Come on, how can't you just love this place. The absolute best team of young adults with smiles ear to ear and the most amazing flavors to choose from. Their chocolate peanut butter is simply Heaven and don't get me started on their peanut butter Oreo frappes, inhaled it. If you haven't made it here it's a must. Also vs. I won't mention the name, another ice cream hot spot in Reading, Kennedy's kiddie side is what a small would be vs a dollop of ice cream so very generous with their scoops!! 🤣😱😜❤️

My friend and I happen to go here and it was delicious! I think they were out of a few things but we both really enjoyed the ice cream and there was spots to sit outside and eat while we caught up. I would definitely go again.

Stopped by Kennedy’s Ice Cream Bar after finishing lunch at Liberty Bell. The gentleman I spoke with, John, I assume is the owner. I ordered a coffee and chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious. Their selection of ice cream is plentiful. I highly recommend stopping by if you like to support small businesses. We will be back to try the ice cream and upload pictures of what we order.

Delicious cake but the decorating leaves some room to be desired... They gave us a $6 discount but I'm not sure that totally accounts for the quality, see picture ;-) We love Kennedy's for their ice cream but maybe skip the cakes ;-)

This place is wonderful! Huge variety of sundaes soft serve milkshakes! I had the espresso sundae and it was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of the flavors. We will be back !

For almost $6 you get 3 small scoops of slush. You’re better off going to Socs. I told the girl this large cup isn’t even filed and you’re charging me almost $6 for this? The young girl laughed then proceeded to laugh about it with the other girls as well. I mean….. If you didn’t want to scoop slush you should’ve just said that. I would’ve gladly taken my money elsewhere. Not sure why I can’t post a picture or video.

Just stopped by with my boyfriend not too long ago today (: It was our first time at Kennedy's and we were both pleasantly surprised at how yummy and rich the ice cream tastes! We can definitely see why this place is always jam packed on a weekend night. Definitely will be a monthly (maybe even weekly) spot for us <3 Also the lady with blonde hair that helped us was so sweet, I'm sad I didn't catch her name to include here!

Expensive for the quality and quantity. A regular soft serve with tax is $7. Try a frappe for a little more. Get better and less expensive ice cream at the adjacent Whole Foods

I returned here just the other day. Much better! I got an ice cream soda that was a work of art. Much better flavor than the first time. Service was impeccable.

Every time I come by here I see employees handling money and making ice cream. Not changing their gloves. That is gross. I don't know how they can get away with it.

I used to make several orders here a week, especially their acai bowls. This place is very close to my house and I've been a customer in person and also via delivery. (This is kind of embarrassing, but I've definitely eaten like 40+ acai bowls from here lol) One day, the Uber Eats driver accidentally delivered my order to the wrong address in another town. Mistakes happen, and I just told him it was okay and that I'd tell Uber so I could get a refund. I have no idea what the hell happened, but I got a phone call from a cell number I didn't recognize. They left a loud, awful voicemail yelling at me. I couldn't even listen to the whole thing because it was so abusive, but I think it was at least a minute and thirty seconds long. They said they were the owner of Kennedy's and seemed to think I was lying to Uber that they didn't make my bowl and that I was blaming the restaurant personally. I never did this. Uber was informed it was food accidentally delivered to a house in another town. I'm not sure what miscommunication happened, but it wasn't my fault. If you have any anxiety disorders or PTSD from harassment, or simply don't enjoy being yelled at and accused of what basically amounts to theft (lol), I wouldn't recommend doing any kind of online ordering with this ice cream place in case a mistake happens. This happened a few months ago, but now that it's getting warm out again, I'm really missing their bowls. It's unfortunate that the experience I had was so off-putting that I had to give up my favorite dessert (they made my favorite acai bowls in the area! Other places aren't as good). Other reviews on here are mentioning the owners openly treating the employees poorly and yelling at them, and I'm really disappointed to hear that. However, it's not surprising.

