Get the crispy buffalo chicken hot wrap with blue cheese ranch (or something like that 😅). I was here with a friend and they ordered it, I took a bite and after that my grilled chicken wrap was not enjoyable anymore. Nothing wrong with it, just super bland. I dreamed about the crispy buffalo chicken that night. Other than that, the banana split we ordered was delicious! We had it with salted caramel, moose tracks, and cookie dough, with hot fudge on top. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Be careful ordering hot sandwiches for takeout! they use cheap plastic wrap that melts into your sandwich. Food was great though

Tried Kessel’s Korner for the first time and loved it - service was awesome and fairly quick considering how slammed they were. We had a large group and two toddlers and our server was attentive and delivered everything with a smile. The food was great - tasted fresh and really hit the spot after a day at the beach. And the ice cream afterward was fantastic - great selection of flavors and sundaes, and the milkshake was perfect - not too thick where it’s impossible to drink! If you’re looking for a table, be prepared to wait a few minutes and/or cozy up to a stranger - it was raining when we went, so the demand for indoor seating was probably much higher Great work overall!

Great food selections with a nostalgic 50s decor. Very large portions for a reasonable price and the food is delicious. I had the tuna fish platter and despite my big appetite, there was so much food, I couldn't finish it. Good service and friendly staff. A must for anyone coming to Ocean City!

I’ve been coming for yrs. Love the food, but service is mostly a miss, especially if an adult is not at the table. They never offer refills and barley check on tables. I can’t send my teen kids there (who know to start tipping at min. 20%) because I know the girls will be dismissive and ignore them. It happens every time. The servers pool tips & it’s obvious! Retrain your team & get it together. Act like you care…even just a little bit.

Think breakfast choices getting the most bang-for-buck. Cooked fresh to order. Love the options. Omelettes are delicious. I like how the fillers/toppings are not mixed in the eggs. Keeps it fresh. We’ll be back for the ice cream soda! Atmosphere is always fun. Service is friendly but a little slow.

Kessel’s Korner had some solid food! Everything was fresh and tasty perfect for a casual bite. The vibe was chill, and the service was friendly too. I’d definitely go back.

For over 15 years, my family and I have been visiting here and it never disappoints. The food is excellent, and the staff are always so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

This was my first time at Kessel's, but it's my fiancé's family's favorite place to take the kids for dinner every summer while vacationing in Ocean City! Since I've never been I asked opinions on what is a must order and the consensus in the house was to get a cheeseburger. My fiancé's niece loves their Grilled Cheese and my fiancé says they have the best onion rings (I tried them and they're pretty darn good). We had a large takeout order this year which included multiple burgers, cheesesteaks, orders of fries, onion rings, and milkshakes. We were told a 40 minute wait to pick up our food on a Saturday night in July which is to be expected. I enjoyed my cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion, the cheesesteaks looked very good as well. For the size of our order we felt the bill was reasonable. I like the fact that you can pick up your order from a pick-up window instead of going inside. From the looks of it Kessel's looked like it was buzzing inside, filled with families enjoying their dinners.

The food is always fantastic, I had an omelette that was prepared perfectly. I sat at the counter and my coffee cup was always filled and the potato's are spectacular!! Always easy to find parking as well! Luv this place and frequent it often.

I stumbled upon this place while heading to the beach. I needed a quick bite and this seemed to be the closest spot with good reviews. Service is poor. The people working there aren't friendly unfortunately. The food is not bad. I got the egg salad sandwich on rye bread and it was good and filling.

Food was great, service was great, the atmosphere is charming but a limited menu and cash only with paper plates isn't always what you want.

Great service, great desserts, okay food. My family and I are local to the area and visit Kessel's often. For starters, the inside of the restaurant is absolutely adorable. It's red and white checkered pattern gives you a homey and classic feel. There's booths, tables, and a counter with stools for customers to sit at. The food itself there is just okay. Basic items like fries, grilled cheese, salads, burgers, tenders, etc. Nothing to write home about. However, the ice cream options make up for it. Kessel's has both an outside ice cream window and inside ordering options. They have a vast ice cream menu where they can prepare many different types of ice cream in many creative ways. I got the red and white ice cream sundae (attached picture) and it was great! A very large, shareable size and tasted very good. In the past I've ordered milkshakes, banana splits, and sundaes and have never been disappointed! All in all I recommend Kessel's if you're looking for a casual place to eat on the island or looking for a dessert stop! I will be going back!

