Went to the farmers market on ming today. While walking by this booth, my friends daughter slipped, fell, and ruined her clothes in a mixture of honey and water. The lady at the stand knew it was there, and didn't place a wet floor sign out or block it off or anything. My friends daughter could have been seriously injured and the lady showed no remorse. When you run a business, indoor or outdoor you need to stay vigilant. The lady said, "we don't have a mop or anything". My friend said, "you should at least put up a sign or block it off so someone else doesn't get hurt then". The lady interrupted her several times saying, "okay, thanks bye". The lady was rude and she did nothing to rectify the situation. I heard this place is overpriced, but I was going to check it out anyways. But when you have that kind of attitude when someone falls in front of your stand, due to a mess you said was "there for hours" and you "thought it would be dry by now", that's all I need to know about you and your business. Save your money and you time, and literally shop anywhere else.

Your prices are way to high. Use to recommend. No more! Allow customers buy 1 jar , your pushy rude people.

Literally my favorite sandwich in town! I recommend it 100 percent! They're not only a grocery store they have all the vitamins you could dream of! As mentioned before, the food court is amazing. They have so many options, but the sandwich is by far the tastiest. The lovely folks here always give you extra turkey and extra avocado to make my sandwich nice, chubby, and enticing!

The employees and supervisor/s at Lassen's need a HUGE wake-up call - and I am more than willing to give it. Here's why: How would ANY long-time customer feel when going in to their once-most FAVORITE health-food store - to experience rudeness, dishonesty, filthy uncared for neglected women's facilities, lack of once-well stocked items, and virtually no employee help on the floor in the vitamin section to assist in locating what you came for in the first place! Does this not beg the question: Why should I bother to go back? Why? When asked why Lassen's no longer carries goat yogurt, the young female employee said "we don't stock items that don't sell" - Quite amusing. Perhaps the truth is "We cannot sell items we do not stock!" They ALWAYS carried goat yogurt - the most delicious kind on the market - and not cheap - and we always purchased it there. To add to the list of insults, leaving the filthy neglected women's room, I happened to literally run in to a supervisor attempting to enter whilst I was exiting. I stopped her (blonde-haired woman in pony tail) and stated, "Excuse me, but with all due respect - and PLEASE do NOT take offense to this, would you have a bathroom door like this in your home?" To which her immediate reply was "This is not my home. I do not live here." Shocked, my reply was "Oh, but you most certainly do! You represent Lassen's by working here (by which the workplace is everyone's home away from home) and then she looked away - thinking - and said 'I'll take care of it!" And I said "I meant absolutely no offense" and she replied "None taken - none taken!" When I left, a very kind young gentleman "Kozy" asked if I had found everything I needed? My reply was "No." And I used the "F" word to exclaim the disgusting conditions (and to coin someone else's phrase) of their GHETTO-like women's facilities. He stated, "Oh I'm sorry. I've never been in there..." which is most obvious that whomever has been in the women's restroom does not care one single little bit about its condition, appearance, cleanliness, available necessary paper goods or even the damn door knob. What truly amazes me is the gross lack of simple CARE for the building and what its title says "Lassen's Natural Foods and Vitamins..." because this IS NOT the way LASSEN'S is in San Luis Obispo, CA or other stores of theirs in other towns I have visited. NO WAY. At this location - a "HEALTH FOOD STORE" IS - PERHAPS - GOING TOO FAR.

Used to love this place. Sadly it has gone downhill. It was filthy everywhere... Smoothies took 35 min and were mediocre. Breakfast burrito is basically just a fried egg in a tortilla. Not worth the money.

I went to Lassens Natural Foods yesterday. Because of my weight I have changed my diet. I had went to Walmart, Albertsons and Vons and could not find what I was looking for. Looked up Vegan food stores on Yelp and found Lassens. First, the people there are very friendly. They also have a tiny Cafe like area that sells Vegan options. There is a whole area that has Vegan foods and they had what I was looking for. The atmosphere is relaxed in the store and it is very clean. Not only does Lassens sell Vegan, but they also have healthy foods for all tastes. Most of what I saw was Organic, Healthy and Holistic. I highly recommend Lassens if you are looking for better foods.

I finally found my local health food store! I had been searching since I moved to the area for something like this and Bam I found it today! I am not a fan of Sprouts or other grocery stores that pretend that they are health food stores when they don't sell fresh Produce and only sell vitamins, etc. This is like a co-op and has everything you would expect from a natural food store and more! Really friendly and helpful staff. Great produce section with fresh veggies at affordable prices. A great wellness section with helpers at every turn, pointing things out that I needed. I am so happy to know this store exists in Bakersfield!

