Cool vibes - the ambiance is worth checking it out. However, $22 for the saddest mac n cheese felt diabolical. It's definitely higher prices for decent quality.

Bartender was really awesome. It was a very quiet night and I had asked if the bartender would put in an umbrella in my husband's cocktail And he much obliged and giggled with me thank you 😁

I had never heard of this place but met up with a few friends who lived close by for some drinks. We had a pretty poor experience and don’t think we’ll be coming back. The people working and the service was fine, except the lady that was taking our order didn’t really seem to know what was going on so maybe she was new. They were out of the first 3 beers we tried ordering so not a good start. Beer was good, nothing special. A little bit later we wanted to order some food. I guess they were changing up their menu so the menu I tried to order off of apparently wasn’t what they were serving anymore. When I finally got a correct menu, it was very basic but I ordered some sliders and bacon mac and cheese. The sliders were microwaved White Castle burgers served on a paper plate that were still cold in the middle and the mac and cheese was extremely hot but clearly microwaved as well. The previous menu was Hawaiian food which sounded much better so not sure why they changed for the frozen food I could have bought at the store. The place seemed more like a bar than a brewery and wasn’t worth my time or money. Would rather go to a number of the other establishments that are close by.

Love the original, and this is also a great stop. The bartender was incredibly kind and let me sample several beers, which made it easy to find the right brew. That kind of hospitality matters, tasting before committing should be the norm at breweries, and it really elevates the experience.

Had a great time here. The vibe is definitely a selling point….lots of neon, lots of lights, great music! Location can’t be best, on the main drag of Oceanside near the Seabird Resort and plenty of restaurants. Monday they have a $8.50 pitched deal which is a steal…would highly recommend the Pineapple Coconut Blonde. Bartender was awesome and gave some samples to make sure the beers landed where they should. Happy to cross this one off the bucket list and would recommend for any beer lover, there is also a speakeasy upstairs!

Had a reservation for the Space pad bar in the back of kilowatt so I decided to kill an hour in there and have a beer. Inside space is totally cool. There are games to play and some view to the outside. THE MUSIC WAS SO INSANELY LOUD THOUGH. Like couldn’t hear myself think. Like at the club loud. If I had brought friends, we wouldn’t have been able to talk. Has the coconut beer which was really tasty. Order mozzarella sticks, they took forever which was weird since there was only one other person in there. They were not great. But the beer was legit and the space is nice. I’d go here again of the music was turned down to a more chill level.

Kilowatt Brewing in Oceanside was the perfect spot for a night out while we were camping nearby! We stopped in before our reservation at a local speakeasy and enjoyed trying some of their beers and sours at the bar. The selection was impressive, and the flavors did not disappoint. The vibes were relaxed and inviting, and the staff was super friendly, making it a great experience overall. We can’t wait to come back soon and try more of what they have on tap!

This brewery has great curb appeal, but I found that, that is all that it had. The beers that we had were decent, but nothing special. Half of the brewery was a speak easy and was closed until the night, so that was a bit disappointing. What initially peaked our interest was the decor and vibe, so we got excited to play a bunch of retro games but every single one we played was missing pieces or had some defect, so the trip was a bit of a let down.

I love Kilowatt Brewing. The vibes are always chill, the music is great, the decor is psychedelic, and the beer is refreshing - any time of year. From Brewdoodle events, to speakeasies, to killer hot dogs in the kitchen, this place has something for everyone (21+). Check 'em out for good vibes and good beer!

Kilowatt Brewing is an awesome brewery in Oceanside. It gets busy and for good reason. Firstly, the staff is amazing - they are friendly and always working non -stop with a great attitude. When I asked how to play a certain board game Kilowatt invented, the staff kindly explained. Secondly, the beer selection was interesting. I tried the pickle beer sour, brewed with herbs found in dill pickles, and it tasted like pickle brine but better. It's the most memorable drink I've had thus far. Thirdly, the interior is filled with neon lights, pinball machines, board games, and more. In the back, there's a speakeasy. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Kilowatt. There was plenty to do and I'd definitely stop by again whenever I'm back in the area.

My partner was down in O side for work and we decided to give this place a try. The place is visually cool. Totally grabs your attention from outside. We came in and took a look at the menu, they have food, beer, cocktails and non alcoholic mocktails. There are cool pinball machines, lots of games on the tables to play, live music at least when we were there and there's an awesome speak easy in this place. The decor is very unique, definitely would come back here, it's cool, laid back and fun. What else would you want.