Kessel's is still our #1 after 14 years of coming to OCNJ in the summer. The vibe inside is fast-paced service and very diner-ish. There will be laughter and tears all around you because it's like a giant family went out to eat and you're part of it. It's just part of the experience! The waitresses cannot be nicer or sweeter or try harder. They work very hard and it shows! If you want to skip waiting for a table, eat at the counter like we do! You can watch all the guys in the back making the magic- and it's fun to watch! The Kessel's Special (hamburger with melted cheese and LTO) and fries (crinkle and sooooo good!) is our go-to, but we've also had many of the sandwiches and wraps and salads and all are great. You really can't go wrong! The ice cream is the best part- there's a window to order if you are too full after dinner and you walk back later like we always do, but if you have room after food do not skip! The flavors are always so good (last night I got salted caramel with chocolate covered pretzels) and they have great toppings. The fresh peach sundae is a fan fave as well as the Kessel's Kooler (soft serve whipped up with any toppings you choose). Kessel's we love you! Probably see you for lunch or dinner or ice cream (again) today.

Adorable place and pretty good food, but I think people like the ambiance more than anything - red decor, cute staff uniforms, and old fashioned vibes. My roast beef (store made) was fabulous! Joey liked his chicken salad hoagie, but said it was a bit dry (not enough mayo only reason). My daughter didn't like her burger - said "meh." My son LOVED his buffalo chicken cheese steak! Cash only, but I knew prior. Good prices.

Delicious food and friendly staff!! 10/10 would recommend. Cute inside as well. We also got some milkshakes to go which were delicious !!!

This place is so fun it's got major vintage diner vibes inside, we stopped for ice cream but the food smelled so good I can't wait to go back and actually eat there! The one weird thing is you can't order ice cream inside you have to go to the window outside, but no one acknowledged us for quite a while so we went inside to try to order and rather than let us order they sent us back outside to the window. It is off season so I'm sure they have better service in the summer, and they weren't super rude about it either which is good.

This is the only place on the island that has kept prices the same without compromising on quality. Their prices are fair and the food always delivers, so I can't stop coming back. Kessel's is a great option for every meal and it has something for everyone. I hope this place keeps up the good work!

So I'm back in SJ in Strathmere and looked for a cheesesteak on Yelp. Saw Kessel's corner on Yelp with mostly good reviews. I ordered pick up and when I got there they didn't have my order(cheese steak wit), FF and a shake. Not a big deal so on the ride back to Strathmere had the krinkle fries which were good and the shake, also decent. When I opened the cheese steak I couldn't believe what I saw. Steakum, not chopped ribeye. So, I don't recommend this place at all for a cheese steak and probably wouldn't recommend for anything else if they are using such cheap meat and calling it a cheese steak.

There was a time in my life that I was alone, isolated. A metaphorical lighthouse keeper confined not but 3 blocks from Kessel's Korner. On the darkest day, as the umbra of my life hung large over me like the sword of Damocles - Kessel's stood defiant. A light shining in darkness. This place exclusively serves ambrosia and the nectar of the gods. A heavenly place, I would not be surprised if when I die I find myself in a spiritual reconstruction of Kessel's Korner - marooned eternally, but in safe harbor.

Nice place for a quick bite to eat. They are cash only but have a ATM inside. The old school soda floats and various other dessert items make it worth a try!

Had breakfast here. The food was unseasoned and generally tasteless. The scrambled eggs were dry and appeared to be powdered eggs. The home fries were basically a cut up dried out baked potato with no seasoning or butter. My daughter wouldn't even eat the chocolate chip pancake. She said it just tasted like flour. The pancake mix was clearly right from a box and not a good one. All the food here goes right from the US foods truck to your plate. Terrible. The employees were nice.

