"Sonoma takes a lot of visual its cues from Tuscany, and this boutique property, which occupies what could only be described as an Italian farmhouse, is an stunning embodiment of that aesthetic. A relatively small spot with only 29 rooms, Kenwood Inn is a great option if you're hoping for a quiet, intimate vacation—the recently remodelled spa offers a slew of excellent treatments and the lemon cranberry breakfast scones are unforgettable. We had the petite garden room. The bed linen was the best I have slept in. We were constantly disturbed by upstairs room walking about, using what sounded to be a hot tub and the hot water. You also have zero privacy as your only door/window is a walkway opposite the pool. So you have to have your curtains constantly closed and lights switched on. The grounds are beautiful, te coffee machine in the lobby is better than that given at breakfast, their chai tea bags were amazing. Breakfast starts quite late at 8am and is Buffett style. The first day we went at 8.30 and there was lengthy queues for the inlets (he only had one ring to cook on as management don’t want him using the stove “theatre style for guests”. I think guests would prefer to be served more promptly. Lots of trays were empty there was no yoghurt left. T I went at 8 the next morning and everything was full. They have a free wine tasting each night which is a lovely touch. Their food in the day is limited choice and all through a link, so instead head to the glen ellen village supermarket (6min drive) they have the biggest selection of salads, pastas, curated sandwiches and so much more. We eat these back at the pool.

Loved this place! It is beautiful, comfortable and has all the amenities one could want and need. The grounds are quaint and remind me of the Secret Garden. The staff was always friendly and attentive. The beds were so comfortable and I could live forever in the robes. The water pressure was wonderful and our room was spacious and well appointed. The fireplace was a lovely touch. The free breakfast was way above what I would have expected from a complimentary meal with coffees, teas, mimosas, juices, fresh fruits, baked goods a different specialty dish every day and eggs to order. I saw a comment here that mentioned a continental breakfast from the Marriott and I could not disagree more. My fiancée and I marveled daily at the delicious breakfast. There were so many special touches it’s hard to mention them all. We would love to come back and we will be recommending this hotel to all our friends and family.

Nestled in the heart of Sonoma Valley, Kenwood Inn & Spa is a luxurious haven where hospitality, charm, and tranquility seamlessly converge. From the moment of arrival, the experience is defined by an exceptional level of service—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel not just accommodated, but genuinely cared for. The rooms are a highlight of the property, exuding rustic elegance with thoughtful details that elevate the stay. Each suite features a cozy fireplace and a private balcony, offering serene views of the meticulously manicured gardens. These lush green grounds are beautifully polished and groomed, enhancing the sense of escape and connection to nature. The bed linens are particularly noteworthy—sumptuously soft and inviting, they promise a restful night’s sleep. While the pool is on the smaller side, it remains a hidden gem. Bathed in sunlight throughout the day, it provides an intimate and relaxing setting, perfect for unwinding with a book or a glass of local wine. Whether for a romantic retreat or a weekend of pure relaxation, Kenwood Inn & Spa delivers an unforgettable experience. Its blend of charm, comfort, and top-tier hospitality makes it a must-visit destination in California wine country.

What a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived with a friendly upbeat tour (didn't catch her name, but long hair and glasses), to the beautiful room by the jacuzzi, to our splendid time at the pool. We had the most gracious pool attendant, Taylor, who transformed our time poolside into a VIP experience! She absolutely will be the reason we return and look forward to the next trip! Everyone was in great spirits and was the perfect amount of privacy vs social environment at KSI. ||The concierge, Lim Ann was also incredible. She booked us the Chef's Table at Stella and was ready to help us with recommendations! She knows everyone in town. Highly recommend seeking her out!

Google
The rooms are huge with very nice bathrooms. Tons of amenities. Pool and adults only "warming pool" are separate. Free cookies at check-in, free happy hour at 5pm-6pm wine cheese and charcuterie. Nice yet simple breakfast included with mimosa option :) The grounds are beautiful. Location is a nice oasis. Yet close enough to restaurants and small grocery store.I will be returning soon. Expensive yet price is justified.

What a beautiful place! We only spend one night, but made the most of it! During a two day wine tasting adventure, a friend and I stayed at Kenwood for one night. We arrived to a clean, comfortable room complete with fire place and a bottle of sparking wine to enjoy! The grounds are kept beautifully and the (breakfast) food was delicious. We also joined the afternoon wine tasting in the lounge, and sat out by the fire. That evening we spent some time in the hot tub.

We had a wonderful time sitting by the pool for three days. All of the other grounds on the property, including the smaller pool/hot tub, are immaculate. There is some road noise while outside, especially during the day, but the many fountains drowned a lot of it out. We heard no road noise at all from our room, and they have white noise machines in the rooms if needed.||We live about an hour away in Marin County, which is a stunning place. We have also spent considerable time in Sonoma and Napa. We had high expectations for this place and while I am usually skeptical about anything related to travel these days, this place exceeded my expectations. I would not hesitate to go back.

I can't say enough good things about this Inn. Our room (Courtyard King) was perfect. Fireplace, comfy bed, lots of windows to open, outdoor patio. Breakfast is delicious and there is a fantastic wine/cheese every evening where a local vineyard provides tastings. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the whole Inn is beautiful - outdoor fireplaces lit, fruit trees, flowers - it does feel like Italy. We took day trips to Mur woods and of course vineyards. Loved our stay here!

