Google
Was looking for a decent Japanese restaurant for lunch while visiting San Diego. Found out that most of these restaurants open at 5 p.m. and are more inclined toward the night party vibes. On the other hand, there are plenty of fast-food places that are more affordable but don’t look right for a family lunch. So this place looked like something in between and pretty spot-on. For the most part, it is. Sushi is great — well-deserved 5 stars. Bento boxes are not, maybe around 3. Overall, good experience.

Google
This restaurant is super clean. I had chirashi bowel for $21. There are 8 pieces of sashimi of different fish, one shrimp, a small piece of grilled eel and two egg rolls. The salmon is so good. My friend had the salmon sashimi which is great too. But their restroom floor was sticky.

Google
I got the Party Rock Roll, and I can confidently say it was one of the best sushi rolls I have ever had! Super fresh and delicious! The service was great, and the restaurant was clean and classy. I will definitely be coming here again soon!

Google
Came in here at random and I'm glad I did. We ordered a variety of nigiri and all of it was fresh and flavorful. The agedashi tofu is simple and also delicious. They make some things here a little sweeter than most places, like the sushi rice, and it works well.

Got there around 4pm on a Tuesday and there was no wait to be seated, in fact we were the only customers. Parking in this complex is typically a disaster, but empty on this occasion. Menu had a lot of variety, but I was there to try the sushi rolls. It's not a good sign when you ask the server if they've eaten there before and they say a couple times, but not really. I then asked for his favorite roll and instead he told me which were the popular rolls. Ordered the Salmon Lover and the All-Star rolls. As the server set down the All-Star, I could see a hair sticking out from under the yellowtail piece on the end. The server apologized and took it back. He brought over the Salmon Lover and even after dipping it in wasabi/soy sauce it had a STRONG fish taste. I'm assuming this fish was about to go bad or wasn't sushi grade salmon. The All-Star made its way back to the table minus the hair and it tasted fine. For a place that held its grand opening not too long ago, I was surprised and disappointed at how thin the pieces of fish were on the outside of the rolls, but the presentation was nice. The place had a few more customers by the time we wanted our check and it took a while to get the servers attention. That was surprising to me cause I could see employees just hanging out behind the sushi bar and kitchen area. A beer, lemonade and 2 rolls with wafer thin pieces of fish was $58... definitely not worth it.

I visited Kiiro Sushi Izakaya on Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar. I ordered "chef's choice" with a bunch of rolls and sashimi. It was soooo delicious and fresh. I was literally blown away by everything in my order. I also chatted with KT, the chef, and Ruthie - his helped - it was nice to learn about them and the story behind this place. Absolutely amazing sushi, I would absolutely come back.

Google
!!DON'T WAIT!!! We walked in at 630pm sunday night and was sat immediately. We ordered the Midnight Roll, Phillidelphia Roll, Sea Salt Edemame, and deep fried cookies and cream ice cream. All of which tasted absolutely amazing and came out within minutes of ordering. Highly recommend!!!!

Google
This place really offers the taste of the owner's intentions. I sat at the sushi bar and talked to the owner while he made my sushi, and he told me his story. "KT" the chef and owner moved to the united states at a young age and spent his life learning under sushi chefs, building the knowledge and experience to one day open his own place... and this is that place! You can tell how much he loves making people happy with his food. I felt so welcomed and when I came back for a second time I was remembered and greeted, as if I was an old friend. I genuinely hope that people will come and experience kiiro as KT continues to provide the same experience I was shown, to everyone else.

Yelp
KIIRO SUSHU IZAKAYA @ SPORTS ARENA Parking is available right in the front, and the best part is, it's free! We came on a Saturday night around 9 PM since this spot closes late, and my friends and I were excited to finally check it out. Walking into the sushi place, I immediately loved the environment. There was so much detail in the décor, with trees and plants placed everywhere, giving it such a relaxing vibe. We were seated right away, even with a party of seven, and the staff was super friendly. The menu had everything rolls, nigiri, sashimi pretty much anything you'd expect from a good sushi spot. We ordered a few of their popular rolls: the Salmon Lover, the Eel Avocado Roll, and a crunchy shrimp tempura roll. Each roll was priced between $15 and $24, which felt pretty normal. Every roll came out perfect, so fresh, so flavorful, and the fish quality was amazing. The service was great, too. We had to split the check three different ways, and our server handled it so kindly and efficiently. Overall, everything was just perfection. It's such a great environment, especially if you're coming late at night with friends. I definitely recommend stopping by this place!

