A small and intimate place to enjoy live Jazz. You enter a lovely cocktail lounge surrounded by photos and San Francisco Jazz History, while you wait to be seated inside the club. While waiting we ordered cocktails and our dinner, that was served right before the performance. A simple and delicious menu. My listed price per person includes the concert drinks and dinner.

Great place for a night out! The band was really good and the food too! I was amazed that they made such a good vegan meat pie that tasted just like the real thing. Their menu is clearly labeled for gluten free and some vegan options - staff is definitely helpful and attentive!

Came as the finale to a small trip and WOW, it did not disappoint! The food was so delicious: the vegan pie was super well seasoned and crispy in the crust, grilled salmon was perfect, and kids loved the sausage rolls. Also highly recommend the Australian coconut dessert cake, lamington! The performance was intimate, but still big enough that we could blend in with the walls to take care of kids. There bathrooms close by too 👌 The best part was meeting people and feeling the sense of community growing there. Owner, Simon seemed to know everyone by name as they came in. Manager, Eric came to our table and made our kids some of their best memories from the trip with his friendliness. And the musicians all clearly had rapport with the audience. It was amazing to see the local SF arts and music scene I this cozy, artistic setting! Thank you so much for be family-friendly too!

Seriously the jazz play was one of the best. We were so lucky to visit this place in Dec 21st - The play of Craig Handy & Marvin Smitty Smith. Thank you for gifting us amazing jazz night in San Francisco 🎷

The atmosphere and staff are hands down some of the best in San Francisco!! I come here several times a throughout the year to see a close friend of mine perform and I always enjoy myself. I’ve only had one food item from here and it was delicious. The cherry on top is the super affordable prices. I got a tall beer and shot of vodka for less than 15 bucks, crazy!! I love this place

We're Jazz lovers, and had heard a bit about Keys, so we decided to stop by and check it out after dinner. The staff was cool, laid back, and super nice/friendly. They immediately warmly welcomed us, and let us know that the cover was special discounted that night. They invited us to take a peek/listen, and stay and hang out if we liked what we saw. We enjoyed the vibe instantly, and stayed. We chose correctly. The music was amazing and the drinks were awesome. Plus, when the server found out it was Wife and my 20 Year Wedding Anniversary, she congratulated us...AND gave us free cake! It was Delicious. So: great prices, great staff, great music, great atmosphere, and great food/drinks. I must Strongly Recommend. And there is no rating that can be given except...Perfect Five Stars :)

Keys Jazz Bistro is the BEST place for jazz in San Francisco!!! We like other jazz venues in the City but Keys tops them all. Simon and his crew are delightful and add a touch of class to the experience.

My friend and I had a great evening at Keys Jazz Bistro! The cozy, intimate venue provided the perfect setting to enjoy live music and talented musicians jamming. We enjoyed the raspberry almond tart and gelato. We are excited to return!

One of the best bar experiences I've had in the city. We were out on a Saturday looking for new places to try, with a particular desire for live music - and thanks to a quick scan of the reviews of my lovely fellow Yelpers, we decided to check out Keys Jazz Bistro. When we walked in, the current set was about 10 minutes from finishing, and so we weren't sure if we wanted to stay. However, our wonderfully hospitable hostess noticed us and offered to let us sit at a table and enjoy a drink to see if we were interested in staying for the next set, before even asking for the cover charge. How can you say no to an offer like that? Once we sat down, we were completely sold. All tables and seats in the bar face toward a prominent stage, capable of fitting as small or large of an ensemble as needed. We ended up staying for a couple more hours and enjoyed a full set of beautiful jazz. One of the owners, an incredibly charming Australian man named Simon, led the band with remarkable organ playing. He discussed the background and history of each piece before playing, weaving in his clear passion and wealth of knowledge about jazz throughout the set. The service was also excellent throughout the evening, with our waitress coming by our table regularly to make sure our glasses were never empty. This place is truly special. For anyone with any interest in jazz music (or live music at all), extremely charming owners, and great drinks, you owe it to yourself to come here. My only regret is that I didn't discover this place sooner!

Woot! I got lucky enough to visit Keys in SF for a nice evening of Jazz! I was in SF all week for work and wanted to spend at least one evening listening to some great music. After a bit of a search via yelp, I found Keys Jazz Bistro. I had spent about an hour at The Dawn Club and Keys was the perfect 2nd spot. I was able to catch the last 45 minutes of the 9pm show and a great trio was playing. Everyone in the room was having a great time! While I was there I had a glass of wine and a cable car cocktail. The cocktail was delicious and served in a lovely and vintage inspired glass. Super cute end to my Jazz night! I love venues like this which are relaxed and unpretentious. If I ever find myself back in SF, I'll happily make my way back to Keys.

