We finally got to stop here for dinner. Although famous for their delicious Chicken and Waffles, try the fried Pork Chops with Mashed Potatoes and gravy. Don't forget those tasty collards. My wife had the Grilled Chicken Salad. Excellent service!

The service was at a slower pace than most restaurants. It took nearly 20 minutes to get drinks. Once we got rolling, everything was terrific. The waitress garnered a round of applause with her recital of 6 orders with modifications without the use of pen and paper. The sweet tea bordered on simple syrup - just the way my grandmother used to make it! The Belgian waffle with pecans was perfect - fluffy and crispy, not too sweet. The chicken portion was just right - not too little, not too big. The restaurant was cozy without feeling too crowded.

I was the only customer in there at the time . I came on a Wednesday at about 5pm. Got a blueberry sangria with Catfish platter. Fish was fried well, Mac and cheese was good. Cabbage was great! Cornbread was juicy and soft. I plan to return.

We waited for a bit..they ended up burning the steak so it took longer..waffles tasted like an ice cream cone lol but I still would try it again..the service was great!

The best thing about this dining experience (brunch on Sunday) was the service, which was okay at best. The restaurant itself was humid and uncomfortably stuffy. It might've been more refreshing outside and considering the 90°+ weather.. that's telling. As far as the food.. while crispy, the chicken could've had a bit more flavor. I will say the grits were 💯 Waffle was okay. In all, a bit pricey for the quality received, esp given the comfort level of the facility itself.

Google
Britney took great care of us and was kind and made great suggestions from the menu. The chicken was crispy and the sweet potato waffle was so yum! It was like sweet potato pie if you could get it crispy. This is my third time eating here and it hasn't disappointed yet. We will be back!

I attended this establishment today for brunch with some family members and from the beginning, you could see the place was not busy. Upon seating we had plastic silverware and the seating was very basic. The bathroom is a basic two stall unit that was not very clean. The bathroom also did not have any paper towels. The hostess service was not very friendly, though she was patient. There are signs stating a gratuity charge of at least 3%. I can’t remember the exact percentage but when I received my receipt, there was no breakdown of anything I was charged for. It simply stated my total charges plus a large party gratuity charge. The meals are not quite fairly priced for what you get. I ordered the salmon patty meal which came with four fried salmon patty nuggets and a bowl of buttered grits with a biscuit on the side. The quality of the grits were perfect, however, the salmon patties are not traditionally made and is pretty much an overly salted ball of fried salmon patty dough. I also ordered a bowl of okra and tea with lemonade. The tea is overly sweet to taste and overpowering for the meals served. All in all the establishment experience on a scale of 1-10 was about a 5. My possibility of recommendation for this place is 2 out of 5. Considering the charges, guest services, bathroom cleanliness and speed of service, I will not be returning soon.

French toast, scrambled eggs and sweet potato fries with sweet brown sugar sauce! $20! Very good food!

Yelp
Visited twice during the past couple of months. The wait staff were pleasant and attentive. Both times ordered chicken wings and waffles. My spouse ordered the smothered pork chops on one of the occasions. The chicken was seasoned well, hot and crispy just as we liked. The waffle was also delicious. My spouse enjoyed the pork chops(2) with southern style sides. The portions were very generous. Although I didn't taste it, I'm sure it was good as he ate the entire meal in one sitting!

Yelp
One of my favorite places. The service is good. The sweet tea is amazing. I tried their koolaid which is amazing. I really wish they would do a refill. The food is always fresh and hot.

Candace R.

Yelp
Chicken & waffles were amazing! The waffles were the best part! Chicken was a little overdone but still good...Staff was friendly and helpful!

Yelp
Love Kiki's. Been twice in two weeks and this will definitely become a family fav. On a good day they are 5 stars but the second time we came the pancakes were overcooked but nothing a little syrup couldn't fix. Both times I went I got the loaded French fries with cheese, bacon, sour cream and a side of ranch- my kids kept taking them. But their waffles and pancakes are good and my husband loves their fried chicken. Service is good, the inside is spacious with plenty of seating.

Davlon S.

Yelp
I've had a hankering for some fish and grits, and a coworker told me they had some recently from Kikis. I had a short wait to get a table, and the service was ok at best, but the meal was delicious. I would eat here again.

Kayla P.

