Where to Drink Coffee in Nashville

"You’ll find Killebrew in the lobby of the Thompson Hotel, a slick shop churning out afternoon pick-me-ups for the Gulch crowd. Stop in and sip on one of their specialty lattes, like the Gulchie with either vanilla or caramel, the Maria Latte with honey and cinnamon, or the seasonal Gimme S’more with mocha, marshmallow cold foam, and graham cracker crumbles. Other coffee options include French press, cold brew, Americano, macchiato, cortado, flat white, and café au lait. Don’t forget to grab one of the chef cookies or a seasonal scones to go with your cuppa." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Located in a hotel so parking can be difficult. They are open on Thanksgiving, which is a plus. Pretty good coffee menu featuring seasonal drinks. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

My friend and I got iced blackberry matchas, a cheddar, bacon, and chive scone, and a breakfast sandwich. My scone was great, but her sandwich was pretty greasy. Both of the matchas were bad enough that we threw them out before we had even had half. The matcha tasted pretty low quality, and I don't think the barista prepared it properly: it was full of clumps and tasted chalky. My friend also had to go up and ask for more blackberry, as neither of us could taste any originally. The barista was very nice about adding more syrup, though! Overall, there are better places. It wasn't horrible, but it was way too expensive for the quality we got.

Google
The staff were very sweet, but unfortunately so was the “Silly Goose” coffee I ordered. It was undrinkable and I threw the whole thing away. I was a silly goose for ordering it!

Google
I went there around 1pm on a Friday and there was no line and service was fast! Went there around 10:45am on a Saturday, and had to wait 30 minutes to order. So beware of the early morning rush! I got the Cuban latte and it was tasty! But the gulchie was so good and even had glitter in it! So fun!

L B

Google
I had the chocolate croissant and the gulchie. They were both wonderful! They also carry matcha tea and have the best chocolate chip cookies!

First, enter this location through the hotel entrance to the left (see pictures attached). K I gave them a 3* for great customer service, clean location, friendly staff, and speedy service as well. I got an iced vanilla caramel brew with milk and it was ok. Worth trying over the Starbucks down the road for sure.

Google
Good coffee for a hotel, but with Barista Parlor blocks away in two directions, hard to recommend this over them. Espresso is a bit watery and not acidic enough for my liking. Located inside the Thompson. Must enter through the hotel for some reason.

Jennifer Schultz

Google
The cold brew was not good and the cold foam was very weird. It clotted on top of the cold brew. We actually threw it away. The service was great and the people were very nice but I wouldn’t recommend

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee places in Nashville. We absolutely loved the coffee here, but even more their pastries. We ordered the Maple Pecan Scone, which had an incredible flavor and it was very soft and moist. My only critique is that the scone was very heavy / thick / dense, but the flavor profile made up for it. It was a very enjoyable morning to hang out here for a bit.

Yelp
Cute, quaint coffee shop inside the Thompson Hotel. Well priced. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Both of us enjoyed our hot lattes on a chilly morning. Service was quick. I got the fools good and my husband got the gulchie
google avatar

Nisha J.

Yelp
Stopped in for some much needed coffee and it was worth it. I had the gulchie (similar to caramel macchiato) but not as sweet. I definitely enjoyed the coffee while strolling through the area. They have pastries, sandwiches etc as well.
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
Solid coffee shop to try if you are in the Gulch! We had a latte and a flat white. Both were good and the ambiance was cute and fun!
google avatar

Yelp
I was eating breakfast nearby and wanted to snag a coffee on my way out. Killebrew Coffee was close by and easy to get to! They are located inside a hotel but easy to get to from the lobby. There was a bit of a line but it moves quickly. Our drinks came up so fast! I opted for the Hot Girl Summer, which wasn't super flavorful, but it was really refreshing while hanging around Nashville outside in August. My sister loved the Gulchie. I thought the sparkles were such a fun touch! Definitely a great spot! There are some tables inside and they have food in their pastry container, as well as items made to order.

