Wonderful place to learn about the classical and local art forms of Kerala. It is advisable to book tickets on their website in advance, so that you get premium seating. The artists begin their make up at around 5pm and the show starts at around 6.15 and lasts up to 7. Kalari show begins at around 7.15 and ends at around 8. Both the shows were great. It may not be as interesting to those who know nothing of the classical arts and Indian mythology, but it will definitely provide an insight into the art forms of Kerala.

The Kathakali performance is amazing. All the artists are extremely talented and know their craft really well. This is definitely a must watch show if you are in Kochi. The Kalari Martial Arts performance is also unbelievable. That show is just 15 min after the Kathakali show. So both of them can be enjoyed together.

What a cozy and welcoming place! The earthy aroma of wood and incense, with a subtle hint of flowers, greets you as soon as you enter. With its traditional décor and soft lighting, the seating area instantly transports you to a more intimate setting. It's one of those locations where you are forced to slow down and take a few deep breaths by the atmosphere alone.

🌟 A must-see cultural gem in Fort Kochi! If you love Indian classical dance or photography, this experience is unforgettable. The costumes, expressions, and makeup are mesmerizing — a result of years of dedication by the artists. The theater entrance is a bit tucked away, but don’t let that stop you. Inside, it’s fully air-conditioned, with comfortable seating and a great view of the stage. Arrive early to explore the beautiful temple space below and enjoy the evening pooja. The flower arrangements, kolam, and lamp-lighting add a divine touch. What really sets this experience apart is the short demo before the main show — explaining Kathakali’s history, facial expressions, and makeup. It adds so much depth to the performance. Best of all, they perform every single day, even for just one guest. That level of commitment is rare and deeply moving. This was the highlight of our visit to Fort Kochi. Highly recommended — we wished we had time to return for a second evening.

I attended a Kathikali traditional dance performance for the experience. The 2-hour show was divided into three parts: the first hour was dedicated to makeup, the next 30 minutes were spent demonstrating the meaning of the actions, and the final 30 minutes were the actual performance. The venue was nice, with air-conditioned .the theater is near Kochi Fort, and the ticket price was 600 rupees for the 2-hour show.

Wonderful show of traditional mime/ dance on mythical themes. Performance includes actors doing their make up on stage for the first 20-30 minutes. Good commentary and demonstration of the art just before the performance.
