Basically everything here clocks in between $10 and $15, even the “large” size bowls which are more than enough for the average diner. Authentic and Delicious! I really like the food at Kenny’s Noodle House. The congee is comforting and flavorful, especially the salted pork with preserved egg—one of the best I’ve had. The wonton noodle soup is also excellent—fresh, tasty, and satisfying. This place feels like a true hidden gem. The environment is cozy and reminds me of a classic Cantonese eatery. Service is fast, and prices are reasonable. Definitely one of my favorite spots for authentic Chinese comfort food in Portland!

I come here for the steamed pork liver, not the charm! I’ve been coming here on and off since 2016, mostly for one reason: the steamed pork liver. I haven’t written a review until now because honestly, I don’t think they care either way, and that’s kind of the vibe: take it or leave it. They’ve been around long enough to know their niche, and they’re not bending over backward for stars. Here’s what keeps me coming back: - You can order a side of steamed pork liver, kidney, stomach, or beef tripe. I enjoy mine just as is or with whatever else I’m craving. - It’s one of the few places in Portland that still offers these specific cuts done in a traditional way. The not-so-great stuff: - Chinese donuts are hit or miss—sometimes crunchy, sometimes stale. - Wonton noodle soup disappointed last visit. The noodles had such a strong yeasty smell I could barely eat them. Their wontons are whole-shrimp style (not minced), which might be how they’ve always done it and I just forgot. - Service is nearly non-existent, so don’t expect warm hospitality. Last time I went, the lady asked “no tip?” before I even finished paying in cash. My receipt wasn’t in English either. It’s a tiny space, tables packed tightly together so prepare to wait or get cozy with strangers during peak hours. Parking: They do have a lot, but use caution pulling in/out from SE Powell. Overall: You come here for the specific dishes that are hard to find elsewhere. If you can stomach the attitude and uneven food quality, it’s still a niche gem, just know what you’re walking into.

Kenny's Noodle house is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Cantonese noodles & wontons. They prefer you use cash but will still accept card. Three large and filling bowls will cost you $45~55 (without tip) and feed 3-4 people easily. They have lots of options and ample parking. They offer complimentary hot tea but also have a delicious homemade soy milk that can be served hot or cold. The soymilk is on the sweeter side so for those who like a less sweet one I would steer away from it. We ordered their braised beef brisket, shrimp wonton + noodles, & shrimp dumplings. We did not try their veggie appetizers but I am sure they are also very good too.

Google
Kenny’s is the best spot for authentic soups, congee & other traditional Chinese/Hong Kong style delights. I’ve been coming here for well over a decade. The beef brisket wonton soup (add extra wontons) is out of this world! The chili oil they provide is the perfect compliment. You can chose from several different noodles, too, which is awesome! So thankful Kenny’s is still thriving as it’s truly an old school gem in the hood…

Google
My husband and I come here regularly (~2x a month). We always order a congee, #72, a Chinese donut, and hot soy milk. The chili oil takes the congee to a new level. #72 is an intestines dish so not everyone would like it— but they’re cooked well and tasty. Chinese donut is usually not too oily and goes great with the congee. The staff is efficient and welcoming.

Google
Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t Recommend I had high hopes for Kenny’s Noodle House, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The food was incredibly bland, and for a restaurant known for its soups, the broth was way too salty and lacked depth. We ordered over six different dishes, and every single one was flavorless—not what you’d expect at these prices. The service didn’t help either. Our waitress was not welcoming, which made the experience even worse. The only highlight of the meal was the steamed bochoy. In the end, we left disappointed and ended up going to Pho Van instead, which was a much better experience. If you’re looking for great food and a good atmosphere, I’d highly recommend skipping this place and heading to Pho Van on 82nd instead.

Very authentic Cantonese style comfort food. We had beef stew noodle, beef stew noodle w/ yuntun, and steamed pork liver, kidney and beef trip. All are really good. Highly recommended.

