There's a lot to love about Kills Boro, and a few things that definitely left me scratching my head.
First off, the beer is absolutely the highlight here. As a brewery, the selection is top-notch, and more importantly the beer prices are actually reasonable. That's refreshing, especially for a place putting out this kind of quality. The bartenders deserve a serious shoutout too friendly, attentive, and they really know their stuff. A+ service all around.
Now for the other side of the coin...
The cocktail pricing is outrageous. $19 for a drink? That's higher than many spots I've been to in Manhattan. I was genuinely surprised I expected a premium, but not that premium. At least bring it down to the $15 range if you want it to feel fair.
The food is a mixed bag or rather, the pricing is. The pizza? Delicious. Great crust, quality ingredients, made by clearly talented chefs. But $30 for a pie, and $8 extra for anchovies? That's wild. I get it's gourmet, but even high-end spots in the city don't go that far.
Overall, there's a lot done right here the beer, the vibe, the staff, and the food quality but the value doesn't always add up. I'll definitely be coming back, but strictly for the beer.
