What to look for in a new fridge - Curbed

"Other brands, like Galanz, Kenmore, or Big Chill (made in Colorado) make more affordable retro compact lines that are also quite colorful." - Alissa Walker

Yelp
I'm so happy that the libraries are reopening! They're doing it slowly,, currently just doing curbside pickup and allowing for returns. Books can only be picked up at the library branch currently in possession of the book you want. This is how I ended up at the Kenmore branch. I called to order the book I wanted. They gave me a pick up time and explained the process. Once arriving at the library you'll see a set up similar to what all the restaurants are using. Once at the window, with your library card and ID, they give you your book in a bag. There were 2 people working and they were both friendly and helpful. This branch has covered parking in the back which I'm sure would be nice on rainy days. Can't wait for the doors to actually open to allow for browsing!

Yelp
I like Barbie, but Barbie likes Kenmore. Over the years there have been more and more great businesses popping up in Kenmore, however, the police are still trigger-happy and unfair and in some cases fascist, and they're everywhere, and there is definitely a mixed atmosphere in the village between accepting and friendly liberal people and extremely conservative and white power type people, and if you hang out here long enough you will have very distinct experiences with both factions of people. People don't realize what an extraordinarily right wing area Western New York is. It's very depressing. As I've said before, though - I love Kenmore! La Divina (the new authentic taco place on Delaware) gives me an extra reason to come down here, plus one of my BFFs works here, so I'm here usually once a week. It's a lovely, leafy suburb. It loses a point because the cops are really intense, and will pull you over for any given thing, especially at night. It's honestly a real nervous hassle driving through here because of all the police stops, and it's such a safe area that I feel it's overkill and unneccessary. It would be nice to see that kind of police presence in high crime areas of WNY, but there simply isn't. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of Kenmore. Other than La Divina, there's good pizza at Mustachio's and a great Salad nearby (Pie O Mine Greens). And also do not miss a burger at Vizzi's while you're up here.

Yelp
The Kenmore library is a large and spacious library with lots of places to sit and get work done, from tables and chairs to the numerous PC workstations. The building itself looks a little dated, and I would be interested in seeing if this was once a government building. It's the only library I've been to so far where the parking is like a single-story parking garage, that I presume the second story of the library is covering. You enter the library from the lower level and there is a meeting space down there and some offices but not much else. You go up a flight of stairs or take the elevator. Upstairs is everything else, there's a large kids area with play space, as well as a big section of "information" pamphlets on local services. Although the library is large, I could hear the kids slamming blocks and talking from the other side of the library, so noise carries throughout. If you don't need quiet, come here to work as I said, plenty places to sit. The library seems to have very large collections, and the bookshelves are well labeled with the call number prefixes, but not every section like cooking, travel, etc) are labeled. There's a large local history section including volumes on each town in Erie county as well as some on specific WNY Topics, such as wars, architecture, presidential history, railroads, etc. They have the largest mystery collection that I've ever seen, it takes up almost the entire back wall!!! They also have a large reference section. The magazine display could look prettier, other libraries have one of each standing up, this one has them stacked with labels beneath. Large selection of computer, travel, and exam books that are labeled. Would come back to browse as they have a ton of books here.

Yelp
Libraries are very important and helpful for the needs of the communities, meet people and help us find answers.

