Khao Kwan Restaurant ( ร้านอาหาร ข้าว ขวัญ )

Every dish was beautifully presented, and even the tableware and hand towels were of high quality—the towels even had a faint fruity fragrance. I recommend coming with at least three people, because each dish is not only delicious but also visually stunning; having more people allows you to try a wider variety. The only downside is that parking can be a bit difficult, but it doesn’t affect the overall excellence of the restaurant. This Thai restaurant is truly unique and different from others. With such presentation and flavor, the pricing is extremely reasonable. It was one of the most memorable experiences during my visit to Koh Chang.

Exceptional Thai Fine Dining! We had an amazing evening at Khao Kwan. The food was beautifully presented and full of authentic Thai flavor — clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. Our waiter Harry was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and really brought the dishes to life with his explanations. This place strikes a perfect balance between elegance and warmth. Highly recommended if you’re looking for refined Thai food in a relaxed, stylish setting.

I have been to Thailand 3 times, and am in love with the culture, people and the food. But this restaurant is a game changer! Ive eaten at different Michelin star restaurants, but considering the food this place takes the crown of subtle flavours, harmonious flow of dishes with great presentation. I never eaten 2 times at the same restaurant in Thailand, but I made a reservation for next Monday when paying the bill. I got to try all the dishes..

Lovely restaurant with unique dishes that focuses on floral notes. Plus point is that they have gluten free dishes for those who have to be cautious. The staff were friendly and the place was well decorated. No complaints from my husband and I 💖

Food was stunning, well decorated, and fresh. There are not many tables so reservation is highly recommended. Price is reasonable. The male staff (who took care of reservation paper at cashier couter) tried to put us on the table next to main street, even I had informed him and another female staff "3 times" that I had been told to be seated on the 2nd floor! I asked them back is there any free table on the 2nd floor? Then they said yes, and put us on the 2nd floor after I confirmed them 3times about my table (as I had been told on the phone) on the 2nd floor. It would be acceptable if I had been informed about this outside table on the phone when I first called, and there were free tables left both before/after my dining time on the 2nd floor so why did these two staffs try to put me on the outside table? I meant what is the point of enjoying and appreciation beautiful food that is nicely prepared on the main street where it is full by dust? If I had no reservation, then, yes I "may" sit there. But I walked in before and the resto was full, except tables outside. So I came back the other day with a reservation, hoping to get a table anywhere but not outside.

One of the most impressive and beautiful restaurants I’ve visited during my stay in Thailand. The dishes are not only of exceptional quality but also artistically presented. Every dish is perfectly balanced, with unique flavor combinations that elevate Thai cuisine to an entirely new and innovative level. The atmosphere is extraordinary: surrounded by lush plants and accompanied by soothing music, you feel transported to another world – even though the restaurant is located right next to a busy street. The service is incredibly friendly, making the experience absolutely flawless. The photos of the dishes alone speak for themselves – they’re reason enough to visit. But the quality and overall experience make this restaurant a must-visit!

The place is not air conditioned, but the servers kindly brought out standing fans which were more than enough to cool us down in the 1pm heat. My wife and I ordered the curry duck, the khao som (curry noodles) and the grilled fish with flower salad. Each dish was amazing and a stunning work of art. Each dish was beautifully decorated with local herbs and flowers, giving a lovely herbal/floral note to everything. A mild complaint that the fish was overcooked, but i cant bear to drop the rating down because of it. The ice cream was a beautiful textural experience with red rubies, diced fruit, nipa seeds and popped rice. The portions were large, and for how fancy the place was, not overwhelmingly expensive (~2 times the average in the region, but well worth it)

We ordered the set for 2. The food was delicious and beautiful, but the portions were really small and it was one of each for both of us. The set is definitely not enough for 2 persons and also some of the dishes it was hard to be eaten from two (like the curry or the deserts), it would be better if each got a portion. Also the service was slow, there was only one server for the whole second floor (about 5-6) tables.