Yelp
I'm in love with the Kool-Aid. It's delicious but super sweet, so beware! Atmosphere was laid back and the seating was spaced out. Music was great! We did have to wait for some time to get a server to meet/seat us, but that was the only big pain point. It wasn't a busy day so not having anyone come to the hostess area for minutes felt long. The food was enjoyable. Chicken cooked nicely, good/okay sides. I thought there was too much vinegar in the greens and the cornbread didn't do it for me. One last thing - I didn't love the nitpicking of all the add ons you're changed for. One is literally just for coming to eat! Another is for dressing. IMO - It's silly.

Maritza R.

Yelp
Kiki's! I need y'all to do better. The 3 stars is for the server Trinity who was attentive, on point and knowledgeable. Also the Chicken wings were fried fresh! The sides though.....we both ordered the soul food plate. I had the Mac and cheese, green beans and a side of potato salad. The Mac and cheese was bland, the greens beans too salty, and the potato salad tasted like it came from Kroger's with some additional touches. My wife had her sides as cabbage and Mac and cheese. She did originally order the sweet potato soufflé, however was advised that customers were complaining about it. Her Mac and cheese was the same bland, and her cabbage was sweet. There isn't much ambiance to this location. It's just tables and chairs.

Yelp
I went to Kiki's and northeast Columbia back in the day and loved it u til one day I found a piece of metal in my chicken. It was clearly a manufacturer issue as the metal looked like metal from a factory assembly line. They handled the whole affair so poorly and treated me as if I were lying. After many years I tried the on beat Harbison. The one on bower parkway had far superior service to my previous experience. The server was great. The food was great, but the ambiance is giving unkempt and empty.

Yelp
French toast, scrambled eggs and sweet potato fries with sweet brown sugar sauce! $20! Very good food!

Yelp
Service was outstanding! Ambiance was okay Food was pretty good I was so excited when our food was served. It all looked amazing. First and foremost, their fried chicken here is delicious and has good flavor! I really like the batter they use. In fact, we all loved the fried chicken and when you mixed it with their gravy, it was even better. The rice and gravy was bland. The sweet potato soufflé had a very unique flavor to it & I wasn't a fan, but my husband liked it. The collard greens were decent and my son and brother said the waffles were good! When you walk into the restaurant, it has a very basic atmosphere and the layout is very divided and appears like they could utilize the space better, but it works. The colors & the high ceilings give it a different kind of look than any other restaurant you go to. The service we received from our server was excellent! She paid great attention to our needs and was warm and welcoming. She checked our table regularly without hovering and was consistent. My brother gave her a large tip at the end of our meal and she even came back to thank us for it. All in all, our experience here was a good one but I just had higher expectations of the food.

Yelp
I just recently ordered the TY Ty fried fish soul food plate with a side order of shrimp and I was throughly disappointed ! Both the fish and shrimp were cooked in old grease and the fish had a blackened layer of crust which smelled of being burnt. Both the fish and shrimp were outrageously salted to the point they were both not edible. Horrible job Kiki ! I am throughly disappointed.

Ravonne V.

Yelp
They need help! They need now hiring sign flashing on the door! The food wasn't horrible, but it could have been better to enhance the experience.

Yelp
Visited this spot today after a work meeting. There were nine of us, so we were hoping to find somewhere that we could all sit together. Right when we walked in we were hit with heavenly smells. Also, they had good music playing so that was just an added bonus. They were busy, but not super packed. The hostess was very friendly and got us seated at a table that would fit us all. Our waitress was Joy, and again, she had such a great personality and friendly smile. We all ordered and our appetizers came out pretty quickly. The food definitely took a minute, but to fair it was a large party. It wasn't an excessive wait by any means. We got corn nuggets and fried okra to share. Yum. Some of us didn't have to go back to work so they enjoyed mimosas. They looked delish! I order the salmon patty combo. It was A LOT of food. Everything tasted like it was straight out of grandmas kitchen. I also tasted someone's honey chicken wings and WOW. The sweet and salty was just... mmm. Definitely will be getting those next time. We all really enjoyed our visit, and I definitely want to come back to try some other menu options!

Yelp
Showed up at 1058am, the restaurant opens at 11am. When we approached, we noticed the door opened and the one of the waitresses rude as hell, said "PLEASE STEP OUT AND DON'T COME IN UNTIL 11"... so we waited the 2 minutes and walked in. If that was the approach she wanted to take fine, but be kind about it. Anywho, we were seated and though it was fairly empty folks were starting to come in, but definitely not busy. Our waitress was pleasant and nice, but was slow. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time considering we had a party of 5. But the food was GREAT! I had the pancakes and chicken and you definitely get what you pay for. Pancakes were huge and chicken was seasoned well! Good experience, but wasn't a fan of the staff at all. I will definitely go back, but to the other location.

