Ambiance: Classic "rustic meets modern" bbq eatery with bar area, cafeteria style ordering line, & multiple booths/tables. Perfect spot for grabbing lunch or enjoying a family meal. Fun aesthetic decor throughout, like the butcher knife door handles. There is a drive through line available. I loved the coffee bbq sauce! IMO pretty expensive ($16 for a bbq sandwich!) that said- the brisket was phenomenal and there was plenty for leftovers. Clean and fast service for lunch. Multiple people at the bar during the day - this could be a great spot to go solo and enjoy new company if you're on a lunch break or out alone. Plenty of parking onsite. I don't normally "crave" bbq, however I have been craving their brisket sandwich ever since eating here - I think Killen's is "Killen" it!

My Mom and I had been craving burnt ends so we found Killens BBQ in Cypress. This place is awesome! The employees are super nice and will answer any questions you have. My Mom and I had the pork belly burnt ends. The meat was so tender most of the pieces literally melted in my mouth. We were told all the sides were made from scratch and you can definitely tell. I had the Mac and cheese and my Mom had mashed potatoes and cream gravy. Everything was definitely hot, fresh and absolutely delicious!! The restaurant was super clean! The only thing is the food to us was a tad bit on the pricey side. We each had the meat and 2 sides for $19.95 per plate, but it definitely worth it!!

Tried this place out for the first time for a take-out lunch order and it was really fast and the food generally excellent. We loved the brisket, turkey and brussels sprouts. The cream corn and baked beans were nothing special and the portions were a little less than we expected. The only real issue was the guy asked if I wanted pickles and onions and I said yes but when I got home with the order they were not in the bag. A bit pricy indeed for what we got.

Google
The turkey was amazing and so delicious. My brother never eats Turkey and he tried it and was amazed by how good it was. The ribs were just as good. I must be honest and say I didn't care for the Mac and cheese. It didn't have flavor at all which was surprisingly shocking compared to the turkey. The service from Kimberly was perfect. Definitely will be going back here soon.

I feel that this location can be a hit or a miss when it comes to the food. I went through the drive through yesterday to order a BBQ Rib sandwich, but they did not have which was okay so I ordered a pork rib meat plate which you can choose 2 sides so I had the BBQ Baked Beans and Brussels sprouts. I also ordered for desert the bread pudding. After I pulled off from the drive through window into the parking lot to try the sides as I was anxious to taste the sides I was disappointed because the sides were not hot which leads me to believe that they were already cooked but no one decided to reheat the sides before giving me the food. I don’t feel that I should have to ask for my food to be hot if I am going to a restaurant especially ordering take out. The Brussels sprouts were not tender but a bit tough. The pork ribs were amazingly tender and delicious. The bread pudding was delicious as well. The service is always exceptional. I am not sure if I will go through the drive through again, I think I may have a better experience going inside, but because I was in a rush I went through the drive through and the fact that I was so hungry I had not eaten all day from morning and it was almost 4pm I just took the food home and reheated it. Can’t comment on the atmosphere I have never been inside only through the drive through.

If you want Killen’s BBQ, go to their Pearland store, not this one. No complaints about the restaurant and service, very nice! Food is 1 star at most, dry and lack of flavor. Yesterday decided to try the chicken instead, big mistake. The meat was bland and tasteless. Skin supposed to be ‘bbq’ but feel like piece of paper soaked with honey… Someone needs to monitor the quality of their food.

So disappointed 😞 I looked forward to this place for like a decade, moved away from Houston about 15 years ago and friends and family raved about the Pearland location and my parents who are out in Cypress made a big deal about this location opening. Finally moved back and got to give it a try. I feel like the pictures explain it all. Driest brisket I've ever seen, it was like jerky, bland like it too. Come on man. Had to drown it in sauce and pickled onions just to get any flavor. Embarrassing. Just don't have a location like this if you're gonna churn stuff out like this. Mac and cheese was also weird/bland, Brussels sprouts were ok but I would have liked them more well done, they were wet and mushy. Atmosphere was alright, employees were nice, I wasn't going to take this out on them. But man what a disappointing meal. I guess I'm on the hunt again for decent BBQ, never thought I'd be in this position after moving back home.