Yelp
I am so sad I can't remember the name of the sushi rolls we ordered because they were so good but I'm sure everything else would be too! We decided to stop here on our way to the airport so we appreciated how fast the service was. Despite it was a quick stop, our server was attentive and friendly. Would definitely reccomend checking them out!

Yelp
Very good! I would give it a 4.5 if I could - the only reason I gave it a 4 is because I felt it was a tad pricey for what it is. The chirashi bowl was really good - super fresh fish. I would get this again. The shiitake veggie roll was just ok - I felt overpriced for a plain veggie sushi roll.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and the sushi was pretty good especially the garlic salmon nigiri with butter flamed. Our experience was distracted by the staff and loud distracting music around us: 2015 electronic middle school type dance jams like Calvin Harris, and miscommunication between different staff members and scheduling for working that day like right in front of us at the bar. Also there was a problem in the kitchen so the main sushi chef left the sushi bar for about 20 minutes. Maybe we're people that are easily distracted or prefer a more softer ambience, so much potential for this place with good food but the service needs to be improved, I'd like to come back again but I would like to see: 1. Improved ambience in terms of music (less of a club, dance vibe) 2. Staff communication in front of patrons and to each other, naming what the fish is on the plate 3. Maybe a supervisor or manager on scene to help trouble shoot kitchen problems while the main sushi chef and the sous chef can work uninterrupted.

Yelp
The sushi rolls were delicious, the ratio of rice and filling was good. A lot of sushi restaurants do too much rice, but here was good. We got the following: Hot Night Salmon Scallop Baked Salmon My only feedback would be that I would like more rolls with fresh fish in the menu. Most of them had imitation crab and shrimp tempura instead of raw fish inside and out.

Yelp
To begin, this sushi restaurant is open all day so convenient for early or late lunch or dinner! It's clean and comfortable and the sushi chef, KT is professional and talented! I had fresh oysters that were memorable. The agadashi tofu was generous for an appetizer plate! You cannot get a bad dish here! I will be going back very soon! Plenty of free lot parking

Yelp
Located in Point Loma. Dedicated parking lot that shares with another business or two. Our party of 2 made a reservation at 6pm during the weekday but there were many open tables available when we arrived. Environment/Service: All indoor seats only. Lots of 2-4 person tables. Our food came out in a timely manner and our server was very attentive. Food: We shared 4 dishes and it was plenty for us 2. I very much enjoyed all the dishes we ordered and would order them again! -Aburi Garlic Butter Salmon Belly Nigiri ($18/4pcs): truly melts in your mouth-- must get this one -Crispy Rice with Spicy Salmon ($13): comes with 4 pcs -Dragon Roll ($17): 9 pcs; good amount of eel and avocado on top -Party Rock ($18): 6 pcs; spicy mayo shrimp on top Overall: Must get the salmon belly nigiri! We enjoyed our time here and I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
I was looking up a place to eat before a concert at the Pechanga Arena and came across this place and I'm so glad I picked it!! Honestly such a steal for what you're getting. The quality is amazing and the service is very friendly and prompt. You can tell they pay attention to details here. I cleared all my plates. The kiiro yellowtail belly nigiri and aburi and garlic butter salmon belly nigiri are must orders, they MELT in your mouth perfectly and the flavors are complex without being overpowering. The crispy spicy tuna came with a generous amount of tuna on it, I even had to eat in three bites it was so big haha. Definitely will be dreaming of this meal for a long time.

Yelp
Food is delicious here and service is great. The only downfall was there is no soda water from the fountain and all drinks are in cans. A soda machine would be a great investment and free refills.