Yelp
A cool chic coffee spot with well-priced drinks, friendly people, and a chill vibe. Got a lavender haze which was wonderful. They also had a ton of pastries which looked amazing - maybe next time. It's located in a hotel it seems but they have their own space and they have outdoor seating as well.
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Great location right in the heart of the gulch. This place is very well designed and the service is fantastic. Basic coffee stuff, pastries and some light bites. Not a bad spot to grab a quick pick me up before tackling the city.

Yelp
This is connected to The Thompson, it's a pretty small shop with coffees, teas, bottled juices, and snacks (muffins, croissants, etc). Parking is a bit difficult although there's a parking lot across the street with 1 hour free. Been here to get a matcha latte a few times, good matcha flavor, real matcha - not the sugary matcha mixed powder type. Today, I branched out and got a hot chocolate today without vanilla. Too sweet, not strong enough chocolate flavor, didn't like it very much. I've tried sips of a few coffees as well, including Queen Bee and Cuban - both really sweet and not much coffee flavor, wouldn't recommend the coffee here. Cute store, has some seats both indoor and outdoor, sometimes I see people sitting here to work, friendly employees. Matcha latte's good, don't like the coffee.
google avatar

Allyssa P.

Yelp
This coffee shop is inside the Thompson hotel. The line got really long on Sunday afternoon. But the workers were working as quick as possible. The line to order took over 10 minutes but my drink was made within 5 minutes. It's a really small coffee shop, but there are a few tables inside. It's best to just grab and go, honestly. I had a hibiscus iced tea and it was really refreshing. My cousin ordered basically a Vietnamese coffee and it woke her right up! Great place to grab a sip to start your day.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
The coffee was delicious here and the person behind the counter was very friendly and helpful as it was our first time there. I do wish they had more seating. Since this is connected to a hotel some of the seating is in the hotel lobby which was limited. We ended up taking our drinks to go to walk around The Gulch.
google avatar

Hayley L.

Yelp
Definitely recommend if you're in the Gulch area! It's sooo good and has a lot to choose from.
google avatar

Erfan Z.

Yelp
A great place attached inside a posh Hyatt hotel lobby. The coffee was amazing, and delicious. I had a caramel machiatto. The hotel lobby smells amazing. It enchants people in. The outdoor seating option is relaxing and there is shade overhead. Great for discussions and formal meetings.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop! I came in with my sister and her bestie for a cup of coffee before we went on a hike close by. Such nice staff and coffee came out quick and delicious. If I'm ever back in Franklin I'll be back! Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Jacey H.

Yelp
Their cold brew was alright. It wasn't my favorite and it was $6-$7. Cold brew is one of the easier drinks to make so idk, the latte however was delicious and worth the price. They have pretty cool signature lates too!
google avatar

Sia K.

Yelp
This place is inside a hotel. We came here to grab a coffee while we waited in line to eat somewhere else. It also had a line and looked super popular! They have a bunch of different types of coffee and snacks to choose from. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Coffee is fine. Line gets long. Blah blah. But the glitter. The fucking. Glitter. Why is there 69 shakes of delicate, pink edible glitter on the top of my coffee?? It looks like a blew a unicorn after every sip. It's all over my face. HOW. Is this baristas revenge for ordering autumn spice latte?

Grant F.

Yelp
Great coffee and atmosphere. Perfect location to downtown. Great customer service. Not much more you could ask for.
google avatar

Shaima C.

Yelp
This is such a cute little coffee shop! I ended up getting the oat milk latte, which was great! The espresso was clean, and the baristas were friendly! There's not much to eat here thou, they have a few pastries, but that's about it.
google avatar

Ariele F.

Yelp
The team at Killebrew is always so kind and a pleasure to chat with. I love the Model Behavior latte and they always remember my order. The pastries are made fresh in-house and are delicious.
google avatar

Anna G.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop, but super expensive. The butter croissant I had was absolutely to die for, but I got the gulchie vanilla latte - and it was pure sugar. I hate to say it, but probably the worst coffee I've ever had. And I love sugar. My boyfriend got a cold brew and he enjoyed his - so maybe just steer clear of the sugar drinks. And definitely order the butter croissant.
google avatar

Jeanie N.