It saddens me to say lassens is slowly going downhill. They stopped carrying multiple brands of vegan chips I enjoy, the hot food bar had flies hovering around it, and the worker who had "baby" tattooed on his neck is high key rude. Don't even bother saying thank you he'll just give you a mm-hmm and stare at you.

I come here all the time. I bought some things around 8, you guys close at 9 & the girl at the front told me the bathroom was "closed." Ridiculous .

I found my multivitamin green powder cheapest here. Always smells so good inside this store. I enjoy the food made here. The lavender bath salts smell so good and all naturally healthy.

I was getting a smoothie from the deli and had to pay at the front counter before picking it up. As I checked out the new employee, Kaylah was being trained by Omar. I congratulated her and both were friendly and professional in the same instant. I recommend Lassens for anyone wanting good customer service and great healthy alternatives.

I tried the green smoothie at Lassen's, and I was really impressed! It tasted super fresh and wasn't overly grassy very tasty!

Costumer Service- the cashier told me my milk was open but rang it up anyways and didn't ask me if I wanted it that way or offer to replace it. I was busy with the transaction I didn't notice she went ah and charged me for it and we took it home. I imm took it back , when I approached her about it she acted as though there was a crime and didn't want to admit anything; not even ringing us out. Why? $200 worth of groceries and that's the service you get... So sad

Hot food bar, different days different culture foods. Fresh deli, juice and salad bar and the creamiest , smoothest smoothies. Peanut butter power with chocolate milk yumm! Love the variety of loose leaf teas and roots. So many health driven products. I drive over an hour to make my lassens natural food and vitamin store trip: week long sales with bogos, some 50% off. Love this store with the location in Fresno was still open.

Customer service is awful. Their fresh produce is not always fresh. An example is their organic carrots which are limp. Never had a good avocado from this store. Good supply of vitamins with good prices is the only reason I bother going there.

I like this place and go here regularly. I had an issue with the shopping bags. Two weeks ago, while carrying my groceries to my front door, one bag broke in the walkway. I let that on slide. However, I went to the store today (7/8/24) and shopped, but this time while loading the bags into my car one bag completely tore apart. I was frustrated and went back into the store to tell the cashier, she gave me another one. Now, when I go home and go to pick up one of my grocery bags and to move the other one over, both bags tore up. I was even more frustrated and decided to take pictures and write about my experience. Thankfully none of the groceries were damaged. Please continue to use quality bags since customers have to pay for them anyway.

I really like Lassens -- the feel of a small health food store and the wide array of gluten free options. Employees are usually friendly and helpful but I have one gripe which is why only 3 star rating. The people in the deli have gotten my sandwich order wrong the last three times I've been there. Lesson learned -- check your order before you leave the store! If you pay extra for avocado you aren't guaranteed to get it.

You're much better off at Albertsons. Everything is overpriced and security has nothing better to do than follow you around during your shopping experience. Albertsons has much better deals and they also have low/ zero calorie options for snacks.

I have gotten all my aromatherapy needs from laasens during the time I had to take hot baths for an injury, I was able to make all my bath oils for my healing the oils in very hot water aided in the very long healing process, but it was affordable and I'm on a fixed income, I still have all my oils about 30 or 40 of them and dident get them all from lassens some were gifted, but I study aromatherapy and when I was a beginner of using them, I got a good deal of them there, what ever I could afford 2or 3 bottles 5 dollars each or less sometimes, it helped start my oil collection from my aromatherapy book I used.

I love all things nature! Lassens has all the goodies for your cute lil body. I got my protein here and absolutely love it.

With the price of water in the machine jumping from 35 cents to 50 cents a gallon, I asked why? While the machine was down, bottled water was on the shelf for $1.29. It was on a pallet for $1.49. I straightened them out as best I could. Lassens is the most expensive place in town for just about everything. My water bill has not gone up. Why has purified water increased 40%? It's still cheaper than gasoline, but it's quite a price jump.

This place has everything! You want a vegan turkey they have it!, Apricot seeds...have it! Also they have done in and an awesome deli serving all sorts of hot, cold natural foods fresh! The only set back is pricing is HIGH! I don't mind the pricing as it's nice to get a fresh, healthy meal instead of a junk food drive through!