Yelp
This place is the jewel of Sonoma. From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived, we were greeted with such warmth by everyone. We were stunned by the beauty of the property and all the personal touches on site that take this place to the next level (don't leave without taking a dip in the saltwater jacuzzi). The experience staying here was truly one of the best I've ever had. Being able to walk outside my door on site and sit next to one of the multiple outdoor fireplaces with a hot tea or wine made it feel like home. Few places have the ability to warm the heart, and provide a sense of peace and comfort like this one. The concierge was so friendly and accommodating (and made reservations for us at an amazing restaurant), and also recommended some beautiful hiking trails 5 minutes away. We had so much fun. If you ever get the chance to stay here, treat yourself - you will never want to leave.

Yelp
We had a one night mid week stay that went flawlessly. The grounds and structures have a real Tuscan feeling, the rooms are spacious and our was up to date w plenty of outets , dimmers on all lights, good HVAC, a spa style tub steamer, safe, nice fireplace too etc. Our bed was super comfy. ALthough we could not easily figure out how to get our streaming services going on the TV. The outdoor hot "Tub" its more like a small pool is a main attraction....and for adults only w 24 hr. access. There's also a large pool and lots of room to relax. My other half got an hour massage that she was pleased about. Breakfast is included and very adequate, two entrees and the usual fruit and yoghurt and pastries are buffet style. The wine and cheese happy hour is also really nice from 5-6. Good quality wine generously poured. Kenwood Inn has a laid back country vibe with a lot of nice perks, soda water on tap + coffee tea 24 hrs. The personnel are friendly , helpful and welcoming. Great spot for a short getaway or long distance travelers touring wine country.

Yelp
Me and The Hubs were in the area visiting family about a month or so ago and stayed here for six nights in the Tuscany Suite. This inn is amazingly gorgeous and is so relaxing. Upon arrival, we were struck by the lush plantings and fountains on the grounds. It's so green (hard to believe you're in an area often plagued by drought!). Check-in (as well as check-out) was a breeze and we received complimentary champagne along with a tour of the grounds when we checked in. Our room was large and very comfortable (the A/C worked incredibly well during the heat wave they were having). It had a separate living room area with a door that closed it off from the bedroom (nice if someone wants to stay up later and watch TV or read). The bathroom was big and very well-lit. There was a soaker tub plus a very large walk-in shower, two separate sink areas, and the toilet was behind a door - nice layout overall. This room is on the second floor of the building it's in and has a spectacular view of the swimming pool and the vineyards across the highway from the inn. Breakfast is included in the room rate. There is a choice of two entrees each day, as well as a buffet of things like fresh cut fruit (melon, pineapple, berries, etc.), a selection of breads and pastries, yogurt, granola, coffee, tea, fresh fruit juices. Entree choices change each day, although we did see some repeats after a few days. Some of the offerings included a vegetable omelet (with a side of bacon), waffles, breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, etc. Everything was delicious and well-executed. If you're a non-meat eater, there's plenty of good stuff here. They also do a complimentary wine and cheese hour each day from 5-6 PM with a local vintner which is a nice start to the evening before going out to dinner. While the inn does have food available during the day, they don't have restaurant sit-down service for lunch and dinner. The food available (can be delivered to your room or poolside!) are things like paninis, salads, charcuterie boards, etc. if you don't want to go out, but there are many very good restaurants within a short drive. Anyway, I would definitely be inclined to stay here again! It's truly a beautiful place.

Yelp
Are we in Italy? We had an amazing time at Kenwood Inn and Spa, thanks to the wonderful tour provided by Lim Ann. Her knowledge of the property and enthusiasm were impressive, and it made us even more excited to plan our visit. It's the perfect setting-- wonderfully situated in Sonoma Wine Country's beautiful Valley of the Moon.

Yelp
Kenwood spa was the perfect choice for a relaxing little getaway. It was like a lil taste of Tuscany. The customer service was amazing! Staff were so friendly and helpful. The free wine tasting was fun. This is definitely our new spot for mini getaways.

Yelp
I've stayed here a couple of times. I love the Italianate decor--all terracotta and Tuscan vibes. The heated pools are amazing. The main pool is gorgeous and surrounded by lemon trees. Rooms are beautiful and spacious. What a relaxing, magical stay.

Yelp
Went for a two night stay and loved it. Usually go to napa but changed it up and so glad we did. The grounds are beautifully kept, the staff is very nice, and the rooms very nice. We stayed in the king and it was very roomy. The fireplace was great. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were a little too big for me so next time I'll bring one. Shower was very larger. We were given a glass of champagne upon arrival and also had a bottle in the room. Nice wine time from 5-6. Great mix of cheeses, nuts, crackers and fruit. Breakfast was nice from 730-930. They had special options each day. First day was vegetarian omelet or waffles. Both came with bacon and hash browns. Bacon was really good. Second day was a breakfast burrito or French toast. They also have tea, coffee, juice, yogurt, pastries, and granola, all which you can serve yourself. Didn't go in the pool but it looked nice. Planned to go in the jacuzzi it said no jets so we decided not to go. Lastly, it's in a good location if you're wanting to go to different places (20 min to Santa Rosa and 20 min to Sonoma) We will definitely be going back again.

Yelp
This hotel has consistently provided us with unforgettable experiences. From the impeccable service to the luxurious amenities, each stay has been a delight. The staff goes above and beyond, creating an atmosphere that makes us almost hesitant to share this hidden gem with others. It's become our secret haven for exceptional getaways. Remarkable mentions are the garden grounds, year round heated pool, and the spectacular wine and cheese hour. We want to make special thanks to Sebastian and Jasmine - who are excellent at providing friendly and professional service every visit. We have been maybe 5-6 times as a quick getaway from the East bay , and have loved all the different price points of rooms. Big plus the espresso in the rooms, and evening port and cookies.

Yelp
This is truly a most magical place to find rest, and retreat, and calm to surround you and seduce you to the land of happy. The staff, the food, the water sculptures, the whole here is the land of wonderful!