Yelp
Enjoyed their cold brew which was surprisingly light roast than I expected. I also liked that you can sit in the adjacent hotel lobby with AC with your coffee
google avatar

Ambrose L.

Yelp
This is adjacent to my hotel so I was glad to see that. The coffee (I had a redeye) was decent. But the breakfast sandwich was pretty terrible. The bread was super stale and hard. The egg was overcooked to the point of being nearly unchewable. The only good part was the sausage. But for $12, it should all be at least edible! On the plus side, the sparrows out front enjoyed some of the stale breadcrumbs.
google avatar

Seth S.

Yelp
Killebrew has great cold brew coffee and fresh blueberry muffin, highly recommend. Nice outdoor patio
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
Never gotten a bad cup of coffee here! Located in the Thompson hotel it's an easy stop while walking through the gulch. The line here does get long but always moves quick, and everyone who works here is pleasant and helpful. I've gotten the breakfast sandwich a few times as well and the food is a good. It's a small cute spot but if you can get a table or a space to sit for a while it's a cute spot to work and hang out at for a while.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
A cute local coffee shop with a variety of options from coffee, tea, lemonade, lunch, snacks, and a few breakfast items. The employees were really helpful and accommodating to my low carb no sugar drink. It was heavenly. I will definitely be back here when visiting the area
google avatar

Hanna N.

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for local coffee shops when I'm traveling and this one was phenomenal. 10/10 service and coffee. I'm not a fan of super sugary coffee so vanilla lattes can always be hit or miss, but this one was perfect. Going to be dreaming about this place until I have a chance to come back!!
google avatar

Amber T.

Yelp
Found this coffee shop while exploring the streets of Nashville early in the morning. It's located inside the Bobby Hotel. Friendly staff! Speedy service. Clean cafe shop. The place had enough seating inside as well as outdoors as well. My order was simple but made to order and great tasting coffee!
google avatar

Isabella M.

Yelp
The coffee here is amazing! I tried the Maria latte with oat milk and 10/10 would recommend. A little on the sweeter side. The croissant was also very delicious and a good size! Not much seating inside but there is some tables outside. Cute little cafe!

Ella D.

Yelp
Quite literally the best coffee I have ever had in my entire life. The pumpkin muffin and focaccia bread changed my life and the cashier was so incredibly friendly that she made me want to buy even more!

Anahi C.

Yelp
Lavender Haze with almond milk is top tier! The staff were quick, kind and efficient. The first time ever I said my name & the baristas spelled it and said it correctly! Which was an added bonus 10/10
google avatar

April C.

Yelp
Small shop attached to the Thompson hotel. Drinks are great. Not too sweet. You can definitely taste the coffee. Service is excellent!! I'd definitely go back...as a matter of fact...I will as soon as I get through the line at biscuit love.

Yelp
Killebrew Coffee was the perfect find while walking around The Gulch in Nashville. Right next to boutiques and restaurants as well as being located within the Thompson Hotel, the coffee shop's business thrives off of people passing by in one of the busiest and up and coming areas of Nashville. Especially because of its location within a hotel, this coffee shop is an ideal stop for those staying there for coffee and small bites. Killebrew offered a wide selection of coffee, ranging from lattes to cappuccinos all with options to switch out milks or add flavoring. They also have teas, pastries and grab and go items. Bringing an eclectic and unique atmosphere that aligns with the hotel, Killebrew Coffee fits the surrounding area of The Gulch as well. The location allows for nearby residents and locals as well as tourists to grab a coffee before heading off to shop or walk around the area. My experience at Killebrew Coffee was exceptional - being in such a prime location made it easy to stop in for a quick cup of coffee as we walked by. Along with this, the coffee tasted delicious, the staff was friendly and the hotel was stunning. I would definitely recommend this stop in Nashville.