Very disappointed. We like to support smaller businesses to decided to give Lassen's in Bakersfield a try. Great selection of organic, natural, and health foods as well as hot bar. However, our experience with the product was dismal. Among other things we bought 3 avocados and 2 oranges, all organic. That night, we discovered all 3 avocadoes were rotten and black inside, despite feeling firm on the outside. Within 2 days, one orange had mold and the other was soft and rotting on top. That added up to quite a bit of money spent for nothing. Won't be going back.

I always enjoy shopping at Lassens. I love the great variety for people with dietary restrictions. My daughter eats a plant based diet due to health reasons and we are starting to lean towards that also. We are trying to head back in the direction of gluten free. This has been a little more difficult this go around. Lassens has such great options for healthy eating. I used to buy vitamins and different supplements here and when I did the customer service was amazing. They would spend as much time with you helping you make a decision. I only use Doterra now, so I don't really hit that section anymore. This visit we decided to eat from the hot/cold bar. Grab your container and add what looks good, vegan, gluten free options available. Be careful if you aren't wanting to spend a lot, it's 9.99 a pound, I did not feel I was adding a lot and my dinner was 14.39. My daughter had 4 things in her container and it came out to 11.39. The dinner was good, not 14.39 good. I would have rather had a shrimp dinner that includes salad and side dishes at my local favorite. We were looking for convenience and that's what you pay for. Lassens is a great place to shop, just be prepared to spend more because of specialty items.

This is my favorite store for many reasons. Although the mark up is a bit ridiculous on some items I still make my way over here quite often because they have items other places in town don't have. Like my almond milk with only 2 ingredients. Bulletproof items and hard to find supplements I really like to enjoy the hot deck for lunch (9.99 a pound I believe) I come on Wednesday and Saturday when hot mashed sweet potatoes are served. They also serve fresh pressed juices and smoothies. Make sure they don't over blend sometimes the banana turns out a little gummy like. I recently tried their rice ball which was delicious. If you're looking for a healthy alternative for lunch or dinner drop in I'm sure you will have a favorite in no time

I'm extremely disappointed. I don't come to this store often because it's expensive but I used to love occasionally stopping in for the gluten free offerings they had at their bakery section. I came by one day about 2 weeks ago to find they don't sell them anymore. All they had was a small selection of macarons and some chocolate tarts which are gluten free! Needless to say I was extremely disappointed! I certainly won't be coming by here again!

This market offers natural goods that are hard to find or sometimes not available at other places. I like the fresh and ripe produce here. Not one bad apple. The hot food are self serve with organic meat like cage-free chicken, carbs and outstanding salads. Self serve sampling not available nor encourage due to health reasons but it will taste just like it looks....delicious! Sandwiches are pre-made daily ready to go or it can be custom order if you don't mind waiting which can be busy during lunch hours. If they don't sell, the food are donated to the needy. Nothing seems wasted. The employees are very helpful and friendly with a smile. There is an area for dine in eating and the store is very clean overall. The prices are on the high side which is not unexpected like most healthy natural markets that leans towards keto and organic offerings. They also carry their own brand items throughout the store. Vitamins and supplements with high potency. The only thing I like to see is having the hand wipes available just outside of the door with a sign to encourage sanitation in order for us to wipe down the cart handles. It's currently inside with no signs and sometimes they are out and not readily replaced. If this simple task is done, it will get 5 stars from me. Still this market is wonderful that has charm. Its much needed in this city since there's no Wholefood and I personally like Lassens better.

I was really looking forward to one of their gluten free sandwiches, I used to really like them. I wanted ham n chedder on GF bread. Sadly they did not have ham, just turkey, nor real cheddar, only offered provolone, and despite my emphasizing three times that I wanted JUST the turkey and bread, JUST THE MEAT AND BREAD PLAIN, when I opened it there was mayonaise on the bread and bunch of lettuce and I guess baby rainbow carrots? Anyway I threw away all but the meat and wiped the yuck mayo off. When somebody says PLAIN and NOTHING BUT MEAT AND BREAD repeatedly, please try to listen. I would have been better off buying a GF loaf of bread and a package of meat.

I like Lassens. I used to have lunch here multiple times a week but lately it seems every day is some kind of bone in food item. There doesn't seem to be much more variety anymore. Please cut back on the bone in food, if possible. Wings are messy and people don't usually want to deal with the mess that comes with eating wings, on their lunch break because then they have to smell lunch on their fingers while working. Also, I know every day is a different theme. Could the menu be posted on your Instagram or something? I was told I could call to find out what is being served that day but a lot of times when I call, no one answers or I'm transferred multiple times and no one knows what's going on.