I was just there and ordered a dairy and gluten free coffee ice cream. 15 minutes later my stomach blew up I have pain in my stomach. I just called and they want me to call the company where they get it. Also it comes in a kiddie size. The sign on the wall shows $5.35. But I was charged $7.35. When I asked why that price the girl told me that they don't go by that. The ice cream was horrible and had absorbed no taste

Very bad service very bad rude to its customers very un knowledgeable unheard of Expensive Pricing and blames its customers for having to drive quote all the way into Boston to get our Fro Mo !! Stay away at all costs

Unfortunately our visit to Kennedy's left much to be desired. Firstly the service was unorganized, which did not make for a good first impression. They had a few customers, but were not very busy. A total of four people either took our order, asked us again what our order was, made our order, or checked us out. After all of that one of our items had the wrong ice cream flavor. The disfunction was very apparent and will certainly prevent us from returning in the future.

We've been to Kennedy's three times now (once in the before times and twice since) and it's awesome. When I was pregnant, food was one of my few joys. When I went two days past my due date I desperately needed a brownie sundae in February. Kennedy's came through! My sundae was perfect. Everyone there is so friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. And to top it all off, I went into labor that evening For our second visit, we let our toddler eat ice cream in her car seat. Never again ‍ Now we're able to enjoy using the walk up window and sitting at one of the three tables.

This place is pretty good. Prices are pretty High for an ice cream shop though. The regular ice cream is great but the soft serves is not. I've also had an issue with the service. I have ordered ice cream here and got stiff not near what I ordered. It was my order as we spoke face to face but they weren't listening. Kind of annoying when you pay that much for an ice crash. Basically ordered a chocolate in a sugar cone and got soft serve in a cup with a wafer cone on it. Whatever. But like I said. The soft serve is not that good so I was bummed out.

FYI - In the winter they are only open Thursday through Sunday. Yelp hours don't reflect that.

Kennedy's is great, we have ordered from them since they opened. Just be careful when ordering over Uber Eats. They don't give certain options on the app and when the store calls you for clarity the kids on the other end of the phone don't know what they're asking you for and cause confusion. If you're ordering over a delivery app do yourself a favor and keep it simple or you'll get another confused/rude follow up call.

The ice cream is simply great. I have been there 5+ times and each time I try a new flavor. Each and each flavor is great. Ice cream is fresh, service is good. A secret the ice cream sandwiches in the case on the left. They are a smidge expensive but ever so well worth it if you like ice cream sandwiches. Kudos to Kennedy's for a great ice cream store.

Always curious why there are no gelato or ice cream shops on Main Street? Finally, Kennedy's moved into the former Honey Dew Spot. A kiddie size is more than enough for kid or adult. Many flavors to choose from, 95 cents for additional toppings. seating is limited but I did see three picnic table outside. Did you see the ice cream sandwiches inside the fridge? How about espresso with ice cream? I would definitely bring the family back to try more flavors. Staff are nice and I was given two samples before I settled with Boston Blowout (who doesn't like brownie chunks in their ice cream?). Bring your friends for the big john challenge (ten scoops of ice cream with toppings!)

I have gone to many ice cream shops in the area. I have an ice cream page and review all ice cream in Boston and this is by far one of the best flavors I've ever had. The graham cracker base is the perfect amount of rich and creamy with marshmallows and chocolate bits throughout. The Mixins are in every single bite it is just perfect. I found it last week and I have gone three times already with my friends and family and everyone loves it!

I am giving two stars because the experience wasn't the greatest. We ordered two small size ice creams, we believe we were given two large ice creams because it shouldn't cost $14.50 for two ice creams. Maybe it was pricey because we got the vegan ice creams. The taste was decent.

I've been several times to Kennedy's. The owners and staff are very nice. The ice cream flavors and toppings are numerous. I usually go with something chocolate and peanut butter. But I also loved the lemon meringue pie flavor. They didn't have it last week when I went, so they recommended lemon raspberry short cake. Heaven! Can't wait to go back.

I can't say enough about Kennedy's. We have frequented here many times since opening but tonight was truly a game changer and if I wasn't a customer for life before, I certainly am now. We ordered Uber eats delivery from them and was disappointed to see that an item (one of their famous stackables) was missing from the order. Before requesting a refund through Uber, I called them to see if I could possibly go pick up the missing item. The owner would not allow us to come pick up and insisted that she would personally deliver the item to our house the next town over. I have never experienced such incredible customer service. I will recommend Kennedy's to anyone and everyone I can. Thank you again for making this under-the-weather girl extraordinarily happy. You guys are the best!

The service is slow, they only have 2 people one on Mobile orders and one for the store. Waited over 1/2 hour for service. Also the price on the board is less then when I paid. The banana boat on the board it said 8.50 and was charged 9.50. Girl that took my order was quick as she can be and very nice.

