The food is delicious, we ate here while visiting our daughter, we didn’t pay attention to the sign and returned on Saturday, they’re closed, we went back for lunch Monday. Will definitely return when we visit your city again. Great variety. The staff is very nice. Not overly expensive. If you looking for a home cooked meal, I definitely recommend!

Google
This is a true hidden gem, offering authentic Southern cuisine that delights the palate. The menu features American and Southern classics such as biscuits and sausage, collard greens, barbecue pork ribs, and grilled or fried tilapia. The food is freshly prepared, not commercialized or microwaved, ensuring a genuine home-cooked experience. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food offered. The owner, Kenley, is super kind. His dedication to his customers, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to those seeking a genuine taste of Southern hospitality and cuisine.

The butter croissant has absolutely no butter on it and it tastes like paper. If you make eye contact with the butter croissant it crumbles apart into powder. The salmon croissant in the picture below... nevermind. The toast is more like a Nerf football than food. The cheese omelette didn't actually have cheese on it but it has some yellow nasty ooze inside it. The hash browns looked and tasted like something that was pre-packaged and pre-frozen about a year ago. Everything was cold when I received it from DoorDash and they were very quick... The food was not even lukewarm just plain cold and it's warm outside today.

Normally this place is my favorite. Unfortunately Mr. Kinley wasn't in & the food was not up to par. Lady taking my order repeated key components of my order back to me, but when the meal came she said i didn't tell her that.Wanted to surprise my husband with a hidden jewl & was totally disappointed. Money was waisted today.

Google
Good home cooked food. Lawd yes! Everything I’ve tried from Kenley’s taste like somebody’s fussing, loving crazy Auntie cooked it. The place is small and unassuming so anyone would feel comfortable there. I can go on all day but my advice is just try it. Today I went with salmon, Mac and cheese, collards, dressing and cranberry sauce. The salmon was a tiny bit dry but still good. Everything else was BANGIN!

Google
The people here are so nice and the food is great!! The prices are super fair and they offer a student discount.

Google
The food that you want & need is at Kenley Wallers Sandwich & Catering shop. Oh my God! I got everything. Fried & Lemon pepper chicken wings, Yams, Collards, Lima beans, dressing w cranberry sauce. Thanksgiving dinner orders were already sold out. Tucked away in a building near corners of Auburn, 75 Piedmont & Heaven you can"t miss it. And yes food Angels including Kenley Waller himself were there preparing the food. It was all Super delicious as I dreamed it would be!

Google
I used Kenley's for a brunch in my home in March. The food was great, set up quick, and they delivered on time. Will definitely use them again!

Yelp
I'm so glad I was introduced to this spot because it's so rich in history. I stopped by this place for breakfast after a coworker of mine suggested we go here. I had heard that the food was good so of course I had to find out myself. What caught my eye first was all the photos on the wall. There is a photo of the owner with celebrities covering the entire wall. I couldn't tell you how far the photos dated back but it just lets you know he's been running this business for a long time. Since it was breakfast I decided to keep it light and I ordered the chicken patty sandwich combo which is basically a chicken biscuit, hash brown and a drink ($3.50). For $3.50 you can't pass this up. Everything was made fresh or had been heated all morning so once I got my food it was hot. With your choice of a fountain drink this combo is super inexpensive but it fills you up without a doubt. If you're ever in the Ga State area specifically on Piedmont, please check them out.

Yelp
Kenley's catering is the best. I ordered food to serve for my Neighbor:s family after attending visitation of a loved one who passed away. Order was for 25 people. Mr Kenley delivered and set up the food on time and food was warm and ready to serve. Very professional presentation and food was delicious!

Yelp
I thought about posting twice so I could give them the 10-stars they are worth. Amazing simple cooked food. This is not commercialized, microwaved, and tossed on a plate. This is out of the vat, off the grill, and in the box type food. Simple and delicious. While here, look at the pictures and walk down memory lane. The people here are very friendly and connecting well with customers. This is true food, true people, true southern cooked love in the food for the customers. If you are in the ATL area, make a plan and swing through. If you are living in ATL area, I understand they cater, so hit them up. Any case, definitely a come to and come back place!