Food and games, it is a fun place to spend time with friends, eating snacks, drinking a beer, playing together.

Kilowatt Oceanside is colorful, fun and has plenty of yummy drinks, just like the OB location. While this locatuon is much smaller and lacks the funky blacklight art of OB, it does have a speakeasy inside which is a plus! Enjoyed some good brews and alky slushies early evening. Unfortunately the cook supposedly was a no show so no chance to try any bites but service was friendly and the vibe was chill.

This place is cool. It's streetside so you can just pop in. I found metered parking along South Coast Highway. I didn't see that they had their own lot. They are not beach front, but they are only a quarter-mile or so to the beach. Their bar has an open face to the street so you can sit inside facing outward and enjoy the Mission Ave. ambiance. They also have a number of tables inside. There are a few small, carnival style games inside, so that's fun. I had their 6.2% chocolate stout, which was good. We came here expecting a solid experience--chose it over a few other breweries in the area, thinking it would be a standout. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The beers on tap were okay--nothing terrible, but pretty basic and forgettable. What really brought the experience down was the service. Despite it being pretty dead for a Friday afternoon, the bartender was nowhere to be found for long stretches. At times, the entire place felt completely unstaffed. Upon arrival, we also saw that they offered two exciting specials: 1. Happy hour on food starting at 4:30pm 2. Their space-themed speakeasy that opens at 5pm By 4:30, we were starving and tried to order food--only to be told the chef hadn't arrived yet. That killed the vibe entirely. After waiting around with little to no service and nothing to eat, we ended up leaving before the speakeasy even opened. They do have arcade and table games, which could have been a fun bonus, but most of them were pretty worn down and a bit dirty. Overall, this place has potential, but the poor service and lack of readiness really made it a letdown. Wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

The place is wicked. The decorations are really fun. There's a speakeasy in the back. And although I didn't have a drink there, I stopped by to check it out and it looked cool. I played some pinball and it reminded me that I suck at it lol. But at $1 a play it's honestly not bad. And I got a free game from the Jurassic park machine. I only got one beer since I was waiting for a restaurant so I couldn't stay long. But id totally come back.

Beer is ok but expensive. Pinball machines are rigged. Bar tender did not fill my over priced beer cup to the top. Thanks

4.5 stars I haven't been to this brewery in a while. But we had a hour wait for our dinner reservations and we decided to grab a quick drink to pass the time. I had a good time. The beer was good. I had a coconut pineapple blonde and a Mexican lager. I enjoyed both beers. My daughter had a pineapple sour. I'm not really into sours. But she loved it. The atmosphere was nice and Chill. The music was good. We played some games. I will be back to this brewery.

This place is disappointing. The vibe seems cool- there are pinball machines, a few games, super colorful lights, but the atmosphere is lacking. It's always empty in there. The drinks are not good. I don't like a single beer they have except for the seltzer or if I have to, the overly sugary frozen drinks. They recently started selling liquor and now it's more expensive for basic quality cocktails. It has the potential to be a cool place but it's so meh. I will probably not come again.

Good atmosphere and they now have hard alcohol as well as beer, so mixed drinks are available. It's usually less crowded than other places downtown, which is a plus. They also have some pinball machines now. Recommended. Check out the attached speakeasy.

Very unique tasting room that we happened upon, I couldn't help myself and went in for a quick taste. The beertender was super friendly, the music was reminiscent of my high school days and the beer, incredible. I had the Christmas ale, it reminded me of Phoestivus, a seasonal beer in Phoenix AZ.

Whenever I find myself in Oceanside, Kilowatt Brewery is my go-to place. I always make sure to order the coconut pineapple blonde - the flavors of coconut and pineapple are so distinct, they hit your taste buds right at the top of your tongue. With a variety of beer options to choose from, there's something for everyone. The large open windows to view the palm trees, excited crowds outside and plenty of natural light, creating a cheerful atmosphere where everyone seems to be in good spirits. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home.

This place is so cute, definitely is aesthetically pleasing but the service here is really bad. The woman behind the bar didn't greet us and was on her phone, when we interrupted her important text conversation she gave us a weird stare and attitude. This place needs more of a bigger personality when it comes to serving. I think if the staff changed this would be a 10/10!

Desiree was amazing!!!!!! She was so attentive and even gave me options on the beers on tap. It was a nice atmosphere with good music. Parking is of course street parking but there was plenty. If you come on Thursday there's a farmers market so it might be a little tough to find parking. This location is bigger than the others. But with more variety of beers on tap. Love the vibe.

