Keuka Wine Bar - Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"On the Upper East Side, Keuka Wine Bar focuses on wines from the Finger Lakes region of New York. It’s the second location—the owners have Keuka Cafe in Forest Hills—and besides  pouring glasses of Finger Lakes dry riesling, they also serve some meat and cheese, braised short ribs, and chicken tagine. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

Google
Had the best meal at this new neighborhood gem. Keuka is a wine bar that specializes in New York wines (in addition to many other domestic and international wines) and has a fun and eclectic menu. It has a wide selection of wines, cheeses, and meats, and clearly indicates which ones are local to the region. We went for one of their monthly wine tasting/pairing nights which was “Alaskan” themed and it did not disappoint. The dishes were thoughtful and the paired wines were perfect. The owners clearly are passionate about what they do and are incredibly knowledgeable. We had the best time trying Alaskan foods and cold region wines and we will definitely be back for their future events.

Nick was ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. Charming, funny and an excellent waiter. He made our birthday celebration off the charts. The food was excellent (perogies and the beet salad were amazing!) and so was the wine (an excellent uniaked chardonney). Had a blast. Thank you!!

Google
Amazing space, great playlist, great snacks and amazing wine list. Super kind staff. Had a friend gathering/book club night in the loft space and it was perfect, wonderful staff, never rushed us out even though downstairs filled up. Will definitely be back.

Google
Lovely little neighborhood wine bar, off the beaten path. And unlike a lot of "wine bars," they actually have some interesting wines, with a special focus on wines from New York State, particularly the Finger Lakes, hence the name. Charcuterie selection is strong, service is friendly, vibe is relaxed. Pop in for a glass and some cheese.

Ever since it opened a few months ago, I’ve been eyeing a visit and we finally took a chance last week. Nick is amazing - absolutely knows his stuff. He was descriptive with the wine selections and had perfect sense of pairings for both cheese and meat. Ambience is very cute and cozy Definitely will return!

Google
What a wonderful experience. The food was amazing I recommend the perogies, beet salad, fish tacos (absolutely amazing), and the like grilled cheese. All the food was fantastic. The wines are amazing I tried a few different and all are really well selected and reasonably priced. The owner was amazing to meet. Olga made you feel like you were being hosted at her home. I can't wait to go again and try more wine and food options.

Google
We made a stop to enjoy a cheese board and wine. They have a nice unique selection of both, and the quality is excellent, better than in many of the older established wine bars in the city. The service and ambience were also great, we will definitely be back to try more.

Google
FINALLY a wine bar that is comparable to Europe. 40 wines by the glass at fantastic prices. Awesome meat and cheese boards, as well as a very eclectic menu. Staff is so friendly and they definitely know wine! This place is much needed and I’m so happy it’s here!

Yelp
We had an amazing meal and wine experience here. They were doing their Alaska/Alaska food inspired tasting dinner, paired with wines from cooler regions. The pairing was really great! It started with Keuka's spin on a Hugo spritz. All of the food was amazing and the wines were wines we never would have ordered on their own. Unfortunately, the food on the tasting menu is not part of their standard menu so we'll have to keep in our memories forever. The owner and the waiter/server were both very friendly. The owner is super into NY wines and has a passion for wine - and is happily willing to share her enthusiasm with anyone that asks. Will come back for sure!

Yelp
New place opened a month or two ago I think. Excellent service - they have a decent wine list. Happy hour is also till 7p which is generous. Wines are 10$. Their food menu is nice too. The green Thai mussels were good but on HH they were 20$. We sat at the bar. The music was good. The vibe is very relaxed and chill, will be visiting many times They also have a sweet party place nook - 20 People standing and it looked super cute

Yelp
Brought my family visiting from out of town to this new wine bar in the neighborhood. The space is cute and they have a small upstairs seating area as well. We stopped in for happy hour after seeing the sign out front with a great happy hour deal. They had one red, one rose and one white as part of happy hour. Their wine list was unique with most glasses being $10-$20. We sat for about an hour and around 5pm on a Friday, it was just us and one other table. We wanted to sit and chat longer, but felt a little rushed by the service to order food and wine. I'm a little hesitant to return since I love a wine bar that I can sit, chat and catch up with friends at my leisure and I didn't get that vibe here. I'd give it one more shot since their wine list was lengthy and different from other places in the area and I do want to see them succeed in this space!

