12 Hottest Restaurants in the Triangle, February 2025

"The recently opened Khao Sen is bringing the kind of flavors more often found in Cary and Morrisville to the outer Wake County suburbs and so far the public seems to be loving it. Located in Fuquay-Varina, Khao Sen’s faithful Thai menu revolves around both rice (Khao) and noodle (Sen) dishes and avoids typical Americanized dishes like pad Thai or generic “green curry”. Instead, try the khao soi, a Northern-Thai curry with chicken in a fragrant broth alongside egg noodles and herbs. The ba mii moo daeng is akin to a Thai version of a meat-and-three, with slow-roasted pork shoulder, pork and shrimp dumplings, bok choy, cilantro, scallion, and crispy wontons, egg noodles, and served with a side of pork broth. There are spicy chicken wings, handmade spring rolls, and a very autumnal dish — the kuay tiew neur, a brothy soup with rice noodles, sliced New York strip steak, stewed beef, beef tendon, beef balls, cilantro, scallion, and Chinese broccoli." - Matt Lardie

Our first time out to Khao Sen was wonderful! Our server, Becca was super friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. It can sometimes be difficult to find really good, authentic Thai food in the Raleigh area, but this place nails it! The peach tea was not only pretty to look at, but also refreshing and with a wonderful light flavor (I got half sweet). Both appetizers pictured: Kanom Jeep and the Tofu Tod were our personal favorites! My main was the Khao Kai Yang (chicken dish) and it was also really tasty. I thought the prices were reasonable. 10/10. We will be back!

We were here for a weekday lunch, wasn’t busy. hope they get good crowd soon. Our waiter, she did great, helped us to table, explained the dishes and overall served us well. The food, portion size will be the only motivation for us to go back to this restaurant. The salmon lacked seasoning, the green curry was too watery, the BBQ pork was very cold so it might have come straight from the fridge. Hopefully the food tastes gets better soon and will get back here someday.

Update: We ordered crab sticks, spicy chicken wings, and dumplings via GrubHub. All good!!! It was our first time trying Thai cuisine and visiting Khao Sen. Both experiences were excellent. We went for lunch on a Monday at about 1:00 pm, so it wasn't busy. The restaurant is clean, spacious, comfortable and well-lit. It's a casual setting. Melissa, our server, was a true professional who answered our questions and made terrific recommendations. We desired less spicy dishes. The steamed dumpling appetizer, duck, rice, veggies, and pork ribs were tender and well-marinated. Even the passion fruit tea was delicious. The meal arrived quick, fresh, hot, and flavorful. We are looking forward to being repeat customers!

A Truly Elevated Dining Experience at Khao Sen We had an incredible meal at Khao Sen that left us absolutely impressed and feeling great. The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly clean and nourishing. There was none of that heavy, sluggish feeling you often get after dining out. In fact, the experience reminded me of eating in Europe, where quality ingredients and balance are at the forefront of every dish. The Moonlit Matcha was a standout. It was creamy, lightly sweet, and refreshing with coconut and pandan flavors that linger just enough to keep you reaching for more. It was unlike anything I’ve had locally. The Khao Soi was a knockout and absolutely hit. Comforting, rich, and perfectly spiced with bold yet smooth flavors that wrapped around every bite. The vegetarian soup bowl was also delicious. The broth was deeply satisfying and the variety of ingredients was great. If I had one recommendation, it would be to add a bit more seasoning or complexity to the vegetables themselves, but the dish as a whole was still a winner. And don’t even get me started on the mango sticky rice…WOW! The mango was incredibly fresh, sweet, and ripe. Paired with the beautifully hued sticky rice and coconut drizzle, it was the perfect finish to a thoughtful meal. The ambiance was welcoming, the presentation elegant, and everything felt intentional, from the food to the tea service. This is a place that clearly takes pride in both quality and experience. Highly recommend!

