Kill Devil Dogs

This was our 2nd time here, and we brought our whole family! We would absolutely be regulars if we lived closer. The veggie dogs are AMAZING👏🏼🤩 My 2 nephews completed the hot dog challenge, which was a lot of fun for us to watch, and others joined in on cheering them through the pain. The fries are so tasty and perfectly salted. It was a great memory to make while celebrating my nephew's graduation. We will absolutely be there as soon as we are back your way🌭🌭 Thanks for being awesome and having food my whole family enjoyed!!

This place is amazing! The hot dogs were delicious, and the service was phenomenal. The older gentleman cooking and serving the food truly makes the place feel like home—he’s incredibly kind and welcoming. And the prices? Unbeatable! I spent just $13 for two fully loaded dogs, fries, and a drink. You really can’t beat that. I highly recommend this spot!

Fantastic service and incredibly polite staff! A young woman took our order and was very sweet and the older gentleman who brought us our food was great! Hot dogs are fantastic, nachos are good and the fries are perfection!! The old fashioned limeade is amazing as well. Will be coming back on our next trip!

What a wonderful hole in the wall spot! The experience was so great on my trip we went twice! Once when we arrived in town&& then when we rode bikes around town. The first visit we got fries, very crunchy& great flavor! I got the kill devil dog, which was absolutely wonderful. A great mixture of the spicy and cheese ratio making it not too spicy! The next visit I had a Pirates cove dog& the Chicago dog both with the red dog hot dogs! The pirates cove was spicy, but very savory flavors! The Chicago dog wasn’t disappointing ether! It was my first time trying one and it definitely made me want to get it again! Their brewed sweet tea was absolutely refreshing as well! Overall wonderful food, great atmosphere, quick service, and very chill spot to grab a bite to eat!! Also would like to shout out the wonderful staff for being so friendly and efficient! Definitely would recommend trying this place and definitely going to visit again!

This is a great place to get an affordable meal. They have a variety of different styles of hotdogs, like beef, skin on snap dog, NC red dog and a spicy sausage option. All the different hotdog combinations that we tried were really good and the the staff were very attentive to our needs and very friendly. Thanks for a great meal!

Best meal I had in OBX. You can try several different types of regional hot dogs (love Bright Leaf, and they’re hard to find) and the fixings are great. I had a Chicago dog and a dog with chili and coleslaw; both were perfection. The owner was interesting too, and really knew his hot dogs! Highly recommend—I’m going back again tomorrow!

How can 8 hot dogs take 45 minutes to make?! Called to place an order. Was told it would be ready "soon". Didn't get them for 45 minutes. The corn dogs were literally black. The hot dogs were a soggy mess. Would not recommend unless you want to waste a good portion of your day waiting for overpriced trash. EDIT TO REPLY TO OWNER: We did let you know there was an issue and you did nothing to rectify it then, hence the bad review.

My oh my where do I begin.This place is so ammmmmmmmazzzzzzzing, from the order being taken to us leaving it was very memorable!! These hotdogs were so unique and unbelievable delicious, the personal experience that you get here I’ve never got anywhere else! I just cannot thank that man enough for the impression he left on my little ones by just hanging their pictures on the wall and the personal conversation he had with us I can’t wait to come back to outer banks just to stall in and have a nags header hotdog. Much appreciation for Kill devil Dogs.

If you blink, you might miss it. That said, it's well worth finding. Great quality dogs served up by great staff in a mom n' pop setting. If you're new to NC, order up a Brightleaf Carolina red all-the-way. This homegrown rite of passage is served up in the classic style of yellow mustard, Brightleaf chili, onions & slaw. Brightleaf's are hard to find and the company's chili even harder. If you're a "snap-dog" w/ kraut person, don't worry, they're great too. Enjoy.

The variety was good and really great prices but it was the staff that made this place 5 stars! Great for kids. Extremely kind people work there, we will be back next time we vacation here.

Very good. I like the variety and flavors. Not your typical hot dog. I got an Italian sausage with potatoes. Very tasty.

When I go to the beach, I inevitably crave a hot dog or two. I was beyond glad to stumble across this spot with reasonably priced dogs that were made fresh. I had the Pirates' Cove dog with hot pepper spread, onions and spicy brown mustard that really hit the spot + a standard dog. Simple and delicious, and the employees working the counter were incredibly friendly.

Loved the Chicago dog and the snaps! The people behind the counter were exceptionally nice, as were the people who were eating there. They all spoke to us. We definitely recommend Kill Devil Dogs. FYI: They close at 3:30. They also own the pizza shop next store which opens at 5pm. We will try that shop this week.

Food was pretty mediocre but the service was outstanding! Very welcoming staff. The ambiance had a old school feel and the amount of seating seemed perfect.

Friendly service and delicious dogs. Seriously maybe the best chili dog I've ever had. They have multiple kinds of dogs from traditional Hebrew to snap and red dogs... with all the fixings you'd want and more. Will be back!

Great variety of toppings for hot dogs, and a wide selection of hot sauces too. For non meat eaters they have vegan dogs and loaded baked potatoes. Friendly and helpful staff. Small dining area, but wasn't crowded at lunch time. Not sure why because it is a great little place. I thoroughly enjoyed the music also. It was classic electric blues.

Open 4 hours a day for 4 days ,might as well leave the doors shut.. unbelievable In peak season middle of July ...very poor business practices

If you want a great hotdog Or sausage, then don't miss KD Dogs! My family of 4, with 2 kids under 12, all enjoyed what we ate. The kids especially raves about the corn dogs. The price was right and the service was fantastic.

We did the chili cheese dog & Kill Devil dog. Both equally delicious!! Chili cheese was covered in gooey cheesy goodness & had a great snap. The Kill Devil was shredded cheese with sliced jalapeños. Damn tasty!!

Great little place! The staff are super friendly and the food was outstanding. Great hot dogs with a variety of toppings. Nachos were really great! Would definitely come back here for a good, easy lunch!

This place has any kind of hot dog you can think of. They also had a variety of drinks to choose from. I got a cheese dog with a regular fry. The regular fry was big enough to share with another person. My mom got the New Yorker dog and said it was delicious.

Living down here off and on most of my life and permanently for the past 5 years, I found an amazing hotdog place!! The chef there has a passion for hotdogs. He knows his stuff. He is familiar with famous hotdog places up and down the coast and takes them to the next level. I love it enough to join yelp and write a review!!

Our daughter loves hot dogs so we took a chance and took her there for her birthday for lunch and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious and fresh, the staff was super friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean, and we really enjoyed the overall experience!! They even had something to choose from for our son who is a really picky eater. I will definitely take my family there again when we come into the area, and have already told about 10 people to check them out!!

Great Find! I was a little apprehensive, seeing they had no reviews on Yelp, and my family had gone to Captain Frank's for decades. However, this place was much better than Captain Frank's had been for a long time now. The staff was stellar and very patient and friendly. The dogs themselves were awesome with a variety of hot dog options (including an Italian sausage dog, my favorite). It was great to eat at a place that didn't just hide behind their toppings but had an awesome hot dog through and through. With that said, their toppings and special dogs where equally delicious. I'm not even that big of a hot dog person myself, but I will definitely be returning here for years to come.

Looking for a place for a great lunch, I whole heartedly recommend you come here. Staff was fantastic and the hot dogs even better! Try the kill devil dog!

Great little spot, it's right on the beach road in Kill Devil Hills at milepost 8.5. Multiple types of hotdogs to choose from, as well classic toppings and nachos. Get the Italian Dog with fried potatoes, trust me!

We came in with a large order and it was put together pretty quickly. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious!
