Avoid Keys Cafe in Roseville — Especially If You Value Basic Hygiene and Respectful Service.
I typically go to Marty’s Deli for breakfast, but since they were closed on Easter, I decided to try something new. Big mistake. I ordered takeout from Keys Cafe in Roseville and was disgusted to find two long black hairs in my food. Completely unacceptable — I had to throw the entire meal away, and unfortunately, my family ended up without breakfast on Easter morning.
When I called to report the issue, the manager casually brushed it off by saying, “Well, that’s the cook’s hair but they’re wearing a hairnet, which is all that’s required. These things happen.” No apology. No accountability. Just a dismissive shrug.
He vaguely offered to mail a gift card, but never asked for my name or address. So I drove back to the restaurant with the food in hand, showed them the hair (and my bald head to make it crystal clear it wasn’t mine), and requested a refund. Instead, I was handed a couple of discount coupons — nowhere near the value of the meal I paid for but couldn’t eat.
To make matters worse, when I first picked up the order, staff mistook me for a DoorDash driver and treated me like an inconvenience. Between the unsanitary food, the dismissive attitude, and the complete lack of customer service, this was a terrible experience from start to finish.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.