Yelp
This was one of the pop in places for me. I had seen it but it wasn't on my list of places to go. Nonetheless I was glad I stopped in. They have a good selection of teas and a pretty decent work space. I needed to get some work done in between outings and this fit the bill. I definitely was on a conference call for like 2 hours so I didn't focus on too much else. The space is tidy and on the smaller side. It's attached to a hotel with a vest carving entryway. The baristas were funny and understood that I accidentally got hopped up on Chai because I forgot it has caffeine and needed something herbal. The space itself is well decorated and I actually like how small it was. Sometimes it's nice to sit and relax in a smaller space.
google avatar

Larry H.

Yelp
Glitter coffee is the bomb! Get there early because they are busy! They have a great vibe and welcoming ambiance.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
A very cute coffee joint that's attached to the hotel next-door. The baristas were attentive and prompt. Coffee was nothing extraordinary but we enjoyed it!
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
None of the breakfast can be modified which was really unfortunate. I can't eat cheese I just wanted a breakfast sandwich with no cheese apparently it's all pre made and nothing is fresh. The chai was good. The quiche was $10! And burnt to a crisp. They also had no non dairy options for a friend who had an allergy.
google avatar

Catherine H.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop located adjacent to Thompson Hotel! The space is light, airy and modern and would be a great place to catch up with a friend or get some work done (plenty of outlets!). The staff are all so pleasant and welcoming, and one of them recommended the autumn spice latte to me - which ended up being great. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Melyn N.

Yelp
I decided to pop in while exploring the Gulch. It was rather packed and there was a long line so all the signs were pointing in the right direction. I ordered a vanilla latte. I thought it was okay. Nothing really stood out to me and I thought the coffee was too sweet for my preference. I also ordered a chocolate croissant and it was not bad either. Overall, this place has a nice ambience, trendy and intimate. It's also located in a great area but as for the coffee, it was alright.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Such an awesome coffee shop! Right in the gulch and perfect for a good drink while waiting on a breakfast/brunch table. Staff was very friendly and it was spacious inside and with tables outside.
google avatar

Claryssr B.

Yelp
Quick recap: - Coffee: Excellent - Portion size: Average - Service: At the counter; Nice - Environment: Cafe of the hotel; Nice; Hipstery modern/chic - $: Slightly expensive - Perks: None More details: We went there for a quick coffee on a Saturday, before brunch. The place is inside the Thompson hotel, although it has it separate entrance. We had an espresso ($3) and a cappuccino ($4). The quality of the beans was amazing. It tasted like in Italy. The staff was nice. Overall? Excellent coffee. Nice environment. Expensive compared to a drip coffee at a bar, but definitely worth the premium!
google avatar

Leslie A.

Yelp
Walked in here on a weekday morning and luckily it was not packed and not busy and no line I had previously walked past here on a Sunday afternoon and it was the complete opposite and turn off and I did not walk in The two employees working that morning or extremely helpful and kind as this was our first visit there and recommended the cookies which by the way are to die for they are almost like a mini cookie pans super rich super tasty and well worth every penny The coffee the pastries are pricey considering the competition of Starbucks across the street however this place is extremely unique quite local and gives you a ma and pa feeling in it's a retro decor vibe I would definitely come back here the only reason I got four stars is because the menu is quite limited in choices of actual drinks however it is abundant in choices for customizing your drink of choice
google avatar

