KFC Puts $6 Million Toward Reducing Inequality in Louisville, Kentucky | Eater

"As part of a $100 million corporate initiative launched amid Black Lives Matter protests, the fried-chicken brand is directing $6 million toward charities and programs in its Louisville hometown — the city associated with Breonna Taylor's killing — funding college scholarships for Black students, teacher development, and grants to Louisville-based Black entrepreneurs; company leadership frames the effort as a long-term push to tackle inequality by partnering with local businesses, governments, schools, and philanthropists who know the issues and affected communities." - Jaya Saxena

When I saw this KFC in the airport, I excitedly thought I've got to try Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kentucky. What a letdown. The cashier struggled to ring up my order. This location only serves tenders and sandwiches and not actual bone-in chicken pieces. The food was okay but certainly nothing to write home about ... especially at inflated airport prices.

Taste horrible. Chicken tenders over cooked and greasy . They used very old cooking oil thus you could taste greasy chicken.

One of the better KFCs I've been to in my life. It wasn't screaming with red color everywhere and the hot wings felt very fresh.

FOOD POISONING!! AVOID!!! Husband ate chicken tenders here Sunday 9/29/24 around 12:00pm. He's sick as a dog, with diarrhea beginning at 3am 9/30/24 and very sick now. Yes, it was this place that gave food poisoning to him. We've been in the restaurant business for 45 years in Houston, Texas so don't play us. We know what we're talking about. It was KFC that gave it to him.

Totally overpriced, even for an airport. Otherwise average standard.

It was edible. Mostly. I got the breakfast bowl and it was… not great. Somehow they made the gravy semi-transparent. How? I have no idea. It was 12$ and everything was just dry and somehow mushy at the same time. Not worth it.

I only ordered one large fry. The fries were not hot, luke warm and mostly cold. They were also extremely salty. Only ate less than handful but couldn’t continue eating them because they were so salty and nasty. It literally gave me a headache. After reexamining the cook area I saw that the fries were sitting out in huge batch. The fries were that was not warmed by a adequate lamp and appeared to be old. When I asked for refund Lisa refused. Lisa the manager was extremely rude and condescending. She claimed that I ate half the bag but in reality I only ate a few. I’m so disappointed and upset. It resulted in me not getting any fries, being disrespected and my money gone. I’m writing into corporate because no one should treated that way nor receive nasty food.

Yelp
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Prices are about normal. Not inflated prices just because it's a captive audience at the airport, in fact quite reasonable.

Yelp
This KFC is located in the airport. When we were coming to the airport last week for a flight decide to stop and get some food and I hit up this KFC. I got a chicken sandwich and it was around five bucks I think and I don't know if it's inflation for airport food or not but it was a solid sandwich and I got to take some cool pictures of the colonel that is posted up outside so I really liked it yeah it was a cool little thing and I like seeing public art and statues and monuments so that added some extra flare

Yelp
Doesn't do any good to do an online order.......I ordered when I was half way between jtown and old preston and it STILL isn't ready 6 minutes after I arrive and 14 min la5er than they said..... do better kfc

Yelp
Fast and friendly service, food was hot and fresh I got the tender big box, mash potatoes/gravy and Mac n cheese. Everything was great. My only complaint is that they don't carry the actual chicken on the bone. Which is odd considering it's Kentucky fried chicken....

Yelp
KFC is probably not the spot you think of when you decide to have lunch with your mom before she flies out to Cuba but it was for me. Chicken is not just a meal type for me or just simple food. It is soul food, and if I had a soul, it would definitely be made of chicken. As soon as I saw the three big letters I decided I wanted a famous bowl. I had a side of Mac n cheese and coleslaw. The Mac n cheese was ok, nothing to run home about and the coleslaw was pretty bad. But we don't go to KFC for coleslaw now do we? Nope. We definitely go for the chicken and in that department they definitely got it right. KFC obviously have their special recipe and way of meal prepping that each one theoretically follows and that's why it comes out good across the board at most KFC chains. The famous bowl hits the spot every time, and this time was no exception. Their biggest flaw was the service, don't get me wrong it was prompt and fast but they just seemed like they were annoyed to have us there. They weren't busy, it's not like they had a huge line and were trying to get us ordered and out quick. No, they simply didn't seem like they wanted to help us and that's a big no no for me. I'll be stopping by here again for sure though for that famous bowl, until next time conveniently placed airport KFC!

Yelp
I will never eat at this location! Had a friend that came in town and they wanted KFC we stopped there and we saw mice and rats running back and forth in the kitchen. When we spoke to Teresa she blew us off like we didn't see anything. She was very rude and nasty. We wanted to speak to the owner George Tinsley and he never responded. We saw a mouse run over an employee's foot and he quit on the spot! The mice had gotten into the bread and you could see mice droppings in the kitchen. I'm sure it's not just there, Starbucks and Burger Academy are in close proximity so trust me they probably have the same problem. They were also seen in the dining area as well.

Yelp
Dry and chewy food and dry, crusty service. I'll never throw away money at KFC again. Extremely disappointing experience.

Yelp
Not closed despite what yelp says. It's located just before TSA check point inside the airport. If you order a breakfast biscuit it always seems to be a four minute wait while they "drop a biscuit." Why they never have any ready is beyond me.

Yelp
This is the least crispy old KFC I've ever had. Way overpriced. Staff rude. Coleslaw was the only thing I could eat.

Yelp
Zero customer service. Food was cold. Two drink available at the machine. Literally the slowest person ever running the counter, at an airport, where people are in a rush. I mean I don't expect much from fast food but this was soooooo bad. Also, it like the first KFC people see when they arrive IN Kentucky. Terrible representation of the brand.

Yelp
Your standard KFC. A good stop before your flight. Avoid the popcorn chicken (it's a lot of breading) and get the hot wings. Have a great flight!

John H.

Yelp
Chicken good. Customer service horrible . Staff is eating and drinking and having food time. Sole customer is distraction. No thank you or please or any sort of KY hospitality. Poor.

Yelp
Food court outside of American Airlines gate. Inside tsa is twice as much for the restaurants Standard kfc fare because I'm desperate. Two notes. Serves Coke products which is nice as this seems to be a Pepsi city and all you can drink sodas which is unique for an airport. Decent amount of seating.