We drove out from Durham to try this restaurant and it was absolutely worth it. The food was so flavorful and fresh. We really enjoyed the crab omelette (served over fried rice) and the noodle seafood special. Becca, our server was so friendly and helped us navigate my husband's coconut allergy. We will definitely be back.

Google
This place was great. The food was surprisingly tasty and very authentic. We got the gyoza and veggie spring rolls to start, then I got the vegetable stir-fry as well as the daily special spritzer and the Thai Tea dessert. Never had anything quite like that and it was delicious. I'll definitely be back!

Google
Recently tried this restaurant for the very first time. My first experience was takeout and my second experience was DoorDash. I cannot say enough amazing things about this new gem that I found. It has what feels like a fusion of flavors within the Thai culture. Whether I did takeout or order delivery, food was consistently hot and delicious. I love that all the flavors work well together and really speak to the pallet. Definitely recommend anybody looking for a new place to try If you’re in the mood for something incredible!

Absolutely delicious! The Khaosen was rich, flavorful, and perfectly crispy and comforting. The green curry was a standout too—with just the right amount of heat, packed with fresh vegetables . You can really taste the balance of spices and care put into each dish. Portion sizes were generous and the presentation was beautiful. Staff was very kind specially Alexa. . Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went here last night on a Friday evening around 6:45. They were busy but we were were seated right away. I'm not a big boba/tea/Thai coffee guy but my wife and daughter were thrilled with their drink menu. We started with 2 apps of the crispy veggy spring rolls and the crab sticks. Both came with a Thai chili sauce to dip and both were very good. The crab sticks were crab Rangoon like. My daughter had the salmon which she really enjoyed and it came with rice. I had the curry shrimp meal at a medium and it was really good and not overly hot. The highlight was my wife's fried soft shell crab. It was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The restaurant is cozy with plenty of natural light. The menu is nice and not your standard boring pad Thai or drunken noodle dishes. The service was great and pricing was very reasonable. I thought the food was better than Osha in Holly Springs, which I also like. The only negative was the noise level but I'm fairly certain that was due to a large table nearby with probably 5 kids under 10 who were running around a bit and yelling. It was hard to hear our waitress or for us to even converse. We will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Yes- it's as good as everyone says. Such a chill, bright restaurant. Nice friendly servers; most amazing mango sticky rice I've ever had; beautiful drinks; and the khao soi Super authentic tastes!! Please open a location in Cary/Apex one day!!! But until then, I'll definitely make the drive down here again to try more things!

Yelp
What amazing food! We had an early mother's day dinner and it was better than we could have imagined. Each of us was blown away by how tasty the dishes are. Appetizer was crispy spring rolls (not pictured). Service was excellent, price was fair. This just may be the tastiest Thai place in Wake County!

Yelp
Lovely moderately sized restaurant in a cute shopping center off Judd parkway. We were seated within minutes of walking in. The menu was easy to read, and the staff were gracious and offered suggestions. The food was both great tasting and great quality. Would recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband took me here for Mother's Day lunch. First time. Service was excellent and the food was fresh. We started with the tofu appetizer. I had the duck and rice. My son had the chicken and rice and my husband had the tom ka soup. He asked for medium spice and ended up adding more spice. All very good. Will go back.

Yelp
Inside looks simple, tidy, serene and well-lit. Not sure how pack it gets but there are plenty of seating and looks like it's good for groups too. Food was great and if you like curry, I suggest Khao Soi. Other fam members like theirs too and our bowls looked clean after trying to eat every single piece or crumb of whatever. #latelunch LOL. The pork noodles come with a cup of soup too. They have kids meal but doesn't include any drink not side, which was a kinda pricey, esp for chicken fried rice. Although it would work as a main meal for an adult like me too, then it becomes affordable! LOL. Close to a residential area so there's a lot of to-go orders. Doesn't look like it affects the time of service for diners though. Definitely recommending for whatever reason - date, friends meal out, noodle craving, boba craving...