Google
I wish I could give 10 stars for James & Killens. If I die before I wake, I would be dying one happy, well fed girl. James should run his own Killen’s and then buy the whole chain. He has represented like a boss. I came in for just brisket, but thanks to James, I’ve had fried mac & cheese. I’ve had their brussels sprouts and now I’m eating their Tres Leche bread pudding.

Yelp
Food: After hearing rave reviews about Killen's BBQ, I fi ally gave it a try. And I have to say that I was disappointed. I think the rave reviews overrated this eatery. The brisket and mashed potatoes were too salty. The gravy for the mashed potatoes tasted chemically rather than natural. Baked beans was delicious. 4 Stars Service: Friendly and fast. 5 Stars Ambiance: Busy. 5 Stars Overall: Scoring wise, 5 Stars. But not on my top places I'd want to return for the BBQ brisket.

Yelp
I had high expectations that were not met. Service was good, but food was not worth the price, IMO.

Yelp
The moist brisket was really good and I enjoyed sampling the three different types of barbecue sauce. Surprisingly the coffee barbecue sauce was our favorite. All of them were good but the coffee barbecue sauce was the best. Friendly polite service at the restaurant. It was kind of surprising that there were not many people in the restaurant for lunch but perhaps due to the price not as many people are going.$23 for a single meat plate and iced tea was a little steep but it's good food. The atmosphere is Texan but not over the top just minorly Texan, so this really isn't a tourist location rather a place for regular people in Texas without going to over the top in decoration.

Yelp
The cream corn was especially good! They had lots of meat options, and the staff were friendly. The restaurant was clean and had a few TVs.

Yelp
After reading most of the reviews for this spot, I was a bit iffy about coming here but since I loved the Killens in Pearland I definitely wanted to give it a chance. Unfortunately this location came up short in terms of quality on the food. This is my second time here and both times it's just been above okay. The first time I ordered their pork ribs and I thought it was just okay. It didn't fall off the bone and was tough. The rub wasn't that flavorful as well. The 2nd time around I ordered their moist brisket, Mac and cheese & collard greens. The brisket was above average. The bark was good but wasn't seasoned that well. I will say that the brisket was tendered. Smoke rings were also visible. The Mac and cheese was decent, it was creamy but a little too watery for me. The collard greens were edible but had too much vinegar on it. I got to try their tangy BBQ sauce but it didn't help out the brisket because it was too vinegary and sweet for my liking. Overall, the food was about a 2.5/5 but I'll bump it to a 3 because the service was exceptional. The place was clean and had a good amount of seating. I will say that it's not as busy as the Pearland location even though we came for lunch on a Friday. Will I come back? Nah, I'll just go to Pearland.

Yelp
Stumbled into here after some time at the Cypress outlet mall. Originally sat at a table and then my waiter mentioned happy hour (in the bar area only). Needless to say, I moved on over to the bar for the good stuff! Good drinks and good food served by a great bartender! Decent prices, lots of flavor, mixed with the smokehouse ambiance! Great portion sizes as well!

Yelp
This is my first visit to Killen's at the Cypress, Texas location. I ordered a two meat meal which comes Ruth two sides. Creamed Corn was excellent and the coleslaw had its own unique taste. Three BBQ sauces are on the table and you should try each. Tangy and Coffee both are original flavors. My brisket was moist and I selected the regular sausage. Both were good with decent portions. The best thing on the menu is the banana pudding. Hands down this is made with love. The line went fast with plenty of seating. The restaurant also has a full service bar should you need a drink. Service... the dining area folks came by to make sure we had everything and to take our trays when finished. The dining area is not slammed with tables on top of tables. A good mix of both tables and booths in an open seating concept. I seem to visiting BBQ restaurants with limited parking and long lines. No issues as they have plenty of spots with a great location too. Closed on Mondays...