Maydell M.

Yelp
Food quality was poor, service declined when ignored. The ambiance was just okay. The salmon was overly salty, overcooked, and seemed store-bought.

Chamiese N.

Yelp
Great food, good service and I can't wait to go back. Initially attempted to come on a Saturday morning while charging my Tesla, but ran out of time. I made it my mission to bring my husband back before the holiday weekend. We walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and we're greeted by a warm friendly face. The hostess sat us immediately. The good: We ordered breakfast and dinner. My husband ordered the fish (whiting fillet- heavy bones) and cheese grits, my daughter requested the chicken and pancakes. I opted for a southern platter of pork chop (grilled and fried) with collard greens and fried okra. They have the best collard greens in the south. The okra was hot and seasoned to perfection. At the end I wish I ordered more grilled pork chop because they were juicy and boasting with flavor. The other good: A casual place with great prices. I would recommend this place for groups because there's ample parking and offers a large dining section. I noticed they have a nice bar and patio dining area. There's lots of free parking and the area is beautiful.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible this is the second time in a row. The are extremely slow the customer service is non existent. The food both times was cold and old. 28.47 got me 7 pieces of popcorn shrimp and 2 pieces of whiting. The grits were so old and cold they were solid like a kilo of cocaine!! Two thumbs down again

Reginald B.

Yelp
Was in town and excited to try to this place turns out Food is horrible, It is is very unorganized and the service isn't great. They gave me old/ refried burnt chicken and tee waiting 40 mins. The boy this that was decent were the waffles.

Caleb M.

Yelp
Great southern cuisine paired with Southern hospitality. The menu is extensive enough to offer a scrumptious meal for every preference.

Laura W.

Yelp
Would not recommend this restaurant. Service was fine and our waitress was kind. Fried okra appetizer tasted okay but there was a pool of grease in the bottom of the dish. Cream corn nuggets had a good flavor, but they were so hard to bite into that it took away from the enjoyment. Pancakes were burned, fried fish meal had a bad taste. Their corn muffin was delicious, but it tasted like a vanilla cupcake. I'm assuming they added some of their waffle batter into the corn muffin, which is why it tasted of vanilla. Ambiance is poor. They have a water leak near the bathrooms and water was dripping down off an electrical looking box(it had a flashing light) so it seemed unsafe. The best item we ate was the fried shrimp.

John P.

Yelp
I went here once for take out. Service was good. The place could use better ventilation in the kitchen as the place smells of fried food. To be fair, they get a lot of sun so that does make it worse than another place. I had the salmon patties... I make better at home... they had a fishy taste to them so it's probably the canned salmon they use. My partner was happy with her meal but I forgot what she had... so sorry

Jennifer C.

Yelp
So my review is for To-Go, I was bummed because my waffle which smelled like CAKE was soggy but that is my fault because I should have ate it there! I ordered the chicken and waffles and the food was nice and hot when I picked it up. The wings were flavorful and honeyyyyy that waffle was so fluffy and tasty!! They give plenty of syrup to go and don't forget the hot sauce! Also, be better than me and eat the food there---soggy waffles are no fun

Tina G.

Yelp
Food is average at best. Appears this may have been a good restaurant at some point in time, but now too many corners take away from the authenticity of the food.

Lenwood H.

Yelp
How to get experience. We enjoyed our trip. The only thing I get to say is the table was sticky, but it is a waffle place so that's understandable.

Shantoria S.

Yelp
I've visited this location a few times before and this was by far my best experience eating here. Surprisingly no waiting to sit down and no crowd. Our servers were pleasant the entire time, and the food was brought out quick. Everything was delicious! Not sure if Saturday mornings are the best times to come here but I had no complaints! Food: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Location: 10/10 Parking: 10/10 (lots of parking available) )

Damon B.

Yelp
We ate here back in April and the food was excellent except for the Mac & cheese, it wasn't your mama and nems

Diana P.

Yelp
Food service ambiance. Brick my server professional courteous young man visiting from Utah Kiki's come to Utah! My steak was perfect

Ronald R.

Yelp
Nice establishment. The food was very good. I would like to see the collard greens cut up better than they was on 6/15/24 because they were to big. The taste was right on point the reason I didn't send them back.

J D.