For the speakeasy bar inside Kilowatt: Space Pad It's a very weird theme. I think it goes in like a Chuck E Cheese for adults waiting or needing a place for drink and take a break from their kids. The drinks were okay and didn't impress us. I ordered an old fashion and it was decent. It wasn't anything special. My friend ordered the smokey old fashioned and she said it didn't taste like smoke but like burnt. Like drinking an ashy drink. Our cocktails were very average at most.

Stopped in here for a quick nightcap and I have to say, Andrew the bartender was so helpful and pleasant. We had an adventurous night and were so grateful to see the cleanest restrooms in O-Side. 10/10 on drinks and service!

Review is for the Space Pad speakeasy inside Kilowatt. One of the things I missed the most during covid were speakeasy bars. I mean, it would have been fitting during lockdown for those who didn't care about spreading covid, but I was definitely not trying to get covid. Now that things are getting back to normal *knock on wood*, I was excited to check out a new speakeasy in town. Reservations for Space Pad were easily made online. We walked through unmarked mirror doors to find a small bar with out of this world decor. It was pretty on point with the Kilowatt theme of bright colored lights and games. It felt like a child's bedroom. I ordered a smoked old fashioned that was exciting at first. It came with a spaceship smoker. I love smoky drinks, but unfortunately this one was more burnt than smoky. Overall, meh. It just wasn't really my vibe. Extra star though for the nice bartender and bringing speakeasies back!

Looks can be deceiving. I've passed by Kilowatt multiple times but was never drawn to it. I wasn't really sure what kind of place it was, however, the neon lights got me curious. Upon entering, I noticed a few games like Jumbo Jenga and Jumbo Uno card game. The environment was relaxing. The beer selection interesting. I tried the Pineapple Coconut Blonde (4.8% ABV). GREAT recommendation! The beer was light and flavorful, but not overwhelming! Next review will be on the Maple Smoked Maibick (7.0% ABV)

Not bad for drinks if you want to bring someone from out of town. But I was very DISAPPOINTED when an "Extra Charge + $10" was added without my knowledge. I paid a 20% tip so why do this? Is this legal?

The bright neon lights brought us into this brewery. It wasn't busy whatsoever on a Monday night. We were the only ones there. Great game options to play while you try their beers.

Thank you for the awesome customer service Gabby!! My friend left his wallet behind, and she kept it safe for him until we returned. She also explained the unique games and rules to us, along with the recommendations of delicious beers. Great spot to hangout with friends and grab a good ol' beer!

Happy to see this place in the neighborhood. So many beers on tap ranging from lagers, blondes, pale ales, sours, IPAs, stouts, etc your sure to find something you like here. I ordered the sour blue raspberry slushie which was really flavorful but not too tart or sweet. It was just right to my liking, surprisingly it was 9.5% ABV . All there slushees are. I'm more of a sour beer kindof person but wanted a splash of their Guava 250 kWh ipa it was really juicy & straightforward as claimed. Highly recommend. I was excited to see hot dogs, sausage, and other food options at the bar something to try next time as we already ate. Of course I love all the lights, decor, can't forget about the games. Definitely a chill and trendy place. Check this place out you won't be disappointed.

Kilowatt is... interesting, to say the least. It's geared towards, or should be, the 20 something's with a penchant for microbrews, a club like level of music, and some interesting games mixed with normal board games. Good concept, but could work on execution. It's weird. The vibe is weird, and not necessarily in a cool way. It was confusing. It's trying to be for the 20 year olds but there were a bunch of us "old" people in there, either pretending to be cool or trying to have fun--and it was entirely too loud. So, I guess I'd say this place is in an identity crisis. Either completely cater to the younger crowd, or cater to the older crowd. But last night, on a Saturday evening--there was no way they hit their sales mark for profitability. I'd be shocked if they did. The beer was good, the staff was "meh". I'm sure if they turned the music down, the interaction with the staff wouldn't have come across nearly as off-putting. I think most passerby's keep walking because of the confusing ambiance/image they have going. If they could re-imagine the space... maybe change the seating layout to facilitate more individual group seating, versus communal. And having the tables run east to west (smaller tables). But again, that's a cost. Maybe turn the music down just 10-15%. Allow for table ordering? This place seems like the sort of joint that would have that cool tech-y hipster capabilities. The beer isn't good enough to keep me coming back to a weird ambiance. I can find beer literally anywhere in O'side--and good beer. So, AMBIANCE IS EVERYTHING HERE. Sorry folks.