Yelp
This place is awesome! I have always wanted to try it in the Pearland area but now it is closer to home!!!! This is the only bbq place where my whole family enjoys eating. It is good as leftovers too. I also have to fight my cat off so he doesn't eat my food. Let's just say what I have eaten: Mac and cheese - yum!!! Potato salad - yum x 2 Broccoli casserole - yummy Brussel sprouts - yum-O Green beans - yum French Fries - NO Beef rib - yum but not the best ever Pork ribs - yum and tender Turkey - yum and my cat's favorite!!! Jalapeno sausage - yes!! Best one I've had Bbq chicken - good Nacho - good but I wish there was more on top Brisket Chili - seasonal and what I want to get when they have it Baked potato - amazing potato, wish they had more than other items than meat and a bigger potato but I want to try the potato with the chili on top!!! Lean brisket - I like this Fatty brisket - my husband band likes it I can't stand too much fat Pickles- are free and I love them! All employees are super nice and friendly. It is a good size seating area and you pick where you want to sit. Someone tell me how the onion rings are and how the burnt ends are!!

Yelp
Gave this place a try for takeout dinner. What I like: - Smoke brisket was done nicely with plenty of smoke and nice ring bark. - Jalapeño Cheese Sausage was also good. - Cream corn is super creamy and savory. What I didn't like too much: - bake potato was average. Not great. - coleslaw was non traditional. Instant noodles?? Weird! - BBQ sauce is wayyy too sweet and runny. Overall, I would eat at this place again to try their other meats. I give this place 4 for the meat and service but a 2 for everything else.

Yelp
The most rubbery fat on moist "brisket" . Honestly i was super excited to try it and it was probably one if the worst ive had:(

Yelp
I visited this restaurant late yesterday for an early dinner. Compared to other barbecue restaurants I was a bit surprised at the prices. And it was not a pleasant surprise as they were quite higher and their menu is a la carte straight across the board. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top as offered for $14. Any sides would be additional which I chose not to get. The barbecue was virtually tasteless. A friend of mine found a bottle of barbecue sauce on another table so I lathered it in that which helped. The sandwich was falling apart on the tray before I even picked it up. I will say I had cut the sandwich in half. The sandwich was a very sloppy mess in trying to eat it. I do not see me ever visiting any of their locations again.

Yelp
Peppered beef jerky, anyone!!! Let's start with my meal, skipping right past the menu... I got ribs, and sliced turkey, Mac and cheese and collard greens...if you closed your eyes while eating the meat, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart, they have the same peppered coating uggg, the ribs were not tender at all, the turkey was salty, next the greens Ugg , think there was bacon bits or some type of meat all through it Ugg also wayyyy to vinegary, Mac and cheese Ugg way too cheesy and not flavorful...dessert I got bread pudding, uggg tasted like a mushy honey bun with extra glaze...the root beer was good! Not a fan , o yea overpriced as hell!!!!

Yelp
Customer service gets a F! The refusal to take an order over the phone for an "off-the-menu" special is frustrating as it is NOT on the internet page as a selection you can order. I was told "you need to come in to order because we won't do phone orders". Fortunately, there are many other Bbq joints around town who don't mind taking orders over the phone.

Requel P.

Yelp
Very average at best. Mind you I only had 1 meat so maybe something else was better. I went on a Tuesday afternoon around 1pm. There was no host at the stand so we walked inside to a sign that basically instructed us to sit in the bar area for full service or go up to the food line and place your order. I opted for the 1 meat & 2 sides. I got the brisket, mac & cheese, & brussel sprouts. The mac & cheese was very cheesy so I appreciated that because I didn't have to add any salt & pepper. But I did have to add some to my brussel sprouts. It just wasn't tasty to me. Nor were the briskets. I tried them with the sauce but they weren't able to save it. I just took the rest home to add my bbq sauce with it.

Belen W.

Yelp
The food was wonderful and our waitress was energetic and charming. Would definitely go back for the mouth-watering brisket!

Deborah A.