Yelp
Yesterday my sister and I visited Kiki's Chicken and Waffles for lunch. They had a variety of items on the menu. We both ordered the Kiki's Soul Food Plate with 2 sides. I had 4 fried chicken wings, collards, a side salad and a muffin. When I tell you everything was Very Very Good, Excellent, Superb, It Was!! The chicken wings were fried just right, the collards were cooked just right and the muffin was Awesome! Don't judge the food by looking at the building it is located in. As I was leaving I saw someone had a whiting fish plate. Y'all, it looked delicious also. When I usually go to Columbia SC, I frequent a seafood restaurant...but now I will be returning to Kiki's Chicken and Waffles Restaurant.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Came here after a long day of trying on bridesmaids dresses in Columbia. We wanted to go to Cheddars but they are no longer in business (bummer) so this was the next spot. Nice location and great music vibes. For was ok. I was expecting more. I got the sweet potato fries. They have a drizzle on them. They were a bit over cooked and hard. Got fish and waffles to try something different and the fish didn't have much flavor. I got a side of grits and Mac and cheese... no flavor. I was a bit disappointed by this place. Maybe it was just the wrong day... maybe I'll give it another try. But I expected more.

Alana K.

Yelp
Went with a couple of my friends and some of their kids so it's definitely family friendly. The food overall was just mid. Nothing really tasted as if it was seasoned besides the chicken and fries. Overall it was okay. Just barely okay.

Beneature W.

Yelp
My experience was amazing! We ate at the Bower Pkwy A8, Columbia, SC 29212 one. i was pleased. The food was so good and everything was really fresh. Me and my cousin walked in and were seated immediately. We had a great waitress that provided us everything we need. We have alot of food. The restaurant was clean to.

Monique J.

Yelp
I am VERY disappointed in this restaurant. I have been dying to come here for a very long time. We were finally able to come and boy was I upset. Parking was good outside, we didn't have to walk far to the door. When we entered the restaurant, NO one greeted us. There were two employees at the empty bar talking and looking but no greeting. We stood and looked around for 4 minutes before we were finally greeted. This restaurant CAN NOT accommodate a party of 5. The table they were going to seat us was dirty. So we ended up at a booth and had to get a chair. The table space wasn't idea for a party of 5. FYI Makayla our waitress told us a LIE about the wing sizes. We specifically ask if the wings were jumbo or regular size. She told us regular, so we went on and ordered. Because we didn't want the steroid wings. The food was NOT hot it was maybe warm. 1. Honey sauce wings, Mac and sweet potatoes; My basket was full of sauce, Mac had no flavor. The sweet potatoes were flavorful. The corn bread muffin that was provided was hard as hell. ‍ 2. Honey sauce wings with fries; Basket full of sauce, fries COLD 3. Kids meal chicken and waffle; Waffle had NO flavor and as you can see the butter didn't even melt. 4. Kids meal grilled cheese and fries; The grilled cheese was 5 seconds from being BURNT 5. Wings, Mac, collards, potato salad and fried okra; Warm wings, nasty collards, served with warm potatoes salad. Sad to say we will NOT be back to this establishment at all. Never again

Wendy P.

Yelp
I went to Kiki's chicken and waffles today. I ordered the seafood platter with shrimp, fish and fries. I also added a side of macaroni and cheese. The portions are a good size. The fish was pretty good. The shrimp was very salty and the macaroni and cheese needs to be taken off the menu. They should never sell this. This was my first time going and I may give it another shot trying breakfast items on the menu.

Joshua P.

Yelp
Starting off, was pleasantly greeted at the front door and sat immediately. Once seated, was greeted by our server who was upbeat and polite. I ordered the soul food plate. OMG. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fell right off the bone. I got sweet potato soufflé and string beans. The taters were AMAZING!!! I could eat a whole bowl of them everyday if I could. The string beans were pleasantly seasoned and temp wise were on point. The meal also came with cornbread and that was also pretty darn good! All in all, the best southern food around in Cola!

James D.

Yelp
I visit my sister and brother in law Columbia and they took my wife and I to KiKi's and I had the chickens and collards greens and Mac-cheese everything was delicious I recommend Kiki restaurant. Please support our black business.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken wing dinner with 4 wings, two sides (sweet potato soufflé and mac & cheese) with a corn muffin. The wings were great. My sides were horrible, unfortunately. The Mac & cheese was burnt and super dry. The sweet potato soufflé was over powering. I spent over $20 and threw away my sides.