This is a cool place to visit. We were early for our reso to their speakeasy and had a drink at the bar . I've been wanting to check it out. The bartender was so helpful and kind. It seems like he was rocking out to some VERY heavy metal but changed it to Xmas music and we didn't even have ask which was nice. We didn't know we couldn't bring out drinks into the speakeasy which was a waste and bummer. Another bummer, there don't seem to be any other options other than beer. Of course, it's a brewery so beer is expected. It's nice to have a small option of wine or hard kambohca!

The beer selection is so-so. Honestly at this point I'm pretty tired of IPAs and similar to many other breweries, Kilowatt has a very IPA heavy selection (at least this was the case the few times I went). The beer they do have isn't bad, nothing to write home about though. The staff is somewhat iffy, it's pretty clear by the way they act and interact (or don't interact) with customers that they're paid by the hour. Maybe I'll stop here again for a quick beer while I'm walking around Oceanside, but I'm not going to hang out here for any extended amount of time.

Came here for the first time for a vegan donut (Doughside Donuts) and beer pairing. The combinations were surprisingly good. I brought my two year old and she enjoyed sharing the donuts. They had some tasty beers. The mango IPA, was pretty tasty! I've been to their location in San Diego a while back but this location, although smaller, was pretty unique. They had lots of games for people to entertain themselves. I think the location is perfect too- located in downtown Oceanside, near the pier and across from the Regal movie theatre.

The beers were super cool and unique but I feel like they would benefit from having more of an inviting outdoor space. Mt friend and I went in on a Saturday afternoon and it was almost empty. We couldn't figure out why. They had fun games and cool beers but no vibes?

My friend and I came here while on a girls weekend in Oceanside last July. We loved it. Super fun vibe. They have communal games and board games. And the beer was so yummy. And they have slushies! Would definitely come back if in the area again!

I've been to Kilowatt two times now and can say it's a pretty fun spot to hang out! Kilowatt has a great selection of beers including some pretty tasty Pale Ales and some good IPA's which are my fave! I love how their tap says "OCEANSIDE" ! They have great deals on growlers too! The atmosphere is fun and inviting. There are lots of cool games to keep you occupied, and it's roomy! The bathrooms are clean which is a huge plus. You're pretty much in walking distance to tons of good food and right near the beach. Can't beat that! I'll keep coming back!

Nice spot sun Oceanside around a couple of restaurants. I had their barrel ashes Christmas Ale. It was quite tasty. I played a few board games that were available (in varying condition, they actually were a lot of fun, I cannot remember seeing so many games and activities in one brewery before. The beer was good and the service was fast and polite.

Love it here! Every time I go to Oceanside I make it a priority to go here. This was my first time going during the day and it was still a super good vibe. They have removed some of the fun games that used to be there (very sad since that was a good selling point) but the vibes and drink were still super good! I ordered the lime slushee and it was super good! It tasted like I shoved an entire lime in my mouth. If you hate lime, you'll hate this drink.

Absolutely LOVED! The ambiance was incredible. The black lights and weird, artistic decor on the walls made this place stand out more than any other brewery I have been to. They also have a ton of games to play while you sip delicious beer all night long (I recommend the IPA). It's in a perfect spot in downtown Oceanside, and I think everyone should come down and check it out. They have some food options too that look amazing, and the backroom with glow in the dark random stuff in it (sounds weird, but trust me, it's pretty cool). Don't miss out on this place! Cool spot to cool down after being on the beach. The Guava Hazy IPA is perfect. Goes down smooth and packs a punch. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that. There are several games to chose from as well. I ended up taking some beer to go too.

Cool place and an impressive selection! We only got a few tasters, all were good or better (yup, Maple Smoked Maibock and Pineapple Coconut Blonde came home with us). I would have loved to see the speakeasy experience (Fri/sat evenings only, and we were there on a Sunday), and i wished they were dog friendly. We had to sit outside at a table on the sidewalk, no shade. :(

In town for business and this trip happened to fall on a pretty somber day for me, the one year of losing my best friend. I decided to walk down kilowatt because they have pretty tasty beer and a very laid back vibe. I originally went in with the intention of not interacting with anyone and just kind of sitting in my sorrows. Glad I eventually made it to the bar instead, where I was welcomed without hesitation by a bunch of Oside locals who all knew the bartender. After some of their pastry stouts, I tried some mixes of other beers the bartender recommended. They were really delicious. Everyone was having a great time, taking turn playing songs, and we pretty much all stayed until closing. I mean.. I definitely was the last one there and never once was made to feel like that was a bad thing. It may not seem like a lot, or maybe even special to some, but I really am so thankful to have been there on such a hard day. I needed to not feel alone and this brewery, the bartender, and the locals who love it turned one of the hardest days of my life into something more bearable, and even... normal. Kind of one of those "you never know what someone is going through" kind of things. And it reminded me so much of the good times I had with my best friend before she passed. Taylor would have loved it there. Customer for life! Thanks guys for being there, with a cold one.