I fully understand it's Summer and they're busy. But I go to Kessel's year round specifically for their fresh ground, juicy hamburger. Awesome Roll, great fried onions, Jersey tomatoes (when available), crispy lettuce, tangy pickles and condiments of your choice. What a disappointment this visit...Dry ass burger that some hack cook decided to stab to death so there wasn't an ounce of flavor or juice left! A stalwart in the burger game falls to novice techniques. I will return but so disappointing. #hackcookssuck

What business doesn't take credit this day in age...avoiding much? Very unorganized, people that came after us got their orders before us. Took over an hour to get a wrap, a burger and 3 cheesestakes! And the girl at the window was extremely rude as she slammed the window in my face when I was asking about my food...not cool! I will not be going back any time soon.

Love to grab a quick bite at Kessel's Korner whenever we're in OC. Great fries, milshakes, burgers, cheesesteaks and salads. On our last visit there, however, I was HORRIFIED when I used the restroom. Paper towels were overflowing the trash can, dried poop was spattered all over the toilet, the floor was filthy and was COMPLETELY coverd with ants. I sincerely hope they improve the cleanliness of their restrooms (hope the kitchen is cleaner!) so we can continue to enjoy eating there.

I love this place always has my favorite comfort food and it's always done well by the short order cook's they have. I can't wait to come back there next year when I'm down there vacationing

Food menu is a little slim, but OH the ice cream!! Our family loves taking walks in the neighborhood and Kessels for ice cream gets us moving! From a classic soft serve cone with sprinkles, to a mile high sundae and even a creative selection of ice cream sodas you can't go wrong!

This place is the best. For real. Nothing fancy but a must stop. Staff is friendly, food is absolutely fresh and top quality. The prices are exceptionally reasonable with very health portions. I can say without a doubt that it will be a must stop every time I'm in ocean city. Beware- Cash Only!

This was our go to place staying in OCNJ off season this year, and it did not disappoint! We had a variety of sandwiches, hoagies, cheesesteaks, burgers. All very good considering there isn't a lot very good to eat in OCNJ... I got a seat at the bar one day and saw them making the sandwiches. Quite a process to get all the meat\cheese\toppings into the sandwich, they use the edge of the knife to get everything into the roll. One nice touch...they scoop the inside out of their bread! Just on one side it seems, but it does allow for more fillings and less bread! I actually got one of their long rolls to go, and a few pats of butter. Very good, we will be back!

Very basic, but good, sit-down dining, sandwich shoppe and ice cream parlor in OCNJ. It's a classic kind of old OCNJ place. Despite the fact that I've been coming to OCNJ for many years, I've only ever been to Kessels once before--for breakfast. This time it was for dinner on a dreary Memorial Day weekend day. The place was busy. I'm sure it would have been packed if it wasn't for the fact that it was a bad weather weekend. Basic burgers, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and ice cream. Not at all a fancy menu, and not fine dining, but a pleasant family-type of experience. Also, not too expensive, considering you're in a beach resort. Servers were friendly. Cash only.

Tried this out for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. I was surprised that the cheesesteak is not chopped up but it was still delicious. I personally didn't care for the Mac and cheese bites but my bf liked them. Everything was pretty inexpensive also 2 large cheesesteaks and everything else for 37$ not to shabby. Will be back!

You have to go! The best family restaurant in Ocean City NJ with excellent wait staff and the delicious comfort food. No matter what time of day that you drop in. The food and service are always excellent. We have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. Favorites of ours.... Bacon cheeseburger, fries, and blueberry pancakes. Great food and very nice staff. Enjoyed a cheese steak sandwich. Was excellent. Had a omelette for breakfast and wife had pancakes again very good.

Honestly REALLY DISAPPOINTED. The food was EXTREMELY MEH. Along with this, the service was so disappointing... SLAMMING the sliding window on us and not giving us our money back when we asked are just some examples. It's not worth the hassle. Won't ever go back.

This restaurant has the worst service in the shore. Open seating is available indoors or you can order at the window. Was told 30 minute wait and still didn't have half the order after 70 mins. Half our food came out and the other half was nowhere to be found until we asked for our money back.

Friendly staff with great service!! Very popular place on weekends so be prepared to have some wait, but the food is worth it! 10/10 recommend anything on the menu!