Yelp
The only positive thing that I can say about this catering experience was that the woman who eventually delivered the food was very professional, helpful, and kind. The owner however, should be ashamed of himself. We placed an order that was over $300 for a surprise breakfast for a member of our staff. It was supposed to be delivered at 830am. My assistant called that morning to ensure that her delivery order was on track, and they assured her that it was. At 850 we called again and once we were able to get a person and not a voicemail, the owner said he thought it was a pickup order and that it was on its way. Annoying, but no problem. Mistakes happen. I called again 20 minutes later. He assured me that the food would be hot and it was on its way. It turns out that the driver got lost and went to the wrong location after inadvertently putting the incorrect address in the gps. The food eventually arrived over an hour late. The staff member who the surprise was a for arrived before that because we couldn't stall her anymore. The food was not cold, but it was DEFINITELY not hot. The owner sent a text offering a 10% discount on a future order. Unacceptable. I called to speak with him about it and I am still disgusted about how completely unprofessional he was. He first tried to blame Uber Eats, until realizing that he had me confused with another client. (Which he would have known if he wouldn't have cut me off while I was attempting to speak.) He was rude and disrespectful throughout and flat out said I was lying about the temperature of the food because it was on heaters. I asked him to show the same respect to me as I was showing him, but he then started yelling and asking me what I wanted. At that point, I told him to forget it and we will just consider it a learning experience. It does not matter how good your food is if you cannot show more grace and understanding for your customers that what that man exhibited today. Particularly when WE DID NOTHING WRONG. I have NEVER been spoken to that way by any business owner. I highly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs. Unbelievable.

Yelp
I ordered BBQ Chicken and it was sooooo spicy most guest couldn't eat it. The mac and cheese tasted like it was bought frozen, put in a deep pan, and cheese was added on top. The dressing tasted like it came straight from a box brand. The peach cobbler was a complete fail. The cabbage was great!

Yelp
The meatloaf is the best I've ever had!! All the sides were seasoned to perfection! And the staff were super friendly!

Mike P.

Yelp
I would consider me and my co-workers regulars at this establishment. We went in for lunch ordered placed our orders. The issue came with the new cashier. I never felt so disrespected while checking out. While checking out my co-worker, asked for more salt. He was told by the cashier that it was some in the utensil packet and if you want more go to one of the tables and do it yourself. Then when i checked out with my combo order she totaled the order everything separately making the total like $3 more. I told her it was a combo and she told me to go talk to the manager. I went to go talk to the manager. When we came back i guess she realized the mistake before the manager came and changed it to the price to what it was suppose to be. She then said I don't know what he is talking about i even gave him the 10% discount. Tried to make me look stupid. Then went I asked for some ketchup she told me to go fill up some myself when they clearly had ketchup packets. I don't know if it was the end of her shift and ready to leave but she have to be more professional.

Yelp
This food is delicious and affordable!!!!! Their breakfast is my favorite!!!! Buttery pancakes and delicious grits and sausage!

Yelp
They get 5 stars strictly for service. Came in here one day last week, for the first time, with a coworker. She introduced me to the ladies there and they make sure to call my name and are super friendly each time I've been there since. (Every day) I stop in for a Coke Zero every day and maybe a sausage for breakfast. They have every tons of options for breakfast from grits and eggs to hash and pancakes. The lunch food looks good and down home. I've had the baked wings and they were good. My co worker swears by their cheese grits. Can't wait to try everything!

