"Kestrel’s original location opened in 2018 at South Burlington’s Technology Park offering sandwiches and salads, and the café recently expanded with a second location in the former Maglianero space in downtown Burlington. Owners Charlotte and Johnny Steverson met in 2011 working at the acclaimed Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, New York, where Johnny headed the coffee program. The couple sources beans from all over the world, with a focus on single origin coffees from small farms." - Heather Platt

Clean, bright. On the pretentious side. The guy working was polite and friendly. I am not sure what the normal price point for the area is...but 9.25 for a SMALL iced dirty chai is outrageous. It was fine but not 9.25 fine.

Worst coffee in town and overpriced. Barista left like 4oz of space in my drink and was like, "we gave you the correct amount" nah homie, the correct amount is to fill my cup all the way. They put the cream and sugar in for you also, which is just so weird.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Burlington. The space is super cool and airy with lots of natural light and old wood floors (there’s even a little pop up shop in an old bank vault - although I loved that even more when it was available as a seating area). It’s a fully accessible space with lots of seating options, free indoor bike parking, a great (and clean) bathroom, decent WiFi and rotating art exhibits. Perfect place to work, have a meeting, take a date or just sit and people watch on Maple Street. The staff are always super friendly and the coffee is excellent (Kestrel roasts their own at their facility in South Burlington). It’s also super close to Perkins Pier if you want to take your drink to go and enjoy the beautiful lake view!

It was a lovely spot to grab a maple latte and little pastry. The cafe is in a wide open gallery space, with soft music filling it. The baristas were very welcoming.

Gorgeous space with high ceilings, wide window sills and lots of light. Good espresso drinks, free wifi, indoor bike storage. Rotating art installations. On the waterfront.

We have a resource issue in our world with so much waste and garbage. I’m disappointed that you folks only have disposable cups. I hear you don’t have a dishwasher, but wouldn’t it be worth it for all of us if you did? Also, sipping my espresso from a cardboard cup takes away from the experience…. Yes, a truly 1st world issue. I don’t think I’ll be back here for these reasons. Thanks for reading. 😊

Asked for recommendations to try. Their straight coffee roasts are very good. Staff was very nice. For a pop in visit I was very impressed. Would definitely come again.

Google
Kestrel has lots of space and seating available to sit down and do some work (free wifi) and/or meet with others! It wasn’t too loud (no crazy music) even though most tables were filled throughout my visit. They also have indoor bike parking which I thought was awesome!!

Yelp
Great vibes, great music, and great coffee. The barista was so sweet too! Located right by the boardwalk to the lake so we stopped in for a quick warm up. Thanks Krestrel!

Yelp
Cute coffee shop love the art and area to work but coffee can be hit or miss. My mother's chai was lukewarm and my maple drink wasn't that strong. The turtle coffee was the best super sweet extra hot. It was cute inside and loved how you can bring your dogs in.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop inside a brick co-op building. Got an iced americano with maple syrup which was great as well as an apple walnut scone. I would definitely order both again. Service was pleasant and quick.

Yelp
Lovely spot for a hot coffee or tea! I really enjoyed their take on the London fog, a tea latte made with English breakfast, oat milk, and maple. Spacious area for indoor seating.

Yelp
Amazing coffee with rotating art installations and lots of seating. The blueberry cold brew was unique and refreshing.

Yelp
Sweet little roastery with free short term streetside parking...in and out with a minimum of fuss, excellent esperesso, friendly staff. Thanks!

Yelp
Usually I'm the last person to leave a yelp review for any establishment, but I honestly felt a little scammed today by Kestrel. I ordered a dirty chai, which I assumed would be a pretty orthodox coffee shop beverage. I was charged nearly $9 for it, and I didn't realize until I viewed my receipt half an hour later how expensive it had been. I want to take some responsibility for being inattentive to their pricing somehow but even so...who charges that much for a dirty chai??? I don't want to blame the workers at all because they are just doing their job and I appreciate the service they provide. I just don't think I will be returning to Kestrel after this negative experience. Additionally, my drink was bitter and disappointing. Thank you for reading, sorry for leaving a scathing review I just wanted to share my experience.

Yelp
Went in asking for directions to a bathroom. They were so friendly and so helpful. And we got a coffee just because we were there, a plain latte, it was delicious... creamy and smooth with a beautiful tulip on the top. Glad we happened in.

Yelp
The best coffee in town! Rich, tasty, smooth. The staff also knows how to make a fantastic cappuccino/cortado/macchiato. For the explorers, you can add CBD to your drink.

Yelp
This was a great latte! Good amount of foam to milk ratio. Maple latte because it's Vermont, right? There was no inside seating or ordering ... only from the window on the sidewalk. There also is no parking, but it didn't deter me.

Lesley J.

Yelp
The space if fairly minimalist which I don't mind. Local art on the walls, small coffee bar with very friendly and helpful staff. I ordered an iced coffee and the homemade biscuit breakfast sammie which I super recommend. They are premade and very tasty. Great space to work in, not super loud so easy to take and listen on calls. Would def. make this a recurring spot.

Yelp
Gott a peppermint mocha, very good, $5. My friend got the Denizen with oat milk, which is a spicy latte and also $5. I want to try their ham and cheese biscuit. Great ambiance. Cute cups. I want to go and study here!

Michelle W.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this coffee after reading about their small batches blah blah. Guys, your coffee is sour! You're brewing it incorrectly! After repeated requests for more cream it was palatable.

Mark T.

Yelp
Great little shop with well balanced coffee! I stumbled on to this place on vacation and will definitely return one day! Do yourself a favor and check them out. You won't be disappointed.

Kelsey K.

Yelp
Smooth, strong, excellent quality coffee! Ethan makes the perfect latte. The flavored drinks I've had are never too sweet- just perfect!

Ashley B.

Yelp
One of my favorite cafes in town! The location is absolutely beautiful with the waterfront views and gallery display. The drinks are always great and this is a great place to sit and work.

Yelp
My friend and I both got the vanilla caramel latte, the espresso itself is smooth and mild. I got mine with oat milk while she stayed with dairy. Both aren't overly sweet but are enjoyable.