What a lovely jazz night Bought tickets online for the wrong date yet they still allowed us to watch. What impressed me the most was the establishments workers who were funny, friendly and personable. They make you feel right at home, are professional yet very witty and personable. I'd come again just for the great service! Good selections are wonderful and they have a lot of local businesses.

This place was wonderful! Great music, extremely welcoming owner, great cocktails and good food (albeit from a very limited menu). My wife and I love live jazz and the acoustics here were excellent - we sat near the front and the volume was neither too loud nor too soft. Whilst many of our fellow audience members seemed to be long time fans of the artist (Bruce Forman) playing that night, we were new to his music - and he had a limited catalogue online. That said, it was still very enjoyable for us - he was a great storyteller in between his songs, and we had a lot of fun tapping along to the trio. We'd love for this venue / business to succeed and will be back again soon!

Food - 5 Service - 5 Ambience - 5 Parking - good luck! (Uber) All seriousness, very close to stage so every seat is a winner. The food was way above average and very fairly priced. Bartender and drinks, top notch. This is a winner and check out their website for upcoming shows. Make this your spot.

Perhaps jazz in it's purest form in the city. A very intimate jazz setting focused entirely on the jazz itself, which is nice, but not quite what I'm looking for. If you're a jazz aficionado, then Keys is probably a perfect fit, but if you're looking for a casual jazz bar to converse with people over a drink and have a bite to eat, maybe not quite the place to go to. Jazz bars are more the latter for me so Keys isn't quite what I want but it's an enjoyable experience overall.

What amazing night my husband and I had last night at Keys Bistro. The music was on fire. We felt that they were playing to us the whole night. The only drawback was that there was no real food for the late show. Bravo to the band, Craig Handy (sax), Joe Warner (piano), Essiet Okon Essiet (bass), and the band leader, Sylvia Cuena (drums). Amazing!

Super friendly service and great vibes at this spot! It was my first time watching a jazz show, and the owner was very nice and welcoming. Made it to one of the 9PM shows, so kitchen was already closed. But there is a late night menu available. We loved the Aussie lamington, but the raspberry pastry was a stark and disappointing contrast. The lamington was delicious and moist while the pastry was much too dry. Would've liked to try one of the pies, so maybe next time! The drinks were pretty good also. Really enjoyed the show and ambiance of the place, and would love to come back soon!

Awesome club to see the Bay Area's best jazz musicians, as well as top-notch talent that come to town! Everyone (especially Simon, Kylie, and Esaundra) provides great service and makes sure you feel welcome and at home. Killer cocktails and delicious food to go along with the amazing performances on the bandstand. Can't say enough good things about this place

Food, hospitality, music, what more could you ask for. Eric is great host and bartender. Essandra, great waitress and welcoming spirit. Nice club with good menus and pricing. Mixed drinks and beers terrific--they still have a couple of kegs of Anchor Steam. Mary Stallings was the headliner, backed up by a quartet of fine musicians. You should catch her show next month. A living local jazz legend, whose voice is strong and expressive. The set list is not just the usual standards. Marvelous evening will be had by all. All seats in the club are good.

You can really tell that Simon is so vested in this cool Jazz bistro. Dare I say it's the cat's meow!!! Do yourself and a special someone a favor and bring them down to the Keys. This is a new jazz venue, and for that reason I imagine not a lot of people know about it yet. It was pretty slow on a Friday night, and we attended the late show to enjoy the entertainment of Giulio Xavier & GX3. The musicians were talented and seemed very relaxed on stage and just immersed in the sounds of their instruments. The atmosphere overall was modern, clean, and extremely laid back.  We first got cocktails at the bar, which were really good. I loved the John Daly, simple and refreshing. Then we moved into the lounge area for the show. The menus there were a bit different, but I asked the server if they serve the same drinks as at the bar and she said yes. So, more John Daly for me! We also tried a couple items off their food menu. The House Charcuterie (featuring Molinari's Delicatessen) was yummy. I can't even name all of the meats and cheeses on there, but they were good and presented beautifully on the charcuterie board. There was also some kind of olive tapenade which I really enjoyed. The flavor of the day for Rik's Sorbet was passion fruit, so we had some of that as well, and it was perfect... cold, sweet, tangy, and even went well with my boyfriend's French 75. I loved that on a slow night, the staff and band still put on a good show and provided excellent service. It allowed me and my partner to have a wonderful experience here. And hopefully others can also enjoy the awesome jazz events they put on in the future. As music-lovers, we will definitely be back.