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place. Definitely a serene upscale experience. If you're looking for a quite romantic spot this is it! Took a self care girls trip and we wished we'd stayed longer to say the least. Worth every dollar spent. I will be returning maybe for my 50th birthday in Jan.

Yelp
My fiancée and I had an amazing experience at Kenwood Inn and Spa today . We both got great massages at there beautiful spa ( sadly I don't remember therapist names ) . Afterwords my fiancée received a facial from Oceana that she loved! We then enjoyed the pools and the and entire property. We will definitely return

Yelp
FABULOUS!!! If you have any reason to be in Sonoma valley, you must stay at the Kenwood Inn & Spa. It's beautiful, romantic, quiet, you name it and you've stepped into a Mediterranean villa. Wine cheese tasting in the evening to wonderfully prepared breakfasts. The grounds, pool, water wheel taken care of with love by the staff. Speaking of which, the check in desk, a glass of bubbles and off to your room, which is elegantly prepared just for you.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at Kenwood Inn & Spa for two nights getaway and generally had a pleasant stay. Starting with the good -- all of the staff members we interacted with could not be nicer. The complementary sparkling wine (and fresh cookies) upon check-in is a nice touch. The complementary breakfast included with your stay is excellent. There is a free warming pool (with jets) any guests can access: a spa booking is not required. Room beds are nice and firm, pillows are plush, and you don't hear much of the highway noise, despite being right next to the road. If you book from their website directly, they frequently run deals as well, allowing you to stay at a premium inn for a not so premium price. Moving on to the not so great... I can't help but feel like I made an epic mistake booking a cabana for a few hundred dollars. The pool was completely empty the entire day we sat around in our cabana. We honestly could have enjoyed any of the many empty poolside seats without having to pay a penny. The included bottle of sparkling wine retails for $10 at Target so that doesn't add any value to say the least. The charcuterie board included in the cabana package is similar to the complementary cheese board offered during the 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. wine hour in the lobby. I wish I would have spent this money on a nice meal downtown in the evening instead. Moving on to the room, my wife and I booked a stay in one of the rooms located adjacent to the main hotel courtyard. Room number 14. Though the room comes with a patio in front along with a table and chairs, we never sat there because during our stay in late May, there were far too many mosquitos outside at all times of the day. The mosquito problem affected our enjoyment of our room as well. In each corner of the room, there were at least five mosquitos camping out. In order to find peaceful rest, I needed to stand precariously on one of the chair, grab a towel from the bathroom, and swap at each of the mosquitos waiting around in the room. 30 mosquitos later, I finally felt comfortable closing my eyes. Entering the exiting the room, you need to be extremely careful opening and closing the door. I legitimately almost lost a finger because of how close the door handle is to the center gap where the door closes. Dangerous! The floor/ceiling sound isolation is not great. During the evening when our upstairs neighbors were home, we could hear each and every one of their heavy footsteps. Last but not least, be careful parking your car under the trees. When I came to my car in the morning, I noticed my car was covered in hard-to-remove tree sap. Kenwood Inn & Spa does so many things well, but there is still room for improvement.

Yelp
The Kenwood Inn is a gem of a place! We love it here for the ambiance and scenery. Also the customer service. Sebastian at the front desk was so welcoming and friendly. Also Karen was super accommodating and attentive at the pool. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We have been driving bye The Kenwood Inn and Spa for several years, but never stayed there. Well, let me tell you, it was fantastic. It was so peaceful. The staff did not over wait on us, but catered to every need we asked for. The grounds are beautifully decorated with fountains, ponds and areas to peacefully sit. The staff gardeners used electric blowers so no one was interrupted by loud gas powered equipment. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. They gave you two choices of a hot dish daily, along with plenty of extra choices at the breakfast bar. The king size bed, sheets, and pillows made us want to stay in bed all day. So spend the extra money, and pamper yourself to this heavenly treasure in Sonoma county. Steve and Rachel R.

Yelp
Thank you to the amazing staff (from check-in, massage therapy, poolside service) for helping to make my birthday so incredible. It was only a one-day staycation...but it was incredible! We spent the day lounging in a poolside cabana while enjoying the beautiful gardens & water fountains, mimosas, froses and a delicious charcuterie plate...everything was amazing! Then a wonderful 80 minute massage w/ Jannmarie which was beyond relaxing! And capped off with a stay in one of their beautiful rooms overlooking the pool...left feeling very pampered and relaxed!

Yelp
This is the experience i wanted to get at the Fairmont. The staff is friendly and professional. The grounds are freaking beautiful. The heated pool with the waterfall was so nice. The cheese hour was delicious. The food is tasty. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I loved the bathroom, it was large. I highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
First off I would rate this Inn between a three and a four. It's a beautiful place almost feeling like somewhere in Europe. One problem is the shower which was huge but there were no grab bars and it was a little slippery. None of the floors are carpeted they are cement which is cool but very cold on your feet when it's cold. Love the fireplace as you could turn it on for 30 minutes etc. Centrally located to different wineries which is great and restaurants not too far away. I had my purse on a table and when I picked it up lo and behold there were ants. So we immediately called the front desk. Of course they couldn't come in and spray till we left and I know places like this it can happen.

Yelp
Amazing experience at Kenwood as always! Little bummed I had to ask for the free champagne for my moms 70th bday celebration....they used to do it pre COVID. But overall wonderful massages and experience! I think a little more extravagance is in order for even the "day time clientele" especially when there is a birthday celebration but I'm sure they are just getting things more organized now since COVID hit. Hopefully they will amp up the bday experience.