Yelp
This might be my new favorite sushi place. It's so warm and inviting inside with a vibe that's modern meets traditional but still casual at the same time. I also appreciate that they were open on the later side on Friday night. Hours all around like nice and I will definitely keep this place in mind for the future, especially with such a pleasant first visit. Super nice staff even when we had to change our order last minute. Very efficient and they brought us our food quickly! Tuna was fresh didn't feel like it was tough or weirdly seasoned. My favorite was the yellowtail roll with scallions. I was really impressed with the sushi quality. I didn't get any fishy taste or the feeling like it had been frozen. I loved every bite. The menu is extensive and I definitely want to come back to try more. There's a decent amount of tables inside so it could be a good place to bring friends too, especially with how welcoming it felt coming here! I'm also eyeing the lunch specials for next time too. Nice looking options.

Yelp
This is a relatively new spot. The fish was incredibly fresh. I loved the roll and the nigiri sampler we got. You will not go wrong with anything you order here. Price was okay. The ambiance was more appropriate for families and i would not consider this place a good date night spot. I would definitely revisit to try some other rolls.

Yelp
The hubby, sister, and I hit Kiiro on a Saturday after taking a Harbor Cruise. The restaurant itself was very clean, service was great, and the food delicious. We ordered 3 bowls of miso soup to start and then shared a California roll, a tuna roll, a heart attack roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. The California roll was creamy and perfectly put together. The tuna roll melted in my mouth. The heart attack roll was my husband's favorite and was very heavy on the different sauces so I took a bite and let he and my sister finish that one. We also ordered the shrimp tempura roll which was incredible. It was a roll with a piece of shrimp tempura inside and then topped with vegetable tempura. It's unlike anything I've seen before and was cool to get a free appetizer on top of the roll. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Upon arriving, the server was upfront with approximate wait time for service as he sat us at our table. I appreciated his transparency. Place is located in Sports Arena area and had plenty of seating with a sushi bar towards the back of the restaurant. We ordered a few sushi rolls and mixed tempura as an appetizer. Tempura had great variety of shrimp and veggies. They were perfectly crispy without the oily taste. The rolls were delicious. Great flavor. Fish was fresh. I do have to comment on the soy sauce, maybe it's a certain brand but did taste a bit watered down. Other than that, the food was amazing.

Yelp
Good place. Good service. Service was attentive and friendly without feeling rushed. Our server made great recommendations and kept everything flowing smoothly. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and portions are generous. I also love that they have a good sake selection to pair with the meal. Atmosphere was great.

Yelp
Great place for sushi. I dined in and got the cucumber salad, Kiiro special, and a glass of Saporro beer. The salad was refreshing and light. The Kiiro special was a platter of 5 pieces of nigiri, 6 pieces of sashimi, and a negi yellowtail roll. The presentation was beautiful and the fish was fresh. The rice in the nigiri and roll was perfect - soft and seasoned to my liking. I appreciated the variety in the platter. The place is clean, bright and the music was kept low. It's located in a busy strip mall on the corner of Rosecrans and Midway. The lot is large and I found parking easily on a Sunday evening. Service was friendly and attentive. My food arrived timely, but at the end of the meal, it took a little longer to get the bill. They need more waitstaff to handle online orders and customers dining in person.

Yelp
came for their lunch special at $21 I got miso soup, gyoza(5) & 911 sushi roll (spicy tuna, avocado) The 911 roll was a great portion size and tasted good. The gyoza was OK... if I were to come again I'd probably try something else though. Service was friendly. Private lot parking.

Yelp
My review on this restaurant is way overdue . I went here with my Husband on the very first day of their opening. My husband was the First to review this place. I was getting my Coffee next door when we saw this restaurant, so we decided to stay and wait for at least 5 minutes. The moment we came in a woman and a man making Sushi greeted us and told us we were their first customer. The Menu was handed to us and I quickly ordered the following: *BBQ SHORT RIBS *GRILLED PORK BELLY *SPICY SALMON While waiting for our orders the couple making the sushi came and took our order, they introduced themselves as the owner of the restaurant, and they were very nice. So my SPICY SALMON came and it was freshly made and delicious. I actually saw it being made when I was strolling around taking pics. And since we were the very first customer we got a complimentary Blue Fin tuna to try and it was so Fresh and tasty. My SHORT RIB came and it was very Tender, but it needed more time marinating or maybe more seasoning, but it was still good. My husband's food was the GRILLED PORK, but the PORK didn't look Grilled and it was so Red, it looked spicy. I tasted it, and it was spicy. I believe they delivered the Spicy Pork that was also listed on their menu. My husband doesn't eat spicy food, so he didn't eat it and he shared with my Short Ribs, but the Owner noticed that my husband didn't eat his food and saw only me eating, so my husband finally told her that the order was suppose to be not spicy and it was fixed right away, they made him a new batch, not spicy that time, and it was actually so good and well seasoned. But for me I love spicy food, so the spicy pork is a better choice for me to get next time. I enjoyed the food and the good service, and I love the Vibe, it's clean inside and bright. The Parking at the front of their restaurant is shared with other stores, so it's kinda limited, but there's also another parking space at the back which is also shared with other stores, but it's a much bigger space to find parking.