02/08/2025 (Sat) It's been years since we last came here, and we noticed that the menu, which used to have many pages, has now been condensed into a single sheet. However, we were happy to see that our favorite dishes are still available! We ordered #1. Shrimp & Pork Wonton Noodle Soup, #61. Pumpkin & Cod Congee, and #69. Beef Brisket. The Beef Brisket was as delicious as ever, packed with collagen and full of rich flavor. The Pumpkin Congee is my go-to dish—I almost always order it when I come here. The pumpkin has a soft, fluffy texture and a natural sweetness, almost like sweet potatoes. So good!🤤

Yelp
KNH has been a comfort food staple for SO LONG. The restaurant is super small so expect a wait if you're coming during peak. I come here preferably for the wonton soup and steamed pork intestine, liver, and tripe. I'm Vietnamese so I grew up eating these parts differently and I enjoy how they steam it in a nice ginger aromatic way and pair it with the dipping sauce. Truly a delicacy. For those who aren't adventurous, they offer the same dish with other more commons meats like fish, pork, beef and tripe. Would def recommend sharing as a table one of the steamed side orders. Their Chinese donut is also very popular! I'm very picky with congee and I find their congee to be very bland and too thick for me but they have tons of condiments on the table to adjust to your tastebuds. Simple and comforting on a cold day when you're iso something to warm your belly!

Yelp
I was quickly seated and the food was served pretty quickly. It's a small dining space, designed for quick dine in. I ordered congee with preserved egg and beef. I thought the food was so so. I liked the texture of the congee but didn't love the meat. It didn't feel well seasoned and there was a texture to it I didn't know how to describe. There is a small parking lot for the customers.

Yelp
Am I wrong? Anyone? Ordered on website for pick up. Large noodle soup w sliced chicken And small soup add brisket Not the worst part , Arrived 10 min AFTER my pick up time and went to counter. She took my cash and fat tip and just left. Didn't direct me to sit and wait Or how long it would be. I awkwardly stood at counter and tried to stay out of the way. She Served many others tea out of huge kettle 1 foot away from me. Could have gave me some while I waited....and waited...and waited w my back awkwardly to the whole restaurant being stared at from behind within very close quarters. WORST part....I take my stuff and go to my sick mom. Opened sealed plastic bags and then container of broth and it stank so bad like fish I poured down sink. BAD. Gag bad. Both broth were same stink. I didn't expect to get fish broth with chicken or beef. Someone who loves this place let me know if this is normal. It's either the norm, or they ruined it on accident ..... or on PURPOSE. Leaning towards on purpose. Has to be one vat of broth. And I was just not welcomed much in any way. The place is TINY inside and it did not smell like fish at all and they have fish cakes x20 on the menu even, when I walked in, at least 16 people had a bowl in front of them, it would have smelled like fish in there if was same broth I received. Smelt like a fish processing plant. I couldn't think of a reason for two stars. If you know something about the broth taste please educate me and I might reconsider.

Yelp
This place never disappoints especially on a gloomy day. Can get busy during lunch time but food comes out fairly quick. Pricing is very reasonable and portion sizes are solid.

Yelp
While visiting for the weekend my friends and I wanted to start out with a delicious, hearty lunch. Kenny's was just that for our first meal in town & right after our flight. The inside felt quaint & comforting. The menu has various appetizers, soups and noodle dishes. I opted for the wonton soup which was bomb. The broth was flavorful, noodles with cooked perfectly, meat was juicy and the wonton were super tasty. I ate the entire bowl with happiness. All of my friends liked their meals as well. It was an excellent start to our trip.

Yelp
My go to place no more, came at 8:55 with still customers in the store, I try and come weekly after arriving from Phoenix, same waitress but looks like 8:45 is okay but 8:55 isn't to get served. Will take my evening weekly business somewhere else from now on! Division is but a few blocks away, will get my Chinese fix elsewhere

Yelp
If you're in the mood for comfort food that hits the spot every time, Kenny's Noodle House is the place to be. Their Wonton Brisket Noodle Soup is simply unbeatable--rich, flavorful broth, tender brisket and tendons, and perfectly cooked wontons that melt in your mouth. It's the kind of dish that warms you from the inside out, perfect for any time of the year. Their congee is another highlight--silky, smooth, and hearty, it's like a hug in a bowl. Whether you're under the weather or just craving something nourishing, it never disappoints. Be prepared to wait, though--there's usually a line out the door, especially during peak hours. But the wait is totally worth it. The staff keeps things moving, and despite how busy it gets, the service is consistently good. They're friendly, attentive, and make sure you feel taken care of. All in all, Kenny's Noodle House is a must-visit if you're a fan of authentic, comforting Chinese food. Just be sure to get there early, or be ready to wait--it's popular for a reason!