My new fav jazz venue. So intimate. The owner and waitstaff are friendly and attentive. Even the food was good! But the real draw is the music. Clairdee and her band were wonderful! She had the audience enthralled. I'm definitely going back and I'll be looking for Clairdee on their calendar.

Keys is a welcome addition to the SF jazz scene. This north beach venue harkens back to more golden days of jazz and jazz in SF with frequent shows of great Bay Area and touring talent. Stop in and enjoy this focussed listening experience.

Introduced to this lovely venue when Colm Ó Riain's band played over st. Patrick's Day weekend. Lovely place and staff. Definitely will be back and will bring more friends.

Went with a few friends for our first live jazz experience and had such a fun time! We went to see Clairdee. The staff are friendly, the food/drinks are good, and the music was amazing. Will def be recommending this place to others and will be back.

Small intimate jazz setting. Simon, the owner with a lovely Aussie accent, shared the San Francisco jazz history of the venue...amazing stuff. Good food and more than just bar bites. And the drink menu has favorites like Old Fashions and Manhattan in addition to original recipes. Check it out!

We came for the awesome music and only had drinks and snacks but what we did have was delightful! Can't wait to return. Everyone was lovely!

The food was well. I got the board. It's not like a normal one. Only 2 basic basic cheeses no goat or brie. The bread harder than a dog biscuit couldn't cut through or bite it. The server had nerves to get upset when I asked them to replace the small 2 bricks. Not enough for spread anyway. Basic salami and hard prosciutto noy eatable. No jam or berries, just a few tiny walnuts and olives. The drinks were good and made just right. Note: boards are made ahead of time, so it's not that fresh, and they don't cover them. Ambiance is cool up close and personal with the musician for the place is rather small. It's more like a pop-up venue, not a place to spend $25 on tickets. Let me not forget I was charged twice for my meal. I don't know how that happened. Why would I order the same disgusting then twice!

A great evening with tasty food, delicious cocktails and wonderful jazz! We visited Keys Jazz for the first time this past Saturday. The original plan was to go there for jazz and then stop by somewhere else at the North Beach for a late dinner. We got there early and were really happy with the music and the cocktails. Suddenly we smelled the blackened fish and grits next table, my husband couldn't resist. During the break, we got the fish and grits as well as the prawn salad. Both fish and prawn were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the salad was fresh, crispy and not drown in dressing. Eric was friendly, knowledgeable and made killer drinks with quality ingredients (I got a French 75 and a dry martini; my husband got a Cable Car and a John Daly-- all were well-balanced and delicious!) Needless to say we stayed for another round of jazz and drinks, and plan to go back again soon!

We did not order food but we did order drinks, and those were ok, nothing special. Service was fine, we were welcomed very well but our server was slow and not communicative. Nice atmosphere but music was ok, I am not music expert but I felt like it wasn't jazz. For $25 coverage I would recommend some other jazz places.

Excellent music at this friendly, intimate, new Jazz bistro in North Beach. We heard Kenny Washington, who is an absolute delight. Despite having 3 shows that night, the room was packed with over 90 people at the bar and tables. And despite two shows in front of him still he sang an encore. The audience really loved his one blues number. We had dinner and cocktails. The Negroni's were perfect. The owners, the door men and the dinner/bar service personnel were beyond excellent. It's their first week and rather than seeming stressed, they were jazzed! The ticket price was so reasonable --the same as a movie and popcorn--that we'll go back frequently. The round tables are small for obvious reasons, but they pushed our tables together so our group could eat and talk. We had a great view of the band. The food is simple but I'm hoping they expand their plates to have a few veges on them too. I had the cod with grits--lots of grits! The room is and elegant two tones of grey; the walls are not yet decorated. I suspect a little more warmth, color and texture is in the future decoration plan. So thrilled to see something new starting up again. We intend to be part of their success.

Wowza and Hooray. A new jazz club opened tonight and oh boy it was fun. Clairdee with the David Udolf Trio setting the tone of what's to come. History was made tonight. I felt as if our city's heart started to beat again. Thanks to the staff and Simon for really bringing some authentic art to the Bay Area! Clairdee we love you

Everything was good. From the staff, to food(although the menu is small) and the ambiance. Great date night idea.