Yelp
We finally visited Killen's tonight for dinner. We order a brisket and sausage plate with a couple sides and brisket salad. Everything was soooo delicious. The brisket was tender and moist and the sausage was very taste and not too salty. The brisket salad was the bomb! I'm glad I ordered it. Eddy, our server was very attentive and awesome! Great ambiance too. We will definitely go back.

Holly N.

Yelp
I've been wanting Killens to open up north for the longest time and they have finally delivered! BBQ has been a bit pricey lately but certainly worth it because the portion is filling. All the sides were good yummy! My favorite side would be the broccoli cheddar casserole. I like Rudy's potato salad better. The brisket was a little on the dry side. I think Rudy's brisket still beats everywhere. The BBQ sauces here were definitely different than any other BBQ joint. I like the coffee BBQ sauce the most. Service was okay. I felt like they could've been a little more pleasant. The lady at the cash register was a little rude. However, it wouldn't stop me from coming back! Bread pudding was goooood but boy it was sweet. The place was fairly clean!

Yelp
Came in to try this place and have passed it a few times, so we decided to dine in, it's around 5:30pm on a Saturday and it's not overly busy, service was quick from being seated to having our order taken, it's a very nice place full of tv and sports playing in the background, the country music is not to loud it's just right..... I had the cheese sausage and the brisket and the beef rib 11/4lbs, I also had the mac and cheese which comes with some corn bread crumbs.... And we also had the smoked cheese burger which was so delicious and really juicy, there not a choice in the way it's cooked since it is smoked but it's full of flavor and smokiness and lots of cheese, it's one of the best burgers I have ever had.... The fries were okay slightly on the softer side not crisp but they were okay.... Now to my plate the brisket has a nice bark/ smoke ring and the taste was on point I was hoping it would be a little juicier but we don't live in a perfect world but as far as texture and taste it was on point, the sausage is so so good, its smoked I wouldn't mind if it was placed over the coals but it was really good, and now to the main star of the course the beef rib, it was delicious and moist and fatty, had an amazing bark. The flavor was great tried all the bbq sauces and the best in my opinion was the tangy sauce! For those who don't know real bbq restaurants have a slightly runnier sauce that's not based on a bunch of molasses and sugars.... The condiments (jalapeños,onions and pickles were really good crunchy and fresh).... It was of food we didn't finish it but we can try later

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally got a chance to. It definitely stood up to the good things that I was hearing about. I got a 3- meat plate with brisket , sausage, and ribs! The brisket was very very tender and the ribs were looking so delicious that I couldn't wait to sink my teeth in them! The sausage was great as well! The Mac and cheese was the creamiest ever and perfectly made. I also had the greens that were seasoned just right! It was a little bit warm inside the establishment and the flies were a nuisance!. I will visit them many more times, but I'll probably get my food togo.

Yelp
Last month I dined here for lunch on a Friday with friends for the first time. The building was originally a Sherlock's Pub years ago and it currently has one large indoor dining room with a full bar and is counter service. Outside they still have the nice outside partly covered patio but it was not being used at the time of my visit. After about a 5 minute wait in line it was my turn to order and I went with the the half barbecue chicken plate with two sides for $15. My side dish choices were baked beans and potato salad and with a soft drink and tax cost a little over $19. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Immediately I noticed the chicken resembled backyard grilled chicken on a charcoal fire with sear marks and not the typical smoked chicken served in most bbq restaurants. Taste wise it reminded me again of homemade bbq grilled chicken and was very good and enjoyable. The beans had brisket meat in the contents with a sweet taste and the potato salad was mustard based but not tart in a creamy texture. Both sides were acceptable taste wise however I have had better. Overall, it was a good meal but I might order two different side dishes if I return. So why do I only give a 3 score? The chicken was better than the side dishes and the meal was towards the upper end price wise of what I would want to pay for it. I realize that all food prices have increased dramatically over the past couple of years but my biggest complaint is the menu price for their side dishes a la carte are.....$6 each! The serving sizes on my plate are the same size for a la carte ordering and for $6 that's not much food, I.e. a scoop of potato salad or a few spoonfuls of beans. Killen's represents a big name in the area for bbq but I think they are a little overrated and overpriced. The food is acceptable and sometimes a little better but also too expensive. Those side dishes ordered separately should be $4 each not $6.