Yelp
I grew up in part in Kenmore, and have been going to this library since I was a kid. Back in the 80s hey-day, when kids roamed the streets of Kenmore in packs, all migrating together, all about town. Kids don't really seem to do that as much anymore (I don't let mine do that, anyway), but they do still congregate at this library. It's nice to see lots of patronage still happening here. It's a little different now from when I first started dropping in. Long gone are the huge card catalogs that used to be lined up in front of the checkout desks. And the microfiche and projector reel area is sayonara, too. But all the space has been put to good use. Things are reorganized to have play areas for kids, relaxing reading nooks, computer space, and, believe it or not, still lots of stacks of actual books. I regularly frequent a variety of branches of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System to check out books for me and my family. They are free. You can keep them for almost two months at a time, when you renew. They have lines and lines of fascinating words in them. And sometimes pictures, too. You can't lose! This Kenmore Library location is particularly great at their peppy, colorful displays and decor. There are always rotating racks of themed books and multimedia up front that a librarian clearly put thought and care into designing. I truly appreciate that effort, to help keep us all jazzed about learning. Pretty great hours at this location, and the parking is usually good. If the lot under the library is full, parking on the side of the driveway at the school across the street is okay, too. If you're not frequenting the public library system, you are missing out on a truly timeless and fabulous community resource. I just rented Wayne's World on DVD from the library. So you're missing out on that, too. And that's totally bogus, schaaa'.

Yelp
I like this library. It is not too far from my house, and there is parking. Most libraries in the Buffalo city limits do not have parking, other than on the street. There is a lot of room in this library, for sitting, for using the computers, for walking among the stacks.

Yelp
Good size library right in the heart of things. Easy parking.a big plus in that area. Inside you'll find wide aisles, tons of books and a competent and helpful staff. This library has all the usual library offerings in a nice setting.

Yelp
Not the biggest or the prettiest library in the Erie County system, but it's a got a decent fiction section, impressive movie and TV section and a manageable kid's section. Plenty of public computers (including 3 for kids). Well curated feature books section based on current events, holidays and locally relevant topics. Two public bathrooms. Copy machines. Several work tables. Decent selection of audio books and a graphic novel section. I haven't had a lot of interaction with the staff, but so far they've been pleasant and knowledgable. Covered parking makes entry and exit much easier in winter.

Yelp
The Kenmore Library has become a new library for me. There is parking!!! I tutor a 3rd grader and the children's book section is excellent as is the hands on areas that they have for children.

Yelp
I've became a fan of this library after the first time my father took my siblings and I there. It is nice and decent size. Very good for the kids too because of the different areas they can access which is a plus. I've been going to this library for quite some time and there has been a few changes. I took my son there for the first time and he enjoyed the kids area, there were books(he enjoys reading), small play area and mini computer lab. It can get a little noisy with many kids around, but still a great place to go to do research study, work, read, or just burrow items. They always have workshops available for the patrons. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They will help with any questions they can answer, or call other library for items a patron may need. Great wifi (easy to follow along log in process on the walls). Only downfall is that there isn't enough outlets or its far from the study tables. There is a parking lot and street parking. Whenever I need to go to the library I like to come here.

Yelp
Great Library. Was lucky enough to use a study room one afternoon. Easy booking process to reserve space to be able to have a small meeting/study group. Parking is also decent for the area- it's hard to find places with free dedicated parking. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
Good spot for toddlers the children's section is large, and sectioned off a bit to contain your toddlers. Also there is a corner of play kitchen and toys, and on the other corner a bunch of kid cushions/chairs.

Yelp
This is a nice, spacious library with a lot of personal resources and a great staff. However, there are times when I feel like this library is more like a Chuck E. Cheese with the number of kids running around and yelling (much to the unconcerned idleness of parents).

Yelp
Having spent the entire day working here, I feel pretty comfortably considering this as a regular future work spot when I don't want to fork over the cash required to work at a coffee shop. The library is relatively quiet with plenty of tables for working. There don't seem to be many outlets, but since my computer usually doesn't need to be charged during the day, I didn't go out of my way to try to find somewhere to sit that had an outlet. The Kenmore Branch Library does have a parking lot, but it was totally full when I got here. I didn't have any trouble finding street parking relatively close, but I imagine on the weekends it might be trickier. My primary interest was a quiet place to work, but it seems like this library has a number of practical services, like tax help, toddler hour, and several rows of public computers. The bathroom was clean, the wifi worked once I asked a staff member what I was doing wrong, and the staff was friendly. Overall, seems like just what a public library should be.
