Yelp
Kickys, Kickys, Kickys. You never fail me. This is by far one of my top favorite restaurants in the area. As other reviews mention, the outside seems a bit sketch (it did used to be a Boston Market), but the inside will totally assuage your fears. It's modern and trendy but not in the way other restaurants are when they are trying too hard to be something they are not. The service at Kickys is usually great--the servers are as quick and efficient as possible. (FYI: Sushi service does get a bit slow on Mondays and Wednesdays, when sushi is 40% off.) The restaurant is BYOB, so be sure to bring your fav bottle to enjoy the fabulousness Kickys has to offer even more.
There is a different promotion for each night. At first I thought this would be just until they gained some popularity, but they've kept it since opening and it's definitely still going strong. (Monday and Wednesdays: 40% off sushi, noodles, rice; Tuesday and Thursday: 40% off all kitchen entrees; Friday and Saturday: you can find a "buy one get one entree" coupon for before a certain time in local shopper booklets; Sunday: 20% off bill.)
-Add soup, salad, and dessert to any entree for only $3.95=TOTALLY WORTH IT.
-If you get there before 4PM, you can order off the $4.95 lunch menu which comes with a side salad. Also a great value.
I've sampled a bit of each category:
-Organic salad: the appetizer portion is quite large for only $2.95. The dressing is tasty and the cucumbers are always fresh.
-Miso soup: miso soup is miso soup, but theirs is on the more flavorful end.
-Appetizers to get: Tempura platter or Thai spring roll
-Appetizer to skip: Calamari-it was fine, but the actually calamari were small and the batter and sauce were a bit bland.
-Noodles: The chicken pad thai is really good. I LOVE spicy food and find that it has the perfect amount of kick to it. It is also a generous portion. The udon is also good, and the noodles are quite moist.
-Panang curry: I had previously read the portion was small, but when I went I had a large portion with a ton of veggies. The sauce had a good flavor, but the consistency was a bit thin.
Favorite sushi rolls: JalaTuna, MisOat Tuna, Godzilla, SAS, Chef Special
