Michigan’s Most Iconic Coney Island Diners | Eater Detroit

"Another branch of the Keros family tree, Kerby’s Koney Island was founded by four Keros brothers, who opened their first location in 1968 at the Tel-Twelve Mall in Southfield. The name Kerby’s derives from the Keros Brothers. The menu at this chain offers a little something for everyone with the classic coney and Greek fare, as well as breakfast, burgers, soups, and salads." - Serena Maria Daniels

I drove through the drive thru to place my order. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and fries. I had not had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich in a while and I had a serious craving for one. This Philly cheesesteak was like no other cheesesteak I have ever tried. This Philly cheese steak was awful. I just did not understand this sandwich. Even before I took a bite a knew from the smell that the recipe was off. I believe they used red onions. I am a fan of red onions but not in Phillys. One bite and done. And the fries were fries. To redeem my tastebuds the very next day, I went to a Coney Island in the hood and became instantly satisfied. I don't eat at coney Islands often but I see that coney islands have become pricey in my opinion. I live in the suburbs and Kerby is a suburban coney island. A suburban coney island without flavor swag. "Meh". I've bought food from here in the distant past and the food and service from here has always been just ok.

I ordered the 7.49 breakfast special. The young lady with the braids took my order, I did not like her customer service. The food very mediocre. This place did have good food, now it's very plain. Oh and my grits were not completely done 🤨

We were in and ordered first and the people that sat behind us got their food before us. One black lady left because it was taking too long. And I do believe they take the waitress's tips. "Don't worry, I will get it" the man said. Smh

Worst food and service I've ever experienced. Waitress brought the barely edible food and never came back to the table never even brought the bill. If I could leave 0 stars I would. What a waste of time and money!

Chicken Tenders awesome. Best ones I've had to date. Nice & crispy outside. Juicy inside. My partner had The Greek Salad. Loved the Chicken on it But The Chickpeas on it He didn't like. Tasted like out of a can. We also had a new employee. 1st day. Kudos to him. Unfortunately didn't get his name. He was very good/helpful on it being his 1st day.

I had cones that were 2 for $4 dollars. The hot dogs for high quality in the bones were fresh. However, the best service i have had in a long time.

This is my Tuna melt, they literally gave me tuna on one side of sandwich and this how the other side look. Also, I ordered a BLT w/fried egg and the put bacon pieces on my sandwich. Fatty broken pieces and thick tomatoes…. I went back to get a new sandwich and yet they(the kitchen) must not understand very well, cause I got the same kind of sandwich back. I will not be returning to this location. I cannot wait til the Northwestern Hwy location open back up. VERY DISSAPPOINTED WITH MY ORDER.

Food was very good. The waitresses were very friendly. Had an extremely rude customer that sat behind our table and the waitress handled it VERY well!!!