Yelp
Killen's Barbecue On our second visit, we decided to eat inside. Clean, well lit, with a spacious seating area. Ordered the one meat plate, moist brisket, as they were finishing up the next batch of chicken. The brisket was good, not marbled a lot. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, topped with breadcrumbs. The broccoli and cheese casserole had mushrooms, giving it a earthy flavor. The Boy got turkey and a fresh side of fries. We grabbed a seat, going to get drinks/condiments first. I was a little disappointed as when I started eating as my food had cooled off so much it made me wonder if their serving line was hot enough. The first time visiting, we ordered Togo. Apparently I was tired, as I over looked the "pork belly" part of the burnt ends description. I also asked for all sauce on the side. You can imagine my disappointment when I discovered, not only did they have sauce on them (not bbq but what seemed like sesame), they were also not traditional (beef) burnt ends. Ah, well, they do have delicious pickled onions and an awesome Miniboss craft beer on tap. Thanks for the recommendation, Matthew!

Yelp
From the first moment I heard of Killen's BBQ my tongue has been on standby to taste this popular stand in line for hours restaurant that sells out by the end of the day. Killen's reputation of the best BBQ in Houston and some even say Texas, has also grown it to be popular for long lines and free beer as you wait. However just like the popular saying that "all things are big in Texas," so is the exaggeration. I'm happy to say that after years of waiting to get a shot at having this BBQ without waiting (I don't wait or stand in long lines for any food) I finally was able to try this BBQ due to the new closer location in Cypress and weekday hours whilst everyone else is at work downtown. I'm sorry to report that the reputation is indeed hugely an exaggeration. For me, BBQ falls in this order. 1. Absolute Best = No sauce required. Ever! 2. Best = No sauce. Some basting may be added. 3. Good = Some sauce required. 4. Average = MUST have sauce! Buffet quality. 5. Below Average = Can't cook it yourself so must eat this hence it's good. 6. Poor = Must drag tongue across street after consumption. As a native Arkansan, I've struggled to find good BBQ in Texas so I make my own including sauce from scratch. I search for places because sometimes you just want to eat BBQ without any effort and enjoy some others efforts. I knew from all the hype that Killen's may have been my alternative. Sigh. So sorry to report I have to rate it from my list above as a 4. Which is just the average BBQ in Houston. So average I've had the same at any American style buffet like Golden C... The meat is tender but it lacks full wood flavor and seasoning. It also lacks being fully cook. So any chicken you buy is still slightly pink at the bone. The sausages are good but lacks more flavor and needs to be cooked about an hour longer. The ribs are very tender, needs to have the membrane removed from that inner bone and smoked a little bit longer so that pork bone isn't so pink. That's cool with beef but not pork. Brisket is absolutely delicious. It's the savior of the stars. However it only saves it one star. Its tender but it still NEEDS sauce. Overall, I'm happy I never stood in line for this BBQ. The predecessors of this ole building actually had better Q; they just lacked the name and service that's going to actually keep this place afloat. I have no reason to return unless when they do fully open that they also sell crawfish because I love the outside patio to sit, chill and enjoy a few bugs and brew. Stay saucy and Prosper!

Esther C.

