Kerbey Lane is a staple in the Austin culinary scene for decades. This atmosphere at this location feels generic, lacking the character and quirkiness of the original location. What you get in return is a large parking lot and no headaches trying to find a place to park. The food is excellent and comforting. The Chef’s Specials offer unique and interesting flavors. The service was great.

Kerbey Lane Café is an absolute gem, serving up some of the most delicious comfort food with a fresh and flavorful twist. On my recent visit, I was blown away by three standout items: the Matcha Latte, Kerbey Queso, and Blueberry Pancake. The Matcha Latte was pure perfection. Smooth, rich, and just the right balance of earthy matcha and creamy sweetness, it was both energizing and indulgent. Unlike other matcha drinks that can be overpowering or too sweet, this one was expertly crafted, making every sip a delight. Next came the legendary Kerbey Queso, and let me just say--it lives up to the hype. Velvety, cheesy goodness with just the right kick, this queso is dangerously addictive. Paired with their perfectly crisp tortilla chips, it's the kind of appetizer you dream about long after you've left the restaurant. And then, the grand finale: the Blueberry Pancakes. Fluffy, buttery, and bursting with fresh blueberries, these pancakes were an absolute showstopper. They had a perfect golden-brown crust with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and with a drizzle of syrup, they were nothing short of heavenly. Beyond the incredible food, the service was outstanding--warm, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff made sure everything was just right, offering great recommendations and making us feel truly welcome. The ambiance was just as inviting, with a laid-back, cozy vibe that perfectly captures the heart and soul of Austin. My wife and I had Denver omelets this morning. They were good but nothing special. We think the omelets are better (and less expensive) at Jim’s or La Madeleine’s. The sides of fruits were disappointing: grapes, a few small apple slices and two pieces of blood oranges that looked great but provided only a little juice. We’d much prefer some berries. The side of black beans was barely warm. This may be a great place if you want comfort food, especially if you need to avoid gluten (they have a separate menu for gluten-free food). We don’t have a problem with gluten and we avoid sugars and starches because they lead to health problems.

Matt was an amazing server! He was super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Our drinks stayed full, the food came out perfect, and he had such a great attitude the whole time. He really made the experience better and we’ll definitely be asking for him again next time. Had a lovely brunch at the Westlake location. They accommodated our larger party. Food was delicious!

Had breakfast this morning in Westlake& place was nice, service good, but food gave mixed opinions. We both got sausage patties with our meals, unfortunately they were burned (picture 1&1a). I asked that they replace them which they agreed to do. However, after about 15 + minutes, we gave up and just ate the best part of the burned ones. When the new ones came out (we were done!) they looked ok, (2nd pictures) and I thought, "so they do know how to make them without burning them." However, when I turned them over, these were all burned on that side! (3rd pictures) Eggs & biscuit were good, so I may come back, but I think they really need to give food prep some review & oversight! This could be so much better!

Food was delicious. Staff is friendly. Great for kids as well. Has closed playground .. ideal for toddlers while parents eat near by.

Avoid. They are lost. Half of the tables were occupied for lunch. A bad sign. 52 minutes from order to food and a second round of drinks. They got two of three orders wrong, and the third was congealed. Manager wouldn't even come out. Six months from now they'll be boarded up. Wonder what's next?

Always good and hot on delivery. Love this place. The best breakfast spot I've ever seen.

I used to come to this location growing up and it seems the service and quality has gone down significantly. First - they made us wait 15 min to be seated even though more than half the restaurant was empty ?? Then they sat a person who came in after us first because they were loudly complaining. Second - when we were sat we weren't given any utensils or napkins until we asked halfway through the meal, and the waitress did not check in or offer water refills or a to go box. Unfortunately disappointing service and subpar food. 3/5 food - at least the sweet potato fries were good 1/5 service 2/5 vibes

I've been here a few times, and the food is okay, not as good as the original location on Kerbey Lane. The eggs are pretty average and I haven't gotten them again. The one item at this location that surpassed my expectations was the Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes! They tasted just like cinnamon rolls in pancake form, and the glaze was absolutely delicious. I never would have expected something that good to come out of KLC Westlake! I also ordered the gingerbread and buttermilk pancakes, which were average. Overall, this location reminds me of average diner food.