Yelp
Awww! Y'all, this place is adorable. Stumbled upon its existence thanks to a Groupon deal; realized it was right just about a mile from the office. So for lunch today, walked on over and joined a friend here. It's so sweet. And the people here are so nice! First: it's in a Georgia State University building - the old Citizens Trust Building - at the corner of John Wesley Dobbs & Piedmont Ave. I just mention this because it's easy to miss otherwise; you have to go into the building first and the cafe's off the lobby (it does not direct street entrance). Entrance to the lobby is on Piedmont Rd. Today there was a sign out front which made it a heckovalot easier to find too. ;-) Second: I went at lunch, so that's what this is about. [I hear they have lovely breakfast too!] Cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, hot meats + sides (think "meat & 3") are the name of the game here. Plus all sorts of canned and bottled beverages, homemade punch and lemonade and sweet desserts. I had the Philly cheese steak, mashed potatoes (instead of fries) and an extra side of mac-n-cheese. The cheese steak was wonderful. My friend got the club (which was huge) with the same potatoes and corn. Corn and mashed potatoes were standard kind of cafeteria fare - nothing bad, but nothing to write home about. I'd go ahead and give them a pass next time. That mac-n-cheese though? I could have ate two helpings. But, seriously, the people are so nice and sweet. They must've known we were newbies (especially with our Groupon offer) but they didn't act all snooty or anything like some places do when you come in for the first time using those sorts of things. [y'all know what I'm talking about!] For that alone, I'd be back. Maybe to try that breakfast next time. FYI: There are also a bunch of snacks and stuff you can purchase here - bags of chips, bottles of sodas, etc. So if you're just walking around and looking for something like that, you can come grab something and pay for it at the cashier counter instead of going to the food counter.

Yelp
So, I come here frequently. Mostly in the morning on my way into work. It's nestled on Ga. States campus behind slice. There is limited free parking, if you go left when pulling into the drive way. I got fried chicken, which is always good. The often have fried pork chops which are always good. I got cornbread dressing today, which I pulverized. The cabbage is great with hot sauce. I've had their hot wing which are good too. They have red punch that I find myself needing. Everything is pleasant. Melissa at the register is Awesome. She's sweet and full of personality. This is my go to place for soul food. Prices are affordable. I've been a different times through out the day and they've never been overwhelmed.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
This place is very good and inexpensive! They have many options to choose from. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries (basic, I know haha) but it was really good! Many people were ordering wings, so I assume that the wings are also really good! Also, the service is excellent! Everyone here is so nice and willing to help you with your order. It was my first time eating here and I will definitely be back again.

Yelp
I had breakfast at the famous Kenley's in Atlanta, GA. The aroma of good southern food grabs you from around the corner, so I knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant is a small unpretentious place and the food is Big on flavor! My order was simple, bacon, eggs, & of course grits. There was plenty more to choose from but I'll get more when I go back. Yes I'm going back! There are photos on the wall of everyone who's been there from Luther Vandross to Ludacris. And then Mr. Kenley steps out and took my order, yesssss. I mean he's a celebrity in the A! The staff was busy getting orders to us quickly but they greeted most of the folks by name. That was really cool and says a lot about them. I am looking forward to my next visit. If you're in town make sure to stop by.

Yelp
The best spot for soul food at GSU or exploring downtown. Caring staff who make you feel at home! Large menu with something for every mood and a good selection of snacks if you don't want a full meal. Always hits different

Yelp
I'm definitely a partial regular at Kenley's. I think they have good hearty food for reasonable prices. There are good choices, so anyone can find something they'll like. I've never had a chance to try out their breakfast, but I heard it was good.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
Delicious and affordable food downtown. There are not too many places downtown where you can get authentic soul food. Kenley's is a throwback to an rapidly fading past in Atlanta's history.
google avatar

Josette A.

Yelp
The food is horrible, I'm reading the previous reviews and I had to do a double take. Atlanta is becoming notorious for opening a can of collards and turnips heating it up and serving it as soul food, home cooking. Let me correct you that's gross and can never be considered soul food this is canned food extravaganza. Stop it! It's not cool, it's not delicious and it's not tasty. Kenley's is canned food extravaganza the food is gross. Okay, if you are starving, drunk, high, and it's the only thing open your state of highness may render this eatery good food, but it's only because your so high and hungry. Kenley's is the fugly girl you met in the dark club after too many drinks took her home had fun with just to wake up and realize you messed up. I ate here once. The fried chicken was under cooked it was brown enough but was rubbery. The turnip greens and collards were over cooked yes they were canned and seemed as if they were from the days before. The greens both collard and turnip just lie there over saturated with salty water no meat to be seen. the green beans were not soul food friendly just another can of opened green beans. Blah if I attended GSU I would petition for them to be removed for better options. Soul food makes you speak in tongues, because it's poppin with flavor that complements the natural flavors from the food. Soul food entertains your eyes with all the vibrant colors chicken beautifully browned, greens a healthy olive color with pops of seasoning meat, the sweet potatoes glistening and popping out the pan all beautiful and orange. The smell arrest your body soul and mind and won't release you until you've over stuffed yourself. Then you come back to your senses and wobble away from the table. This is not that place. I have yet to find that place in Atlanta. The closest you will come to this in Atlanta is Busy Bee's. After eating at Kenley's it truly made me want to open my own soul food restaurant.

