Kiki's Chicken and Waffles

WARNING: after my family had lunch we immediately went home and took a nap. Service was great (thank you Kia). Kitchen wasn't fast, but it takes like 20 minutes to fry chicken so ... We got smothered chops over rice. The portion was double what I expected. My son got chicken and waffles, a full waffle with two breasts. Huge All the food was awesome, served hot. We'll definitely be back but I gotta bring more people next time. Maybe we'll make it to dessert...

I almost wrote this place off. I have been a fan of Kiki's for years but the last 2 times I visited the Columbia locations the food has been off. I was excited when they opened one in North Charleston but concerned that the food would not be good. I finally had the opportunity to visit and it did not disappoint. The food reminded me of when I was first introduced to Kiki's on Two Notch. I was blown away and knew I would be a fan. The North Charleston location was clean, the server was friendly, the service was fast, and the food was GOOD! Those waffles are unmatched and the chicken is crispy and seasoned. I only got the half our of caution along with some grits, eggs, and sausage (something safe). It was a good experience and I will be back.

First time at Kiki’s and when I say I’ll definitely be coming back I had the pleasure of have two phenomenal server Monet and Gordon . Wings and Mac and Cheese Bites were magnificent. Thank you for this amazing atmosphere -and full stomach ❤️. See you again

Came here to support my son and his wrestling team's fundraiser. This place is beautiful, the service was excellent.My server was Shawnte J.She handled this team of hungry teens with patience,kindness and understanding. We had the red velvet waffles and chicken, Buffalo wings fries and mac and cheese.This food was seasoned very well and the waffle was fluffy and very moist.This was our 1st time and it was amazing.My son said he's having his birthday breakfast here next month. They definitely gain a new customer.

I had my first experience at this restaurant and decided to try the chicken and waffles dish. Excellent waffles, delicious chicken. The restaurant was pretty decent, light on decor but pretty relaxed atmosphere. The wait for my takeout order was about 15 minutes, and the cashier and servers were polite, professional and friendly. I definitely plan to return to this restaurant and try some other dishes

While at the South Carolina alliance of black school educators conference last week, a number of attendees decided to eat at Kiki’s. This was my first time visiting Kiki’s restaurant. Enjoying the experience with my friends made it even more special. The fish was fried very well. The grits were a bit chunky for me in certain areas. However, the fried apple pie with the ice cream, really hit the spot to end off my meal on a very positively high note.

We heard a lot about this place so we decided to try while waiting for my car to be serviced. I had the original Kiki’s Chicken and Waffles and my husband had the chicken and french toast. We both enjoyed our food. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded so we didn’t have a wait and it took about 20 minutes or so for us to get our food once we ordered. Our food was delicious and we will definitely be back. Next time I will ask for my wings to be fried a little longer. It was perfect for my husband. It’s just a personal preference. I had pecans added to my waffles and that was great. I’ll be back to try the sweet potato waffles.

Overall, everything was delicious here! We were hesitant due to the recent reviews. However, we are glad we did. The restaurant is located in North Charleston. Definitely, get the fried chicken, red velvet cake waffle (I've tasted nothing like it), and the shrimp and grits. The smaller portion is enough, and the sausage is slightly spicy. Very delicious. The atmosphere was enjoyable. There was a lot of space and room at the tables and around the restaurant. I wish there was more than one bathroom stall. The only four star I would give it to the service . We had a rather large table. I wish they would have been more attentive to refilling the drinks at the table. The waiter and waitresses were pleasant, though. I'll come back every time I'm in Charleston.

Thank you the amazing staff at Kiki's for the hospitality and patience, as this was our first time visiting! The food is comforting and delicious! We came in on a Saturday afternoon, they seemed less busy, but we were in the mood for some chicken and waffles! To my surprise they offered pancakes with chicken and I was sold. My fiancé and I had a great time, they had nostalgic TV shows on, great music and the staff were full of personality and laughter. Truly a spot for a casual vibe and great food!

I had the pleasure of trying out Kiki's with my mom on 14 April 2025 , I ordered 2 Soul Food Plates for us ( One with Fried Okra and Mac&Cheese and the other one with Mac&Cheese and Sweet Potato Souffle ) , and also 2 Apple Pies for dessert.. [ The Sweet Potato Souffle definitely brought back memories for me.. And tasted like a replica of my grandmothers sweet potato pie ] The food smelled amazing and tasted okay but both I and my mom had feathers in all 4 of our Chicken Wings ( that comes included with the Soul Food Plate )... So hopefully next time the cook carefully examines the food and plucks the feathers. Overall this was an okay spot and I will look forward to visiting again for more Sweet Potato Souffle!!!