We come here at least once a week for lunch. The food is consistently good, but what brings us back is the outside patio and fenced in playground. We've befriended a lovely server, Miranda and she is so sweet with the kids and knows our order before we ask for it. As for the food, the queso is good- pretty mild and the kids enjoy it. Can't go wrong with the breakfast tacos, my favorite being the chorizo, egg, and cheese. The Chicken tortilla soup is great, especially on a cold rainy day.

Nice ambiance with a mixture of retro and hip, and food was delicious. I ordered the Golden Glow which didn't taste too carrot and felt refreshing; I just wish portion was bigger. Texas Benedict was delicious and packed with flavor (apologies I accidentally cut into it before taking a photo). The corn bread instead of English muffins added an additional kick. The portion was much more than I expected! My only feedback was the service was a bit slow although our server was sweet there was just a lot of dead time.

Wagyu meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccolini. Yum!!! Service was excellent! Background music was my jam! Convenient to HEB. Lots of parking.

A down to earth mom and pop style breakfast eatery. The interior is a bit dated and could use a refreshing. Our waitress, serving her first day exemplified professionalism and courtesy. Supersize pancakes, omelets, eggs over easy, every dish is a hungry man meal!!

Really enjoy this great vibe Sunday join. Busy but I came here alone after dropping off my kid to my sister's place. I saddled at the counter and I got a great friendly, funny and upbeat waitress. She gave me her suggestions and also insisted on the beers (I asked). Got the beers and Cuban breakfast plus a pancake since she said it's one of the best in Austin...not sure on that but it does taste very tasty (a tat sweet for me) but I ate them all with orange juice. The Cuban is also great too, especially with the beer. It was the best 2hrs of that day.

My husband ordered the shredded chicken omelet and it was truly delicious! I ordered the eggs Benedict with regular bacon and it was good. Only downside was my English muffin was over toasted which made it hard and chewy on the bottom, but that was only one of them so the other one which was toasted well was very good. We brought our German shepherds with us as we just got done from a long hike and the restaurant was very friendly toward them and allowed them to lay underneath the table on their outside deck. There is a children playground area with a huge chalkboard that is pretty cool distraction for people bringing kids. Pricing is very reasonable and mimosas were strong! Love this spot

Kerbey Lane was a fun brunch spot with both traditional favorites and unique options that I'd never seen anywhere else! They have a good mix of all-American, Tex-Mex, and more Euro-influenced dishes, so there's definitely something for everyone. My sister got the Migas with veggie chorizo (her go-to order), while I got the Texas Benedict. The Texas Benedict is super hearty, with a great flavor profile that combines slightly sweet cornbread with the saltiness of eggs, beef, and queso, with a little kiss of acid from the pico on top. The potatoes were very well seasoned -- no ketchup or hot sauce needed! I would definitely recommend the potatoes as your side, regardless of your entree. Kerbey Lane also stands out for having surprisingly reasonable prices in a field where a lot of brunches have gotten increasingly expensive. I really appreciate a good meal at a good price! Kerbey Lane may not be fancy, but it knows what it's about and does brunch well.

Eric C., funny guy! Now, I could leave it at that but you would probably think he is the restaurant goof and that would be a disservice to Eric. Yes, he is funny but he has great customer service skills too. We were being seated by the host when Eric stepped back from his forward trajectory to the kitchen and said he was just dropping some things off but wanted to introduce himself and asked if there were any drinks he could bring back with him. The service was onward and upward from there. Keep shining, Eric!

It has been a few years since I had eaten here. Honestly it was good. It has been hit or miss the last couple of times I came before I took it off my regular rotation. I got the David Enchiladas. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. Both were well prepared. Our server Alexis was nice and happy. Currently, I can earn AA miles dining here. It was one reason we stopped but glad we did. Glad the food is back to hit vs miss.

WAY WAY above and beyond service. We popped in for breakfast this morning. Initial service was wonderful - our waiter was great. We had the lemon poppy seed French toast and harvest omelet. Both were tasty and large portions. Great value. But upon paying, my bf dropped his card down between the wall and the booth. They helped him for no less than 20 minutes with various makeshift tools to get his card. Finally getting it out with the handle of an enormous spoon. Absolute 5 star treatment.