Yelp
Been here several times and wish we had found this place earlier. Have tired many of the noodle soups and they have all been well worth the price. This is also a great place (small and crowded) to look around at other peoples plates if you don't know what you want. I am not shy about saying "I will have what they are having". I have not tried the congee since its just not something I like but I would assume it is good since they do such a good job with the other noodle dishes. Only downside is parking lot is small and can be a cluster F on turning into lot on Powell if you have to take a left turn. Plan accordingly.

Yelp
Been hankering for some noodles. Saw a food blogger experience at Kenny's. Decided to try it out. Ordered the large won ton noodles with beef brisket. Nice broth, tender tendons in the brisket, chunky pork bits in the won ton, al dente noodles. I hit a pocket of something that smelled like ammonia. Sampled each item in the bowl again, it was the noodles, I'm thinking, I hope I don't get sick. Several hours later and many trips to bathroom. There was couple of minutes of wait time for a table. It's a very busy small restaurant crammed with as much tables and chairs as possible. Lots of interior security cameras. Fast service, pleasant waitresses.

Yelp
Been meaning to hit this spot up for a long time now and couldn't be happier we finally did! The inside is cozy and casual. One staff works the whole front of house and she's very friendly and efficient. We tried the Beef Brisket with Wonton Noodle Soup that came with tons of thin egg noodles, super tender beef, and some of the most well-stuffed wontons I've had (a whole shrimp in each!). The broth was rich and beefy. This was a heartwarming bowl of food. We also got the Spiced Pork Lo Mein. I LOVED this dish. The slightly sweet and peppery stewed pork sauce worked so well with the thicker egg noodles. The fresh bokchoy cut through the fattiness of the sauce well. Would definitely order again. The side of Fried Doughnut was also very fresh and crispy. This with a bowl of their congee and soy milk would be heavenly. The price, portion, and quality can't be beat here. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
You won't be disappointed. Seating and parking is limited. Congee and noodles were so delicious. Great service. The noodle house may be a little outdated. Overall is great.

Yelp
Saw a tiktok that advertised this place and it looked good so gave it a go. We came in on a Sunday, place was packed for lunch, but we got seated right away. Menu was pretty easy and price was very reasonable. Small joint and no bathrooms. Place also prefers cash payments but accepts apple pay and card. We had the brisket noodle soup and pork stomach and clam congee. Absolutely satisfying. Would come again if we are ever back in Portland.

Yelp
Drinks: - N/A Food: - The mixed meet congee (44) is a must get. The congee here is amazing. They should be calling this place Kenny's Congee House instead to be honest - The sui kau noodle soup is a nice simple dish with sui kau dumplings. To be honest they kind of taste the same as the Wontons so either works if you were trying to figure out which one you wanted to order like me. Maybe my palate just isn't sophisticated enough to distinguish the difference - The Chinese donut is a good pick especially if you are eating congee. I'd say it's a pretty decent Chinese donut, it wasn't spectacular but it got the job done Ambience: - It's a small cozy place - Depending on where you sit you might be blasted with AC during the spring/summer which feels nice - The parking lot is right out in front of the restaurant on Powell, so sometimes you might encounter some interesting houseless folks near the street. Not dangerous or anything though at least not in my experience Overall: This place is a local staple. I've gone here multiple times and I will continue to visit. The owners prefer cash transactions so if you had some spare cash you wanted to get rid of, this would be a great occasion to do so. This deserves a spot in some "Portland Greats" foodie list because it really is that good and authentic. My partner told me "the congee here reminds me of the congee in Asia"
google avatar

Jonathan X.

Yelp
Overall I think this noodle house is okay. The noodles itself were not that flavorful. Large portions which is a plus. Service was quick as well. This restaurant is more like an eat in and get out vibe. Side note this location prefers cash.

Yelp
The line was out the door, but moved very fast when I was there. The servers are always very nice and fast with the ordering process, but definitely still give you enough time to search the entire menu. I ordered the kidney and liver noodle soup. Liver is something that drives people away because it can be dry and have a very strong taste. I have no idea what they do to their liver, but it has the typical liver taste but lessened by a lot. It is not dry whatsoever either. I've been coming here since I was in middle school and the quality of it still hasn't changed. If you're into crunchy textures and things that soak up liquid well, definitely get the Chinese donut to dip into any soup/congee. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone if you're looking for a nice hot bowl of soup that is very reasonably priced (I believe it was 14 for the soup).
google avatar

Janice M.