Yelp
The space was large and not super busy, or to loud. Thel parking lot is small, but it was free and we found a spot easily. Came for a quick bite to eat for lunch. The server seemed new and a little discombobulated but she was nice. I ordered a roll with rock shrimp and a shoshito roll. Both rolls were generous in size, and the seafood super fresh. The rock shrinp was perfectly cripsed, not soggy or to oily, and just the right amount of sauce coating it, the rolls filling underneath was a nice contrast of ingredients. Rice in rolls were perfect texture, and rolls themselves were carefully put together. The shoshito roll for sure had a lot of shoshito peppers lol maybe a bit to much for me, but I still enjoyed it overall. I wasnt expecting to love the food here as much as I did. It's an unassuming spot, but it gave me more joy than a very hyped busy japanese spot I went to days prior.

Yelp
QUALITY SUSHI AND CREATIVE FLAVORS (4 stars) - FOOD: good - PRICE: decent - SERVICE: so friendly and welcoming - AMBIANCE: cute little sushi joint It's nice to have a good sushi spot outside of Convoy (and located in midway/Point Loma). I specifically came for some of their specials. Their menu had a VARIETY: appetizers, specials, nigiri, sashimi, rolls, special rolls, noodles, rice plates. There is a meal for everyone - even pescatarians, vegetarians, etc. KIRO YELLOWTAIL BELLY NIGIRI ($12) - 2 pieces. Minced yellow tail with a hint of truffle. website priced this at $10 but menu had it scratched off and upped to $12. Truffle flavor can be amazing and it can be overpowering. They did the hint of truffle some justice! It complimented the sushi nicely but didn't overtake the creaminess of the yellowtail. I did feel $12 was a a lot for 2 small pieces of minced yellow tail with some truffle oil but had to try it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ABURI GARLIC BUTTER SALMON BELLY NIGITI ($18) - hand torched salmon belly nigiri. This was their other popular pick. Buttery! Notes of garlic! Fish so tender it melts in the mouth! Nice light Smokiness! As much as I did like this one... it was missing an element of flavor. it was missing something citrusy like a tiny squirt of lemon to give it that zing from a very mellow bite. HIGHLY RECOMMEND MISO SOUP ($3) - Average! Can't have sushi without a cup of miso soup SALMON NIGIRI ($7) - typical but in a good way. I liked how the sushi rice wasn't hard nor had a strong taste of rice wine vinegar. It was just right. The salmon was average - fresh and good. But if you are looking for something safe - this is a good choice. RECOMMEND MOCHI ($6) - comes with two pieces. I was able to mix and match and went for 1 strawberry and 1 chocolate - the perfect mix! It was cut into bitesize pieces and served with whip cream with sprinkles! HIGHLY RECOMMEND I cannot wait to come back and try their regular rolls and rice plates! Until the next review...