Yelp
It is a very nice place. It will be very tough to find a prettier hotel and grounds. That said, it's not for me. It's on a very busy road that you unfortunately realize at about 6am with all the traffic going by. To me the hospitality just isn't there for a place like this. You're thinking you'll be pampered? We were not. As soon as we entered the room, we found a pair of dirty sneakers on the floor I guess from the previous guest. How clean can the room be if you don't take sneakers on the floor out? Our bathroom sink was very slow to go down. We told the front desk about it but it wasn't fixed. We had an early flight to catch but were happy to see that we would be able to have breakfast before we left. We got to the breakfast room 10 mins. after it was supposed to open, lights off and nobody in sight. Any one of these things might be able to be explained away but all of them?

Yelp
I'm being generous with the 2 stars and you'll understand why. My husband and I had a 2 night reservation and pop up dinner at Kenwood Inn. We were looking forward to our stay as we had planned on visiting other wineries in the area. We were notified y text that our room was ready early and that we could check in, which was great. We arrived and the front desk staff was very pleasant and professional. They took our breakfast orders and gave a tour of the property which was nice. We asked if we missed the complimentary snack basket and wine hour, and they assured us the snacks were waiting in our room. Things took a slight downturn when we got to our room. Although marketed as a luxury inn, the room we had was not a reflection of such AT ALL. The room was sterile, lacking any decor or items that would make it feel welcoming or warm. The floors are concrete and there's one area rug. It's drab. The 'cookies and cheese plate' left in the room was packaged as and looked like an after school treat for a 5th grader. It was a joke. There were 2 cans of wine in the mini fridge. The wine hour and pop up dinner were fantastic. The next morning is when things went from meh to WTF. When our breakfast arrived to the room my husband recoiled after touching the covered plate, not because it was too hot... because it was freezing cold. It was as if they pulled these plates out of the refrigerator already plated- cold eggs, cold meat, no fruit or condiments as requested, a stale pastry and cold coffee, no cream or sugar. When I called the front desk they acted as if I was lying about how our food arrived. They brought up what was supply to be our actual order- and hot- and this time just handed us 2 plates- no tray, no condiments, no fresh coffee or juice- with even more issues. This time I had to get out of my comfy lounge wear, get dressed and go to the front desk, where I spoke with Chris. I explained our dissatisfaction and initially he was somewhat short, but was finally somewhat apologetic. He blamed everything on the chef but said he would bring an entirely fresh breakfast and give us a credit of some sort. My husband was so upset and I just wanted to get this sorted out. When I went back to the room my husband was LIVID. He said "I'm ready to go this place is a dump!" I was a bit taken aback but then he pointed to the floor next to the couch. There was a small roach on its back wiggling around. Just then, Chris and an attendant arrived with the new breakfast. He was very apologetic this time. I told him thank you but that this stay was one our worst and pointed to the roach as one of the reasons why. Although his mouth fell open I don't think he was all that surprised. He then offered a full refund (2 days during that time of year was $$$$$) minus the pop up dinner of course, which we accepted. We're not coming back but what tops it off is that Kenwood has been charging my credit card for $80 (I get it reversed and they charge it back) with absolutely no reason, product or service associated with it. This is all such a shame. It's a beautiful property but the service and rooms fall way below expectations for the price and just in general.

Vicki T.

Yelp
Lovely grounds and pleasant staff - but can be noisy depending where your room is. It is located next to a highway, so ask for a room further back, if possible. The massage by Kassandra was amazing. If you're looking for an outstanding dining experience, Glen Ellen Star only a few miles away is a must.
google avatar

Amirah A.

Yelp
Update: the management at Kenwood reached out, and they were very apologetic to my experience while I was there. He addressed all of my concerns, and mentioned that he spoke to all of his staff. In addition, he offered a full night refund during our stay. While I wish we could have experience this during our time there, I fully appreicate the gesture of fixing the issue. They have gone above and beyond to make me feel like a valued member way after I left the hotel and that is exceptional service. Thank you Kenwood, and I look forward to future stays.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for some pampering (and perhaps don't want to spend $1,500 a night like in higher-end properties in Yountville), we loved our recent stay at the Kenwood Inn and Spa. The inn is located about a 20 minute drive from Yountville in Sonoma County. It isn't walkable like Yountville in Napa, but you'll likely not want to leave the resort anyway with all the plush amenities and your room with its own fireplace. We made the most of our stay, enjoying the complimentary evening wine and cheese; port tasting; and taking a dip in the pool and hot tubs at night with no curfew (or at least nobody stopped us!). They also offered complimentary champagne upon check-in. Clearly, we didn't turn that down either! The service went above and beyond, even after I somehow lost my car keys and sent the staff into a frenzy. Be sure to book an appointment at their newly-renovated spa while you're there. Rates vary, but run anywhere from $250-$500 a night.

Yelp
We came here right after our wedding and we were given the royal treatment. We started in a private cabana by the pools. There was chilled champagne and orange juice waiting for us. The room smelled delicious of essential oils. A wonderful cheese and charcuterie and spread was brought to us. When we checked into our room there were sweet gifts waiting for us. The jetted bath tub was everything! The bed was incredibly comfortable. All of the staff were so gracious and welcoming. No request we had seemed like an inconvenience to them. The next morning we had the most amazing breakfast by the fireplace while we watched blue jays play. The pools were sparkling. The flowers were vibrant. And the views of the vineyards were breathtaking. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The worst experience I have ever had... When we arrive at a little after 2pm, we try to check-in and our rooms aren't ready. No big deal we have spa appointments, we will sit in hot tub. However, the front desks tells me nothing when I check in but here where the spa is on the map. So, we go to get our bathing suits on, head to sit in hot tub or warming pool before our appointments. What we find out is the hot tub by the main pool is gone and the warming pool (or other hot tub) was shut down. No one told us this before we came or when we arrived. When I went to ask the front desk about this, I was told it stopped working last night and no update. When I asked when they expected to fix it, no update. When I asked why didn't they call us let us know -l was literally told I could stay elsewhere. I kid you not. So, I called the Marriott / Lodge in front of the front desk/manager on duty and booked a hotel down the street. They did nothing, not even an apology. If you have been to this hotel, you know it's all about the warming pool/hot tub. This was broken and they did nothing to accommodate us. Literally, this was the worst service I have ever had. I booked everything, including spa appointments months in advance for my out of town guests. We have also stayed there numerous times and had amazing service. This is completely unacceptable. I don't know I would ever stay there again. They honestly don't even deserve one star!