Yelp
FOOD: I haven't had such good wonton noodles in ages. The falcons are traditional and authentic like what I grew up with. They make the dry and soup noodle dishes and the different styles of wonton sui gao. The beef in the beef tendon egg noodles soup was sooooo tender. The egg noodles are not overdone and have the al dente feel to it like the street eats in Hong Kong. The pork in the wonton is fresh and the broth is so well seasoned. SERVICE: Prompt orders and efficiently working staff even when the whole place is packed. AMBIANCE: Not near much and pmuch a hole in the wall. But it's great for family lunch/dinners
google avatar

Yelp
First time here and tried dishes we haven't had before. Pork Spicy Noodles and Green onion with chicken noodles. Both were delicious and fresh. Wontons in the soup were super stuffed and tasty. Didn't know what to expect with anything but the soup and we loved everything. Busy and crowded but quick turn over and fast friendly service.

Yelp
From the outside, you could easily mistake it for a crack house, but there are good noodles to be found inside. Bare bones decor and no beer (like many small Chinese spots in the area). The menu is pretty much noodles soups and congees, and they have lots of types of each. I've never had a congee before, so we tried one w/ preserved salted egg or something. The egg was not my favorite but we did pick it cause it sounded weird. The congee itself was good tho, would be great to eat when sick. It's a lot of rice porridge for one person tho, I would recommend sharing. The beef brisket soup was excellent too, a generous portion of big tender beef chunks, savory but clean light broth and noodles were perfectly springy. I also like that you can order a side of some tripe/liver/kidneys to add to soup, and they give a lot of good tripe. The portion was plenty but not as monstrous as some other Chinese places, tho they were also a bit cheaper.
google avatar

Kiara Mae S.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem! I definitely recommend coming here. The service was great and the food came out quickly. I wish they expanded because the shop is on the smaller side, but it is always worth the wait. I tried the beef noodle soup and it was delicious! And you have to order the Chinese donuts to eat with your entree!
google avatar

Yelp
Noodles, soup dumplings, and congee -- what's not to like? I had the wonton, siu kau noodle soup. It was a welcome bowl of comfort after a long day of driving. Everything was perfect -- the broth, the firmness of the noodles, and the delicious dumplings. Value was solid. Service was efficient and kind. Parking is free in their dedicated lot. Bottom line: I'd eat here every week if I could. Highly recommend for no frills dumplings and soup noodles.

Yelp
Lunched at this popular restaurant off the 82nd Street Corridor. Ample parking in front. Was seating quickly in the small crowded dining room. Picture menus were helpful. Ordered the shrimp wonton noodles. The wontons were plentiful and succulent. Wasn't prepared for the ammonia-like taste of the egg noodles (found out later it's common for these type of noodles). Table side vinegar and chile sauce helped balance out the flavor. Will return for the congee and Chinese donuts.
google avatar

Siamen M.

Yelp
I thought I wrote a review for this. I guess not. Hands down the best Chinese comfort food in town. Honestly, better than the sibling store in Seattle in my opinion. That's why we travel far to here every time. Good size, clean and fast service. Plenty of parking spaces. Authentic besides a few items due to limited supplies in states such as the fried fish cake, but still good. Congee variety is great. We will come back again.
google avatar

Cara A.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but it was just okay. I say it from a tiktok video. There is a lot of parking and service is fast, but it's not my favorite wonton soup I've had.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally checked out this place. Solid wonton noodle soup. Worth checking out but not the best I've had (Full Key in Silver Spring, Maryland). No frills kind of place.

Yelp
Porridge is good any time of the day - whether you are feeling under the weather or if you just simply want something light to eat. After my one-week road trip in Oregon, I was definitely craving some Chinese food and was surprised with finding Kenny's Noodle House with so many positive reviews. Walked in before the lunch crowd and was seated immediately. The menu had lots of options, and I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat. Decided to go with a porridge and Wonton Noodle without Soup. The porridge was a good serving size, but nothing much to rave about. I didn't care for the Wonton much (because I like my wontons with more shrimp and less pork), but their noodles were cooked to perfection. It was so good that I decided to order the Beef Brisket and Noodles. I should have stopped when I finished my original 2 dishes because I didn't like how they drowned my Beef Brisket Noodles with too much sauce. There are plenty of parking spaces available. The waitresses would take your order and get your food delivered, but I wouldn't say much beyond that. The lunch crowd came, and the line was out the door, so the waitresses were low-key trying to get people to pay and get out of the restaurant. Overall, I was happy I got some decent Cantonese Food in Portland. Would definitely recommend it. While they prefer cash payment, they do also accept credit cards at this location.