Went here with a group of friends. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I got a pecan waffle with 2 chicken breasts that were well-seasoned. Our server was so nice and checked on us regularly. There's plenty of seating. I'd go back.

Waited a few weeks after opening to try and have been twice now. Once to go and this last time we dined in!! I was really impressed with the facelift given to the shopping center. Definitely has curb appeal now. Everything was amazing both times!! The service was quick and efficient. So thankful we have a location here now. I had the sweet potato waffle with chicken. Both were very good. I will add pecans to my waffle next time, as the combination just seems like it would work. The chicken came out steaming hot and just as tasty as the ones I have had in Columbia. They were a little in the small side for wings, but would definitely order them again. My daughter had the salmon patties with grits and she said it was delicious! The grits came out hot, creamy and smooth. I did try her grits as they "were calling me" and they did not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly, especially considering we walked in right before their lunch crowd! I cannot wait to go back!

Welcome to Charleston Kiki's Chicken and Waffles. I've visited their location in Columbia before and I loved the location, food and service. I dined during an early lunch so there was no wait. I ordered the lunch special which was 2 wings with 2 sides(I chose potato salad and white rice with gravy), my bestie had the lunch special 3 whole chicken wings with your choice of a half waffle. We both enjoyed our meal and it was more than enough. We definitely will be back to enjoy more of the menu.

I definitely recommend! I had seen the high ratings from yelp already so I sent some friends when they were looking for some good southern food and they really enjoyed it so I had to try it for myself. The service was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything and we had a visit from the manager who was checking to make sure everything was good. We had excellent food. We tried the Kiki's chicken and waffles. I got it with the boneless chicken breast and the red velvet waffle. The chicken wings and fries, the breakfast combo with bacon, eggs, and a Belgian waffle and the 4 side meal. The macaroni and cheese was perfect. And the sweet tea was most excellent. I will be back for sure. It's a cute restaurant in a storefront. The deck rations are simple and clean cut. We went on a Sunday at lunch time and it was not overly busy so it was not noisy or crowded.

I enjoyed the meal and the staff were personable The food was a nice portion and delicious. They can make the waffles anyway you'd like.

My husband and I tried Kiki's Chicken and Waffles for the first time on a Friday evening. The restaurant is quite large, but was fairly quiet, with only a few occupied tables. The service was very friendly, but a little on the slower side at first, which was fine as we weren't in a hurry, and our server kept our drinks filled and checked in frequently. The food took a while to be delivered to the table (and my husband's food showed up a good 5-10 minutes before mine), but holy moly! My husband ordered Mama B's Chicken & Waffle, and I ordered the fried wings & fries. The chicken was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had, hands down, seasoned so well, and hot right from the fryer. The fries were cooked perfectly. My husband added blueberries to his waffle, and loved every bite. The waffle was also enormous! I definitely recommend Kiki's Chicken and Waffles, and we will definitely go back in the future!

I wasn't impressed. Chicken was mediocre fries were horrible. Service was great.i also feel it was lil pricey as well just for lunch. Maybe I might try again for dinner at a later date.

My husband and I went here for the first time and it was a pleasant experience. We were greeted and seated. Drinks first, I had a sweet tea which was not overly sweet, so good! We both ordered chicken and waffles. Hubby got the red velvet waffle and said it was delicious; I wouldn't know because he didn't offer me any (so it must have been good). I had the sweet potato waffle, which on the menu it said with chocolate - maybe it was in the batter? Instead I noticed finely chopped pecans in my waffle. It was all really good, especially the chicken wings- seasoned to perfection! I did let them know about the sweet potato waffle having pecans. It can be a hazard to someone with nut allergies with it not being described in the menu. Overall great service, music, and food. We will be recommending and returning to try more on the menu.

After visiting locations in Columbia, I'm excited that we now have one in Charleston. Ordered a meal to-go. The wait was around 10-15 minutes after ordering in the restaurant. I ordered a started of Salmon patties and a 1/2 rack of ribs meal with 2 sides of mashed potatoes (no gravy) and green beans. The Salmon patties were perfect on my way home in traffic. Ribs were delicious. The green beans were peppery. The mashed potatoes may have been better with gravy. There is so much more on the menu that I want to try, so I'll be back soon.

Top notch service from our waitress Nikki! Everything was on point! The seasoning on the chicken was perfection not to mention the chicken literally slid off the bone. The salad had a good mix of fresh ingredients. The biscuit was melt in your mouth delicious and don't get me started on the red velvet waffle with the icing drizzle... life changing. I was visiting Charleston foe work and a colleague who lives in North Charleston recommended Kiki's Chicken and Waffles. It is located in a strip mall but do not let that deter you. The service was excellent, the waitstaff are friendly and attentive. I visited the restaurant at 11 am on. Saturday and it was fairly quiet at the time, but it quickly filled up. I ordered the waffle platter and went with the red velvet waffles. Please do not pass on the red velvet waffles, it comes with fresh strawberries and a cream cheese icing. I will definitely visit again.