Yelp
I am at the new Keuka Wine Bar on 86th street between York and 1st. They have a nice selection of wine and menu items. Standout items (to my eye) are mussels, pierogies and flatbread. They have multiple vegetarian options which makes it attractive to me. I tried two different reds and the bartender Nick was on point on his recommendations. I tasted the Kachapuri and their potato leek soup. The Kachapuri is like pizza and quesadillas made a baby. Authentic Georgian ones are more bready/doughy but this is quite tasty as well. Perfect for sharing. The potato leek soup is perfect for a winter meal. Very friendly service. The ambience is very adult and calming. You can have actual conversations. So if you are looking for a place to chill with friends or family or on a casual date, this is a great place. I wish them well and I am definitely rooting for their success.

Yelp
So happy this place opened up in the neighborhood! We stopped in just planning to check it out and have a quick glass of wine, and ended up staying for the full experience. What started as a casual visit turned into ordering every appetizer on the menu (yes, really) and dessert, because everything was just that good. Each dish was beautifully prepared, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with a lot of care and love. The vibe is warm, inviting, and unfussy. It is perfect for a relaxed evening or an impromptu date night. One of the owners, Olga, was holding down the fort with such calm, graceful energy. She's incredibly friendly, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about the wines, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell this place is a true labor of love. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we'll be back. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A very relaxing afternoon at Keuka--wonderful wine and apps. We had the pierogi sampler, Astoria flatbread, and the 3&3 combo of cheeses and meats. Wonderful smoked duck and cheddar from Greenwich Village. Wine of rose and Pinot were great choices. So happy to spend the afternoon with Olga (an Ukraine supporter!) and meet Nike. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We will return.

Yelp
I walked past on the way to the bank and am so glad I stopped! Nick was beyond gracious and the consummate professional. He was extremely engaging and ever-so-knowledgeable of the menu and pairings. He is an exceptional ambassador for this establishment. I will definitely be back to try every item on the menu.

Yelp
Decent wine list , loved that it wasn't too crowded or noisy . A nice casual place for a catch up with friends without the crowds of 2nd Avenue.

Yelp
Had a chance to go to this great new spot on the UES!! Great happy hour! Food was great, service was AMAZING!! Nick was the absolute best! Go check it out and support this new spot! Happy to see it was packed, after only being open for 2 weeks!

Yelp
Great new addition to the neighborhood. Absolutely delicious food and presentation. Loved the mustard seed, soaked cranberries and pralines served with the meat and cheese board. The Keuka Springs Crooked Lake wine is a treat. The My Thai Salad is served with an out-of-this-world dressing. Quick and friendly service. Could use a different color on the back wall, but other than that, the ambiance is cozy and intimate. Definitely telling all of my friends and will go back soon!

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and I love this place. The food is delicious as is the wine and the host is friendly and attentive. Plus the vibes are great, small and cozy, tucked away.

Frank C.

Yelp
The ambiance is sophisticated but very friendly. The selection of wines is varied and excellent. But the biggest surprise is the food. Everything is just really well put together, interesting combinations of tastes, perfectly cooked. Four stars.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. A hidden gem! Great selection of wines by the glass or bottle. Don't miss. We enjoyed the crab and avocado, tailored charcuterie platters and short ribs.

Nancy G.

Yelp
Excellent wine, food and service. Meat and cheese board the best in neighborhood. We had meat and cheese as well as the beer salad and short ribs. All terrific!

Josh P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious hidden gem in the UES. Highly highly recommend trying. Great ambiance and menu variety is excellent.

Yelp
Went tonight for wine and cheese before dinner. What a pleasant surprise!!! The restaurant was lovely, the service was superb, the cheeses were awesome! Super fair pricing. I am pregnant and really appreciated the non-alcoholic wine and listing of which cheeses were pasteurized (most were) and which were not. Will definitely be back!