Kessel's is a perfect little neighborhood spot for quick and cheap food. Their menu ranges from burgers and steaks, wraps and ice cream. You can seat yourself at a booth or table or hang at the counter. The decor is reminiscent of a 50s diner: checkered floor, red chairs; it is very warm and welcoming. With paper plates, this is definitely not the place to come for a fancy dinner. For dinner my friend had a cheesesteak and I had a buffalo chicken wrap, both sandwiches were cooked perfectly and came out quickly. Fries are not included, but definitely order a side because they are amazing. In the end, two sandwiches, two fries and two drinks came out to $24; can't beat it in Ocean City!

Kessel's is open daily when other places here are not. It offers a simple menu and fulfills it with 100% consistency year after year. It is quick, family run, friendly, clean, bright, busy and some other things too. Burgers, among my favorite hot dogs, nice small cheesesteaks and buffalo chicken cheese steaks, fries, rings. Fresh peach sundaes, in season. Coke products. Some other things too, including wraps, chicken salad. Kessel's is really an integral part of OC and its Southside.

This local and long established eatery in the more southern half of Ocean City is a gem!! Not crowded out with other merchants, just a residential area, makes for a more quiet, friendly, family oriented place to get the very BEST cheesesteaks, burgers and other sandwiches with great fries and onion rings too!! Try the egg salad sandwich!! ....the best news of all, during these belt-tightening times is that they have, so far, kept their prices very reasonable. Service is prompt and friendly. They also have an outside window for ice cream orders and for pick up, benches and tables outside for your pleasure and comfort.....Bravo Kessel's!!

This place is great and always has been but last time I checked hair doesn't go well with ice cream. I have always been a fan of kessel's and their food and ice cream are amazing but hair nets would be a great addition to the uniform.

Delightful small gem. Great find after a day at the beach. Pleasant atmosphere. Young friendly staff. We started out several years ago simply for an ice cream treat. In August they serve the best fresh peach sundaes. Then we started going for a light supper. Never disappointed. Service is fast, efficient and always friendly. Highly recommend.

I stopped in at Kessel's again a week or two ago, and I wanted to give them an extra star because of how great my Greek salad was. The lettuce was fresh and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The fries and the sorbet weren't bad, but for the quality they were a bit overpriced. (But it's the shore, so that's not too surprising.) The dining room was crowded, but I appreciate how the bussers quickly cleared off tables so my family and I could take a seat. As usual, I can't leave 5/5 because the waitstaff was so-so. I'm not sure why Kessel's continues to employ young girls who act as if they would rather be somewhere else!

Took forever to get a seat, forever to our food. They don't butter the toast when it is still warm and the scrapple ? I don't recommend the scrapple. Smashed cold scrapple isn't very good at all.

Kessel's has the BEST prices on the island. Their onion rings are my go to. Today I had a Home Cooked Roast Beef Sub. The roast beef is flavorful, tender and no fat. There was so much roast beef on the hoagie that I even took some off to save for tomorrow. The cost.....$6.95!!! Great value!!!! The restaurant is clean and the teenage workers are so friendly.

Must try corner ice cream shop that will become your regular. In July try their fresh peach sundae with vanilla ice cream, unbeatable. Stop here, wait in line with all the locals, grab your ice cream and start a conversation. Great family time.

Feed two adults and two teenagers for under $30 in OCNJ--yes please! We've been coming to OC for years but this is the first time we've tried Kessel's Korner. So glad we did! Ordering on the phone was super easy. The food was ready fast and the hot items stayed hot until we got home. The BLT was loaded with ripe tomatoes. The Italian hoagie was loaded with Italian meats. The cheesesteak was made perfectly and the Kessel's Special hit the spot as only a delicious burger can do. We will definitely order from here again :)

Amazing food. Service was terrible. There were 3 women running the window and they talked constantly. We waited in a line or 2 groups for 25 minutes. We got a root beer float and a milkshake. The root beer float took 10 minutes and we had to wait 30 minutes for the milkshake. They told us it was blending 25 minutes before we got it. All they did was talk. Ice cream was good. Hated the service.