Yelp
I visited this part of town alot when I was a kid.  My brother would take me to Tower Records which was a bit further down the road.  I loved seeing the lovely artwork on the album covers and hearing the latest records.  It was amazing how there were endless rows of records from tons of artists I never heard of.  There was a lovely sound from records I miss.  Now I mostly listen in the car to music from my Iphone over the sound of the road.  It's not as good as back in the old days.  The food in the Sports Arena area has improved though.  I visited Kiiro Sushi Izakaya during their soft opening. The bento box was a good amount of food for $22.  Miso soup had a nice miso flavor.  Not enough tofu in the bowl.  Gyoza had a crunchy shell and filled with pork and onions.  I couldn't taste the pork as the onion flavored overpowered all the other flavors.  I prefer gyoza that uses cabbage as the milder flavor lets you taste the meat.  Rice was mostly soft except for a part near the center that was stuck together.  I liked the mild flavor.  Beef short ribs were tender and juicy with a tasty flavor from the marinade and light char.  Tempura consisted of a piece of shrimp and 4 different vegetables.  I loved the shrimp which had a thin crunchy batter which gave the shrimp a light fried flavor.  The onion ring, carrot, and zucchini were also very good. Staff was very nice and efficient. I remember redwood trees, bumper cars and wolverines The ocean's Trident submarines Lemons, limes and tangerines I remember this I remember traffic jams Motor boys and girls with tans I Remember California - REM

Yelp
Kiiro Sushi Izakaya opened recently in the Midway area of San Diego. Plenty of free parking the plaza lot. Izakaya is Japanese which means a small casual setting for food, drinks and socializing. Only indoor seating and once inside, I was greeted cordially and was accommodated to my seating of choice, especially with my service pup Fendi. Service from the staff was helpful and attentive particularly Ruthie. The restaurant occupies a corner space and has great lighting from the multiple windows. Very clean and neat as expected from a newly opened restaurant with simple minimal decor. I had already previewed the menu and ordered from the lunch menu. The miso cod caught my interest, but it was not available and that was a disappointment. The salmon teriyaki lunch set was my second choice; which included miso soup, steamed rice, salad," and a mixed vegetable and shrimp tempura. Everything was fresh and delicious. The sushi chef prepared my simple avocado and unagi roll nicely with micro edible flowers...a nice touch :) Kiiro Sushi Izakaya restaurant is a welcomed addition to this area and are worth a visit. Yelp
Kiiro Sushi Izakaya is a new Japanese eatery that has debuted in the Midway District next to L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in the Grosvenor Square. Between these two businesses and Starbucks, they shared about a dozen parking spaces in front of the structure. The inside of the suite was clean and modern with a seating capacity for well over 50 customers. Four spots were available at the sushi bar that was in the back left corner of the dining area. I was able to visit for dinner on day one of the soft opening that will last for another month into early March. The double-sided food menu displayed rolls (Basic, Baked, Deep Fried, Specialty, No Rice) on one page and then appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, nigiri, sashimi, and signature specials on the other page. I was informed by the staff and an earlier diner that the bluefin tuna was very fresh. That led me to start my meal with the Bluefin Tuna Medley which was two sashimi pieces each of Akami, Chu-toro, and O-toro. The last cut was served with nori sheets to wrap the fatty tuna after dipping it in sesame oil containing black pepper provided on the side. The quality of the tuna was indeed exquisite. I then proceeded to order the Aburi Garlic Butter Salmon Belly Nigiri which was four pieces that were hand torched to provide a smoked flavor. The fish was full of fattiness from the belly cut and garlic butter. I also wanted to try the Truffle Amberjack which was in the list of Signature items, however the fish wasn't available on this opening night. The last item I selected was the Jumbo Scallop (Hotate) Nigiri which came as two pieces. A light sprinkle of black pepper was doused on top of the scallop to add pepperiness. The owners are Korean which didn't deter from the fact that the husband (head chef) was skilled at his craft. As long as they continue to procure fresh seafood for their menu, then I think Kiiro Sushi Izakaya will be a fine addition to the dining options on this busy stretch of Sports Arena Blvd.

