I stayed at KēSa House and, while the location is fantastic, the soundproofing was a major issue. Every morning, I could hear the cleaning staff talking, the vacuum running, and doors opening and closing—all as if they were right next to me. It made it really difficult to get a proper rest. If you’re a light sleeper or looking for a quiet stay, this might not be the best choice. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the noise levels made it hard to fully enjoy my stay.

Pros: Great location between Chinatown and Maxwell. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cons: Really tiny rooms, could really only open 1 luggage at a time. Shower door doesn't close fully and have to be careful not to drench the dry area of the bathroom. Sound proofing is awful due to how close everything is, doors being slammed shut can be heard very clearly throughout the night and day. There's a vibration from either music or public transport system that vibrates through the whole room throughout the day and night. I would avoid if possible or only stay 1 night. M hotel is a better option with larger rooms and similar price point.

Great little boutique hotel located between Chinatown and Outram MRT. They allowed me to check in early which was helpful. Although the room was small it was designed very efficiently. Bed was comfy so slept well. Best part is free water filling station with some free snacks. So no need to purchase water during my stay. WiFi wasn’t the fastest but was able to stream movies with no issues. Lots of restaurants nearby. Would stay here again.

KēSa House offers a unique and charming experience in the heart of the city. The blend of heritage charm and modern elegance is evident throughout the property. I stayed in the attic-style room, and the skylight was a lovely feature, allowing natural light to brighten the space. The cozy patio and lounge areas were perfect for relaxing, providing a peaceful retreat from the city buzz. While my stay was overall very pleasant, I did notice a few areas for improvement, such as the availability of bathrobes and room slippers, which would have added an extra layer of comfort. That said, the staff was incredibly welcoming. KēSa House is definitely worth a visit!

We have stayed here twice now and we have loved it both times. Staff are excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. Beds are very comfortable. On this visit we were moved rooms as we need to be able to get out of both sides of the bed, not agile enough to climb over my partner. We will definitely stay here again on our way back to the UK. We love the area it's in, as wonderful cafés, bars and restaurants. Just has a lovely homely feeling about it, which is perfect for us.

* Pros (+): meticulously cleaned; great location in Chinatown but outside the hullabaloo, in a street of beautifully renovated shop houses; staff always helpful and flexible. We had to change rooms twice due to problems with the lights and later due to noise, and both times, all went smoothly. * Cons (-): TOO. MUCH. NOISE. And we were on the back side of the hotel where the noise was not coming from the bars in the street... In room 212, you hear and feel the MRT passing through your brain from 5.30am until past midnight. Then we moved to 202, due to the lights issue. It is next to the automatically locking door that connects the rooms to the common area. Every time someone was passing was like a slap in the face. The bathrooms of the neighboring rooms were also very noisy when in use. We decided to move back to the MRT adjoining room... The lesser of two evils? I guess not. The cherry on the cake: these guests who totally lack manners and respect towards others. We barely slept any of the 4 nights... I wouldn't go back honestly...

Fantastic boutique hotel in Chinatown. Easy check in with advanced reservations. Staff is extremely courteous and efficient. Three floors of rooms, with a communal kitchen area on the second floor if you need to prepare your own food. Coffee maker on the second floor as well as laundry facility. Be aware that at least some of the rooms do not have exterior windows so if you're claustrophobic you may want to clarify this when you make your reservation. Rooms are compact but very comfortable. I had an 'attic' room on the third floor. The only time it felt a little cramped was getting in and out of the shower. Everything else was very comfortable. Bed was large and linens crisp and clean. Storage space under the bed to slide your suitcase if you wish. Lighting controls and electrical outlets convenient to the bed. Room to hang clothes plus some drawers. A pull-down desk and stool for work use (not where you'd want to work for hours at a stretch but good enough to check in for a business Zoom meeting, etc.). Wi-fi reliable and strong. In-room safe. Glasses and a water heater in the room. I appreciated the in-room mini ironing board and iron. Television has a reasonable selection of a dozen stations or so, including HBO and CNN. Bathroom is tight but clean and stylish. All toiletry amenities provided along with shampoo and body wash for the shower. Towels are large and soft. Mirror didn't fog up when in the shower. My only complaint in the bathroom other than the awkwardness of getting in and out of the shower is that the single overhead recessed light in the bathroom made it difficult to shave as the light is directly overhead and your whole face and neck are in the shadows. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Definitely would stay here again!

We spent 6 days (01/16 to 01/21/2025) at KéSa House, 55 Keong Saik Rd., Singapore. This hotel is ideally located close to Chinatown, with many bars and amenities on the adjacent streets. Contacts with staff, both at reception and for housekeeping, are very pleasant and cordial. They are always available to help you (call a taxi, advice, providing an umbrella, etc.). By taxi, the hotel is about twenty minutes from the airport We had room 224, which faces the back of the hotel. We hear a little music coming from a bar across the street, but nothing unbearable. We slept well and rested well after our long days of walking. The room is very comfortable, with a small kitchen, and a comfortable bathroom (with a large step to access it) and a shower that is quite spacious, contrary to what is said in previous posts. We also had a small, very discreet private terrace, although we didn't use it much. Note that there is also a free access kitchen on the first floor, and that you can drink very good coffee beans there, as well as tea, emphasizing that everything is free, and that consumers respect the premises. A note. We sometimes had cooking smells in the room, because at the back, there are the restaurant air vents, and we think that with the air conditioning, the air is a little charged with these food smells. A point of attention. Dehumidifiers should be systematically checked and emptied, each time those responsible for cleaning visit them. Indeed, as there is a lot of humidity, the tank quickly fills with water. In 6 days we emptied it 3 times, moving the device into the shower to empty it. We highly recommend this hotel, but we think you should not choose a room facing the street. If we return to Singapore, we will definitely return to KéSa House, and we will not fail to recommend it to our friends. Danny and Christine.