Yelp
So, I scheduled a cabana a month in advance for my birthday, 9/14. Somehow I was able to book one, even though there were none available. Kenwood contacted me immediately to inform me that, through no fault of my own, I was a booked a cabana already accounted for. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to chill by their poolside on my birthday! Surprisingly, I had no reason to worry. Kenwood made arrangements to validate my reservation, and even provided extra amenities to help ease the mistake. When I got to Kenwood, I was greeted with the best customer service I've received in a while. Yes, one would think that paying a few hundred dollars just to lay poolside would afford exceptional service, but you'd be surprised. However, at Kenwood, I can honestly say you get MORE than what you pay for. For example, the exceptional and timely communication provided made booking with them pleasant. The waiters were quick, and didn't have an issue with servicing my friend and me. By that I mean, I didn't get attitude for asking for more condiments, napkins, or whatever we needed! The food was yummy. I enjoyed the charcuterie board because it had a bit everything I wanted, pickles, brie, carrots, olives, and even items I didn't, but was happy to get, like fig paste. The veggie panini, where the veggies are roasted nicely, has great flavor and was filling. This is coming from someone who usually will order a meat panini because I need flavor. The cabana and poolside experience was lovely. It's a really pretty setting, with fruit trees, and cute little seating benches surrounding the pool. Spacious, but intimate, yet, still maintaining a level of privacy sought by the pool. I'd definitely book another cabana with Kenwood. I am tempted to book a room next time also, along with some spa services. Oh, did I tell you the bathrooms are equipped with bidets? Thank you Kenwood for making me feel so glamorous and flossy for my birthday!

Excellent stay. Lovely spacious rooms - I was in 23. Nice outdoor happy hour with local wine and host. Tasty in-room breakfast. Fabulous spa treatments. Great pool and hot tubs. Helpful and friendly service.

Yelp
This place is absolutely dreamy! We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. It's nestled just off Highway 12, not far from the charming little village square in Sonoma and even closer to Glen Ellen where there is a great market to pick up wine country bites. It's a perfect spot to stay and be wowed by an amazing breakfast (delivered to your door), enjoy a day or two of wine tasting, and splurge with a spa treatment or soak in the gorgeous hot tub area. The landscaping and grounds are impeccable and the service is top-notch. We always feel very spoiled and special when we visit here. They are currently leaving small charcuterie plates in your room upon arrival and have local wine labels available for tasting during happy hour in the late afternoon. The rooms are well appointed with fireplaces and many other amenities. It is a bit pricey but you get what you would expect and won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The Kenwood was a super respite during the pandemic, took the family there twice and had two bungalow rooms with fireplaces and was super cozy on a cool night. The pool area was also super, very relaxing and beautiful... and generally all-together unforgettable and idyllic Memory in this charming romantic place!

Yelp
Kenwood Inn is indeed a beautiful place. I loved our room and the evenings complimentary wine tasting. I did call for an earlier check in at Noon as we were leaving another Inn not far away, which we actually would have stayed longer had there been availability. As we checked in we were told that our room was ready but normal check in wasn't until 3 or 4pm. Hmmm, was it not notated that we called and made this request, which was happily done and we were so happy for. This was a bit annoying as we felt we were being scolded. The front desk service was great, dont get me wrong, but it would have been nice if they communicated with one another in situations such as this or simply a notation on our reservation. The grounfs were beautiful, well taken care of and our room was beautiful, spacious, with a nice sitting area and fireplace and a cute balcony overlooking the pool area. This was our 4 night stay and first impressions did not disappoint. We both appreciated the notation in our room that rooms would only be cleaned unless requested. It was then shocking that we heard knocking on our door from housekeeping the next morning..not good, especially when it is noted by Kenwood that we would only need to call the front desk should we desire any items for our room as well as this service. It may not be a big deal to many but this was something we appreciated and unfortunately had to deal with. I believe that there is a lack of communication between the managers within the Hotel. The room we stayed in was one we wouldn't choose if we ever return which unfortunately I don't believe we will. The location was noisy as the pool pump was loud as well as the waterwheel on the property. Also, being right next to the kitchen was not a location I would want to be in. The morning breakfast was delivered at the time requested, we were offered a nice timeline for this and the breakfast was well done allowing us to make choices on each day of our stay. All in all Kenwood is indeed beautiful but could be so much more with a little more attention to their processes and procedures.