Yelp
Very excited to have a Killen's in Cypress! I was a little worried about the reviews, but I'm glad we went and tried it for ourselves. We went on a Sunday around 11:30am. There was already a line to the door. It was a steady, slow going line. We ordered moist brisket, sausage, side of mac and cheese, side of potato salad, and fries. -Brisket was good and so tender.Flavor was good as well. There was definitely a lot of fat on some pieces. I may try the leaner brisket next time to see how it compares. - Sausage was $5 a link. When I ate it right away it was good. Only thing I noticed was once it cooled down it was a little dry and chewy. You must eat it while it is still hot or warm to enjoy it. - Mac and Cheese- it was my favorite side. They cook the noodles al dente so it doesn't turn to a mushy boated mess. My daughter liked it a lot and she is a picky eater. - Fries- For $6, I wish it was a bigger portion. The small little tray wasn't even full. They are hand cut potatoes and are crispy, but just seemed expensive for the amount. - Potato salad- I mean, it was ok. Nothing super special and nothing super dissatisfying. We tried all 3 sauces (tangy, sweet, and coffee) and I could find something I liked in each. BBQ is generally pricey, but Killen's is up there. Don't be surprised when you pay for your order. We will be back. I'm glad they are in the neighborhood.

Doug C.

Yelp
I got a combination platter of which consist of one fatty rib and maybe 3/4 a pound of slice extremely fatty brisket I was not impressed I've had way better. The potato salad was excellent the beans were good I paid $25. I will go to other barbecue places.

An P.

Yelp
We love the location in Pearland so super happy they opened one in Cypress. Disappointed. We ordered like over $200 of BBQ and they only gave us 4 pieces of bread. The green beans were literally a salt lick. Completely too much salt and inedible. The collard greens were not as salty but still too much salt. The only thing we liked was the creamed corn. The brisket was decent but not on par as the Pearland location. Will not go again.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
I would have given 5, but I don't think the value for the price is reasonable. That said, this was some good food! The bbq turkey may be the star of the show! I got a meat plate with lean brisket and added turkey. The beef had a perfect smoke ring and a beautiful bark. Everything about it was excellent, but it was a tad dry. I got three thick slices of beef on my meat plate, which is a bit skimpy for a $16 single meat plate. Adding turkey got one thick slice of meat - REALLY skimpy BUT the turkey was damn good! The star of the show was the carrot cake - definitely was so damn good and a great value.

Glenn H.

Yelp
Good small servings of bbq at ridiculous prices! I spent $27 and was given 2 1/2 slivers of brisket. When I asked what's this?' The man said hey I measured it. I did too and found it lacking. If you have a lot of money go for it. I go to Rudy's now. Great bbq and good prices

Calvin D.

Yelp
In my experience, killens is prob my favorite bbq spot in Houston's. They're priced decently similar to every other bbq spot that's out there. I love everything about this place. Meat is filled with flavor and sides are amazing. I do like their desserts as well. They have combo + side dishes they offer and it's very easy to order here. Will definitely come back

Adrian S.

Yelp
When Killen's first open in Pearland, I believe it was the go to spot for BBQ in the Houston area. Once the brand started getting bigger and more restaurants opened up, I felt like the quality of their BBQ started to go down. This is my firs time eating at the Cypress location and I feel like the cooks at this place are starting to bring their name back up. Staff was super friendly and nice. I brought my brother from Chicago here and he was amazed! Surprisingly, their turkey was moist. The brisket was ok, we ordered moist, but felt really lean. YOU HAVE to get their cream corn!

Lester L.

Yelp
Food is okay. I've dined at the one on Pearland and thought it was 10x's better. I ordered the trinity of BBQ brisket, sausage, ribs. The meats where smoked as week as they could be I guess. However, nothing stood out The coleslaw was lacking, so I guess the highlight of the meal was the Pinto beans. But, maybe I caught it on a bad. I couldn't really decipher what made the three sauces they all tasted pretty much the same. I enjoyed coffee and sweet the best. The service was good a busser goes around and clears the empty plates. The atmosphere is actually very pleasant, plenty of seating and bar service.

Melissa H.

Yelp
I don't know if I ordered incorrectly or they robbed me of a full order. But I thought I ordered a pound of burnt ends, to-go, through Favor. It was like $20 or $25 for a pound of burnt ends. I think they robbed me. I don't think I'll order to go from there again. They were delicious but the cost is obscene. The cheese broccoli casserole was delicious. The beans were average. My kid and I loved the ribs. I loved the sausage but it has a kick so don't get those if you don't like spicy sausage. I asked for extra bread and instead they didn't give me ANY bread. Never again!!! I might go back to try their desserts. Haven't had any from them. But that's about it.

