Michigan’s Most Iconic Coney Island Diners | Eater Detroit

"Another branch of the Keros family tree, Kerby’s Koney Island was founded by four Keros brothers, who opened their first location in 1968 at the Tel-Twelve Mall in Southfield. The name Kerby’s derives from the Keros Brothers. The menu at this chain offers a little something for everyone with the classic coney and Greek fare, as well as breakfast, burgers, soups, and salads." - Serena Maria Daniels

I drove through the drive thru to place my order. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and fries. I had not had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich in a while and I had a serious craving for one. This Philly cheesesteak was like no other cheesesteak I have ever tried. This Philly cheese steak was awful. I just did not understand this sandwich. Even before I took a bite a knew from the smell that the recipe was off. I believe they used red onions. I am a fan of red onions but not in Phillys. One bite and done. And the fries were fries. To redeem my tastebuds the very next day, I went to a Coney Island in the hood and became instantly satisfied. I don't eat at coney Islands often but I see that coney islands have become pricey in my opinion. I live in the suburbs and Kerby is a suburban coney island. A suburban coney island without flavor swag. "Meh". I've bought food from here in the distant past and the food and service from here has always been just ok.

Worst food and service I've ever experienced. Waitress brought the barely edible food and never came back to the table never even brought the bill. If I could leave 0 stars I would. What a waste of time and money!

We were in and ordered first and the people that sat behind us got their food before us. One black lady left because it was taking too long. And I do believe they take the waitress's tips. "Don't worry, I will get it" the man said. Smh

I had cones that were 2 for $4 dollars. The hot dogs for high quality in the bones were fresh. However, the best service i have had in a long time.

The man at the counter didn't give my full change back and he shrugged it off since it was only a few cents, even though I specifically asked for the rest of my change. This man seems to be stealing money, I bet he does it often. Other than that, my server, Angela, was lovely and the food was great.

Chicken Tenders awesome. Best ones I've had to date. Nice & crispy outside. Juicy inside. My partner had The Greek Salad. Loved the Chicken on it But The Chickpeas on it He didn't like. Tasted like out of a can. We also had a new employee. 1st day. Kudos to him. Unfortunately didn't get his name. He was very good/helpful on it being his 1st day.

BEWARE… FAKE FOOD possibly… I am a regular customer … I am sooo disappointed with my meal… I order a huge breakfast meal for my family, once I open the food it smelled badly.. the pancakes were rubbery. tasteless, and smelt awful.. I have never seen a pancake as rubbery and tasteless as the ones that was served to me,,, I order a feta omelette. That was also not good at all. This is unusual for Kirby But I know the prices of food has gone up tremendously, and I know people are trying to cut corners.. I honestly believe my pancakes were fake And not made from the original recipe they have lost A lot of customers… I do not trust eating there ever again, which is sad Because my family and I did enjoy eating there Once upon a Time, but we also have noticed the food quality has definitely declined

Wife and i come here because the food is better prepared than most coneys in the area, but waiting staff has gradually fallen off over the last 6 months or more, place is "Always" clean and kept, and prices are excellent....