Yelp
First the positive things! The atmosphere is great. You feel like your at a country villa in Europe. Texted me that our room was ready early, couple hours before check-in. Awesome. Easy, seamless. Arrived and was given a glass of champagne on arrival. This was a great touch, we really like this! Well manicured garden and cool pool/ spa area. Room was clean and nice and big with our own fireplace, robes, slippers, chocolates, cookies! All those touches were really nice. Breakfast pastries were also great quality! Two complaints. 1 - could not get the hot water working in the shower. Only other complaint from both of us was that the pop up dinner was not worth over $300+ total for both of us for what it was. The wine was really good so maybe the cost is inflated bc of that? But it was a huge let down. I'm actually quite surprised you've had over 100 of those dinners. Biggest question would really be if people come back? Your hotel was lovely and your service was lovely, but the pop up dinner we opted into... but honestly, we're very unhappy about the cost of that food for what it was. We could have gone anywhere else for our 1 dinner away from our child and my husband felt like it was a huge let down and really cast a shadow on the one night we had away. We are foodies, and my husband is a chef and we know good food and the price was super inflated and the food really wasn't enjoyable. Didn't feel like she did anything special for us paying over $300... I'm not sure how to feel ok about this, but regardless I wouldn't recommend this pop up dinner to anyone. -First course: grilled nectarine skewers.... Really nothing to write home about. Didn't do anything special here. The jelly felt random like any Thai Asian sauce you can get at the store. And didn't tie into the rest of the food story. -purple potato salad. This needed something else. Maybe a better dressing, no potatos? Do something more interesting! Not much flavor and/ or not that creative. Just not a great pairing. -salmon was fine. Cooked ok. Tasted ok. Cedar paper made it seem cooler than it was. Similar to the other courses, just nothing to write home about here. -berry / cream dessert ... like do anything else. This was so basic and uninteresting. The produce didn't shine and neither did the cream or other aspects... wasn't worth finishing it. -Star of the show was truly the wines... I would honestly consider getting another chef or holding her to a higher creative and palatable standard.

We had a great weekend here for a special occasion. Sebastian was beyond helpful and made our stay and special wine tasting experiences so wonderful!

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! I am giving the Kenwood Inn & Spa a 5 star glowing review. We had just spent the night at a neighboring property and as we were leaving town to go back home, we stopped at a winery that was recommended to us. After that, we were just not ready to go home yet, so we decided to stay another night. It was the first beautiful day we have had in quite some time and the blue skies and clouds in Sonoma were calling our names. We needed to find a dog friendly hotel asap. According to Yelp, the Kenwood Inn & Spa is not dog friendly, but our wine concierge at Wellington Wineries said he was pretty sure that it was. So he called for us and sure enough, they are dog friendly. However, there is a $100 fee which bummed me out because I didn't find out until we checked in. Now you know. We've driven by this property so many times in the 30 years we've been in the Bay Area, and I've always wanted to stay and we finally did. The grounds are beautiful...lined with olive trees, citrus trees, lavender bushes, and many more. I loved how the ivy was crawling all over the windows and exterior of the buildings. I felt like I was in Italy, but I was 30 minutes from home. Our room could not have been more perfect. The marbled concrete floors were so beautiful, the fireplace with the chairs in front was so cozy, and I really admired the window treatments and the heavy wood furniture. The bathroom was huge and included a roomy jacuzzi tub and spacious shower. They provided toiletries by L'Occitaine - some of my favorite bath products. Our bed was a king size and boy was it cozy! I slept like a baby and did not want to get out of that bed. I've never been this in love with a hotel room. We had an opportunity to enjoy the outdoor, extremely large whirlpool that had a gorgeous waterfall. It was a chilly, star-filled night and it was just what we needed. To top it all off, we thoroughly enjoyed the wine and cheese reception. My favorite one had an orange rind and was so soft and creamy inside that I just could not get enough. I am on the hunt for that cheese to enjoy at home. You can't go wrong at this lovely property. I enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Kenwood Inn and Spa and I think you will, too.

Yelp
We wanted to just get away and the Kenwood Inn gave us a local taste of Tuscany. The room, grounds, staff, and amenities were above expectations. We recommend this property and we will be back.

Yelp
Seriously, if you want a romantic, relaxing, intentional getaway, Kenwood Inn is where you need to go. I can't think of one thing I would change over the three nights we stayed here. Absolutely gorgeous! So quiet, peaceful, and not to mention romantic! We stayed in room 24, there were freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on our pillows that were beautifully packaged, complementary local wine waiting for us in our room, I'll never forget the huge bathtub and fragrant bath beads. The service was five star, everyone is very respectful and extremely kind, our meals there were unbelievable. They hosted a complementary happy hour for the guests with wine, charcuterie boards, and different types of desserts. It was nice to mingle with the other guests, when we would pass teacher on the grounds, it was as is if we were all longtime friends. I LOVED that! Three days goes by way too fast when you're surrounded by such luxury. We will definitely return for further visits to Kenwood Spa.

Yelp
Gorgeous setting, luxurious rooms. Love the picnic and wine waiting in the room for me! Food was delivered promptly. The pools are open 24 hours and heated. Staff were really thoughtful and helpful.

Yelp
We decided to try Sonoma this year over Napa and we were thrilled! Having stayed at many different Four Sisters Inn properties, we have high expectations of quality throughout from the rooms, breakfasts, wine/cheese hours, and the cookies! The Kenwood Inn & Spa had just completed a major renovation that enticed us to visit. We were, again, completely satisfied with all areas of hospitality that is their reputation. The staff were exemplary as representatives for the brand - friendly, helpful and efficient at all times. We were very happy with the breakfast options and variety of choices each day. Julian was top notch in his wait service and the chef obviously takes pride in his work, delivering beautiful plates each morning! Our second floor room with private patio was very spacious and comfortable and included thoughtful amenities and a lovely fireplace. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous surrounded by vineyards, a beautiful working water mill, lush foliage including apple trees and fountains, a swimming pool and separate, large warming pool too. We will definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again!

Yelp
It smelled like a sewer. I hated showering there and I couldn't stand the smell when I washed my face. And mind you, I had Covid February 2020. I lost my smell. It was slimy and and did smell like rotten eggs. When I arrived, all the windows were open. Now I know why.

