Key Biscayne is a Florida town on a barrier island across the Rickenbacker Causeway from Miami. It lies between 2 large parks—Crandon Park and Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park—each with long, sheltered beaches, mangroves and tropical forest inhabited by birdlife, butterflies and loggerhead turtles. The latter is home to the 19th-century Cape Florida Lighthouse.

"After perusing Airbnb for a couple days and failing to find a home that suited my needs—an affordable, nice studio or one-bedroom in a residential neighborhood—I finally stumbled upon a hidden gem. Chelsea's white and blue-painted guest house checked off all of the boxes: it was budget-friendly and hosted by a verified Airbnb Superhost, had a near-perfect 4.97-star rating, was on a tree-lined street with casual and delicious-looking restaurants, and was centrally located near Brickell, Little Havana, Downtown Miami, and Key Biscayne. As a bonus, it couldn't have been more charming. It was nestled into the curve of a small lagoon-shaped pool, shaded by a stand of leafy palm trees, and hidden behind the main house inside a garden wrapped in vines, scattered with flowers, and bursting with bubbly, low-to-the-ground succulents."
