Kerby's Koney Island

We had such a good experience here! The restaurant was very clean, our waitress (Ashlyn) was very helpful and attentive and the food was delicious (especially for the price). I got the chicken lemon rice soup with coleslaw and a Greek salad. Everything was very fresh and yummy. We also got mozzarella sticks and it was a very generous portion. We didn't have to wait long for the food or our check. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't yet!

I came in to pick up a Togo order and the whole staff ignored me, but they helped the two white gentleman in front of me. Then when I finally was acknowledged the young lady had an attitude and said she thought I was “helped “ already! Then I still bought the food only for it to be ice cold! After making me wait 20minutes ignoring me when the order was sitting on the counter!!!!! I will never go back! And if your colored I would never step foot in this place!

one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been to, PERIOD. the food was very good. the service was very good. this should be the model Kirby's Koney Island. I would go out of my way, and pass 10 other Coney restaurants to come to this one.

(Update 10/13/2024) The dinner meal promotion is very good. The food is actually good and the price is more than reasonable. I added a cup of bean soup on top of the dinner meal. And the service is consistently good. (Original in early 2024) It is a little aging coney island but the level of the service and food is consistent. I have been dining there for a long time including during the COVID-19 period, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They keep good servers and the atmosphere is genuinely lively.

A nice coney in Troy off of Crooks. Came here for a late breakfast in a weekend morning. The staff were very friendly and fast, the food came out super fast too. It's very clean and spacious inside, looks like your typical Michigan coney but a nice one. The food was good, no complaints. Will come here again.

Host told my mom and I to sit by the window and we waited 20 minutes and nobody came to take our drink order. Restaurant wasn't busy and there wasn't a waitress in sight. We left and the host said "have a nice day" not realizing she only just seated us. Definitely wouldn't come back

We celebrated all our family’s fall birthdays here on Saturday around 1:30. Helen was very helpful, attentive and accommodating. Unlike some waitstaff when helping a large group she smiled and seemed relaxed and capable. My cousins got the chicken wrap sandwich and raved about it! I had a small Cobb Salad. It was mostly good with lots of big Bleu Cheese chunks BUT the chicken was tough and gristly. We had 12 people and we didn’t have to wait at all. I was pleased they even took a reservation! The table was set and ready for us when we arrived. The only thing that would have made it better is if they had a big round table. It was impossible to visit with any but those right near us. But I realize they can’t help that as they don’t have those kinds of tables. Thanks Kerby’s for a fun day!

Stopped in for lunch with a party of 14 with six kids. We were seated promptly in the back section. The manager was friendly and our server was quite good. She brought out cups with lids and straws for all the kids and made sure the kids food came out first. Kerbys has your standard diner food with Greek influence. I went with combo 2, coney island dogs and curly fries as it is Detroit style coneys. Detroit style has cinnamon in its chili and it's smoother. It was pretty tasty and the curly fries were nice. Overall good was pretty good and service as well. Inside it was a bit nostalgic as they had a claw machine as well as coin vending machines with little toys in the plastic containers.

Good fòod met all my expectations. Fast, efficient, friendly service. A great neighborhood stop, roomy, and never had to wait to be seated.

Well run with excellent service. Good diner food.. Prices reasonable. Coney was delicious.

Great fast breakfast spot except there's something weird tasting with the hash browns? It tasted like mildly burnt oil. Unfortunately this was the second time the hash browns tasted weird. Everything else seemed fine. Service and staff were great.

Screwed up carry out order. Found out after I got it home to the family. Of course the bag was stapled up nice and tight so I made the mistake of thinking everything was there. Checked the bill on the bag to verify all items. Never again.

I honestly wouldn't feed this to my dog if I had one... I'll never eat here again. Food quality is gross

Used to love coming to this location, then we stopped coming for a while the last couple of years, since the restaurant looked dirty and unkempt. Tried it again for old times sake the other day and was glad with our experience--it was just like the old days! Had an excellent and very friendly waitress; food was hot and ready fast--on our table within 10 mins of ordering! All of my food was tasty (the breakfast meat a little over cooked); Mom loved her spinach and feta omelette! If it continues to look and function like this we'll be return customers again!

This is the best Kerby's in the area. In fact it is the best Coney Island because the service is fast. Spiro and his management team run a tight ship. There are Tuesday two fors and Wednesday kids specials. I love the baby yero and Greek salad but the bean soup is terrific.

Originally from Michigan so try to hit koney island when back in town. Did not disappoint!!! Our waitress was SO nice and amazing!!! Food was just as great as I imagined! Always a classic! It's also extremely affordable for everything you get! Its all so good!!

My wife's chicken yero was not seasoned as usual, and quite bland. The spinach pie got smaller, hardly any spinach & was also bland, rather tasteless. The bean soup was too salty, French fries were soggy & cold. The coneys were good & the curly fries were crispy & tasty, however the rest of the meal was poor quality. Maybe, it was because it was a carry out, because I usually eat in, but I'm less than a mile away. I'm not ready to eat out yet because of the pandemic so I'll probably try one more carry out before I make a definitive decision on this Kerbys. Too bad, I had such good meals here in the past. This place is totally checked out. Dead. Nobody wants to be working here. You can see it in their demeanor. Fries came out raw. Server never checked on us to see if we needed anything. Soup was spilled all over the plate upon arrival. Drink refill never came.