YUM! Nice new addition to melrose! Friendly staff and WARM genuine vibes. Loved the moose tracks icecream with hot fudge, no frills! Goodbye summer body.

It's pretty good! Nice selection of flavors and a great addition to Melrose :) Had the rum raisin ice cream and appreciated the actual raisins in it. Also tried the cinnamon roll and will likely get that next time.

SO GOOD. We can't stop coming back. The chocolate dips are delicious. Order the small sizes - the portions are quite big. They even have ice cream for pups if you ask for it!! We were so happy to find a place with yummy non-dairy options.

Ok, I will admit I was WRONG! I think this place is still a little pricey, but it is worth it. Best ice cream shop around. Check out their ice cream pies! The stackable are amazing. Im a Kennedy's convert!

Added wonderful dairy free/vegan ice cream and they've got vegan topping options too!! I feel seen. :))) Keep the vegan options coming! The Dark chocolate Belgian chocolate dip is vegan, which goes excellently with the dairy free raspberry sorbet or any of the dairy free ice cream options (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, oreo). thank you Kennedy's!!!

What a wonderful establishment! I have been wanting to stop by here for months and I finally was able to and just loved it. Great customer service and interesting and delicious ice cream flavors - I am looking forward to coming back.

It is amazing in here! So many choices and it was great! Portions are Huge so I put mine in the freezer and lasted well!

I am a huge fan of Kennedy's ... but tonight is a different story ! After waiting at the opened take out window for 20 minutes whit no acknowledgment that they'd be right with me although they looked at me more than once taking every customer that enter the store although I had been standing long before they came in I decided to leave . I went home kids were upset because no ice cream so I ordered from pickup go back there to no ice cream ready and had to wait Another 15 minutes. No a happy customer

Stopped here for ice cream tonight and we were very impressed! They have ice cream, soft serve, cookies, and even cookie sandwiches with ice cream. Great service and very tasty! They're even open all winter.

I live next door to Kennedy's. The place is awesome there are so many delicious flavors to try. They also have peanut free, plant based, and sugar free alternatives. The lines can get large at times but its worth the wait. Lisa and John are very professional and friendly and will always go above and beyond to please their customers.

We stumbled upon Kennedy's Friday night after dinner and decided to give it a try! The store was extremely clean and the employees were extremely welcoming. The best part was the absolutely delicious ice cream!! I ordered a chocolate chip cone, my daughter tried something new to her, a mocha chip and my husband had maple walnut. We all thought it was the best around!! WE will be back to Kennedy's and really enjoyed their great customer service!!!

John and his sister are extremely passive aggressive to their young workers. All they care about is money. If something such as spoons or cups drop they just tell the workers to wash it and put it back. They also did not train their workers on proper hand washing skills. I have seen workers use rags and Clorox wipes to wipe the counter and then continue scooping ice cream. Sure the ice cream is great, but the management is terrible.

As someone who is always eating ice cream, i was excited about an ice cream shop opening that was selling a different brand of ice cream. But I personally find the menu at this shop to be a little confusing to understand. i don't understand the price break down and why it is written the way it is on the menu. I frequent many ice cream places and have never seen a menu written like it is here. it is also very hard to see because it is high up and written in weird chalk colors. they did have paper menu's that you could grab and look at. I also find the pricing to be on the expensive side compared to other places i frequent. The small hard serve was over 5$ with no toppings or dips. Not sure if this is because of the location, or if the ice cream brand they sell is expensive, or just based on the amounts in each size. the small was a lot of ice cream that i couldn't finish (realistically it should probably be considered a medium). I can't imagine what the kiddie size looked like or if a child would even be able to finish it either, which i personally think defeats the purpose of a "kiddie size" ice cream. I feel as though they could have had the amounts and sizing portioned differently. The staff here is good. The ice cream flavor i chose, "the pink unicorn", was good and they did have interesting flavors on the menu. But based on reasons stated above, i personally do not find this place to be worth frequenting over other shops in the area (that sell homemade ice cream or richardsons) with better pricing and ice cream that is just as good.

i've never had a bad experience here ever they have the most reasonable priced milk shakes and the flavors are very diverse. (and i'm a picky eater even when it comes to ice cream flavors) i 10/10 would recommend