Dametria W.

Yelp
We decided to celebrate Fathers Day at Kiki's and we weren't disappointed. The food was great! The service was amazing. We had a party of 10 and she never missed a beat! I had the fish and grits and French toast. The fish is fried light and not very seasoned but still tasteful. The French toast was great and I ate a chicken wing off of my boyfriend's plate and it made up for the fish. The place is big enough to accommodate large parties it's a diner style set up. The music is nice, the chairs are a little hard but once again the food makes up for it.

Kamille H.

Yelp
Wish I could give more stars but my experience was just meh. My friend and I stopped in on our way back from South Carolina. The place was definitely busy but we decided to stick it out. This review will be mostly questions that need answers. The service...Who was the guy at the front? Why were his pants hanging so low while he was interacting with customers and seating people? Why did he ignore us for so long? Why was our server so spaced out the entire time? Whose hair was in my friend's chicken? Why was everything we touched so sticky? I will say that the actual taste of the food was good, which is why I gave 3 stars. My friend and I both had chicken and waffles. The chicken was hot and crispy and the waffle was soft and sweet. I really liked it. All in all, with the taste of the food and some staff improvements this place could easily be getting 5 star reviews. I'd go back.

Cat T.

Yelp
We stopped by Kiki's Chicken and Waffles after hearing raving reviews from friends. We came in the afternoon after calling in a to-go order. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait, so we came in after the time but still ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes. When we talked to the hostess, it turned out they had given our order to somebody else and we had to wait 15 more minutes to get our food. We took our food home to eat--I got a sweet potato waffle with four chicken wings, hot sauce on the side. It also came with maple syrup, honey butter, and brown sugar. Even though it wasn't fresh out of the oven, the food was DELICIOUS! The sweet potato waffle had a perfect amount of spice and paired great with the fried chicken. It was a little soggy since we had to wait to get home to eat it, but nothing an air fryer can't fix. Our wings were huge, crispy, and juicy and tasted great with the tangy hot sauce. It was about $14 and definitely worth it. The only reason why this place wasn't a five-star was because of the long wait and mix up. The food is delicious and I can't wait to come back and dine in!

Francesca P.

Yelp
After reading about their fried chicken, I decided to give it a try! I was extremely disappointed, I ordered este the breasts, it had absolutely no taste to it, and it was extremely dried! I also ordered the Shrimps & Grits, it was a disaster, the sausage on it was salty. I can't imagine, who could possibly give this place a five stars!

Terry C.

Yelp
Food was at or above expectations. Chicken and waffles did not disappoint and my wife's veggie plate was amazing and plentiful with four sides and muffin. Really appreciated the great and fun attitudes of the greeter who seated us, as well as our server! Look forward to coming back!

Kristine F.

Yelp
Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Food was good. Chicken was very tender and flavorful. Very big servings so come prepared to eat!

Karin B.

Yelp
The food was amazing. They do not serve alcohol. Only wine for mimosas. I had breakfast and dinner. Both meals were amazing. The service was good. Waited about 10 minutes but they were busy so it's okay.

Joshelyn ..

Yelp
I love this location! I will know be frequenting this location versus the original cause the Parklane location's service and food quality has declined DRASTICALLY! I don't even order the soufflé at the Parklane location however I did at this one and it was ON POINT!!!! The bartender Rick and the kitchen manager Tony were amazing and took great care of me on Super Bowl Sunday. The quality was great! Very pleased!

Antwan D.

Yelp
Enjoyed the chicken and waffles (waffles were world class). The sides were also very good, had greens and Mac and Cheese. Would come back! The service was also very good.

True T.

Yelp
Place was VERY clean when we walked in and appealing. Ordered quickly using their QR menu. Food was good and our waitress was amazing. Would definitely go back. Also, food is reasonably priced.

Keith D.

Yelp
A great soul food restaurant. Had the bbq salmon and hadhbrowns. Hot, delicious, and supper quick. 1 waffle size of plate, 1 large piece of salmon (bottom skin removed then cooked), covered i bbq sauce. Usually comes with 2 sides. Hot sauce on table in squeeze bottle. Definitely work a try if you like soul food. Chicken and waffles has 2 breast or 4 wings.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Disappointing have visited several times. Every time is worse than the last. Sticky floors, menus, and tables. Dry Mac and cheese and tasteless chicken. My last visit was my final visit. Focused on growth and not quality. The staff don't even care about the restaurant.
