballroom and a very good breakfast. A lovely pool that extends from the indoor wellness area to the outdoor area. The hotel's beach club, with comfortable sunbeds and cabanas, is across the street. We cycled to the beautiful nearby town of Piran using the bikes provided by the hotel. A wonderful stay, thanks to all the very friendly staff!