Yelp
If I could give them 10 stars I would. We just came back from Thailand and this food was on par. We started with the crab sticks and dumplings which were just amazing. My wife got the Sausage fried rice which she loved. I got the Khao Soi. I was in Chaing Mai Heaven. It was delicious. We ended with Sticky Rice with Mango. Just perfect. The staff here was so nice and welcoming and we loved the modern decor. We will 100% come back and very soon. You will tell me Kop Kun Ka if you come here.

Yelp
Very impressed with Khao Sen. atmosphere was great, food was amazing, and had a great drink selection. The food was fresh and fragrant and we felt the portion was great for the price. Had great service today too.

Yelp
I've had Khao Sen to-go twice now, and I've loved it! Their food is amazing and somehow gives me a "Thai meets Vietnamese" tease. I'm obsessed with their Thai tea with boba, and the sweet sausage fried rice is my all-time favorite. This restaurant is a go-to for the hubs and I, and we're so glad you're near. Cheers!

Christine B.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious food! I keep meaning to go back. Wonderful atmosphere & stellar service.

Yelp
Came by on a Friday night and was seated pretty quickly. The interior is cute and minimal, but I would have loved to see some Thai traditional decor or art. It needed just a little bit more color. Our server was great and gave suggestions based on our spice tolerance. FYI: Thai dishes at a medium level are very minor spice, but if you choose hot or Thai hot, they will have you sweating! We ordered our drinks (lychee lemonade and a beer) and I was obsessed with the lychee! With really lychee bits inside, I had to make sure I finished all of it before leaving. I plan to order a drink here again on another hot day - it was so refreshing! For food, we ordered the khao soi, the crab omelette with rice berry (aka purple rice) and the pork pad krapow special. All three dishes were delicious so flavorful! 9/10 HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
We have driven by a couple of times but weren't sure if it was open. I'm soooo glad it is. A must try. The restaurant is clean and spacious with a great ambiance. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were seated right away. The server recommended some favorites and they were amazing. We had a variety of dishes with noodles and rice. The food was incredibly flavorful and aromatic I will definitely be coming back here often. If you are in the area or not, it's a must try. Amazing!

Yelp
This was my first time visiting on a Sunday during lunch. As it is in a newly developed location, the area looks empty with plenty of parking with tons of room for more businesses. Khao Sen looks to be one of its earliest businesses to be up and running. The place was super clean and had a nice minimalist aesthetic. I got a Thai coffee and it was delicious. Everyone else's drinks looked super pretty (fruit teas were ombre colored!). The food was amazing as well, and comes with a big portion size. I got the crab omelette rice and tried my best to eat up to 3/4 of it before I was so full that I cannot eat anymore! Service was also great. Becca was the name of my server, and she was attentive and made sure our table had space from our appetizer to our main courses and checked on extra sauces and anything else we needed. I would love to come back again soon!

Yelp
Newly nestled among the Retreat Luxury Apartments is probably the one reason I'd use the word "luxury" in this context. They are nice enough units, but this restaurant provides a meaningful upgrade. Not only is it cool for residents (of whom I'm close with 2) to have dining options on-site, but Khao Sen is a total winner. Clean and vibrant, with windows all around, they offer a takeout window, a small bar area, two separate restroom stations, and drinks for liver damage as well as liver cleansing. It appeals to everyone. Everyone who loves Thai food, that is. With a full menu, Khao Sen offers a rockstar Kai Zaap spicy Thai chicken wings appetizer, going from mild to hot. I'm practicing for the day I get invited to appear on "Hot Ones," so I chose their spiciest option. It was good, but even better with the chili dipping sauce. Because of a Yelper's online photo, I ordered the Crab Pancake, and it was delectable. However, they are rather stingy on the "crab" part. With a few pieces strewn about on top, the filling is all rice. If you don't mind picking quality over quantity, the pancake dish will leave you satisfied. Gonna say it again though - stingy with the crab! Dessert was the Thai donuts, and man were they delicious. Described as "light and fluffy with a sweet glaze," they tasted as good as the photo looks. It was later in the day, so I didn't choose a coffee, but these delights would go awesomely with a Brown Sugar Milk Tea or maybe a Taro Milk. Instead, I drank the Citrus Yu, which was beautiful to look at, but leaned on the average side. New place, so parking was nothing, but I can see these guys catching fame quickly once all the residents get wind of their opening. Every dish is Instagram-worthy and the service was attentive and helpful. All the best.