Yelp
i didnt care much for the noodles itself, HOWEVER the broth was some of the most delicious broth ive ever had. super unbelievably flavorful and rich in flavor. Good portion and prices. The wontons are FILLED with meats and goodies and reminds you just how wontons should really be like. Staff was friendly and the place definitely had a homie feel to it. Even tho its in a kinda sketchy part of town i highly recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Dan H.

Yelp
People think that the wonton soup is great... I have had the best every week in Vegas... which was world class, this was marginally ok. Service was pleasant
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
The food is excellent all the noodle dish and soups are fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
Best wonton noodle soup in Portland. My favorite is the sui kao noodle soup. Unlike regular wontons, these also have bamboo and woodear mushrooms. The dumplings are of good size and the noodles are very bouncy, not like the typical egg noodles you get from the store. In my opinion, there's not much of a size difference between size small and large except a large will give you a LOT more noodles. If you only want dumplings, they have that option as well and you will get bokchoy instead of noodles. Definitely my go to whenever I crave this type of noodle soup.
google avatar

Yelp
Authentic and best Cantonese Noodle Soup in Portland! Born in San Francisco Chinatown a standard lunch at U Lee was Wonton Soup and Chow Mein. Kenny's Noodle House brings back childhood creature comforts. I did a search on Sui Kai vs Wontons and they are basically a difference in dialect. Sui Kai are jumbo Wontons the way they are classically. OMG I drive here from the Westside to have them. The egg noodles here are also a Cantonese classic with a distinct taste, which some reviewers have characterized as fishy or odd. Think of it this way, authentic Thai food uses fish sauce. My Chinese Acupuncturists referred me here. Their favorites include the Beef Stew or the Fish Ball noodle soups. I'd say my favorites are the Wonton Sui Kai Noodle Soup and the Beef Brisket Soup. I was going to Pho restaurants but have come back to my roots. People who dine here are almost all Chinese.

Yelp
I absolutely love little hole in the wall places, we decided to go and check it out, OMG so glad we did, this was amazing little place, very simple and the food was absolutely amazing, we ordered the beef noodles and the fried fish noodle soup with shrimp dumpling, I was so happy it was definatly made with a lot of love and packed with flavors, make sure to ordered the "donuts" fried bread with sugar on side so yummy! Service was amazing, we loved all the recommendations Thank you!

Yelp
We've done dine-in and take-out here, and both are pretty consistent as far as portion and quality however, perhaps a one-off occurrence but the last time we picked-up our usual Beef Noodle Soup, the Beef had a funky, slightly ammonia type smell/taste to it. Not sure why that would happen but ... we're willing to forgive it and try it again. I'm also sure if it had happened while dining in, it could have been addressed and taken care of, but a shame as it was take-out and what's done was done. Apart from that - Kenny's is a pretty straightforward joint. Authentic chinese noodles in various forms and a staple menu - is always a good sign when you see real chinese locals eating there. Their Congee (Rice Porridge) is definitely one of the best in the city. Go with the Preserved Egg and Pork - a classic, you won't regret. Beef Noodle Soup is good. Good tender chunks of braised beef and all its glorious tendon, egg noodles though - don't substitute the noodle type. Wontons are great. Delicately wrapped nice and thin as they ought to be. Plump bites with good filling. A great add-on to any noodle soup dish.

Yelp
Decided to try something new. Service was good, one waitress for the restaurant but she was speedy and patient. Ambiance was hole in the wall, good for a rainy day. The food wasn't my favorite but that's probably a me problem and not a Kenny's problem.

Truong Q.

Yelp
The service was bad. When I came to pick up, they said my order was already canceled without reason and they said they were trying to call me but I did not receive any phone calls for cancellation. Waste of my time. The worst restaurant I've ever experienced. Stay away from this restaurant.

Yelp
This is my friend's and I favorite hangover spot. The broth is healing and so delicious. Although the shop is small, it's a bit cozy and definitely gives off the family-run, authentic feel. The menu is HUGE and has so many options, I was overwhelmed at first. However, they're all pretty similar except for what you put into your soup. (And they're all delicious). Service is pretty quick and nice. Overall, this is just a really simple small shop with great, comforting food.

