The Best Dishes Eater LA Editors Ate This Year, Mapped

"Calling something the best of any genre is a big claim, but I stand by my choice in naming Open Market’s Kenmore sandwich the best in Los Angeles. It’s a tuna sandwich unlike any other, imbuing the tuna salad with the flavor of gimbap, and sandwiching them between soft brioche reminiscent of slices of challah a Jewish deli would serve its sandwiches on. There must be at least a full inch of tuna between each plush slice of bread, dotted with seaweed and radish making it almost look like a pointillist painting from the right angle. The perilla on top is an unexpected addition but brings a green, earthy flavor, while a thick slice of cheese is the right type of fatty contrast. — Rebecca Roland, editor" - Eater Staff

This Kenmore farmer's market is new to me. The atmosphere is good. A good place to get your vegetables and fruits. You can also find treats and unique items to try. I love the lemonade.

Google
Great market. Local rules are applied where all vendors are local, and using local ingredients and local fruits and vegetables, I'm a vendor there myself under (the village greens of Buffalo-Niagara) but there are so many great vendors like M&M pickles and Najah shop and many other great local vendors. You should definitely check it out.

Google
Such a cute little market. Loved the live music and tree-shaded area. There are a lot of non-produce vendors here, so if you want an abundance of produce options - check out the NT farmer's market.

Google
Very uncomfortable experience. Several vendors were not wearing masks and were not able to social distance. Was very uncomfortable and felt unsafe. On the whole, it's a cute little market. Limited variety but that's only to be expected given the space. A bit expensive, compared to other local farmers markets in the Buffalo area. Were it not the the lax mask restrictions, I would have given it a 4 or 5 star rating.

The artist had a great voice and was playing Fleetwood Mac

I like the atmosphere and being outside. The products aren't for me really but it's nice.

Great market, make sure to check out the extra virgin Greek olive oil stand. The vendors are very nice and have amazing products, i’ve been buying from them for years

Google
Not a market for farmers produce. This is more a bored mom sells stuff she makes all week while kids are school market. Lots of expensive nothing's. Other than Blue eyed Baker from east Aurora, nothing to see.

Yelp
First time here today and I was impressed with the variety and selection of vendors. Some of my favorites were there, like Najah and What's Pop-in' popcorn, but they also had a few produce stands (plants, veggies, fruit, mushrooms, micro greens, eggs), as well as prepared food (chocolate, baked goods, and breakfast). There were also dozen pierogis, vinegars, pickled items, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. If you stop by, I'd highly recommend visiting Najah. Her Somali crepe paired with her chai tea was absolutely fantastic! And I got her soup to go which was also good. I'd also recommend Nikki's Chocolates. Her almond energy balls were really good!!

Yelp
Im a little surprised I haven't already reviewed this farmers market because I come a few times each summer. They have have a somewhat rotating cast of vendors, but they have some steady ones too. I do come specifically for Moneybags dumplings because I really like them, but it's always a great opportunity to pick up some other things like mushrooms and pastries and honey and jam and fresh vegetables and fruits. Street parking.

Yelp
This is a very small market but you wouldn't know it from the variety of vendors. I was easily able to fill my grocery bag with locally grown produce, picked up some roasted coffee beans, and enjoyed a sample of apple moonshine (if you're a cocktail fan, do not skip this!). There are plenty of baked goods and ready-to-eat food in addition to the fruits, veggies, eggs, apple cider, spices, pickles, and more. I also admired some beautiful pottery and Halloween-themed potted plants. Street parking was easy to find nearby. Late summer yellowjackets are all over of course so be prepared for that. All the vendors I spoke with were very friendly and helpful. Not all vendors accept credit cards! Bring cash and re-usable shopping bags.

Yelp
Went to the Kenmore Farmers Market for the first time on the second to the last weekend for the season. There was quite a variety of local vendors. In general social distancing was observed and with the exception of a few people not having their masks covering their noses, people and vendors were wearing masks. There were uniformed Kenmore Police Officers patrolling the market. I purchased some fresh made dumplings from the Moneybags Dumplings stand, a bag of dried Oyster Mushrooms from the Flat 12 Mushrooms stand and a variety of fresh picked vegetables from the Seabert Farms stand. I am going to make it a point to go to this market again next season.

Yelp
Today was our first visit to the Kenmore Farmers Market. Our visit was initially for Moneybags Dumplings (which we loved!) But naturally we ended up coming home with more. Along with a dozen dumplings we also purchased a dehydrated bag of oyster mushrooms from Flat 12 Mushrooms and a slew of fresh veggies. I really liked this market. There were a few different vendors offering fresh produce and a variety of others with items rangng from baked goods and bourbon to dog treats and pop corn. Plus there was live music! This was suppose to be the last Sunday for the year though many vendors said they'll be there next week. If you can't check them out next week at least put them on your list for next season.

Yelp
First time at this market, variety of vendors and super excited to try the dumplings from Moneybags and learn how to make them later in month. Thanks Alex for setting this up.

Yelp
Glad I made it out to the last day of the farmer's market (though may vendors say they will be back for one more week)! Initially stopped by for the Yelp Moneybags Dumpling event but stayed to peruse the other stands. Small sized but tons of options selling fresh produce, pumpkins, wine, kettle corn, smoothies, honey, olive oil, bath products, and baked goods. Walked away with delicious dumplings and my groceries for the week! Their facebook page lists the vendors each week. Plenty of parking on Delaware Ave and side streets.