Yelp
This place is not what I was expecting for a Thai restaurant. My girlfriend's kids are Thai-born so I've eaten a lot of Thai food at a lot of places. The kids weren't especially thrilled with their food when they came another time without me. This restaurants is missing a lot of the traditional dishes such as pad Thai...I was completely disappointed this wasn't on the menu...as well as Thai curry dishes. I started with the crispy crab sticks which was pretty much crab rangoon in an egg roll instead of its normal shape. It was actually pretty good and probably my favorite things so far. The second thing I had was the salmon yum. It had no flavor at all and for raw fish, the color was very very muted which usually indicates low quality--I eat a ton of sushi weekly and debated on actually eating this. It wasn't cold either so that made me a bit concerned. For my main course I did the Khao Na Ped which is a duck based meal. The food was cooked perfectly but versus the flavorful Thai dishes that I'm used to I just found that most of the items lacked a lot of flavor and tasted very plain and mild. Everything looked pretty and was served quickly. As for the service, it could be a lot better especially at the price point. After I made my order I didn't see my server again until it was time for the check. This was a bit disappointing since I needed a refill and I had to flag down the hostess to get it for me. She did reappear when it was time to bring the check and claim a tip but where was she when I needed her? Never saw her out and they weren't busy, I was probably 1 of 5 tables in the entire restaurant. I will try it again but I don't see it being my go to for Thai food. Thai Thai and Osha in Holly Springs both have excellent Thai dishes and at a lot better value. I might have just talked myself into Thai takeout right now from one of them as I'm writing this review.

Yelp
This newly opened restaurant was impressive: the menu was simple but food was delicious. Service was excellent and ambience was pleasant. The prices were reasonable. I was amazed to see even it was located in a newer housing development at middle of nowhere, the restaurant still had a lots of people, a good indicator of a good restaurant.

Yelp
Wow! So excited that this outstanding restaurant has opened. The simple, clean decor and the outstanding presentation made this a meal to remember. Our server was enthusiastic and said she also loved the entrees we selected. The only change I would make is to sim the lights a little. It's really bright and doesn't need to be. Keep the clean aesthetic and lower the lights - it'll be more welcoming

Yelp
The owners are awesome people. Friends, this place is still very good. Always like to come 2 and 3 times to the same place to see if the quality of food stays the same and if the taste is always there, it's on point. I highly recommend this place. There's nothing negative. I can say about anything. I transpired on my visit today. The Fuquay Marina area this is Asian bistro at its finest.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised to find great authentic Thai food here! You won't find Pad Thai here but that's A okay! The Goong Karee brought back memories of Bangkok. The crab omelette was cooked just nice. Grill pork was so yummy with the dipping sauce. And finally, they Thai custard for dessert was just nice and not too sweet!
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
This new cute Thai spot is now open in Fuquay-Varina. We dined in for dinner and I started off with a Singha beer and my husband ordered a honey lavendar milk tea tea then we split the krab sticks and vegetable gyoza. For our entrees it was the Khao Pad Sun Chiang (fried rice with sweet sausage) and a Thai tea for my husband and the Khao Goong Katiem (white rice with sautéed shrimp) and lychee sake for me. The food, drinks and service were all really good. The only complaint that we had was the small amount of sweet sausage to rice for the Khao Pad Sun Chiang. I recommend making a reservation online so you do not have to wait.

Yelp
I've vistas 2x in person since they opened! This time I ordered take out, and THIS is what a takeout order should look like!!! Perfectly packaged to give me the vibes of they care about their food, presentation, and overall customer service!! Superb! Arrived hot, FRESH, and delicious as always. My taste buds were having a field day! I also ordered a side of rice, and vegetable gozo dumplings with a Citrus Yu boba drink which was epically refreshing. My heart is full, and extremely grateful for this experience!