What a joy! When we met a million years ago, you could swing a cat and hit a live music venue, be it jazz, pop, even chamber music with high brow tea service all in the beautiful city by the bay. It's great that jazz is back in a big way and Keys is doing it's part honoring the original American music export, in ways that honor SFs historically hip vibrant local jazz scene. Local artists are a big feature, some who have recordings and some who aspire too. Organ Saturday I think they call it, featuring the Hammond organ that sits majestically in its permanent perch on stage left. The drinks are strong, the food which we didn't try looked decent. But we were there for the Muzak man. It was so fun we stayed to the second artist who's inspired by the late great Joey D'franchesco. Brian Ho is fantastic on the Hammond... we ol folks have a hard time staying up past 11. But he was cooking til about 1:00 am Wow, you know it was happening if we hung in there til the end. While SF jazz is our sanctuary for jazz in the Ci-Tay, we are over the moon that this fun clean well appointed club and bar has appeared on the north side of town telegraph hill ish. Trust me if you like live music in the heart of things this is a must visit!

Love this place! It is great to have a jazz club open up on Broadway. We have been twice and can't wait to go again. The food is great and the jazz is just fantastic. The owners Simon and Eric were there both times, greeting us when we arrived and checking in with us at the end of the night to see how things were. There is a lot of love and attentiveness that has gone into creating this venue and providing an overall top notch experience. Pro Tip: Get there early! Grab some food and drink before the show. The fist time we went we got there right as the show started and most everyone had eaten and had drinks. The second time, we got there early and had a great meal and were more in tune with the flow of the night!

Outstanding new venue to catch some great live Jazz in North Beach. Very comfortable seating and sightlines and the sound was excellent. Small menu of appetizers and a couple of entrees pair well with the impressive list of wines and cocktails. Wonderful addition to the area for quality live music.

We had a lovely up close and personal experience last night at Keys, with Ron Jackson and his 7string guitar. It was my husband's birthday, so we chose to have an inspiration of jazz with dinner. The fish and grits dinner was kickingly delicious and the pesto prawn salad was a big tasty star for me. You must checkout this little slice of heaven. Especially, if you are a jazz fan. You'll not be disappointed.

Great new place in town for Jazz. We went to the opening weekend (Saturday night - second show). We enjoyed a cocktail in the lobby / lounge area while the previous show was wrapping up. We went in a few minutes after the doors opened for our show and picked out some good seats - most of the seats in there are good though I can see if you are in the very back or the back corner you have some obstructions. Service was good and attentive. The sound was excellent and the music was great. We just had cocktails and didn't try the food. Cocktails were well made. There were just 2 of us so we joined a woman sitting by herself at a 4-top and had a great time. Turns out she just came from a performance in the smaller venue at the Jazz Center - a true night of Jazz for her. Keys does have some wrinkles to work out - which is to be expected for a new place. Hopefully they will (none of them are un-fixable): - They have a single very bright spot mounted on the ceiling towards the back that also shines on the tables in front of the stage. The problem is that it really lights up the people sitting up front (vs on the stage) and if you are sitting towards the side and thus looking sideways, you get blinded by the light. they need to put barn doors on the spot to block the excess light from the shining directly on the crowd. - The should consider raising the back bench seats in the performance area. Behind the initial tables in front of the stage is a long high table with bar-stool typed seating on both sides - which gives them a great view of the stage. Unfortunately they completely block the view from the bench seating in the back - clearly a design oversight. So either lower the long high table and chairs (they really don't need to be that tall) or raise the bench seating in the back. - The lounge/bar/waiting area was a bit cold - aesthetically and temperature wise. It has the makings of a nice space to hang before and after the show, but they need more wall decorations and to tone down the lighting just a bit. I'd suggest they hang some pictures of musicians playing at the El Matador (on this site in the '50s and '60s) or other North Beach or SF Jazz venues of the past (The Jazz Workshop, The Cellar, The Blackhawk, etc.). And as far as the temperature, maybe close the front door on a cold night - any seats near the door were quite cold. - They were limited on cocktail mixers. Also the bartenders weren't the most experienced, but were willing to learn (I ordered a somewhat basic cocktail that they didn't know, but they ended up making it quite well). We will certainly be back and look forward to many more performances here. And I'll be interested to see if some of the improvements have been made so that we can raise them up to the 5 stars I really want to give them.

