Kenect is the ghetto.
I've been living at Kenect for months now and by month 2, I begin to notice some major problems.
On several occasions, the water has been out in the entire building. Plumbing issues are the norm. On at least one occasion that I'm aware of the lower level floors have flooded. Constantly having no water at an apartment complex promoted as luxury is not worth it especially when the water goes out during holidays when staff members are off. I believe that there are some major flaws with piping and water pressure throughout the building.
The elevator is unreliable. When it isn't broken (a pain if you live on the upper floors), it takes FOREVER to come. It can take up to 15-20 minutes for an elevator during the morning, lunch, and evening rush so plan accordingly. Everyone complains and there are promises that things will be made right to no avail.
HVAC unit. When I moved in, my HVAC unit went out within a few days. For months, maintenance showed up, said they fixed the issue, and it would break again within the hour. I'd put in another request and maintenance would eventually come and the cycle would continue. Often times, I'm blamed for breakdowns in the building instead of solutions being found to resolve the issues quickly.
I requested that an HVAC repair tech come out to analyze the problem. It took some convincing and a lot of back and forth but eventually I was able to advocate for a tech to come out. The back and forth was an inconvenience and the temperature in my apartment easily reached 95+ during the summer.
The HVAC repair tech stated that the entire unit needed to be replaced because there were holes in the back of it. Needless to say, I spent the first few months in my apartment with no properly functioning heating and air, elevator issues, plumbing issues, tv not working properly, etc.
The time that it has taken to fix these ongoing issues, I'll never get back. The suffering that I've experienced living in the conditions are not luxury.
Things consistently break down in the building and in my apartment. When I first made staff aware of the HVAC problems, I was told that if I kept my blinds closed it wouldn't be so hot in my apartment.
Kenect is promoted as a luxury apartment in a great location but really it's just the ghetto with pretty furniture. If you are considering moving to Kenect or purchasing a membership to the co-working space, reconsider because it's not worth the inconvenience.
SN: Most of the positive reviews are false. It seems that a lot of effort is being made to boost the rating on google but not to fix the actual problems in the building.
The best way to make these problems right with residents is through rent concessions. If the problems are made right, I'll update my review at a later date with how it has been addressed or made right. As of now, most concerns about issues is met with aggression by the admins in the leasing the office.