Yelp
This review is coming from a congee expert or that's what I would like to consider myself :). I stopped at this place with my mom for a nice traditional Chinese breakfast after a DMV appointment and the Pork Stomach & Rock Rod congee like always did not disappoint. It was super yummy and fulfilled my craving . My mom got the Sui-Kai & Beef Brisket Noodle Soup, which we personally did not like. The service was mediocre. Most of the costumers seemed to have stopped by for some breakfast before work. Nice environment overall! Our total came out to $29 with a side of 油条 (Chinese Donut), so the pricing is not too bad. For our next visit, we plan to share a bowl of congee and a side 油条 since it was enough for the two of us... give it a try yourself ;)

Yelp
This was the second time I dined at this restaurant. I ate there when it was brand new. I recalled not liking it that much. So I decided to give this restaurant another try. I ordered beef brisket noodle and wonton & siu kau noodle soup. I thought the broth from wonton & siu kau noodle was better than the beef brisket. This is normally the opposite at other restaurants. The first thing I noticed was that both noodle soup was missing the vegetable so this missing ingredient made this noodle soup not as authentic. I found the beef brisket not tender at all. The flavor was lacking a bit. Only a third of the meat was brisket. The other 2/3 of the meat was all tendons. If you prefer tendons, you would love it. I absolutely dislike tendon texture so it was not enjoyable. The wonton and siu kau noodle soup was much better. I got 2 siu kaus and 3 wontons. Each of them came with a whole shrimp. The noodle was chewy with the right texture. I just wish the bowl was bigger. I asked for two large but I would consider the size to be regular at other restaurants. If I could, I would give this restaurant a 3.5 stars. Parking is very limited so beware.

Yelp
Tight spaces, pretty on point for noodle/congee shop, but could've been better. Located at the crazy intersection of 82nd & Powell, smallish restaurant (seats 50-70?) serves authentic Cantonese style noodle & noodle soup dishes and congee (rice gruel). As this place is popular and seating is limited, expect a short wait during meal hours on weekends. While the menu is limited to mostly noodles & congee, they have a wide variety of "toppings" (e.g., brisket, assorted dumplings and meat balls, seafoods, etc.). Our go-to order for places like this are wonton noodle soup and beef brisket noodle soup. Prices are between $10 & $13, depending on size and "toppings." The wonton & siu kai were plump full of chopped pork, shrimp & mushrooms (5 total in our large bowl). The beef brisket had about 6 pieces of meat. Flavors were very good for the broth and noodle. More broth would've been nice since the noodle (plenty) soaked up lots of soup. The beef brisket was disappointing since it was about 2/3rds tendon and only 1/3rd beef, plus the beef, while flavorful, was chewy. There was also no choy (veggies) in these soups (besides a few shards of green onion). This place is worth another try in hopes that the bad brisket was an anomaly.

Yelp
Kenny's Noodle House was once my go-to place for great comfort food; however, I feel like the taste and quality have changed quite a bit over the past 5 years. The location of this establishment is quite easy to find parking. On a Saturday afternoon, we were able to get seated fairly quickly. The interior is cozy, and the woman gave us complimentary warm tea - great for a chilly winter day. It took a while for her to come back and take our order but the food came out at a good pace. We ordered the Chinese donut - it was crisp but a bit too oily for my liking. The congee was very traditional in terms of the porridge consistency. I felt that it was lacking a layer of flavor, not sure if it was due to the broth they used to make it and the fact that they don't use any MSG in their dishes. The meat quality of the pork was not the greatest, some pieces were very fatty and chewy. The preserved egg in the congee was quite tasty. The Chinese broccoli was decently portioned for the price, no complaints about this. The Sui-Kau in the noodle soup was good and the filling was quite chunky - too bad there were only three of them when we ordered a large bowl. The squid balls were decent, nothing spectacular. The noodles and broth in the soup was quite bland - it was difficult to finish a large bowl. Overall, I thought the food was decent and experience was subpar.

Yelp
The last time I had Kenny's Noodle House was in 2018. I really loved their food as it reminds me of the food I grew up eating. However, four years later, I was very disappointed this time. When we first arrived the server gave us some hot tea which was very nice on a cold rainy day. We ordered the wonton and sui-kou soup, and a beef brisket noodle soup. When the soups arrived it was piping hot. However, the problem was the soup broth. The broth was very seafood forward (shrimp flavor heavy of some sort) that didn't go well with what we ordered. The beef brisket noodle soup (didn't get a picture of it) had a mixture of beef and the seafood flavored broth in it which was an interesting flavor combination. Not a huge fan of that. The wonton and sui-kou soup had the same broth as the beef brisket noodle soup. The wontons and the sui-kou were packed with filling but the taste of them were okay. I'm not sure if we happened to go on a day that the soup broth was a little bit different from typical, but after this experience, I probably won't come back here again.