Yelp
A third expansion of the OG Killens in Pearland. I'm very happy to see them make it to the NW side of Houston because I rarely go towards Pearland so I haven't tried them yet. Anyway, they didn't disappoint. Service, location, drive thru, and good BBQ all says, I'll be back..

Yelp
I saw a "What to eat in Houston" video on YouTube last week - the 'star' of which was from LA on her first trip to Texas - and one of the many places she went was Killen's on Heights Blvd. She went there specifically to get a croissant bread pudding, topped with peaches and served in a tiny AllClad casserole. Her positive reaction was so strong and the presentation looked so good, I thought it'd be a nice dessert. Heights Blvd is 25 miles from my house, so i thought I'd call Killens on NW Fwy and ask if they had the same dessert. They said "it's the same, but we don't put peaches on ours", so we stopped and what we got was some goop served in Styrofoam by a large ice cream scoop, covered in a white drizzle - poured from a ketchup bottle - and eaten with a plastic spoon. Very underwhelming, but if the flavor had of been there, it wouldn't matter. Imagine eating cobbler made with only syrup and flour and no fruit and you'd have an idea how goopy and syrupy and sweet this was. I highly recommend against ordering this. It's a fail on taste, flavor, and presentation. I didn't order anything else, and it smells great inside, so i can't comment on the entrees.

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to pop in. I've always heard good things about Killen's and can say they did not disappoint. Entrees: Hubby got the 3 meat plate with double brisket and ribs and double broccoli rice casserole. I got the 1 meat plate with brisket and creamed corn & collard greens as my 2 sides. Brisket was fatty, juicy and just delicious! Hubby was happy with his ribs too. Portions decent, I had to take home my leftovers. Creamed corn was my favorite side -the collard greens were a tad bit salty and the stems weren't cut off the leaves so some bites weren't soft as collard greens should be. I tried a bite of my husband's broccoli rice and it was yummy. Favorite bbq sauce was the sweet one. Liked the additional add on's bar: there were jalapenos, pickled red onions and pickles. Clean interior and nice staff. Would recommend and would return.

Yelp
Kileens barbecue- I'd heard so many great things from Pearland about this spot so finally seeing one moved to cypress was a great addition. Overall, it's give this place an A. They have good food, great service and a nice variety menu to please the hearts of every patron that visits. I wish they had children meal options, but I understand that's not Standard at a barbecue joint. It would however be a nice addition, as it's a tad difficult to serve a 2 year old a full plate but adding on individual sides, can get costly... They have your traditional meat plates but they also have specials for the day/ week, which includes items such as: brisket nachos (which were so...... good!), brisket Tacos, and brisket enchiladas. Yum! Their sides are great! Some include: green beans, man n cheese, broccoli and cheese casserole(is just ok) and Brussel sprouts (really good!). But don't leave without dessert! That's a must! They have amazing options and when your can't decide on one, get two ! I can't say enough how satisfying their desserts are. Love a good drink? Full service bar at the spot as well! Stop by and never be the same again

Yelp
Ordered food for our 1year birthday event at our home. Food was great. Only the brisket was on the dry side which can happen during transport or pre prep. Thank you for the food and guests were pleased.

Yelp
The food was great unfortunately they ran out of the large beef ribs! I e all ordered the beef plate. The cheesy broccoli rice was great, so where the mashed potatoes, the gravy does have pork! My collard greens were also yummy. Nick was fantastic service with a smile and very helpful. Thanks Nick until next time!!!

Yelp
46 bucks for a loaded meat potato and a two meat plate with water. Ouch. Why is the only bbq sauce cold bottles on the table? Who wants to put COLD bbq sauce on their food? Yuck. I love touching the same bottle every other human has touched while I'm eating my food, negates washing hands before we eat. Food is decent but this isn't worth dropping 46 bucks for two people for lunch.