I always love a breakfast from Kerby Lane and it was wonderful as usual. We had the Kerby Lane combo with the sausage and each ordered the pancake of the month. I had the lemon poppy and my husband had the strawberry banana oat. It was so delicious! Finding the sunrise when I arrived was a wonderful way to start my day. I'll be back again!!

Finallly, Austin, affordable, and pancakes all in same place. Tried their buffalo maple chicken and pancakes. Perfectly fried chicken strips and double stacked super large fluffy pancakes. I asked for buffalo maple to the side and used as a drizzle along with separate maple syrup. Cold brew ice coffee is good not great. Service was friendly. No wait with immediate seating. Ticket times respectable 10min. Pancakes are exactly what they should be. This location has vast number of booths perfect ambience for larger families. Worth finding a location in Austin, today is Westlake. Prices are terrific compared to the boutique expensive breakfast places where you're hungry an hour later.

Chloe j our waiter was rude and ignored us we were never checked on and never got refill she never asked if we wanted one we waited awhile till she came by and just said I'll give you your check and that was it not even to see if we wanted something to drink terrible service she doesn't even deserve 5 buck tip very disappointed they need to do better.

I got the monthly special; peach cobbler pancakes, eggs and bacon. Bacon was on point, eggs were good and the pancakes were really good. Not too much stuff on top, which is the way I prefer. Compared to a few days ago when we came in and we're not helped, I was helped immediately, the server was amazing. It's quiet enough to read a book, which is nice - it's never quiet in any of the Kerby Lanes.

My husband and I decided to go to breakfast this morning. We drove up, parked, and went into the restaurant. After going into the restaurant we waited by the host stand. We actually waited for a little more than 5 minutes and then someone showed up, greeted us with a smile and seated us very quickly. The booth we were seated at had just been cleaned and was a little damp when I sat down but luckily it dried fast. After a few minutes the waiter brought us our menus and took our drink order. He gave us some time to look at the menu and then returned after a few minutes to bring our drinks and take our order. I ordered an apple juice and some water to drink. For my meal I ordered the Crispy Chicken Benedict which is a biscuit, fried chicken, poached egg, hollandaise, green chili sauce and onions. I ordered it without the hollandaise. This was a really tasty choice. The poached egg was good and when I cut into it the yolk ran on the chicken and biscuit. The chicken was tender but I couldn't really taste the biscuit as it softened up with all of the ingredients on top of it. The green chili sauce is what gives it a lot of flavor. I liked the combination of ingredients. I also ordered a side of bacon. The bacon was okay. I prefer my bacon crispy but it was more chewy than crispy but it was still okay. I tried my husband's French toast and it was really good covered in syrup. It was a nice sweet addition to my flavorful meal. Overall it was good service as our waiter was very friendly and good breakfast food.

Our favorite tradition after church is to enjoy visiting over breakfast. Over the years we have dined in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. We enjoy trying out different places, but our absolute favorite "go to." The service is always incredible no matter how busy the restaurant gets during peak hours. Our waiter Jay N was terrific. We had a lot going on with special orders and questions about the menu. His kind, positive energy was to be admired. It was obvious that he was having to juggle a number of tables, but he never made us feel rushed or uncomfortable. Thank you Jay for taking such good care of us. We'll be back!

Came here during the winter storm and was happily surprised that they were still open! Great service, we were checked on frequently! Loved the tamarind brussel sprouts!! Highly recommend!!! The cowboy queso was also tasty, the chips were solid chips! I got the vegan breakfast platter. The vegan vanilla pancake was very dense. The patty was good just oily. I thought that the tofu scramble was really strong in chili flavor, could have used more depth.