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Had the NY strip steak over white rice. It was good but I was surprised it was sliced so thin. I asked if they had Jasmine rice and they didn't but had fried rice which I ordered. I was shocked when I got the bill and found out it was a $4.00 up charge! Wow! The manager did offer to take it off, which was appreciated. Don't know if I'd dine there again. Pricey place for lunch.

Yelp
I think this place has so much potential because every single item on their menu sounds super unique and delicious from the food to the drinks. I would want to come back to try their other items because all the food items we got (except the dessert) were good but not amazing. The Tom yum noodle soup was both me and my partner's favorite of the items we got. It was really good but I felt like the sourness of the fish sauce was too strong and the soup could use more tamarind to bring out the sour of tom yum more, and/or could use more savoriness to balance because the sour was strong, but not in a Tom yum way. I like the variety of toppings they include in it though. The sweet sausage fried rice was good! It felt like a Vietnamese broken rice dish meets fried rice with the cucumbers and fish sauce. The fish sauce adds tanginess and spice to a savory fried rice but use to your discretion. I think it wasn't anything special other than the sweet sausage and Chinese broccoli they threw in which was a nice Asian spin on fried rice. The soft shell crab was decent, it had a LOT of onions. I don't mind having a lot of onions, but I think maybe the crab should've been on top of the bed of vegetables or maybe chop the vegetables smaller and highlight the flavors of the crab more? It was a good dish but again, the crab flavors were like the onion and bell pepper flavors so nothing wowed. We got the the Thai iced tea which my partner thought was refreshing. It does taste like Thai tea meets iced tea which was cool! I got the lychee limeades fizzy which also comes with lychee jellies. It was pretty good and tasted the way it sounds. The least favorite part was the Thai tea custard. Maybe we don't actually know what Thai tea custard is but we were expecting a custard flan type of dessert that's Thai tea flavored. Instead it was more like Thai tea flavored condensed milk with warm sweet bread to dip.. Would not recommend this one unless that sounds like what you want! The service was good and the place is cute. I think if they ironed out the flavors of their dishes it would be amazing because they have all the ingredients and the concept that make it exciting.

Yelp
Khao Sen is a brightly open space with delicious, fresh options. Our waitress, Becca, was incredibly friendly, timely, and provided great recommendations. She checked on us frequently to ensure we were happy with our food. We ordered the wings and Crispy Krab Sticks and each plate was 10/10. I ordered the Tom Kha Goong and while my family thoroughly enjoyed their meals, they kept trying to take bites of mine :-). Khao Sen is a great addition to the area. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the owner is the same as Osha in Holly Springs. We can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, and authentic Ordered the veggie rice add chicken and a Thai tea.

Yelp
Words cannot express how happy I am to have found this place so close to me! After living in Las Vegas for 26 years and moving to NC, I've struggled to find great Thai food. I found this one on instagram and decided to give it a try. I like that their menu has some unique offerings. We tried the fried soft shell crab, the bbq pork noodles, and the sweet sausage fried rice. Every dish was amazing! The soft shell crab was cooked perfectly and accompanied by sautéed veggies that gave the perfect crunch and flavor. We ordered a medium spicy level and it didn't disappoint. The bbq pork noodles included some wontons and broth which could be added to the dish or dipped separately. The bbq pork was delicious and had the perfect soft texture. The sweet sausage fried rice was so good! By adding the fish sauce that came with it, the sweet and salty combination can't be beat! We also ordered a pink milk tea and a matcha one as well. Both drinks were tasty and refreshing. Becca was our server and she was so attentive and accommodating even during a busy dinner service. She took time to answer any questions we had and consistently checked on us. I'm so happy this place exists and I can't wait to go back and try more amazing food!

Chris S.