Yelp
Finally decided to give Killen's in Cypress a try because...why not? The line inside was very short, so that was nice. My husband and I each ordered 2-meat plates. I ordered the brisket and turkey with the broccoli & cheese rice casserole and brussel sprouts. My husband ordered the brisket and sausage with creamed corn and potato salad for his sides. My brisket and turkey weren't too shabby. And I thoroughly enjoyed the cheesy broccoli rice! I did not care for the squishy brussel sprouts, however. My husband said the brisket was too fatty for him and the sausage was a bit bland. He mildly liked the potato salad and really disliked the creamed corn. We paid $60 for that? Totally not worth it. I'd rather drive to Corkscrew BBQ in Spring.

Yelp
Service was great. We ordered a pound of sausage and pound of moist brisket and half a pound of burnt pork belly ends, macaroni and cheese, Brussel sprouts and collard greens. Our favorite was the burnt ends . The bread was stale and the sausage was dry. The brisket good. Their 3 bbq sauce flavors had a strong vinegar taste so we weren't impressed with those at all. Our friend ordered wings which he said were great. I'd come back to try those. Our other friend ordered Turkey and broccoli cheese casserole which she too said was great. The ambiance was typical of a BBQ spot.

Yelp
A very underwhelming experience at this location of a name that is synonymous with great BBQ. Ordered food for take out and only 1 out of six orders were correct. Every order was missing something or had an incorrect item. As for the food itself...not good at all. The brisket was dry. The ribs were also dry and small. Can't rate the jalapeño sausage because no one that ordered it got it. The mac and cheese was pretty good, but I'm not choosing a bbq restaurant based on its sides. This location definitely does not live up to the Killen's name and reputation. They better make some changes otherwise people are going to start associating subpar bbq with Killen's.

Yelp
I see why they're at the 3.5 starts tbh . We ordered them on Uber eats . We got two two meat plates one with turkey and brisket w potato salad & the other with pork ribs & brisket creamer corn & greens . We also ordered three sweet teas and a bread pudding . Along with a few extra sauces we had to pay for and two buns . Buns were delicious love me some toasted butter bread .

Yelp
Amazing. Hands down the best and most consistent bbq in Cypress. Gone are the days we have to drive to Lockhart or remote parts of Texas for quality brisket when it is now found in our backyard. Good smoke ring on the meats, and brisket pulls apart easy. No sauce needed to enjoy the flavor of the brisket. If you do like sauce, they have 3 options; sweet, tangy, and coffee. They also have their own pickled onions and pickles. The beef rib was amazing. My brother and I got this on another visit and shared it and still didn't finish it. The sides are good but I'm going for the bbq. Queso was good, the added brisket elevates it. They also have friend mac and cheese balls that are great. The bread pudding is amazing. I can not say enough how this is one of my favorite things there. Their prices are in line with all the top bbq joints. If you enjoy spring creek this may not be the place for you.

Yelp
Place was nice aesthetically as it was just opened January 2023. I'm a TX BBQ Top 50 aficionado, and I live 3 hrs away, & looked forward to trying this BBQ. It's too far to go to the Pearland location for me today. THEY DIDN'T have the BBQ Passport stamp!!! Not only that, the employees had no clue what it was or about the Texas Monthly Top 50 designation. I left without trying the food for that very reason. However the workers were kind & apologetic. Have to switch this to higher stars hopefully whenever I return to Houston & am able to try it. Get it together Killen's!

Yelp
I was extremely disappointed when I purchased the beef rib by the pound. I was expecting a whole rack of ribs for the price of $40 per pound. When I got my food and opened the container I had one rib inside. No where on the menu does it state you only receive one rib worth one pound. This was beyond over priced and extremely disappointing. Needless to say we will never be back.

Yelp
Best BBQ I've had in a long time . The service was fast and friendly . The food was amazing . They had plenty of side dishes . The Brussels Sprouts and Collard Greens were my favorite . Portions were very large and the pickled food was good too . Pricing was decent and what you would expect from a BBQ joint . The meat selection was savory and juicy , definitely will come back .
