Kerbisher & Malt

Awful. Great six months ago but is terrible now. Chips dry and undercooked, definitely not double cooked as advertised. And if you want mayo, bring your own. Fish was greasy and the mushy peas were like concrete.

Fish and chips in the States is oily and heavy but K&M know how to do it right. The battery is light, crunchy, and fresh like the fish. And the chips? Crunchy and soft! Mushy peas - the family was diggin' them totally. Apparently there's two ways to have your fish-cod or haddock. We loved the haddock-flaky, juicy, but the cod was pretty amazing, too. I think it's K&M doing fish right that made both yummy. Hey, can you guys open one in the States? Many thanks for great fish and chips!

The Chips and Mushy Peas are very nice! The staff are friendly, the place is clean and they have good options for the beers and wine. The fish options are all white fish and the batter is fluffy, they will also grill the fish if you prefer. Would be 5 stars if they had more fish options!!!

(East Sheen) Been waiting for a decent Fish + Chip shop in East Sheen for a very long time, and after visiting Kerbisher And Malt today it seems the wait will continue. Very much hyped so expected much yet was extremely disappointed. Fish was really very tiny, covered in a stringy piece of wafer `batter` and we actually had trouble finding any substantial fish content beneath the horribly dry overcooked chips thrown on top. Sausage in batter wasn`t any better as the small sausages (finger length) were all badly undercooked this time with inedible rubbery skin around the edges of two of the three we ordered. The entire `meal` was heavily overpriced for the poor quality and meagre portions. At the end of the ordeal we all agreed this was the worst fish and chips any of us had ever experienced. The décor etc may be fine, but the food is not even average, it`s bad. Also didn`t help having the girl who took our order constantly complaining about how bloody bored she was having to listen all day to the depressing piped music and how when it`s slow customer-wise she can`t stand to be there blah blah blah. Bad food and a bad experience.

After finding the restaurant listed my daughter and I went to Kerbisher & Malt in East Sheen yesterday evening and had a fantastic meal. Although listed as a fish restaurant Kerbisher & Malt serve great salads and vegan Falafels which my daughter had with a pile of hot steaming traditional chunky chips. Strictly low carbs, I had delicious grilled fish and a substantial salad complete with fresh pomegranate seeds - yum I thought the menu prices were very reasonable - even better with the gourmet society offer!! Oh and the staff were friendly and helpful too - Overall I highly recommended a visit.

Got delicious fish and chips from here, even if they are at a premium price if compared to traditional fish and chip shops. It's basically like a posh fish and chips restaurant where you can either take out or eat in. They are open all day too which is very convenient.

Just bought a chip butty from the East Sheen shop (Friday lunchtime) and it was awful!..the chips were hard and overcooked and the bread had no butter!. This is not a proper chipie..if you like small portions of badly cooked food but served in a nice well decorated environment than this is the place for you and not the proper chip shop across the road!.

An excellent addition to Sheen's many restaurants. Love the matzo meal instead of batter on fish, crispy and light. Ignore the carping comments, probably put up jobs from rivals. All our fam and friends enjoy.