Yelp
Getting our Coffee from Starbucks and I spotted this restaurant that was new to me, i remembered this spot was used to be a Pizza place I believe there used to be a Round Table here before, so i went to check it out if they were open and the person who greeted us says that its actually their first day they open to the public. We ordered Lunch Bento boxes the BBQ Short Ribs and Pork Belly , and Spicy Salmon Roll , Spicy Pork Everything is Fresh and delicious. And the Service is very welcoming owner are currently the one serving and the Chef is the owner too . Lots of tables to sit on. Meats were all tender and tasty . Good portions too . If the front parking lot is full , they also have extra parking in the back of their restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant just opened last week, but the service is already on point. Josie was our waitress and welcomed us in right away. She is an amazing waitress, and provided the perfect amount of service. She actively refilled our water, and checked on us throughout the meal. The ambiance was nicely lit, and fit a lot more tables than I thought it would from the outside. They offer lunch specials on Mondays through Fridays from 11 AM-3 PM. This comes with a choice of either 5 pieces of sushi, gyoza, mix tempura, or green salad, as well as an item from the lunch special menu (such as rolls or sashimi). They also have lunch bento boxes which come with a protein, rice, salad, tempura, gyoza, and miso soup. I decided to get the Kiiro Special ($45) which contains 5 pieces of nigiri, 6 pieces of sashimi, and either the negi toro or negi yellowtail roll. This truly blew me away. First of all, the plating was on a long platter with thickly cut sashimi, well seasoned nigiri, and artistically adorned with small flowers, thinly sliced radish, and cucumbers. Secondly, everything was fresh and high quality. One of my favorite bites was the seared snapper. This special also came with miso soup. I also ordered o-toro nigiri ($16) which came with two pieces. This was so buttery smooth and melted in my mouth. I'm excited to frequent this restaurant!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant with my friend last Thursday, and we were both really impressed! The servers were super friendly and attentive, and the whole place was spotless, very clean and comfortable atmosphere. We ordered the Aburi garlic butter salmon belly, Forbidden pleasure roll, Chef's choice 12pc sushi, Midnight roll, and Uni sushi, and everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. You can really taste the quality of the fish in every bite. Specially Aburi garlic butter and Uni!!! I'll definitely be coming back again, absolutely loved the food, service, and overall vibe of this place!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place but I don't think I will go back. I specifically asked for no mayo sauce on my rolls and they both came out with mayo. I ended up eating one of them because the server said there was no mayo but it was very obvious there was and I didn't feel like arguing. I only ate half that roll but my friend took it to go so I'm thankful it didn't go to waste. Also, when we paid, I paid for the meals but one friend ordered something to go. They brought us two separate checks and she gave hers with her card but somehow they charged her for my bill! Then they didn't AGAIN, finally supposedly the 3rd time they charged my card and refunded hers twice but we'll have to check our card statements.... Ambience was chill. When we arrived we were the only ones but as the night progressed more people came in. I think our experience would have been better with a different server as I don't think she listened to us when taking our order and then also kept messing up our payment. The sushi I did eat wasn't bad but unfortunately I hate mayo and so having to eat a roll with mayo threw off my experience as well.

Yelp
Food: Absolutely Amazing Atmosphere: Mediocre Service: Incredibly poor My husband and I went out for an impromptu sushi dinner on a Friday night and were excited to check out a new restaurant that had opened in our neighborhood. There is a large sign hanging on the restaurant that says "Soft Opening", but in actuality, it has already been opened for a couple months. Anyway, when we drove up, the small lot in front of the restaurant was a bit chaotic, however there is a large lot just behind it with plenty of space. Upon entering the restaurant, I was not impressed. It is a large open room, with not a lot of ambiance. There are three large TV screens along the wall. Two played sports and the other played news. Additionally, there was loud club style music playing. With the club music, and the restaurant being crowded, it took me a little time to adjust to the noise level so I could have a conversation with my husband. We were seated quickly and our first portion of our order was taken which consisted of a bottle of sake and oyster shooters. Unfortunately after that, the service drifted off. I wasn't terribly impressed with the sake menu, as there was only one type of nigori, which was a basic one, but at least they had that one. The oyster shooters were absolutely delicious. They had sake and quail eggs. I would definitely recommend them. It took a while for the server to take our dinner order. Then it took longer to come out. We finished our bottle of sake, and wanting more since our dinner hadn't yet come, had to call a food runner to get our server. We ordered the Bluefin tuna medley which was my favorite thing I ate that night. It was so fresh and tender. They told us to wrap the tuna in the seaweed and dip it in the sauce. Unfortunately, there were six pieces of sushi and only four pieces of seaweed which was odd. The Alaska roll was amazing. Sometimes I don't like rolls because they hide the fish, but this highlighted the fish and was flavorful without feeling heavy at all. We had ordered the Spanish Mackerel Nigiri, but it never came out. Twice, a server came out to check to see what we had ordered and what we had received. My husband was facing the back of the restaurant and said that he saw lots of confusion over the tickets. We had arrived at 6:30 and it was after 8:00 with no indication of the Mackerel coming. I called over a server and asked if it was coming up, otherwise asked for the check. She took some time to find out and told me it would still be a little while. We asked for the check instead, as we had just been sitting around too long. At that moment, a different server brought the Mackerel, and then they asked if we wanted it. we decided to take it, as it was right there. It also was tender and delicious. However, I think it really should have been taken off our bill since we were ready to leave at the point. All in all, the food is absolutely amazing. Maybe we will consider giving this another try in a few months when service is better. However, it is still not my favorite atmosphere to sit and have dinner.