Yelp
Having a farmers market on a Sunday is a great idea. Even on this muggy overcast morning it was still a delight. It's a small space but packed with vendors. I found street parking and ventured in. Great crowd, I overheard a guy say "wow I think I've seen everyone I know here today". It seemed the place to be for the young hip families in the area to congregate. Why not they had dogs from a dog rescue, the mobile library was doing some craft or story, maybe both and there's tons of grab and eat breakfast/lunch item, beverage options and sweet treats! I have to admit, I went soley to stalk Blue-eyed Baker for their crossiant breakfast sandwich and Money bag Dumplings for those delectable purses of yum. I did get some produce too...

Yelp
What a wonderful way to spend a brisk Sunday morning but supporting small local businesses!! These small businesses happen to have amazing products so it's no sacrifice at all. I started with Moneybags Dumplings... delicious!! I got the vegan ( mushroom filling) for myself) and the chicken for the rest of the family. They were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and delicious all over. Right next to their stand there was Sugarcane WNY! All their homemade products are made with sugarcane. They even had sugar cane juice , fresh pressed with their very own machine. I was instantly transported to my childhood and days on the beach. But I also found some watermelon fruit spread!!!! I knoww!!! Not just strawberry or blueberry or all your average flavors but Watermelon!!! Can't wait to try it! I found an amazing selection of flavored vinegars. Not just regular vinegar, but peach or fig , mango, raspberry and blasmic glazes as well as tapenade ! I moved on to the date hot sauce , tamarind hot sauce and also at the same vendor the most delicious butter cookies! Perfect with a cup of tea. I wandered over to the baked cinnamon roll and chia scones amongst a variety of other flavors! There was fresh baked bread and bagels and it was selling faster than he could fill the showcase. There were fresh vegetables and pumpkins and herbal oils and tinctures. Beautifully fresh picked apples of all colors and varieties. But on my way back to my car I hit a kettle corn truck! I didn't do much damage to the bumper... Delicious sweet warm fresh kettle corn. So everyone was masked at all the stands as well as all the shoppers. The dogs were not masked, but they didn't sneeze or touch any merchandise! There are a few more farmers markets scattered around the area and if you can get to some I highly recommend going. There's just something that leaves you feeling good and you know you have done something good too by supporting your neighbors who own these amazing local businesses.

Yelp
Great event! Open longer this October than planned! Lots of yummiest available, even for the doggos! Vinegars, baked goods oils, wines, veggies, dog treats... and dumplings!

Yelp
Love the market - live music, local vendors, knitting group - really enjoying it and going to miss it once the weather turns colder! Love supporting local!

Yelp
I enjoyed the variety of stands at the market; however, I really disliked how pushy some of the vendors were. Walking by, several of the sellers would start trying to sell me their products. One vendor from K Sister Pierogi even came right up to me and overstepped my comfort zone (within 1 foot of me). This made me feel very uncomfortable. I also didn't like how she said, "If you're interested you really should get them now. They will sell out real quick." Mind you it was 9:15 am and most stands were still setting up and there wasn't much traffic. There was some good though. This is the only market that I know of that is open on Sundays. No parking lot, but it was easy to find a spot on a side street. My favorite part was that Nickel City Vice had there freezer packed with homemade ice cream sandwiches. While they are pricey at $6 a piece, they are worth the splurge. (Tip: They stay frozen solid for awhile (~1 hour) when at a mild room temp).

Yelp
This is a great little Sunday market right in the village of Kenmore. It is not the biggest by any means, but there's plenty of produce and specialty goods everywhere. They have food trucks and pop up restaurants, sometimes juices, tea, wine, beer, meat, rugs, Wood products, clothes and more. Park anywhere in Delaware or the side streets.

Yelp
This is a tiny but adorable farmers market, occurring right in the village of Kenmore every Sunday, in season. While it may be small they do seem to have a little something for everyone. You've got your veggie vendors, your fruit farmers, flower fanatics, bakeries with their cookies and cakes and confections, usually a winery with some tastings, a few crafty tables, gourmet popcorns, you know-standard market on a small scale. We recent came and scored gigantic squash and zucchini for meal prepping and enough blueberries for the whole week- for $7. You can't beat the prices and the freshness for the produce, it's unreal! Definitely worth a stop on a Sunday morning to get your started right.

Yelp
I recently moved to Kenmore from Elmwood Village and I have to say I was pretty bummed that I wasn't going to be a walkable distance from the Bidwell market anymore. It was my Saturday morning ritual but the Kenmore farmer's market has filled the void! The Kenmore market is now held on Sundays from 9-1, every week there is donation based yoga class at 9am, food truck(s), and many vendors that you would see at the larger farmer's markets. This may be a smaller market but it definitely has all that you need, you can check their Facebook page for a list of weekly vendors because they change up from time to time and are constantly adding more! Some examples of the goods they have: fresh fruits/veggies, farm fresh eggs, meats and cheeses, home made dog treats, flowers, micro greens, home made goods like jams/teas/beauty products/jewelry, pickled goods, Amish goods, bakery items etc. It is held in front of the municipal building on the corner of Delaware rd and Delaware ave (conveniently across from La Divina :) )

Yelp
I go every week and love all the vendors! I get all my veggies and fresh flowers for the week. I also buy eggs and have bought wine and soaps and other things there. It's so cheap and you get to support local farmers and business owners. They usually have live music playing and have a yoga class on the green every morning at 9am. Support the Kenmore farmers market!