My wife and I have been to this location twice now and I'd say we have a mixed experience, but would overall recommend giving this location a visit. First, the restaurant itself gives a standard diner vibe. It's a spacious location with plenty of seating, which limits wait time. That's a plus. The service has been great both times we've eaten here. They miss the mark, for me, when it comes to their Eggs Benedict. This is one of those meals that's an instant order for me anywhere I go. Both times I've ordered a different variation of their Eggs Benedict and both times the eggs have been severely overcooked. It's disappointing because it defeats one of the main appeals of an Eggs Benedict. However, I will caveat by saying that this could be due to timing as both times we've gone has been closer to lunch time on a Sunday. Besides the eggs, the rest of my meal has been enjoyable. My wife, a ranch connoisseur, told me to give them an extra star based on their ranch alone. She has really enjoyed both meals she's ordered, and I'd agree that her food has been very tasty. Overall, if you're looking for a brunch or lunch spot, I'd recommend giving them a try. Maybe just avoid the Eggs Benedict if you want correctly cooked eggs. Otherwise, you'll probably have an enjoyable experience.

I suspect this is a good place - where I just had flukey bad luck. * * * Kerbey Lanes are generally okay. In Westlake, Kerbey Lane may be the only institution outside of Westlake High School with any degree of coolness whatsoever. Many West Lake Hills residents are cool - but their retail establishments are as dull and stodgy as they come. Kerbey Lane is a breath of fresh air in a city full of "that's-nice-dear". * * * I suspect Kerbey Lane's breakfasts and Tex-Mex are pretty good. I went with a custom dish - a blackberry pork chop. Take pork chop. Put a spice mix on it. Saute said chop and put blackberry compote on top. What can be bad? * * * Well, Kitchen Mistakes are generally bad. Somehow, industrial quantities of salt got on my pork chop. Someone didn't mix the salt into the dish evenly when making the spice mix. Alternatively, someone accidentally went ker-dump-o when salting the pork chop on the grill. The result was unpleasant. Blackberry compote covered up the problem but not enough to make the dish good. Brussel sprouts were neutral - which in this case, made them the star of the show. * * * Stick to the standard items and you are probably okay here. If not ... Cedar Park has some amazing breakfast places.

I'll get the gripe out of the way. I have been to many locations and this one pissed me off, they LOCKED the handicap entrance!!! What the hell. I had to go all the way around to open the door for my daughter to use her walker. I asked why, their response was "we keep the homeless out". The food was good. Our waitress was great. The hostess was lazy and unhelpful, on her phone while we struggle to move things around to accommodate the walker.

Walked out. Not very busy at 1:30 pm, 10 min wait for a seat. When was guided to table by host, sat for 10 more minutes with no waitstaff coming by. Left

I went here today for breakfast for the first time at this location. Service was fast the location was clean a spacious. I ordered biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and 2 pieces of sausage. All was cooked perfectly and ample quantity of food. Good coffee and a great way to start your day

We were seated for almost 15 minutes before anyone came back to even get drinks for us, server took our order but didn't give us silverware until our food showed up. He basically disappeared until it was time to pay, another server came by to give us drink refills. I hope it was his first day but if not, insanely disappointing experience.

My friend and I order the following food: 1. Paris Texas Platter (12.99) 2. Eggs Benedict (13.99) 3. Short Stack of pancakes (8.49) 4. Seasonal Fresh Fruit (3.99) Total should be $39.46. I added 20% tipping (7.89) Then, I came home and saw I was charged $56.75. They didn't give me a printed nor online receipt.

Maybe it's my fault for getting a burger at a breakfast place but that patty was absolutely horrendous. Their description says "natural Texas wagyu patties" but had the consistency of dirt? Queso also came out cold. However, the onion rings weren't too bad, and the server was really nice!

Whenever we go to Austin we always plan one meal at Kerbey Lane! Great options for everyone- vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, keto, low fat... you can find something! We look forward to their gluten free pancakes and vegan queso- delicious!

What a cute place! Big, open, family friendly (there's a playground). It's a little challenging to find but worth it. We started with chips and the original queso which was great. Then I had the chicken fried chicken platter. So much food! Tip: dip the broccoli in the queso! The staff was friendly- especially our server AJ who seemed to be in constant motion to check on everyone. He refilled our chips and drinks without us asking. We'll definitely be back!

Nice service, solid food, great WiFi. I come here when I need to eat something protein rich (grilled buffalo chicken sandwich!) and need to get some work done while killing time. Outdoor seating is always a plus

We were quoted 10 minutes to sit outside. After 45 minutes we were still not seated. They were letting empty table sit open and sitting large parties ahead of us, because they were large. I get the hostess are young, but I really feel like they need better training.