Yelp
First trip to Khao Sen proved the ratings are correct. Wife had bbq pork noodles, I had a seafood noodle special. Both were delicious. Small but high quality wine selection - the Rose was excellent, with a generous pour. Rachelle provided informative, engaged service. Ambience is causal, noise level low-moderate.
google avatar

Eboni S.

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute! Very minimalist and clean cut - very much a vibe. I've only ever gotten my food to-go, so I can't really speak to the sit-down service, but my orders were always promptly made and waiting for me on arrival. I've tried a few dishes, including: - Kanom jeep: very tasty - Kai zaap: rather bland - definitely needed the sauce to give it a flavor boost. - Krong pad prik: also a bit of a letdown flavor-wise - Tom kha goong: great if you're into the Tom kha style of flavor. It wasn't my favorite, but I think that's because I have a different profile I enjoy. - Goong karee: my least favorite and by far the blandest. Not sure what happened with that dish. But the best of all: - Pu Nim: hands down my favorite dish and what will keep me coming back. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. The heat level was exactly what I wanted (if I'm not second-guessing my life choices, it's not hot enough). Overall, it's not your typical Thai restaurant that I think most people think of when they envision the cuisine, so I think it'll just take some getting used to. I'd like to try more dishes to see if anything else stands out. I really want this place to work so we can keep a Thai spot in Fuquay!

Kristin B.

Yelp
Really enjoyed lunch here! The food was delicious and the service was great! We were shocked at the vibe when we walked in! Did not feel like we were in Fuquay!

Christina M.

Yelp
Of note, all of this was in a to go order: Was only able to snap a pic of the crab sticks which were fantastic. Got 2 orders of the Khao Soi with chicken. It was packed perfectly so as to eliminate any mess. The broth was delicious, chicken so flavorful and the amount of food was plenty for what you pay.

Yelp
Bright and happy environment, fresh food, flavorful dishes, and friendly staff. A welcome addition to a growing town that desperately needs to expand its restaurant portfolio!

Ralf L.

Yelp
We enjoyed all the dishes we had. The dumplings, crab omelette, salmon and coconut ice cream desert were all very tasty. Plenty of great food. The piece of salmon was a nice size and more than we had expected. Our waitress was very attentive and provided wonderful food recommendations. We will definitely be back to try some of the other great sounding dishes soon.

Carla J.

Yelp
Great menu options with different restrictions for other people in group. Quick, friendly service. Excellent taste, flavors with options to make them spicier. Highly recommend!!

Jeff H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and terrific menu. Not your typical American Thai restaurant menu in that the menu features authentic Thai dishes that you will find on a visit to Thailand. Enjoyed the service and look forward to another visit!

Yelp
We drove 50 minutes to be able to try the food here and there is absolutely o regrets. Everything was so delicious, from the drinks, to the food. And on top of the food being unique and flavorful, the service was the cherry on top. Such a welcoming environment and overall enjoyable atmosphere. My family and I will definitely be returning. I wish I had taken a picture of all the food but was too busy enjoying it. Specially that mango sticky rice and Thai donuts.

Drago L.

Yelp
First time visitors. We will definitely come back. Great food and the staff is very friendly. Ambient is very simplistic with nice vibe and cozy atmosphere. Wife had grill salmon and i had deep fried soft shell crab. For desert we order sweet sticky rice with mango. Everything was yummy.

Yelp
I saw the high reviews and this place is new near me so I figured to go try it out. I got the ribs, fried rice, and matcha tea w/ boba. It was all very good. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. I think the ribs had saffron on them, and who would of thought cherry tomatoes are sooo good in fried rice, and I mean really really good. The boba being made at their bar was also a nice touch. I also like the green tile they use for a modern touch. I would say for some improvement, this place is minimalistic, and I like minimalistic, but it's very minimalistic. It would be nice to see some more decoration or lots of plants. The bench seating by the register was also a bit hard, I would suggest putting some kind of padding, and maybe some pillows to make a bit more cozy.

Eric E.