Im glad a new venue opened in SF. I dont think there are any jazz clubs like this in SF anymore so it's great to see a bit of a resurgence of the scene, plus adding to the diversity of nightlife options in north beach. We need more live music in SF! They have like 2-3 shows a night and they're pretty damn cheap too I think like $25. I really enjoyed the vibe and my time here and I thought my waitress was fantastic. I do wish that someday they can expand their whiskey selection since I'm becoming more of an on the rocks type of guy than cocktails. My one gripe about this place though is that the sightlines in the back part of the room suck ass. If you're late you're stuck in that corner where there is a pillar blocking your view but the biggest gripe is the seating around the bar in the back. You sort have people sitting on both sides of this bar thing facing one way but your sightline is completely screwed if you're in the 2nd row because someone's head is in the sightline. The front row has to sit awkwardly with their back to the bar and someone had their plate on their lap as they ate. I'd recommend they drop the bar seating and change it to the lower seats and have side tables for their drinks and food so this would create an unobstructed view for the 2nd row and the back bench. Other than that I hope to be back for some live music!

An intimate venue in North Beach to see live Jazz. I have been there twice and both shows (House Jazz and Latin Jazz) were great. Seats are close to the stage, and to me it feels like being in a West Village Jazz club because you are closer to the performers. Tickets are typically $25, and there are 2-3 shows per night, I pre-purchased our tickets. Great wine and cocktail offerings. Excellent hospitality- easy check-in/seating, and drink service. I'm looking forward to going to many more shows.

If I can give this place 6 stars, I would. Great atmosphere, amazing bar, great music. Definitely a great addition to San Francisco!

Attended our second show at Keys Jazz Bistro this last Friday night. The listening room where the jazz artists perform is set up with excellent sight lines and affords one of the most intimate venues to enjoy top notch jazz. We were digging the performance of Nicolas Payton, Wil Shields, and Otis McDonald @ the nearly sold out 7 pm set. 70-plus minutes of groove-laden jazz, a nice wine and spirits selection, combined with top notch service make Keys a perfect night out for anyone with a yen for great jazz! We'll be back!!

We had a fabulous evening listening to Jazz, drinking from an amazing wine list, having a lovely meal and all accompanied w/great service. What a lovely time--we'll be back--THX!

This place was super cute and their bathrooms are super clean and nice. They had a bouquet of flowers in there. The staff is super welcoming as well wish their portions were larger though. But their live performances are amazing! Love the vibes of this place. Great place to chill out and grab a drink even if you're not there for the music.

I'm so thrilled Keys opened in my neighborhood!! We went there last night and saw a remarkable Latin jazz band, they rocked! The owners are so nice and welcoming and it has a neighborhood feel. Almost every seat has a great view of the stage.

Ever since Keys opened just a few months ago, it has become a regular part of our date night rotation, and we've stopped in both on rainy weekday nights and weekend evenings for their late-night sets. It's an intimate venue to see a lot of local Bay Area artists showcase their talents and music. We also really appreciate how reasonably priced the shows are for such high quality music - jazz that doesn't break the bank! There is also a full bar and a menu of cocktails and small bites to complement the music. It's clear that the team at Keys has a lot of passion and heart for jazz and for sharing it with others.

We went for the Kenny Washington week-end: totally wonderful. The venue is chic, the service is attentive, the host a delight. The place was packed in a good way. Our large party felt intimate. The kitchen needs work: some portions were too small (ONE potato skin? ONE taco?) and most need a little more accompaniment (coq au vin with broth but nothing to sop it up -- noodles? grits?). But I suspect these are kinks that will be worked out. The Nero d'avola wine was lovely and reasonable. We will be regulars!

Such a NICE addition to the North Beach Jazz music scene - good food & cocktails too. AND you can bring the kids! Reasonable cost and very friendly staff. Top quality musicians every week. THANK YOU, KEYS!

A new and intimate Jazz venue at San Francisco. Wonderful ambiance, small tables next to the stage, drinks, and good food. Cover cost is modest and food prices very reasonable. It reminds me of the Jazz clubs in NYC. This is the kind of clubs that San Francisco needs. I will come back again!

All I can say is WOW!! The club is only two weeks old and one never knows what to expect. First of all the club is intimate and luxurious. Secondly, the staff was attentive and courteous. Most importantly the set led by club owner Simon was top notch and on a par with some of the best jazz clubs I have been too. Such a lovely evening led by people who truly love their craft.

Wow, blown away. This is a legit jazz club. Beautiful space and the musicians were incredible. Finally SF has a cool spot like this! Definitely recommend. I noticed some people were there on their own just enjoying the music and some went in groups. That's cool because it could also be a nice way to meet people!