Yelp
Happy to have this sushi place near our home. Kamikaze roll 9/10, George on Mission Roll 10/10, Salmon & Tuna nigiri plate 9/10, Iced green tea 10/10, and Garlic Sauced Edamame 11/10! Restaurant had a nice ambience and service was efficient! Price is $$ and not crowded at all on a Friday night.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended/praised on a food group so I decided to try. It went very downhill early on. 1) Service was very very slow. I had to chase down someone for the menu (very basic), I also to also chase down someone to give us water (was very annoyed, customers that came after us already got their water and menu), lasty I had to also chase down the bill. I have not been to a restaurant this slow in a very very long time. It's as if we didn't exist in their restaurant. It wasn't even that busy too when we were there. Lastly they forced gratuity of 18% for 4 adults with a toddler and newborn. Seriously? Had to complain because that's not right but the fact that I had to bring it up before serving me the check left a very bad taste in my mouth. 2) We ordered a not cheap sashimi course. 24 pieces for $100, one assumed this would be plenty for 2 people. When it finally came, I was so shocked at the portion. They cut their sashimi so thin. They were honestly thinner than pieces you get for a sushi/nigiri. I was so mad but I out of respect, didn't want to make a scene. For context, I have eaten sashimi courses at many places around the wrodl including in Japan and this place served the thinnest sashmi slices I ever had. This is very inexcusable, if I wanted to eat carpaccio slices I would have wanted that (not a thick sashimi dish) we were left hungry and there's no way I would pay another cent here just to fill myself up here. Also for 24 pieces, they only gave 6 varieties, that is way too small. It was my mistake for not researching for photos of their dishes more closely. I would have never came or let alone order their sashimi dishes if I knew about the thinness of their sashimi. I also looked at the owner's own photos of sashimi dishes and they were thicker sashimi cuts. I don't know if the person that cut our sashimi was new or what but that the portion for $100 24 pieces of sashimi was absolute joke. To put hurt even further, there was a small fly that popped out of the radish slices of my sashimi plate, I don't know if it was camping underneath the radish slices the whole time until it was interrupted by my chopstick movement or it just flew into the plate but that was unappetizing too. Because of how expensive the dish I just prayed it didn't touch any of the seafood and just touched the garnishes (hope I don't get sick from it, time will tell). To the people that recommended this place in the food group, they severely lost my trust in their opinions. Will definitely not be returning. I brought friends visiting from out of the town here who love sushi/sashimi and this was absolutely embarrassing.

Yelp
Found one of my new to go sushi spots!! They have a big menu with other options other than sushi!!! My favorite was the garlic butter salmon belly nigiri!!! Soooo good! Sounds like this place just opened a month ago. Place is huge and can accommodate more people and they told us they are open until 1am!! The staff was nice and the food, we ordered nigiri, sushi rolls, and signature dishes. My stomach was happy and full. I'll be back!!

Yelp
The sushi and sashimi were really fresh and full of flavor. The way the chef plated everything looked so good, I couldn't help but take a photo. Will come back to try other menus in the near future.

Yelp
This was a relatively decent sushi place in its own lot next to L&L. Easy free parking. Sushi was pretty good and service was fast. They are clean and there are an abundance of tables. Tried a couple dishes including crispy rice tuna, crispy onion albacore, but my favorite was the kamikazi roll with the shishito pepper inside it was quite unique and the crispy rice tuna. Will be back to try more!