Yelp
Was in town for a couple of days and ate breakfast here twice in a row. Beautiful people, hospitality and damn fine grits, sausages and eggs. Only disappointment was that they weren't open Saturday!
google avatar

Justin K.

Yelp
Good food - great atmosphere. Rolled out the red carpet and made us out of towners feel like we were at home.

Jade K.

Yelp
some menu items are salty but the combos are hard to beat. try the fried stuff like nuggets or shrimp, it's bomb. the people here make me feel so loved everytime, i love them sm

Yelp
Food is awesome! Found thru groupon Prices are cheap Many choices Parking is paid
google avatar

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Kenley's is hands down one of the beat restaurants I've been to. While maintaining absolutely DELICIOUS food it's also extremely cheap. As a student at Georgia State, Kenley's is a legend on campus and for good reason.
google avatar

Africa H.

Yelp
I love Kenley's, the atmosphere and the food is great. I had a burger here and it's just how I like handmade patty and juicy. I come here often because I'm on campus and the food is great

Yelp
Hands down the best breakfast I have ever had. I could eat the breakfast bowl every day for every meal and be content.

LaShonda H.

Yelp
I love Kenley's. I frequented this place many a day while I was a graduate assistant in the citizens trust bank building. The food is a decent price and it is soooo good. The baked chicken is falling off the bone good. The macaroni is always good. You can tell it's been baked and it's not out of the box. They offer a variety of items even a dollar menu if I'm not mistaken. I always get the baked chicken, fried chicken, philly chicken, or chicken strips. The tea mixed with lemonade is the bomb! Try it! It's a Black owned family establishment so I love to support. Mr. Kenley can often be seen working behind the counter and he greets everyone with a smile. I know the employees here so we chop it up every time I come in. The pictures on the wall of Mr. Kenley and all of the celebrities that I'm assuming have either come to Kenley's or he catered food for them is astonishing. I no longer work in the building but I still drive over when I want some good southern style food.
google avatar

Chanelle C.

Yelp
I come here all the time since my dorm is right next door. The lady that works as a cashier is super friendly although i never catch her name! I love the environment gives it a very eclectic homey type feel makes it feel like its a little secret. Its been open for a long time & with good reason, the food here is amazing!! must eat!
google avatar

Yelp
The first thing you'll notice about Kenley's, other than the small size, are the photos covering virtually every square inch of the walls. Actors, musicians, politicians, it runs the entire spectrum of fame, with one common denominator among them all, an incredibly happy Mr. Kenley Waller. His joy radiates through every one of those pictures and you can't help but smile back at the unfiltered happiness. The second thing to grab your attention is the steaming "hot bar" filled with Soul food. There's a good selection to choose from with everything looking very delicious. I suffered from decision paralysis, so I went the safe route and ordered a fried chicken sandwich. For being a "safe" choice is was damn good. They served it simply with lettuce, tomato and pickles, not drowned in condiments like some places. What I loved about the sandwich was the crispy, flavorful breading with a touch of spice to it. Crinkle cut fries were crispy as well and not too salty. Overall I liked this place. It's packed with more atmosphere than other small cafeteria style joints and offers home cooked favorites. Next time I'm diving into that hot bar.
google avatar

Nemil S.