I absolutely love love love going into health food stores especially WholeFoods. I had never heard of this establishment before my visit. I grabbed a trolley just before I walked into Lassens; I was greeted upon entering and began to do my shopping. I had a list but still managed to grab a few things that were not there. I was super amazed at how much heathy stuff these aisles were packed with--I felt like a big kid in a candy store? Haha, I literally wanted everything lol. Wholesome produce, cheese made out of nuts, vegan treats, and so much more. They have a deli and fresh juice as most grocery stores have theses days. This was my first time in a Lassens and it won't be my last! Health is wealth!

Lassens has a nice store in Bakersfield with good selection. Most people are helpful there. Lately they've been hiring some low quality workers that need some training on customer service. They like to disappear when a customer has a question. The store is clean and has good prices on most items. I tried to ask one of the associates working on the supplements isle for help ordering a product and she told me that they didn't carry it anymore then she walked away like she was doing something else. Then I found the product on the shelf anyways after she scurried away. One of the guys up front tried to come help even though it wasn't his department. That was nice! It's probably hard to get decent help now days. Think the training manager isn't the most sharpest tool in the shed either. McDonald's, Wendy's, and other fast food chains are probably having the same problem with finding good help. Still like Lassens just been having to deal with some of these tards working there lately!

Lassens is a one stop store, and well organized, and always well stocked. Vitamins and supplements, Cosmetics, hair and bath products, aromatics Totes, accessories Cold juices and Dairy foods in the back, includes non-dairy items, such as plant based yogurt, goat yogurt, goat milk, oat milk and almond milk, etc. Frozen foods, delicious deli, groceries aplenty, baked goods, packaged and dispensed nuts and other. Produce is fresh and nicely presented. I have certain food sensitivities, and Lassens is where I can everything. The cheese section is up front. Quality assortment. I only eat goat cheese, or cheese from sheep. In most grocery stores I normally only find one or two brands, and they are super expensive. At Lassens the other day, I found so many different kinds of goat cheese, I had to buy almost one of everything! Service at checkout: clerks are extremely polite and friendly. During the summer, they offer ice at no cost for your grocery items. Did I mention the dark chocolate?

Hard Pass! On a roadtrip. Trying to support localgot a premade sandwich and almost choked because the organic bread was so dry. Literally could not swallow. Tomato looked a week old. Had to disassemble and pretty much just eat the turkey for $9.99. Bathroom was broke so employee sent me to....u guessed it, Panera across the parking lot. She should have sent me their before I bought this horrible sandwich. Go to panera.

I'm vegan/ plant based and prefer gluten-free food. They have all of that and more. It's almost like a mini Whole Foods which is GREAT! Also, great customer service. Very friendly workers.

I came in to Lassens for breakfast, but got lunch instead . I picked up a Chicken Caesar Salad based on the fact that it looked amazing and like something I couldn't live without . Not only does it look amazing, it smells and tastes amazing too . I also picked up snacks for later . That's the great thing about this store . You can get a great meal already made or pick up healthy options to make at home . The prices of course are different from big box stores, but you'll also find different brands from smaller companies, that offer you the variety you crave .

Love this store! Great variety of food and drinks. Also a great vitamins section, which should have anything you are looking for. Especially enjoy there fresh juice bar. Not a fan of the hot food items in the deli. The food almost always looks dried out. But otherwise, the store is great!

One of my go-to stores for my groceries and vitamins. I get all of my family's vitamins and health needs from Lassens. I love that they have the hot food bar area available and the juice/smoothie bar too.

Whenever I step foot into this market, I'm immediately greeted by employees. If I ever need assistance, there's usually someone nearby ready to help. If they don't have what I need in stock, they always offer to have it delivered to the store for me. Super sad they DC'd the lemonade I enjoy but they have many other options available. My favorite healthy food store in Bakersfield they have variety of grass-fed meats and cheese lk and organic fruits and veggies.

Oh my!! Shelves are nearly bare and their terrible attitude It's certainly not worth the trip. Makes me sad as this is the market I have come to for so long.

Horrible customer service, even after 9 months of the pandemic they will not reverse their return policy , their prices are double trader Joe and their signs are deceiving Save your bucks and feel safer shopping at trader Joe but I personally after the rude associate I dealt with today will never step a foot in this store