Yelp
Killebrew is a cute little coffee shop with great aesthetic and a total Instagrammy vibe located in the oh so popular area of Nash called "The Gulch." A couple colleagues and I met here for coffee one week day morning and it was packed. The Gulch is really up and coming right now so I expected nothing less, plus it's reassuring to know so many people love the place you're about to try. While waiting in line I had the privilege of being able to observe their food and merch items. They had everything from sparkling water and chocolate milks to cute branded coffee mugs, hats, and signs. When I got to the ordering counter my once decided order had changed now that I could see all the amazing fresh pastries they make in house there. I ended up going with an iced soy latte, banana, and a blueberry muffin (see pictures for awesome presentation). I'm not a huge soy person, allergic to almonds and try to stay away from dairy for my health (so high maintenance, I know) so I always hope coffee shops have Oat, hemp or cashew milk but unfortunately this cafe didn't have those as of yet. I know it's a not the most average thing to aspire so trust me I'm not too bitter, but I would love to see this place get one of those options as they're so unique, delicious, healthy and the perfect mixture with espresso. My soy latte was pretty good though for soy milk and gave me a nice buzz that didn't overwhelm me or cause heart burn aftermath. The combo of my order items were the perfect breakfast and my only "complaint" would be that the muffin was a little crumbly and hard to eat properly at a professional meeting. I would definitely love to come back here and try more of their pastries, work inside on my laptop with the awesome aesthetic vibe, and explore more of the Gulch with all its new shops and murals. Killebrew does have wifi, I believe I saw a couple outlets in there, there's indoor and outdoor seating, multiple free timed parking lots close by, tons of murals and boutiques, and the famous Angel Wings mural by Kelsey Montague is across the street! Check this coffee shop and this entire area out, it's got good vibes.
google avatar

Sally R.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop! Was able to enjoy a delicious latte with oat milk while working on my laptop. Lots of natural light inside.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
If you're in the Gulch, you should definitely check out Killebrew. Someone recommended it to me because of the pastries which have apparently won awards. It's right by the ritzy Thompson Hotel and you can walk directly into the lobby from the cafe. You can use the bathrooms in the hotel (which are very nice) and there's free wifi as well. The tables are on the smaller side with one wall that has a long booth seat. Not a lot of seating but I've never had trouble getting a table on a weekday afternoon. The only thing is they close pretty early (5pm) so this is more of a conversation or quick snack/coffee type of cafe rather than a study/work cafe. For food and drinks: I'm not a coffee drinker but my friend says the quality of coffee is good. I have had the matcha latte and green cloud and both had strong tea flavors. I also recommend trying a pastry! The farm quiche is very good but the biscuits are just okay. The chocolate croissant is crispy/flaky and not too sweet. Recommend this place for those in the area looking for a quick bite and some good coffee.
google avatar

Marche K.

Yelp
Honestly my favorite coffee shop in the Gulch. The cold brew is so good and they have all the milk options u need. I've had their breakfast food and pastries, totally worth it! This is more of a grab and go type of coffee shop, it's pretty small and located in the lobby of the Thompson hotel. I love to come here and treat myself to a Friday coffee.
google avatar

Sherrill T.

Yelp
Delicious! Killebrew is right in the heart of the gulch attached to the Thompson Hotel. Super trendy interior and friendly baristas! For it being very crowded, they seem to have a system in place to get you your order in a timely manner. I ordered the Cuban latte which is espresso with condensed milk and it was SUPERB! Like a less sweet white chocolate mocha. For a place this fancy and based on its location, I expected to pay a hefty penny, but it was as reasonably priced as you could be considering where it's at. Also, I'm a sucker for good, simple branding and Killebrew kills it (pun intended). Every cup has their logo on it and it's scattered throughout the restaurant without overwhelming you. Overall, I loved the originality of the menu, the interior and the quality of the coffee. I'll happily give them my money numerous times over. I'll be back!
google avatar

Shirley C.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop although a little pricy. The Gulchie latte satisfied my caffeine craving even if I thought the sprinkling of glitter on top was unnecessary. However, the biscuit was the real star of the show: super buttery with a crispy exterior and crumbly (in a good way) interior. I'm curious enough to want to come back and try the cookies and other baked goods.
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop inside the Thompson Hotel. It's well decorated, but there's a not a ton of space. I got the Flat White and it was perfect to-go. They still go out of their way to do milk art with it. They have a great selection of both coffee and pastries. Wish I had time to sit down and try some!
google avatar

Noel A.

Yelp
This place is very friendly and the staff is really nice. Overall it was a great experience given that the food was super tasty and fresh. Everything looks clean and well kept. I would recommend this place to anyone if they're looking for a good breakfast or brunch experience.