Yelp
This place hit the spot! Great food, clean spot, and service was quick! We ordered apps, entrees, and deserts. Everything was 100%

Mr C.

Yelp
The restaurant looks nice and has a good vibe to it. The portions aren't huge, but honestly there what a portion should be. The flavors for the food are good and the service was good as well. I enjoyed the wings and my food was good. The food is a little hot. Overall no complaints and is worth checking out. A little hard to find, but nevertheless worth your time.

Yelp
Our first time here and the visit and meal did not disappoint. I can say for us, we found our Thai restaurant in Fuquay Varina. The service was spot on and the food flavors just popped. Thai food can be spicy, but they have mild dishes for those that do not care for a spicy dish. In addition, if you want and like heat, plenty of choices are available with heat additives available for you to add as you see fit. The atmosphere is bright, nice background music, noise abatement is in the ceilings allowing for normal conversation levels even if it gets a little noisy, we really enjoyed not having to yell at each other across the table. This place is wonderful and we will be back!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is open and bright. Our server Alicia was lovely and so welcoming and helpful. And the meals were delicious and full of flavor. Excellent all around!

K H.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and presentation, terrible food. Borderline inedible. Soup tasted like nothing and the curry was 95% cut up onions and tasteless. I love curry.

Staci M.

Yelp
So happy to have an excellent Thai option! We ordered takeout and everything was delicious! The dumplings were super flavorful and appeared to be homemade given their non-symmetry. We ordered the Chicken Curry "Thai hot" and they don't mess around! I poured the entire oil accompaniment on top and almost set my husband on fire! Soooooo good! The pork and rice had great flavor and will definitely NOT mix it with the rice next time, rather dip the pork into the sauce. I know this is more traditional Thai but like another reviewer, would LOVE to see their spin on Som Tum - Thai hot, of course! Thank you for opening a great restaurant in our community!!

Yelp
Khao Sen is a "fabulous find in Fuquay"! We went for an early dinner with my parents who are known to be picky eaters. Everyone loved their dish! We started with the crispy krab cakes, delicious especially the sauce. For dinner we had Khao Pad Kun Chung and B Mii Tom Yum. Both were wonderfully fresh and flavorful, with the perfect amount of spice level. We will definitely be back to try more dishes! And I may now be spoiled after having the Strawberry Rose Limeade fizzy drink! So refreshing!

Yelp
This new Thai restaurant is incredible! We ordered the BBQ pork noodle and Thai curry egg noodle dish. The service was so pleasant and welcoming! All the flavors were on point and cooked perfectly! We're so excited that Fuquay finally has a great Thai restaurant!! Thank you for a great experience!!

Yelp
This place is simply amazing. The food is not your regular Thai restaurant fare, moreover, it is food you would receive if visiting someone living in Thailand. Fresh and very tasty. I have sampled food in many countries and this is very clean and authentic. I will definitely be back again. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Food is wonderful, service is wonderful and the ambience is casually wonderful! We've been there a half dozen times and haven't been disappointed yet.

Yelp
We were a party of nine, young and old, at lunch today, as a birthday treat for a couple of us in the group. Our server was charming and efficient, and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had little pork and shrimp steamed dumplings and a beef stir-fry with scallions and a purple rice dish called "Rice Berry". Absolute perfection, every pretty bite! My friend next to me had fried rice with sweet sausage. My husband had a gorgeous dish of B-B-Q pork over rice with a delicious broth and lots of beautiful thin noodles. All of us were very pleased indeed. Several had Sweet Sticky Rice with Thai Mangoe for dessert and it was both beautiful and delicious. The presentation of all the dishes was imaginative and visually pleasing, as well as very delicious. Just learned a week or so ago that this new restaurant had opened quite near us. Absolutely will go back often. The one drawback in the otherwise charming, very spare and open ambiance of the large, airy and well-lit room is the noise. There are no acoustic baffles in the ceiling or walls and we had some difficulty hearing our server or each other. Some sort of sound baffling would be an enhancement to an otherwise excellent experience.