Yelp
One lucky girl to be swept away to this Tuscan get away in Sonoma--now my top two places to stay in the world. I'm a California native but getting out of the Bay Area is not so easy sometimes. Peaceful, romantic and tranquil and service is top notch. Staff will attend to all your needs and no request seems to be unnoticed. This is a intimate 29 room property but to be honest I felt like I was a guest in a luxury villa it has all of the amenities needed to relax. Upon arrival your greeted with sparkling wine and escorted to your room. Each room is private with patio seating for two and breath taking views of the Sonoma wineries blessed by the Valley of the moon. Bedroom area is large and comfortable with luxury bedding. Two cozy chairs and a fireplace for enjoying a cup of tea or wine. Start your day in the patio breakfast which is inclusive and substantial. Mingle pool side for happy hour and try local wines. Full time cabana manager for sunscreen, towels and drinks too. There is a smaller separate soaking pool for an even quieter plunge. Rooms are well appointed but I would prefer love seat in front of the fire place. Big luxurious bathroom with my favorite L'Octane bath products. Turn down includes chocolates and port or sherry in the lobby. The Spa is under renovation but the temporary location and treatments still exceptional. Don't forget to stroll the property and enjoy beautifully landscaped grounds with fruit trees, flowers and fountains. Location is near several wineries. I recommend VJB with great Italian style wines and brick oven pizza with strolling opera trio. Also try the delicious Kenwood Star restaurant.

Ah this place is STUNNING!!! I wish I could give it 6 stars. The property is gorgeous. There isn't a bad room. The pool is amazing. The food is excellent. The staff is the sweetest. You will NOT regret booking your trip here.

Yelp
Very bad stay ,not worth your money! Things to be improved in a place for around 700$/night: 1)Make sure to hire a good front desk clerk (when we called ,a lady told us there was no need for reservation for the spa ,we could just drop in once arrived at the hotel!big mistake and we spent 30mins on our way there trying to sort things out!Way to start the weekend ! 2)Make sure to not crank the AC on top of having Marmorino walls (type of Venetian plaster ) in the bedroom .It makes you feel you are in North Pole in your bedroom! 3)Make sure to put some sort of plants in front of windows if you are gonna give your guest the last bedroom with no natural light whatsoever.Otherwise it makes you feel you are in a dungeon.(see pics) 4)Make sure the service is top notch .Sebastian was good .The assistant manager did not step in into making up for the massages mess. 5)You want to look like somewhere in Provence ...sure thing !Make sure you look into details .The curtains on that part of the building looks wrinkly and dirty !(See pics)-Lounge chair broken -Dirty dishes staying a b long on a table after everybody left -Wrong attitude from management - 6)Presentation of breakfast can we elevated a bit better .The eggs were a bit stale .A dish is better at a common diner ! 7)Spa issues : -Don't ask for how much gratuity you want to leave before the massage has started (It's the last section you have to fill out on the form prior to the massage).Massage is a very special service .Gratuity should be decided once the massage is over with. -We were ready for our simultaneous massages with my husband and had to look for the masseuses that were chatting in another room to get started. -Monica and Leslie were our masseuses .Monica (young) decided it was best to go with my handsome husband and that I should go with the more experienced masseuse (28 years of experience ) Leslie.Such a FAUX PAS!Overall they did a good job except that it makes common sense that My husband should have gone with Leslie (the more experienced masseuse and therefore she would have put more pressure )And I should have gone with the young Monica avoiding misjudgment and awkward situation! -It'd be best not to have the gardener and his noisy machine going around at the time of the massage . I don't recommend Kenwood in and Spa as it's more in the apparences then the details!

Yelp
If you want to try something different and feel like you are truly want an experience that revolves around a true connoisseur then look no further. I am not saying to be a true wine connoisseur because I don't claim to be one but feel like I'm an expert even if it's for just a few days. This hotel mimics Italy's Rustic feel. The staff is the best I have experienced so far. They are very sweet and accommodating. During covid not everything is our normal but the staff tries their best to make up for it. Everyday having a cheese tray ready for you is the best compliment to any wine you pick up in the regions not to mention they provide you with a complimentary bottle at check in. The gourmet breakfast area is not open but every morning they deliver a fresh Chefs pick of day breakfast and it didn't disappoint. The coffee is really good and that's important to me when I travel. Now this may not for everyone if you are looking for a typical posh chain type of hotel this is not for you as it has an old world feel with attention to cleanliness. This is one of those places I will comeback to visit one day.

Yelp
I know this property intimately as I have stayed here 20 or 30 times over the past decade. It's a beautifully landscaped property that feels like you are staying at a French country inn. My stays over the past two years have unfortunately been progressively worse. Kenwood, like many businesses, is increasingly more expensive, but unfortunately the quality of their guest experience has declined making it far less of a value than it once was. Some examples from my recent stay ... the traffic noise from highway 12 is very loud, but the only room I was able to get was room 24 facing the road. the noise was so bad I couldn't sleep. When I was asked how my stay was so far I mentioned this and I got, "I am so sorry" nothing else. They recently installed speakers in the courtyard and around the pool / spa area to pipe in ambient music I assume to mitigate the highway 12 noise. In my opinion, the music was not helping, in fact it really brought the quality of the experience down. The waterfall at the pool and the fountains on the property did an excellent job of mitigating the traffic noise around the pool. To their credit when I asked them to turn the music off which were coming from speakers directly over the lawn chairs they accommodated us. At 10:15 in the morning, sitting on one of the poolside chairs the gardener turned on a power hedge trimmer and literally started working 5 feet from me. I had to ask him to please turn it off. The pool menu food is so bad we could not eat it. The spinach salad was basically sugarcoated nuts, with a sugary dressing, very little to no cheese. It's sad that they don't have more fresh healthy offerings on the menu. The spa experience however has improved, after the remodel they did during Covid. The treatment rooms are nicer and the bathrooms and showers are beautiful. I was happy to see they installed an electric car charger, but it was not compatible with Tesla which is the number 1 electric vehicle in California. When I checked out, again I was asked how my experience was. I told the very nice front office receptionist that it was not good for all these reasons, I asked her if she could have David the general manager contact me. She said he was in the office and she would have him call me as soon as possible. That was yesterday and I have still not heard from him. Disappointing Overall this is a beautiful hotel, but with the price point going up significantly they are missing on so many details.

