The Best Irish Bars for St. Patrick’s Day in the Twin Cities | Eater Twin Cities

"Right next to Target Field and Target Center in the Warehouse district, Kieran’s Irish Pub is ideally positioned for pre or post-game festivities, an after-work happy hour, or dinner before a show at First Avenue. Kieran’s Irish Pub serves up pints of Irish and local craft beers, whiskey cocktails, and a menu of sandwiches, salads, and pub favorites like fish and chips. The pub also frequently hosts live music and a monthly poetry slam — their poet’s corner is a cozy back room with dusty bookshelves, portraits of long-gone poets, a Medieval-style wall mural, and a full bar." - Eater Staff

Where to Eat and Drink Around Target Field | Eater Twin Cities

"Bring the whole crew to this mammoth palace of Irish pride. Get an expertly-poured pint of Guinness (or any of their myriad beers), and order up some pot roast sliders and some chicken shots (crispy-fried nuggets of chicken, tossed in a tangy/sweet whiskey sauce) and cheers a Twins win with a mighty “Sláinte” to any and all fans." - Eater Staff

Downtown Minneapolis’ Best Happy Hours | Eater Twin Cities

"Kieran’s deserves praise for one of the most generous happy hours around: seven days a week, running from opening at 11 am until 6 pm. Drink specials are simple: $2 off all drafts, house liquors, house wines, and signature cocktails. For food, take $2 off the entire appetizer menu, which includes chicken shots tossed in a choice of sauce (try the honey whiskey glaze) and a hummus board with a trio of dips in the hues of the Irish flag." - Eater Staff

Everything about our visit was excellent. The food was beyond tasty. The pot roast was savory and tender. The cod from the fish and chips was perfectly breaded and crispy while the cod itself was buttery and melted in your mouth. Great drinks selection. Everyone was friendly and inviting. The atmosphere is vintage Irish and very cozy.

We came here because it was close to the hotel and we were starving after a day of travel. So glad we came here. The food was absolutely delicious. The poutine was not too salty. The flavors of the Reuben were well balanced. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall we were super pleased.

Had the best time there after the St Patrick’s parade. The band was wonderful and the atmosphere was lively and youthful. People were dancing and drinking happily. Truly a memorable experience at a great bar.

We stopped in before a game and had a great experience as usual. They do a great job of combining a lively bar atmosphere and really good food, which is rare. We both just had a burger this time, but we’ve had a number of good experiences and can vouch for many of the menu items. If you’re headed to a game or concert, or just want a good spot for dinner or a pint, make your way to Kieran’s and you won’t be disappointed.

I got the Reuben sandwich it was excellent. Service was awesome and prompt. Bathrooms were clean. The atmosphere was generic but fun. We were looking for a fun place to go before we went to the wolves game, it was a short and easy walk from the sky view.

Upon entering the pub we were told to "sit anywhere we liked" Well it was 50 F in the front room. Cold. Frigid. So we walked to the back room that was warm and inviting. There were a half dozen employees sitting around the fire place laughing and enjoying the warmth. They IMMEDIATELY snapped at us. "This room is closed you can't be in here" Strange as the door was open and tables were waiting? So we asked if we could sit in the other adjacent room. "No" So much for "Sit anywhere you like" We asked if they could turn the heat up in the front room They laughed. My money apparently does not interest this buisness...oh well had a nice meal across the street at Gluikes.

Walked in and was immediately seated and asked what I would like to drink! My server then gave me menus and brought my drink right over! This was a massive change from the bar across the street that I had just left after I had sat at a table for 10 minutes and had been completely ignored so I left and came to Kiernan's... Super glad I did, as the food and service were outstanding! The patio is fantastic! The ambiance is great! If you are going to a game downtown, go early and stop by to get a drink and some food!
