Khem Villas, Ranthambhore National Park, Rajasthan - Explore & Book

"This place is a treat. Lush gardens wrap around a colonial-style white house, and the air is fragrant with frangipani, lavender and roses. Daybeds scattered here and there allow you to sit back and take in the views, the silence only punctuated by birds, of which there are many. It’s incredibly serene, bordering Ranthambhore Park - the closest you can get to actually staying in the park itself. An admirable hotel in many respects, owners Goverdhan and Usha are pillars of the rural community. Their whole ethos is ethical sustainable tourism: food is vegetarian and the lodge’s 30 acres of grassland, lakes and forest were hand-planted years ago, cultivating a flourishing natural habitat for myriad wildlife – they even have resident crocodiles. People come here for the national park’s tigers, but with sightings never guaranteed, a place as special as this will ensure you don’t leave Ranthambhore disappointed. Highs An ecological oasis teeming with bird and animal life - make time for a walk with the resident naturalist A warm welcome: big smiles, chilled face towels and sweet lime juice instantly revive you Gorgeous accommodation including chic thatched cottages and luxury tents, plus some cheaper rooms in the main building Little indulgences: a cooling plunge pool, a small spa offering relaxing massages and fun evening drinks around the campfire An ethical lodge: the owners have set up a local hospital and school, introduced animal husbandry and only employ local staff Lows The food is good, but a little repetitive Rates seem quite high but they are full board There's not a lot of light in the bedrooms at night A bit off the beaten track - although you can arrive by train and get collected from the station, the journey is a bit stressful Tiger safaris need to be booked at least 6-8 weeks in advance" - Liz Simpson

Khem Villas | Best places to stay near Sherpur

"At the foot of Ranthambore’s rugged hills and surrounded by over 10 acres of grassland and fields dotted with watering holes, Khem Villas is a charmingly bucolic retreat and so-called ‘jungle camp’. Tiger conservation runs in the blood of its co-owners, and their eco-friendly approach to discreetly high-end tourism – which helps benefit local communities – is laudable. Accommodation comprises a mix of two exclusive villas with private sun decks, rustic cottages with open-to-the-sky showers and luxury steel-framed tents with wooden platforms and a distinctly ethnic feel. It’s the sort of place where you might spot jackals, foxes and mongoose skirting the property’s leafy boundaries. Just 4km from Ranthambore’s main entrance, the property strikes an ideal balance between convenience and rural tranquillity. You’ll also probably learn more about Ranthambore’s tigers, the region’s other wildlife and conservation issues staying here than anywhere else in the region. " - Amar Grover

We stayed two nights as part of our visit to Ranthambore. The resort has done an amazing job in the gardens, it really is a slice of paradise. The "tents" are proper glamping. Luxurious, quiet AC, wonderful bed and living space. The "outdoor" yet completely private shower was a revelation. Drinks around the fire before dinner was delightful. Meals are vegetarian and though perhaps not michelin star, are tasty and interesting. Perhaps query which villa you have. Ours had a view out to the rather run down neighboring farm. Others had much better views. You are a ways from the main park sector entrances, so do have to factor in extra time before and after your safaris. However, this is a truly excellent place to stay in Ranthambore.

Khem villas was our Safari base. Our room was wonderful with air conditioning, great shower, comfortable bed, and a nice porch to look at nature. The reservation includes|Meals. It was my first for a into vegetarian hotel however, everything was excellent! I never went hungry. The staff was very accommodating. The food was perfect for the Safari because it was not too heavy, but we’re always full. The hotel has some lovely walking areas and seating areas . There is a very nice evening fire pit where you can discuss your activities of the day. The staff always met you with a smile and the manager was always there to see to your needs. They have a wonderful nature walk. Do not miss it. This hotel is a perfect blend of relaxation, tranquility, and activity.

We had such a great time at Khem Villas. We stayed in one of the villas for two nights and honestly didn’t want to leave.||The property is gorgeous—peaceful, green, and full of life. You can really feel how much care has gone into restoring the land. Just walking around was a treat, and we even saw jackals and lots of birds from the villa!||Our villa was spacious, super comfortable, and beautifully designed. It felt luxurious but still very connected to nature, which we loved.||The staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. The whole place has a calm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel instantly relaxed.||And the food was amazing—fresh, vegetarian, and full of flavor. We looked forward to every meal.||All in all, a perfect mix of comfort and nature. We’re so glad we stayed and would absolutely come back.

Had fantastic stay at Khem Villas. Stayed in luxury tent for 3nts. Tje luxury tent was very comfotable with all facilities you could want|It is a lovely location, with lots of peaceful outside space, surrounded by nature. Yet easy access to the National Park. The food was very nice and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come again and bring my family. Amazing guide Denish who took me on walking tours adjacent to Khem Villas where his keen eye spotted, owls, crocodiles and kingfishers. We then drove to Ranthambore Fort for a walk and ended up having a very special, close up encounter with a tiger.

I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a safari and want to stay nearby. The villa is surrounded by many birds, deer, and three crocodiles. 😀 Yes, but they maintain a safe distance from humans. You are covered for three meals per day, and they have a beverage menu that includes the basic spirits you would expect, as well as cold chilled local beer. We mostly have Indian wines that are reasonably priced. Again, this is a jungle, so your stay will be peaceful if that is what you are looking for. Amazing, stunning experience.

Khem Villas are located a bit out of town which makes it wonderfully calm. We stayed in the cottage farthest from the restaurant area; it had a nice porch overlooking the lovely pond, where we had another small private terrace from which we could watch the crocodiles and a lot of colourful birds. |The morning safari was nice but extremely rushed as everybody wanted to see a tiger. In the end, we were lucky (and very happy) to see two of them but there was hardly time to enjoy the amazing landscape or to take some photos of other wildlife. |The afternoon safari was much nicer, as we went through a different zone where we were almost on our own. And if you have enough time, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the fort in the park where you find places that could have been taken straight out of the Jungle Book

A Tranquil Escape into the Wild – Khem Villas, Ranthambore From the moment we arrived at Khem Villas, we were wrapped in an atmosphere of peace, simplicity, and understated luxury. Nestled amidst the raw beauty of Ranthambore, this eco-lodge is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience that nourishes your soul. Surrounded by lush greenery, natural water bodies, and the melodies of the jungle, Khem Villas offers a rare blend of comfort and wilderness. We stayed in one of the luxury cottages, which was both elegant and earthy. The interiors, thoughtfully designed with natural materials and local aesthetics, made us feel deeply connected to nature while still enjoying every modern comfort. What truly sets Khem Villas apart is its commitment to conservation and sustainability. The entire property runs harmoniously with its surroundings—solar power, organic farming, and a strict no-plastic policy reflect their deep respect for the environment. Every meal we had was a culinary delight—wholesome, delicious, and made from organic ingredients grown on the property itself. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They arranged our safari rides, shared insightful stories about the wildlife, and even introduced us to the history of the region. And while spotting a tiger is always a thrill, the serene walks around the property, the peaceful moments by the lake, and the early morning sounds of the forest were equally magical. Khem Villas doesn’t just offer accommodation—it offers an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature, and reflect in stillness. Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, a couple seeking solitude, or simply someone looking to unwind, this place feels like a hidden sanctuary.