Dan was absolutely amazing, he was super personable and helpful when deciding what beer to order. Everything we tried was delicious. There are small bites to eat, nothing crazy. My husband got a hot dog and said it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is very funky and colorful, just a cool vibe to be around. We went during the day on a Saturday so it wasn't busy at all, but was informed Friday nights get pretty packed.

A good tasting room with some pretty good beers. I think what makes this place awesome is the neon lights. It's not the biggest location but it's good enough and they also have a small food menu. I forgot one of the bartenders name but he was real cool and knew all the beers.

Interior-wise Kilowatt might be the most unique brewery in all of San Diego. Feels like you're in a real-life version of a game of Ms. Pacman only instead of eating little glowing dots you're drinking delicious beers. The entertainment is like the bar games version of that scene from the movie Vegas Vacation, and they even have a giant life-sized lightbrite so it's safe to say that Kilowatt isn't copying anyone. They've got a bunch of beers and styles to choose from and I really love how you can just order litter tasters making the inevitable tough decisions easier than they normally are. If you're walking by and see the glow of Kilowatt, definitely give it a stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Came here on a weekend trip to Oceanside. This was the first place we visited, and I honestly think it was my favorite. The beers were DELICIOUS! No joke! I usually may enjoy one brew but not the next, but everything we had here was off the charts! Because of Covid restrictions we had to order food, but they also had GREAT options! Tasty! Cheap! Like a 3 dollar hot dog, or you can even buy a small bag of chips. They made it so easy and flexible. But the food was actually as great as the beer! Mike was the bartender at the time. He was so kind, knowledgeable, and helped up know Kilowatt better. He also suggested many other things in Oceanside. He really gave our trip a great start. I wish we could've made it back before departing, but I'm sure we will be back again. Please give this place your business. Quality beer, service, ambiance! Can't wait to return when Covid is a distant memory because they have large games - strategy and board games! Ah! Omg. This place really makes everywhere else look bad.

Decided to check this place out last night after walking around. It definitely had a cool vibe to it. The whole place is decked out in cool lights and games. They even have tabletop games to keep you busy. We walked up to the bar to get our drink. We were helped right away. Our party was a little big so we had to wait for a table to open up (no biggie). We kept ourselves occupied with the games until then. My first drink of choice was the seltzer. It was okay. The flavor was a little bitter to me. I then decided to try the kilowatt beer and that was pretty good. The people in my party got a few other beers they liked and the "brain freeze shooters". We also ordered some pretzels which were okay. They came with mustard dipping sauce instead of cheese and were fairly small. The only downside to this place is there is absolutely nothing else to drink other than their specialty drinks. There were some in our party that don't drink and their only option was water. I also can only handle so many different flavors of drinks before I feel sick so a normal domestic beer would have been good. I know it's a brewery and is known for the special drinks but a little more variety would have been awesome! Overall we enjoyed our time here. We were on fire with the games and having a blast. It was clean and the staff was very attentive and polite. We will be back!

Great beer spot right in the heart of Oceanside, with the coolest bar top I've ever seen. Love that they have such a wide assortment of beers, ABV strengths and flavors. Honestly, it's some of the tastiest beer I can think of in Oceanside. They have beer bottles & cans to-go as well. A lot of breweries have tables, chairs & places to sit. That's about it. Kilowatt goes the extra mile and fills the space with art, table games and some of the most interesting large-format wall games that I have never seen anywhere else. Of course with COVID you have to buy food, which they do serve and have been since they opened (from what I remember). The food is generally okay, though I would consider some of the many other eateries in the immediate vicinity. Overall really cool place to check out!

Rude. If they wanted to refuse to service me I would've respected that. Employee claimed my ID to be fake because it "FELT" fake and as I walked away not wanting to fight it, he says "nice try". Not necessary, very unprofessional and very UNCOMFORTABLE.

I'm a hazy fanatic. Unfortunately, the hazy beer I had at kilowatt is one of the worst I've ever had. I could buy a 6 pack of a better beer for a $9 pint +$2 tip. Plus, the guy in the speakeasy bar was a jerk. I really wanted to like this place too.
