A mesmerizing cultural experience! This was an incredibly positive experience from start to finish. The 2-hour spectacle was perfectly organized, and we were warmly welcomed by the very polite and attentive staff. The first hour was dedicated to the preparation rituals, including makeup, lighting candles, arranging flowers, and creating intricate designs on the floor. Time flew by as there was always something fascinating to watch. The second hour showcased a captivating dance performance with detailed explanations of the meanings behind the movements and expressions. It was both instructive and deeply engaging—you won’t feel bored for a single moment! The dancers were exceptionally professional, and the costumes were absolutely stunning, adding even more magic to the performance. A must-see for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in local culture!

The whole show is quite impressive, from preparations (make up), through demonstrations, to performance. It was very interesting to learn what Kathakali is. Demonstration part of the show is really crucial to understanding the whole value of the show. Actors, musicians, singers, and other stuff members are really professional, and everything is well organised :) If you got time, step by, and see one of the shows they have, it takes only 1h (2h if you want to see make up preparations) and it is a really nice entertainment. Money well spent. Thank you!

Highly recommend the wonderful classical music at 8 and the beautiful dancing at 9. We went on Monday evening and it was such a unique experience. Felt authentic and not touristy, the price was also very reasonable. If you do one thing in Fort Kochi, make it this!

If you are around Kochi can't miss this. The best moments in our trip have been in this kind of cultural centers. Affordable, professional staff and a real unique experience. If you go early can see how the actors prepare themselves. Really amazing. They also have yoga and meditation lessons in the morning.

Absolutely amazing place to admire Kathakali performance in an well organised air cooled theatre located in Fort Kochi. Do not miss the make up part at first. They explain in detail about makeup components and also explain on how to understand the Kathakali Dance form. They do provide written narrative of the play as a preview. I enjoyed the play Keechaka Vadham - A small part from Mahabharata. Prior reservations recommended.

Amazingly done. You can see the make-up part first, then it's briefly explained how to make your own make up from natural ingredients, later on they explained the facial expressions, eye movements and gestures which are used by the actors to express themselves in the play rather than using any words. It's fantastic and then easy to understand why a full education needs six years to master this stunning art. Fascinating. What a hard job for the great actors. Everything is very well organized and the theater is comfortable and air-conditioned.

The Kathakali show from 5 PM to 7 PM was super. The first hour and the half was The make up, the explanations about the different Bhavams - it was good. Only problem was the seating. The show itself was also good
