Kilchoan Estate

My sister and i recently stayed in Tigh-na-Dobhran on the Kilchoan estate and had a wonderful week despite five rainy days. This house is warm, light and comfortable and very attractive inside. Just to sit and watch the deer through the large windows was delightful, or the many birds feeding their young. We walked every day despite the weather and it was a welcoming house to return to. The farm shop a couple of minutes walk away was a great boon. Jacqui, the administrator, responded speedily to any queries and helped us, through the taxi service of her daughter Stephanie, to eat the most wonderful meal at Doune Dining Rooms, some six miles away. As the mists came down Jacqui returned with Stephanie in case we got lost on the twenty-minute scramble up from Doune to the road and required rescuing. In the ten years we have been taking holidays together Tigh-na-Dobhran comes out top of many fine holiday cottages.

Wonderfully stocked shop for those doing self catering or B and B. Lots of locally sourced produce available.