Walked in for a late lunch. Not sure what that smell is but it quickly prompted me to walk down the street for some 2 Star Tex-Mex. This is probably an isolated event and not an accurate or fair review of Kerby Lane.

We frequently order from this cafe via UberEats and enjoyed stopping in this evening for dinner. The menu has plenty of healthy options and is very reasonably priced. The cafe has a cafeteria vibe, which is fine with a busy kid in tow.

Fairly empty restaurant on a Wednesday morning, fork had caked on food when we sat down, table was sticky, servers repeatedly walked by us to never acknowledge us, we were seated 25 minutes and no one took our drink order when the restaurant was fairly empty. I wish this review was for the food but sadly we couldn't even try it. Only plus side was the host who sat us was incredibly friendly, bumping this up to 2 stars. Love other Kirby Lane locations but will avoid this one.

Glass entry door filthy with finger prints. Menu filthy-stuck to my hand. It had food all over it. Stuck on food on side plate for sharing. Tried to slide water glass to my mom & it stuck on syrup on the table. We went on a Monday morning around 9:00. It was not busy at all. Male that appeared to be the manager just stood around talking to staff and eating by the kitchen window. There was plenty of staff not busy that could clean. Food was great as always but I can't go back to this location.

Wonderful restaurant!! Food was delicious, nice cozy ambience, and fast, reliable service (Bella was my server). Highly recommend eating here, always a classic!

Austin original in a different location. It's my opinion that it is difficult to make a bad queso but Kerbey Lane takes queso to a new level! The Cowboy Queso? Yes please! The breakfast plates are good and the plates are full. The price is right and the service is perfect. What's your favorite? This place probably has it. Enjoy, be patient and enjoy the food.

Food was very delectable but service was unbelievably horrible. Me and my wife were excited to try Kerbey Lane but clearly we chose the worst location. We are sad that our romantic weekend outing had to be heavily affected by such oblivious and careless staff members. It was not even busy only 2 other families here at the time but we were ignored our entire dinner and were never given water after requesting for it 4 times. waiter finally acknowledged us by slapping down a check which was not even accurate to our order. upside is we recieved a full refund but only after 20 minutes of waiting one last time to receive a water. Cheers!

Okay so I've been to tons of Kerbey lane locations over several years and I love Kerbey. I do think they vary a little location to location. For the Westlake location, it's never been super packed when I've gone, but the last few times they have been a little short staffed. This visit though, I met my sister there for dessert. The only thing we ordered was the brownie sundae. It had brownie, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate syrup. It was delicious and huge. We ate about half and then my sister took the rest home for our parents. 10/10 would get this brownie again!!

The coffee was quite weak. The meal was underwhelming. We ordered the seasonal French toast and chicken waffles. The toast was mushy with excessive sweetness, and the waffles came with a spicy sauce that tastes strange. The entire place also has a strong odour of cleaning products.

We were really disappointed with our stay here. We brought our out of town siblings here after we did a nice hike and thought it would be fun to bring them to a Austin staple breakfast. Unfortunately, it was not good. My brother-in-law had the buffalo chicken and waffles. He hated them and didn't even finish. He even said he should have thought twice when it said "buffalo" since that would be odd on a waffle... I had just the normal traditional breakfast and it was extremely simple down to the bread. Nothing was special and didn't feel like I was eating at anything nice. I also had the biscuits and gravy and the biscuit was hard and extremely dense without any fluff. My wife had the pancakes and eggs and the pancakes also did not have any touch to it and was very very basic. The only thing we really honestly enjoyed was the queso, which we had at the very beginning and were thinking the rest of the breakfast was going to be as good as that... Was not a fan.

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner--you can't wrong go wrong with pancakes. And the pancakes here are flippin' awesome! There's a reason Kerbey Lane is an Austin classic. Move over IHOP. I had the seasonal lemon poppyseed pancake with added cinnamon swirl and glaze (no extra charge). It was sweet, fluffy perfection. A single pancake (only $4) was HUGE, more than enough for my meal. Only complaint was that our waiter was quite inattentive, and it was hard to get my water refilled. Still, if you're looking for delicious and cheap diner food, come to Kerbey.