Had an awesome lunch at Kiki's Chicken and Waffles in North Charleston. Located in the Gaslight Square on Rivers and Remount, it's in the old The Oriental Cuisine spot. I had the Kiki's Chicken and Waffle selection which gave me two large boneless breasts of chicken on a large waffle. My wife got the option with 4 different boned in pieces and had leftovers. They've got a ton of other items also as you can see from the menu. The staff were great, service was fast, and food was amazing. The only con I had was that you ate using plastic cutlery, which at times was a bit awkward. Give them a try as soon as you can, you won't regret it.

Smothered pork chops and sides were amazing! Mac and cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes. However! The chicken wings were incredibly small and cooked very hard. We could barely taste the seasoning. That took away overall from the taste and experience. Will order the legs and thighs next time. Service was good. Our server was very polite and stopped by often. Ambience was a little noisy. Wife says it was giving off a lunch room cafeteria vibe with the decor. Your signature meal should probably be on point always. Especially if that meal is a part of your name. We went to the one in Columbia and was extremely satisfied! We will give it another shot in a couple of months. Let them work out the kinks

We were seated very quickly on a Friday night by a very friendly hostess. The restaurant was clean and our waitress was sweet and attentive. Our food came out quickly and was AMAZING. The chicken was hot, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. The red velvet waffle was perfectly sweet and the blueberry waffle had more blueberries in it than any other waffle I've had at a restaurant. We can't wait to come back to Kiki's!

I stopped in for a to go order after my kids appointment on Rivers. I got the chicken and waffle lunch special with a side of fried Mac&cheese balls. The chicken wings were good but 3 out of 4 were very small and dry with not much seasoning on them. But the one wing that was a great size and seasoned well was delicious. Wish all of the wings were that good. The mac&cheese balls were very good. I would go again and try something else and give the wings another go. The service was very good as well.

Awesome. Food was fresh and delicious. I'm not from South Carolina, but I choose to visit for my birthday this year. I was not disappointed. If you're ever in the Charleston area, try Kiki's Chicken and Waffle. I did receive a treat and I am glad I was able to try it and it was the red velvet waffle. You cannot go wrong with it.

The food was good. I had the smothered pork chops over white rice. The service was very good very considerate. Ambiance is casual and laid back. I would definitely come back again. Nice place to eat.

We came in with a group of about 20. They did everything they could to accommodate our group. Even though we all couldn't sit together, everyone enjoyed it. The staff was super nice, and the food was amazing. We would definitely go back again.

The wings here were literally the best I've ever had! I didn't know honey sauce existed but now I do. I will absolutely be back when I'm in NC. The server was super nice and the environment was very chill. Loved the entire experience!

The food was great I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken was nice and crispy and well season. The service was great the young lady that served us was pleasant and friendly.

The food was great. I ordered the fried chicken wings with mac and cheese and collard greens. The collards tasted good but it had to many stalks in them. I don't know if that's an every day thing because it was my first time eating there. I will try Kiki chicken and waffles again.

My family came into the restraunt this afternoon, the food was cold and our service did everything to get it right for us, I understand the restraunt in new so we will definitely come back, our server was very sweet and gave great service, I believe she said her name was Kylee

The food was not that great at all, wasted my time and money, the staff is lazy and their appearance is not professional at all, they looked they wore the same clothes from the day before! I like supporting black businesses, but this one has a lot of work to do for anyone standard! I hope to visit again, but it will be a while. Ambiance was plain like you just walked in to a pop-up shop that's only said to be there for a week. They definitely have a lot of things to fix and change before I'll be back! The sad part is, we waited for months for this place to open just to be disappointed.

I had the chicken and waffle salad today for lunch and the salad was delectable! I will be back.

After Hyping this restaurant for a while thought I would stop in with family try their signature dish, Chicken & Waffles, very disappointed, waffles were cold as was the hard dollop of butter that did not melt. No coffee had to settle for tea, although the manager offered to make a cup. I will try again, giving this as hopefully constructive criticism.

Overly generous portions and great service. We wanted a local restaurant because we were visiting from out of town. I would recommend this place. Excellent!

Food at Kiki's was great. I had the waffle with 4 chicken wings- delicious. My partner had salmon patties with grits and biscuit- also great. Menu is varied and I saw many things I would like to try. We will definitely be going back.