Yelp
Kenleys is your classic family owned, made with love, soul food restaurant, that I randomly stumbled upon and better for it. The menu is a little confusing and the decor takes a second to take in, but the place has great food! The turkey burger, mac n cheese, and greens are all good. My personal favorite is the yummmmy delicious ~$2 fish sandwich which they serve during lunch. Make sure to add the hot sauce to it before leaving!!
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Would probably count this review as more of a 3.5 stars, if I could. Kenley's is an interesting little joint on the first floor of the Citizen's Trust Building. The first thing that struck me was all the framed pictures of who I assume is Mr. Kenley from previous Yelp reviews, with tons of different celebrities. They practically covered all the walls. In the back behind the glass is a variety of dishes that you can pick and choose from, such as pulled bbq, green beans, cornbread dressing, mac n cheese, etc. There is also a super super cheap menu of 1.50 items. I ordered the fish sandwich and a turkey corndog, each for 1.50. It took longer than I expected to receive my food. The fish sandwich wasn't bad, but it also tasted a bit over-fried and could have used more tartar sauce. The corndog was a corndog. I think I leaned toward giving an extra half star just because the food was so cheap and because the lady operating the cash register was so sweet, but I don't think I can round up to 4 because the food was A-OK.
google avatar

Montrice W.

Yelp
First time getting breakfast- and it was AMAZING.Eventhough I called in 3 egg and cheese sandwiches on wheat and the lady gave me 1 sandwich with 3 eggs and cheese on wheat, they made up for the mishap with exceptional customer service and the greatest (less than $2) breakfast sandwiches on this side of the GA DOME. Yes LAWWWD.
google avatar

Kay T.

Yelp
Great fast food. They are nice and make sure your order is correct before giving it to you. I had a PO boy, without the bread more like a salad and it was great. I tried because of Groupon, I came back because they treated me so well.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
They have a 2 piece whiting and grits or potato breakfast that is awesome and its 3.99! Can't beat that.
google avatar

Ali O.

Yelp
The actual restaurant was a little hard to find from the street, it's inside the office building. Im from NY and it looked like a new York style dirty deli, but the food was beyond amazing. We had buffalo wings and fried chicken with a buiscuit and french fries. It was all so good! We wish we found it sooner in our vacation, we would have gone a few more times! Friendly workers, i also had a Groupon for my purchase. Their prices are very cheap for the city and the quality of food! Loved it! :)

Charnece H.

Yelp
Went yesterday to get food with my daughter who turned 15. We were looking for a good Philly Cheese Steak and we found it. Food was great and I would order again.
google avatar

Mandy O.

Yelp
I haven't eaten here lately, but the staff is friendly and they have great food! Their wings and Macncheese are to die for! They catered a late night breakfast finals event to GSU a couple years ago and I was hooked!

Michael T.

Yelp
Nice soul food spot in downtown. It's a little hidden inside a larger building, but worth the search for flavorful chicken and cornbread. Definitely good lunch for the price.
google avatar

Keena C.

Yelp
No one ever answers the phone drove to the building on a Sunday and the building is very hard to find. Need better signs and someone to answer the phones. You're losing business.
google avatar

Heather J.

Yelp
Excellent southern food. The people who work there were so friendly and nice. We felt as if we were visiting old friends. My husband and father-in-law had breakfast and my mother-in-law and I had lunch. We loved every bit of our food. We used a Groupon coupon but you don't even need to because the prices are excellent. We will definitely visit again.
google avatar

Claude L.

Yelp
I just stopped by today after getting rerouted on a lunchtime walk. Im very glad I did. The place is a bit small, but they move people in and out very quickly and give good service. I was pretty impressed with the fish and greens, but the peach cobbler will make you wanna slap somebody. I would get a lawyer before you try it...its that good.
google avatar

Nikki P.

Yelp
Kenley's is absolutely fabulous and each time he has gone above and beyond what was expected and the food is GREAT!!!

Diana C.

Yelp
Kenley's is a quaint place located inside Citizens Trust Bank Building. I'm a huge fan of their mac & cheese, jambalaya, and baked chicken. Peach cobbler, hot wings, and good ol' Southern sides are some examples of the yummy food that is served here. Every inch of the walls are covered with framed photographs of celebrities who came to Kenley's, such as John Legend and Pink. With all these celebrities' visits to Kenley's, you know it must be a big deal. 2 sides, sweet tea / lemonade & an entree costs around $7.00. This place gets crowded very fast during lunch hour. Get there early before the favorites (i.e. biscuits, mac & cheese) disappear quick.

Yelp
We love Kenley's Restarant........Fried Fish, Pork and the Chicken we love it all Dawn