Yelp
Right when you place an order, the server runs to the kitchen and yells the order in Chinese. Growing up going to many mom and pop Chinese restaurants, this definitely feels like a home away from home! FOOD We ordered Chinese donut, and two noodles. The food is a solid 3/5 at best. The Chinese donut was really well cooked. It's fried and season to perfection. Inside is still chewy. It reminded me a lot like the ones in China so I think it's cooked to perfection. The noodles on the other hand was just okay and it's not what I expected out of a noodle restaurant. We ordered regular sized Brisket Noodles Wonton and Shrimp Ball Noodle Soup. The BNW was seasoned pretty well and it came with 3 wontons and 4 small pieces of brisket all cooked decently. The SBNS also came with 5 shrimp balls and was pretty decent for the size of noodles The down side was the noodles it self. It seems like the noodles was not fresh at all or it's really over cooked. Noodles were missing it's typical QQ-ness (the bouncy of fresh noodles when you bite down). On top of that, seems like we gotten the end pieces of the noodles and things were stuck together. Being a noodle restaurant, I expected way more than what was presented to me. SERVICE Service itself was okay. The server was low patience and carried an attitude the entire time. Not sure what ticked her off but when we asked some questions since it was our first time here, she proceed to eye roll at us and not being friendly at all. ALL IN ALL, the food is pretty okay. Each regular sized bowl is about $10 so it's pretty worth it. I personally feel like for the same price, you could get even better noodles else where. I would give this place another try, maybe on some of the other items!

Yelp
My bf (not the same from the last review) and I have made Kenny's a location we frequent quite often. It's simple. It's straight forward. It's pretty consistent. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
I ordered my food #13 it was wonton soup with beef balls and I added squid balls. They didn't give me my wontons and I had to drive back. The lady I talked to said my soup was supposed to have 5 wontons and she would upgrade me to 10 for the trouble of driving back. However when I got home she only gave me 3....I would check your order over and over. No condiments nothing but broth and missing ingredients, I herd good things and was sadly disappointed, obviously times have changed and the food isn't up to par. GOOD LUCK $22

Yelp
I had many won ton noodles in my life since I was from Hong Kong. This can be considered a very good won ton noodle eatery I had encountered. The congee and the fried long donut stick were excellent. This is my must stop place when I drove from Washington to California

Yelp
We did take out! Wow because of the pandemic, I haven't had or been here in over two years! We got quite a few things to eat and try! We did take out, btw. The prices did go up by $2-3 such as on average, most dishes/bowls would be around $10-$11. I remember it would be $5 or $7 in the past lol. 1. Sui-kao soup $10. My mom loves sui kao more than wonton and she said it was still very good. 2. I got a dry noodle with spicy red pork sauces (I don't know the actual name) for $10 or $11. To me, it was very spicy as you keep eating but you also don't want to stop because it was that good. The sliced pork was tender and the noodles were still nice in texture, not mush at all! 3. Pumpkin and rock cod congee $10. This is my always go-to congee at this place. Super good. It was a bit thick so when we reheated it we added a bit of water. It was delicious with a hearty amount of fish and Japanese pumpkin. 4. Fish cake $15 or so. It was very good and not a lot of restaurants have this. Therefore, this was worth it! 5. Beef brisket $13. Other restaurants would be $18 nowadays so this was very reasonable in price. Tender and delicious. Not too salty. The portions were very reasonable for the price! It may look sketchy on the outside but it's very good. The restaurant is small so either come earlier or wait.

Yelp
Kenny's was closed for about 3-4 months following Covid 19 restrictions, and I am so happy that they are back! I don't think I've gone that long without a comforting bowl of their noodle soups or congee before and I'm glad I won't have to go that along again. I've been back several times since they've reopened...and they've made some changes. The dining area capacity is reduced and tables are spread out more to help with social distancing. The menu books have been replaced with a single page menu that is printed on both sides that is laminated to make it easy to sanitize. Food is as consistent and good as before. Had the Chinese Donut + the #14 today, Sui Kao noodle soup with meat balls. You have different choices for noodles here, and I often opt for the wide egg noodles.