Yelp
I have never been treated so badly at this inn in 5 years. I am a local and get facial treatments once a month with Danielle... She is a doll! But over the weekend... Just now I came with my boyfriend and mother. My boyfriend and I had planned to bring my mom out for dinner after our service so we bought her along to hang out at the pool. We also planned to surprise her with a third massage after mother's day. To our shock and dismay, my mother had arrived a few minutes early and was coming back out the front door in tears. She told us she had been kicked out by the extremely rude girl at the front desk who had serviced her like a barracuda. The front office girl then followed to argue with us about new management and a new policy that spa guests are not allowed to accompany the person getting the treatment under any circumstances. I then told her we were planning to get a treatment for my mother too, but she said they had no treatments to offer. BTW, Every time I got a facial during the week in the past, I was always welcome to bring my mom to hang out with me by the pool...in 5 years it has never be an issue. Often times my mother would get a spa service while she was there waiting for me. The massages were great!!! I loved my therapist, I despised the receptionist. WHERE DOES SHE GET OFF TREATING GUESTS THAT WAY!!! After wonderful massages we went back to the front desk to pay the bills and noticed the wonderful aromatic scented massage lotions we were offered by our masseuses were also displayed at the front desk. We asked if we could simply add on another $10 to our bill and take home one for each other as a romantic remembrance of our treatments. To our astonishment, the front desk girl featured in our outgoing photograph accused us of theft if we did not return them and refused to sell them to us for their normal charge of $10 per.unit. Needless to say, this pretty rude front desk girl has no business working in the hospitality services industry. Moreover, the Kenwood In Spa is foolish to let someone so inept and ill suited be the face and gatekeeper of their beautifully Kept spa and pool areas. I know we are never going back to the spa or renting another suite from them in the future. And we feel the need to spread the word amongst our fellow Sonoma and Napa valley friends to take them off the list of places to go and things to do in the region. If new management cannot figure out how to rectify the situation and properly put the consumer first, we want nothing to do with them. And through inevitable word of mouth, they are doomed to fail. Our family has spent close to $10,000 here in spa treatments and rentals as locals- this experience has crushed my mother's heart... We've lost faith in Kenwood spa-and they have lost us as long time regular clients because of how we were cruelly treated.

Yelp
Pure magic. Two heated pools, lush grounds, opulent yet homey rooms, and the sense that you have somehow been transported to the heart of Italy, or maybe Spain... Checking in at the Kenwood is like stepping into heaven, and, if you're lucky enough to be checked in by Steven, you'll be sure you've met an angel. Cheeses and local wine at 5:00 p.m., breakfast between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., all of the highest quality and caliber. The eggs are freshly cooked and smothered in melty, delectable cheese; the potatoes are spiced and cooked to perfection; the granola is out of this world; the yogurt is the smoothest and creamiest I've ever tasted; the fruit is fresh and ripe, and even the coffee is delicious. But you may have to convince yourself to leave your room. The bed and pillows are soft and luxuriant. The lights have dimmers for perfect ambiance every time, and there are big, soft chairs in which to lounge by the fireplace. The subtle tones of the stone floors are a perfect complement to the warm colors and old-world decor that pays loving tribute to European villas. When you do go wandering, be sure you explore this amazing property. It's bigger than you think, and there is so much beauty to discover amid the ivy-covered archways of the mission-style architecture. There are roses, grape vines, hide-aways with intimate little tables and chairs, fountains, statuary, and, of course, the welcoming smiles of the incredible staff, all of whom are friendly, warm, and quick to help with anything you need. If the clerk at the front desk has stepped away, though, when you come by, you can help yourself to big, soft cookies and either port or sherry while you wait. Because, of course, this being heaven and all, even waiting in the ante room will delight your senses and make you feel like royalty.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stayed here on the weekend, we enjoyed the amenities and room we had (Sonoma Suite) Our Sonoma Suite had a jet tub, Rain shower, refrigerator, robes, slippers, L'Occtiane hair and beauty products, a fire place in both the living room and bedrooms, and a living room with a TV. Also they had classical music playing when we entered the suite. The property is very beautiful. I really enjoyed their heated pool, daily complimentary wine, cheese, and cookie bags (only offered from 4-5pm from the front desk or they will let you know when it's ready to be picked up) and daily breakfast (you fill out a form and pick which menu item you want and turn it in at the front desk by 7pm daily, you also get to pick which time you want your breakfast to be delivered). The breakfast options were limited but was still delicious. They delivered our breakfast on time daily. Also, on the nights that we stayed it seemed like they had a wine hour every night around 5-6pm where you can sit at the lobby area and they offer you wine to taste. You don't have to pay for the wine tasting, at least we didn't. Also, I found out at the end of our stay that water bottles, sodas, or non alcoholic beverages are complimentary, this info can be found on the menu that's on the table in your room.

Yelp
Just spent our 2nd wedding anniversary here and wish I could give more stars. From the moment we stepped into the lobby and until we checked out, our stay was the best we have ever had as a couple. The staff is amazing, the resort is extremely clean and we felt completely relaxed after returning home. I highly recommend this place!