Yelp
Kirk sushi is one of my favorite spots now. Newly opened, they already have everything running smoothly. The food is top-tier. The prices are great and, number one perk, they're open until 1 AM! I've come so many times already, I think I can single-handedly keep this place afloat LOL. The staff are so kind and able to answer any questions that you may have being located in a strip mall they have plenty of parking so you won't have to worry. 100000/10 recommend

Yelp
My wife and I are very picky about the sushi we eat. We need it to be tender, finely sliced, very fresh, and flavorful. Kiiro Sushi Izakaya gave us food so amazing that we had to go back two days later to have it again. This is some of the best sushi I've ever had! Some must-tries: * Aburi Garlic Butter Salmon Belly Nigiri - that is perfectly seared and melts in your mouth - we had at least four orders of this in our two visits. * Kiiro Yellowtail Belly Nigiri - I've never heard of truffle on sushi, but it works! The chef shows incredible restraint with the truffles which can be overpowering if overused. * Roppongi Roll - the bluefin tuna on the outside of this roll just falls apart in your mouth, and the whole roll is seasoned so perfectly that I urge you not to add soy sauce and wasabi. The sake offerings extend beyond the menu, and you would do well to ask what's available. Besides the food, the owners, Chef KT and Manager Josie, are incredibly friendly and hardworking. Their staff is also very nice. This is a new restaurant, and it is easy to get a table right now. I predict it will not stay that way for long, I think this restaurant will get very busy in the near future!

Yelp
I originally stopped in just to use the restroom (which was clean), but the energy and vibe of the place were so inviting, I couldn't resist trying the food--and wow, I'm so glad I did! I ordered a salmon hand roll to go, and it was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and clearly handcrafted with care. Even though I wasn't dining in, the entire staff made me feel incredibly welcomed. From the moment I walked in, every employee I encountered was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere had such a cool, welcoming energy. I even had the pleasure of meeting Josie, the manager, who personally invited me to come back and enjoy a dine-in experience. I definitely will! This place left a great impression on me--not just for the quality of the food, but for the people and the vibe. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
I had such a great experience at this sushi spot! Service was excellent!!! Everything was fresh and flavorful, but the Kamikadze Roll and the Y.S.C Roll were hands down my favorites - perfectly balanced and so delicious. Definitely a place I'd come back to for quality sushi and great flavors

Yelp
Walked in at 5:50, there was only a few occupied tables. I was party of one, sat immediately. Ordered a beer, edamame, and miso noodles. Beer came quickly but it was downhill from there. After 30 minutes I asked the waitress if my order was ever put in, she said yes but there was a "problem with the kitchen" and thanked me for being patient. A few more tables filled in, family parties of 3-4 guests, their orders were taken and food was received within ten minutes. At 6:45 I walked to the cashier and asked to pay for the beer I'd received. The waitress and kitchen staff had some back-and-forth before promising me that my order was coming soon. I explained to them other tables that had arrived after me and at this point, were finishing their meals. I told them I was happy to pay for the unfinished beer but that I was leaving to eat somewhere else. They comped the drink and apologized. Seemed like a good neighborhood spot, which is why I wanted to try it. The restaurant was nearly empty when I arrived and half empty when I left. Edamame and miso noodles are not complex dishes and should've been on the expo pretty quickly. Especially for a party of one. Larger tickets like families or DoorDash orders get prioritized here.

Yelp
We came here for one of my daughter's birthday and we had a party of 6. Highly recommend for fast service and affordable prices. Considering that we had a party of that size, our tab was less than $350 and we were FULL! We ordered so many food and rolls. If you're looking to feed a lot of people and not break the pocket but yet get tasty sushi, I would 10/10 recommend coming here.

Yelp
Very good nigiri and rolls. They have some dry aged fish options that were tasty as well.

Yelp
Rolls were delicious. Came on a Wednesday night and it was busy but food still came out quickly. Salmon belly and tuna belly were extremely decadent and delicious. This place is great!

Yelp
Top notch sushi in a strip center, Midway District. It's obvious from the first look at the food and certainly the first taste that this group knows what they're doing. Superior product, superior experience, can't go wrong.