Super clean and very friendly workers. There are lots of choices to choose from on the menu and breakfast is available all day. Food portions are large and reasonably priced. I really enjoy the lemon rice soup, veggies omelets, and Greek salads. Very fast service for both dining in and carryout orders compared to other local delis. A little busy around 11:30am-1:00pm but that is expected around lunch time. I prefer coming here over the National Coney Island chains. Never had a bad meal here.

Chicken in sandwich was dry, overcooked and so tough it could not be cut with a knife and fork. Ingredients in sandwich, primarily tomatoes were mushy and well past freshness.

Kerby's is the best diner food you'll find! They have a great menu for breakfast, you can even order a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, Biscuit, or muffin I thought that was very convenient for something quick and easy. They also have amazing sausage gravy. The manager is very helpful and supportive of his staff, he was constantly moving around helping anyway he could and I thought that was great to see. If you are tired of diner food or eating expensive breakfasts shoot over to Kerby's they have it all!

This Koney is hoppin all the time. Very busy but efficient. Love that they have specials and sign up for their texts as they send updates and discounts. The salads are awesome and take out is available you can call ahead or they will take your order onsite and quickly get it ready for you. You can also by the fabulous Greek dressing at this site.

Yes. Just go. Certainly worth it. The long review: I know when I stopped in, it was late in the evening on a weekday. However, it was almost barren. I really would have expected more regulars in. That said, that made SERVICE for myself very quick. The ladies that made up the Servers and Hostess were on the ball. Very friendly, courteous and quick. The food is not going to set the world on fire. However, for the price bracket that they working, it was very good. My gyros were outstanding. The quantity of food was very good for the price. Dessert items were spectacular. I find it hard to go wrong here. When I am back in this area, I certainly will be back.

Menu has zero vegan options other than French fries. This is a popular spot for my family to come for breakfast and I would love to join them sometime. Would love to see a vegan pancake or option for the breakfast menu!

Bummed out this place used to be good. However the past few times I've been here the servers are not very professional and the food has not been good. Today stopped in and the place was empty the servers were all sitting around and so I just sat myself after someone yelled across the room to sit anywhere!! I ordered immediately and the server didn't even bring me the correct order!! Are you kidding me .... on top of it all the food was cold. The server had zero customer service skills and dropped the bill at table and that was it!!

This Kerby's Coney Island is exactly what you would expect from a Kerby's. It's cleaner than the one south of it, the prices are right, and you can get your gyro or breakfast in the middle of the day craving taken care of. The location is kind of tucked back in the back corner of a strip mall. It's usually quiet--the times I have been here, there are usually about 4-5 other tables with customers at them. The waitstaff is friendly. Food is nothing gourmet but does the trick.

Whenever I go to the Detroit area I always stop in and it's always delicious. Three dogs heavy mustard and chili no I'm in a Greek salad and Coke no ice!

As a lifelong Metro Detroiter and vegan, I would love to see Kerby's add vegan versions of Koney Island classics to their menu. A vegan coney dog would be awesome, as would vegan chili fries. C.M.O. (Chili Mustard Onions) in Detroit has excellent vegan coney options - the possibilities are delicious! I hope to try similar vegan classics at Kerby's soon.

First of all don't cal it a meat lovers omelette when there's hardly any meat in the damn thing. Chipped up p into tiny bits. Not even halt a sausage or half a strip of bacon altogether!!! Great waitress though.

Better bring a food taster with you just in case.

my family and i have been going to this kerbys for years. the staff is super friendly and the food is so good. typically i get the greek salad, sometimes i'll swap it for a grilled cheese. either way i know i'm leaving satisfied and full! whether you're looking for a quick place to sit and eat or a carry out, this place has it all!

We've been coming here for years and my family along with most of the students at Troy High love Kerbys. The weekday breakfast special prices are awesome, the Kirby melt is awesome, the soups are so good. Honestly it's the best lunch, post- school, post-football spot around. We also have been doing to-go food for most of the pandemic and rarely have issues.

At our latest monthly real estate meeting here and we were just getting started but a few extra people showed up. We ordered and then proceeded to rearrange the tables to accommodate everyone. Our server, Rachael, was a real pro and everyone got what they ordered; and our coffee cups never got empty. Good food, good prices, and great, experienced people on staff. Come in, order, and relax!

This is probably the worst experience I ever had!! Food was cold. Manager had a attitude with our complaint! Hash browns cold. Meat undercooked! Not prepared for Sunday breakfast. Manager insulted my family. Our family just wanted to meet for breakfast before going to the cemetery! Thanks for ruining everything! Manager should be fired!

We had a nice meal at this restaurant tonight. We were a party of 7 and the waitress had no trouble managing all of us. The food was fine for a Coney Island restaurant. My kerbys melt was good, and my husbands omelette was a hit. The only downside was the fries, which were bland and just eh. We would come back.

Good simple breakfast. Specials end at 11am. Pancakes were really good. Sausage links were nice and big, and eggs were cooked perfectly to your liking. I've been coming here for years -- great spot!

With this being one of the few places in close proximity to my job. I come here for lunch pretty often. The staff is always nice and the food is delicious!

It's A-Ok coney! This isn't meant as a bad thing, because it isn't. My food has always been good here, and so has my service. I haven't really had better coney island else where, but I have had worse. While it's just average like all others in what is pretty much a hardcore Michigan only thing (the coney island restaurant that is), i give four stars to this location. I've had their omelets, their skillets, the chilli, the soups, the fish sandwich, the chicken finger pita, it goes on and on. I haven't really had any of the appetizers, but their spinach pie and curly fries are very good. The spinach pie has those layers of flaky filo, and a generous portion of spinach and whatever cheese they use to hold it together resides inside. it's run very well IMO at least from the customers perspective. I work just across the street, and come in at least every other week during lunch. This is a large coney compared to many others, with a ton of seating. They sit, and turn tables with quickness. Take out can be accessed at its own counter near the kitchen, and through a side door. It's quiet efficient for traffic flow during lunch rush.

I appreciate salad options, especially when many fast food chains are eliminating them. It would be awesome to see a few extra vegan options added like a vegan hotdog, corndog, veggie wrap, etc.

Fast service but every single time I call a carryout, whoever is on the phone is rude. Chicken santorini salad is amazing. Ask for extra feta. Can't beat the combos.

This clean, open and bright facility is a great place to enjoy a light meal. Good selection of coney dogs and other light sandwiches. The food is not "gourmet" by any means, but it is tasty and reasonably priced. Our server, Alexia, provided fast and efficient service, the kind we've come to expect from a place like this.

I just ordered from the Crooks Kerby's via Uber eats. It was a large order. I made the mistake of not checking the order before the driver left. We were missing a salad, but received a second sandwich that we didn't order. We also received chili cheese fries rather than cheese fries. I thought that by calling the restaurant I could easily resolve the issue. A woman answered the phone. I told her we were missing items from an Uber order and was asked to hold. This is where things went downhill. I am assuming she placed the phone on a counter, because I could hear a woman in the background yelling that there was no way that the order could be incorrect, because she checked everything, and if something was missing that the Uber driver must have taken it. This went on for a couple of minutes. Then the first woman came back to the phone and asked me to wait while she got a manager. I assume she placed the phone back on the counter because then I heard a third voice, this time a male, and the second woman was yelling again about how the order was correct. After listening to this go on for several minutes, a woman finally came back to the line. I immediately explained the issue was that we were missing a salad. She was extremely rude and condescending. She informed me, in no uncertain terms, that there was no way the order was incorrect. She interrupted and spoke over me several times, saying the same things that I overheard while I was "holding" earlier. I was told that sometime between me placing the order and them receiving the order it must have "changed". I was then told that in order to receive the correct items, I needed to contact Uber. At that point, I had given up. Kerby's obviously doesn't want my business. Nor do they apparently trust Uber Eats, with whom they do business.

The original....Kerby's Koney Island.... Food was pretty decent as far as Coney's go...prices were a little steep...$9 for two coneys, side of fries (small side..hrmph) and a large drink...ehhhh.... My sister recognized the owner from the original KKI that was inside Lakeside Mall back in the day, that everyone and their Mother went to... Service was customary It hit the spot.... Isn't that it's job? Cool beans!

Came in to support the business. Was seated immediately- however there was only about 4 other customers seated and 3 waitresses who all seemed to be just walking ans one was answering calls. I sat for 5 minutes and no one came. As I was getting up- the gentleman who seated me asked me to not leave and went and got one of the waitresses. She then came over and asked me what I wanted not so pleasantly. I still ordered because I was starving and left her a 20% tip with also a written tip to be more pleasant and have a great day.

Met a friend for lunch. At unheart smart 2 coneys today - planet fitness here I come!. Coneys were good. Service so- so . Seemed like an imposition to ask for refill on pop.

Very good restaurant. The food was excellent. Our waitress, Paige was super friendly and efficient. She was also super friendly to my young children. The food came fast and was great. I recommend this Kerby's.

We stopped in for breakfast this past Sunday right after they opened and it was good. I had a western omelette and my wife had an egg white veggie omelette. Our son had some pancakes and sausage links. Everything was good-delicious and warm and our waitress was awesome. She was sweet, attentive and friendly and the bathroom was clean too. The only issue with our visit was the high chair was filthy-sticky and gross, but we will still come back for the breakfast.

Worst Greek salad with chicken I've had in a long time. Mostly all lettuce, fetta cheese has no flavor, dressing is very bland. I asked for light on onion and Extra beets. What I got was, No beets, no yellow peppers or any pepper. Chicken was good but very small amount. Used to get a good salad at Kerby's, not anymore. At $10.12 - a total flop, won't go there again.

I go here primarily for the bean soup, which is offered everyday. It's the best in town! The pitas are pretty good too as is the spinach pie appetizer.

This place is amazing. Great staff and the cashier at the front is so pleasant all the time. The food was great and I love coming here.
